Colicci Serpentine Lido in City of London, Westminster

The views are amazing. The weather was fantastic (clear skies, cool but sunny ..... just perfect) We went there for breakfast but ended up staying till lunch. although the views can be enjoyed best by siting outdoors, there is always the problem of insects / birds, so we did shift indoors after an hour or so of our time there.

Whenever I go to a restaurant that is in a really incredible place AND that restaurant turns out genuinely good food, a bit of my faith in humanity is restored. This is the only brick-and-mortar place to get a bit to eat and drink in a huge, gorgeous, double park, so it really doesn't have to be good, but it is. We especially liked the almond croissant, and the service was personable, too.

Visited in September 2023 during the heatwave. All in all a very pleasant experience, a wide variety of pastries on offer. Although not the best in the city, the coffee was decent as was the almond croissant. Best part about this venue is its location within the park. On a sunny day (which it was when I visited) it is a nice place to just sit and take in the views and catch some well needed British sun shine.

Food was hugely overpriced but reasonable quality and taste. Coffee was abysmal. Completely tasteless and badly served (ie, staff refused to add sugar to the iced coffee before adding ice cubes so the sugar wouldn't dissolve)

Avoid! Expensive food, disorganised inside the cafe with staff shouting at each other and customers. On top of that, the cafe manager came out and bullied us because we moved a table for others to join us. We ended up sitting on the grass in the park, about 25 of us.

After a brief walk around Kensington Gardens, we popped into this lovely cafe for a coffee. It certainly is popular and well worth a visit. The staff were super friendly, streets ahead of the appalling service we experienced earlier in the day
