Sabroso, agradable comida en este espacioso restaurante subterráneo. Nos fuimos temprano, pero si llena bastante rápido ya que la noche avanzaba. I took my team out for lunch as a Christmas treat, and indeed it was a treat. It was very busy, but the service was pretty good. They did muck up on one of their orders, but managed to rectify it. When the food turned up, it was out of this world, one of the best Thai meals I have had. The prices are higher end, and they give themselves a generous (optional) service charge, but all in all it is worth it. I will definitely return.

Went with a large group of friends (17 in total), where we had a set menu of starters, mains and deserts. The food just kept coming all evening and as one dish was finished the next apeared without delay. As well as serving up food for a large group, the drinks service were also quick and efficient. All starters and mains were varied in composition ranging from mild to spicy. Food was excellent and they certainly put the king into king prawns (they were huge). The set menu varied, between numerous chicken, beef and fish dishes served with bowls of noodles and rice. Starters were a combination of about every thai starter available. Our whole party thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening and left feeling well fed and watered. Well done to all the staff and I will look forward to returning again in the future.

Our party of 7 had lunch here and we all thought it was fabulous. Served by authentic Thai staff who were so friendly which added to our pleasant experience. A good choice of set menus and a wide range of dishes al la care to choose from. Good vegetarian options too. The place was buzzing and noisy but that added to the atmosphere. Comfortable seating, stylish decor and quite a large restaurant. We will be eating here again for sure. Not cheap by any means but well worth it. Dishes are of a nice size. Not small but not large either.

Three of us dined here and all felt that either of the set menus offered enough choice for us without looking down the long list of a la carte options. Each set menu was good value and when the food came, there was plenty of it. It was delicious throughout and all of us said we'd be happy to come back. The service was a bit hit and miss but what was really annoying was that the 'optional' service charge had been added to the bill. We'd have paid it anyway but it wasn't really optional.

Ate here when in London on a business trip. Staff friendly, helpful and eager to please. Maybe a little too much - kept getting regular visits to top up my glass from the beer bottle....however I noticed that other diners were not getting this so maybe it was either where I was sat or because I was dining alone.Food was OK. Not the best Thai food I have ever had but the chicken satay starter was pretty standard fare. The lamb curry was mixed..beautiful tender lamb but nothing else in the curry sauce except a few new potato pieces and a single slice of red chilli. Maybe that is how it should be but it just seemed a bit boring. A few comments on here about small portions - I had enough for my appetite so no complaints here. A bit pricey - £35 for prawn crackers, starter, main, rice and two bottles of Singha. Maybe this is about right for this part of London. I would probably return - but not wholeheartedly recommend blindly to others.

Had 2 starters and 1 main dish with rice to share with a bottle of wine. The service was attentive which was a nice surprise. I do have to say however the food was brought out so quickly after we ordered it seemed like it had been sitting there for us. My chicken something main was delicious, my friend ordered a pork main which she liked, but the taste wasn't to my requirements. Lovely ambiance, I actually like underground places. Second time there (lunch) was with a work colleague who was allergic to sea food and ordered a Chicken Pad Thai, only to find out it was a Prawn Pad Thai that arrived instead. Thank God for her good eyesight and sense of smell. I went here with a client one evening. It is located downstairs on the corner of London Wall and Blomfield St. I have been here a couple of times before and the food is good, although I am not a lover of Thai food in general. As it is downstairs it can feel a bit dark, which is OK if you are on a date. It wasn't that busy, that evening. We started off with some beers and a few starters. I enjoyed the satay chicken and the chilli squid, but was not fussed about the fish cakes (but I am not a lover of fish). Sri Thai City was recommended buy a Thai friend as I was looking for a Thai restaurant in the city. The interior was nice and relaxed and even for a late Tuesday evening in the city there was a few people eating. For started we had a variety of starters which was very good, don't remember the name but was the last opinion in the starters menu . For main we had monk fish and king prawns with chilli paste & green been, with spiced aubergine and mixed vegetables, I would definitely recommend the monk fish for the fish lovers, and the spiced aubergine give a good touch if you not feeling like rice. Good detail is that as we were talking we spend almost an hour in the starters, but when finished the mains came shortly afterwards and still hot, as the starters took so long to finish (due to the chat to be clear) could be that they were a bit cold but no. The food was very tasty and you could feel the different ingredients and spices. I would be returning to try the sea bass as I heard is one of the specialities. If you are around the city, this is a very good option if you like Thai food, and if you don't, try you may change your mind:)Thanks again

I've eaten here a few times with work friends. I would go back - but this is one of those restaurants where the quality of your meal depends on what you order. On my last visit everyone was disappointed except me. For starter, we shared a selection of dim sum - some plates were delicious and some were average or even weird tasting. For main, I had KOONG PHAD TAOSEE which is prawns topped with black bean sauce. This was really delicious and I'm glad I've found a safe dish I can go back to. Some dishes are unnecessarily spicy so I recommend you state your preference when ordering if you can't eat food that's too spicy. They are happy to cater for this so certainly a plus.

Visit with a group of around 30 and had to order in advance which is fair enough. Despite the large numbers all food arrived promptly and no one was left waiting whilst other tucked in. Lamb shank red Thai curry was a favourite and everyone was impressed with the quality. My only complaint is the poor choice in soft drinks. Apple and orange cordial, lemonade or coke is all that was on offer which is pretty disappointing. It wouldn't take much to stock fresh juice or J2o for example. On a practice side the restaurant is in the basement however there is a wheelchair lift for those needing it. Also there's plenty of space to get around and to the disabled toilet.

Visited with colleagues after work on a Tuesday evening to find the restaurant virtually empty - I think there were only 2 or 3 other tables in use. And I can see why. One waitress was friendly enough but apart from her the service was disinterested verging on grumpy. And the food was very disappointing. Our mixed appetizer platter was cold and featured really chewy squid and dry, tasteless spring rolls and my green chicken curry was one of the most bland and disappointing I've had in ages. Supermarket ready meal versions are much better. It's not particularly expensive given its City location, but there are much, much better places nearby.

Sri Thai City is slughly confusing when you arrive as the endtrancenis on a corner but then one goes downstairs. It seems like it's empty or closed and then you open the inner door and find the restaurant. No natural light down there means it feels a little oppressive. The menu is the usual generic thai dishes, served by staff that make no effort to do more than they have to. We found this place overpriced for what it was and lacking in the usual flourishes that one sees from Thai restaurants. The food was fine - no complaints, but our sense was that this place was disappointing overall - missed opportunities for it to be so much more.

Not a winner. The food - very ordinary. Spring rolls for starters were heavy (wrap too thick) and Thai green curry okay but far from memorable. Comments from others around the table were the same - generally inoffensive but nothing better. Service - very poor. Yes, there were around 14 of us, but we had booked in advance, were early in the evening, and the restaurant was not exactly busy. Each course took a long time before we were all served. They lost count of the rice dishes etc, placed it on the table without thought so that people didn't know they were sharing / others couldn't reach, and actually tried to sort it out when someone complained that their rice hadn't arrived by taking a dish off the table and moving it while someone else was actually serving themselves. Would it have hurt just to bring one more (which they did when the table protested - but then stood around and counted everything)? It is. It the fault of the diners that the staff were slow, didn't get everything out at the same time, forgot some dishes, and didn't place the sundries according to where they were ordered. There are many good places to eat in London, so don't waste your time on this one.

I dined with two friends and we decided to have the set menu and order a different course each so we could share out each other's food. I did find the food very bland and portions were very small. Although I am more familiar with the West End, I decided to have a City lunch - easier for her. I chose this restaurant from the web as it was near her college. As usual, it was very busy as this is a peak time in London's business area. I was early, but the table was soon ready. The set menus looked a good choice - Beatrice agreed and we went for a 3/4 course. We had the same starters, but chose different main courses and shared. There was no choice of sweet, but we could have chosen from the a la carte menu, but the set menu was fine. We had a glass of wine each and the meal worked out at £40 a head including service. I have been to this restaurant 3 times, twice for lunch, and once for dinner. All 3 times, I absolutely loved the food and the ambiance is also very nice and intimate. It’s located on London Wall, which is great for me as I work in Moorgate.Good points:1). Food is very tasty ( if you love seafood like me, I would recommend the Phad Phed Talay).2). Good location for those working in the city, also very close to Liverpool street station.3). Good ambiance.Bad Points:1). Service can be very slow. The first time I went, it was for lunch, and I went after 1pm, so the service was not so bad. However, the second time I went for lunch, I went at 12noon, and they were so busy, that even by 1pm, our food still had not arrived, so we ended up taking the food away instead of eating in the restaurant. I must say that the customer service was not great, because considering how long they made us wait for our food, they could have offered us free drinks, prawn crackers, or something, but they did not, and were also not very apologetic. I gave them the benefit of doubt and went a this time for dinner. Again, I can't fault the food, but the service was very slow and considering that this time, they were not busy at all, there was no excuse. They took so long to take our food order, and even when they did, I had to call the waitress over, before she actually took our order. When they brought our drinks, I asked for a straw, and she said she would get it, however, she didn’t. When they brought our food, I asked for a straw again, and told her that I had asked a while ago, but again, she didn’t bring it. I had to then alert another waiter, before finally getting the straw. They are not very proactive in the way they serve, they are more reactive and wait for you to ask for something before they offer you, and even when you ask them, they either forget altogether, or take long to bring what you requested. They are not rude, at least not when I've been there, but they need to work on the speed of their service and also how much attention their waiters pay to requests made by customers.2). They are only open Monday-Friday, however, this is the case for most restaurants in the city because I guess its not worth opening on the weekends, so can't fault them for this.I would recommend this restaurant, but they need to work on their service. Good food though!

After reading three reviews about Sri Thai city I feel almost embarrassed to write mine. I have been send to the City for a week on a training course and noticed Sri Thai City on the other side of e road from the school so decided to pop in there for lunch as Thai is my favourite food. And when I say favourite I mean FAVOURITE. I do admit restaurant's interior is pretty pleasant but nothing more special than Sushino or an Itsu at a good location. I arrived by myself, without prior booking and asked for a table for one. Staff asked me three times to confirm if I have definitely wanted to dine alone. It appears it's unheard of in Sri City to cater for single dining parties. I have ordered my favourite chicken coconut soup and another favourite Thai beef salad. A bit peculiar description of the Thai beef salad in the menu:Grilled thinly sliced beef w/ lime juice, fresh mint, chilli & garlic that doesn't mention bean sprouts or salad leaves but hey what do I know, the staff told me that it would definitely arrive with bean sprouts and salad. Sadly I have never found out for myself. Because first arrived soup (along with a waitress askin again if I want to drink still or sparkling). Right. The soup. It definitely was a soup I a just not very sure how close to the actual bowl of chicken and coconut soup this one was; a fan of coconut milk might put more of it in a tea than the chef in Sri City put in my bowl. I am used to rich taste and smell of coconut Of cocnut when the soup arrives at my table. well.. not this time. It was a sad pale concoction with a few halves of cherry tomatoes, mushrooms and slices of chicken swimming in between wilted sprigs of coriander leaves. And it tasted even worse. Actually no. It didn't. It didn't taste of anything, not spicy, not sour, not even salty. So I asked for a slice of lime. A waitress reassuringly asked twice if I have definitely wanted a slice of lime and then came back with a slice of lemon. And when I asked for lime anyway she told me they didn't have any. Usually I am a very petulant diner. 9 out of 10 times if I get served that isn't to my liking I simply move the dish around a plate try to eat a bit out of politeness ask for a bill, pay and never come back. However this time, the missing lime wedge pushed me over the edge. I would like to report that I simply walked out but instead I cancelled the salad, paid for the soup and went round the corner to Itsu where takeaway version of the same soup tasted more like a real deal that you get in Bangkok. Sri City I am not sorry, I will not be coming back. Additional note: after typing this review I googled Sri City and visited their website where they describe themselves like this: "Sri Thai City is a welcome retreat where City executives can relax and enjoy fine wines, champagnes and beers in vibrant yet unobtrusive surroundings." Huh. I guess it serves me right. I ain't city executive and I were not there to enjoy their fine wines so technically they had every right to treat me like an undesired trespasser. Cheers Sri City for showing me my place in a food chain, I shall stick to Itsu from now on. Fortunately we have plenty of them in Chelsea.

We enjoyed a quiet, but very relaxing mid-week dinner. The service was great and very efficient, and the menu was extensive with mouthwatering choice for all. Being close to Liverpool Street is a great advantage for after work diners, although we travelled up from Essex and Kent and it was a great mid-way meeting point and worth the effort. The cold drinks seemed watered down, but the wine and food was excellent.

I had dinner wth Martin, Peter and Rob at Sri Thai City on Tuesday night, we had a great meal and would definetely go back. It seems like its the lunch retaurant of choice for the banking crowd, the decor was amazing and the menu was fantastic. We had the Sri Thai City Mixed Hors D'Oeuvres which includes Pandan Chicken (chicken wrapped in banana leaf), Rob and I both ate it whole... mistake, you're supposed to take the leaf off, we're both idiots. He had trouble getting it down, I had trouble getting it out. Other than that it was a great time, great meal.

Went here as two couples for an evening meal. Food was lovely, service was a little hit and miss - hard to get their attention. Slightly more expensive that other Thai meals I've had in London, but not too much. Would definitely go back.

The proportions are smaller BUT this allows you to sample the whole menu. Go with friends or family who are adventurous and you can eat your way through Thailand. I recommend making reservations as this place is busy. Don’t be scared by reviews claiming the food is too spicy or small; we all left perfectly stuffed. The staff was friendly, too. Oh, and get the pineapple pie with taro ice cream!!
