Nice Thai food but has this closed down? my office is next door. You have been closed for several weeks now, despite the note saying that it is a temporary staff holiday. Please post something , to let us know what is happening. Thanks

Called in here lunchtime today whilst awaiting hotel room. Great choice of drinks, especially bottled ciders. Served very quickly although busy. Thai food smelled and looked good and reasonable prices. Lovely tables in little booths to have cosy romantic meals. Would recommend.

So, to set the expectation this is a pub that happens to do thai food on the side (predominantly takeaway) rather than a Thai restaurant but it was convenient, I wanted a pint and it seemed convenient. The welcome was ok.. for someone who doesn't understand the process it wasn't made very clear. You go to a side bar to the right of the pub and order/pay for your food. I then sat in the pub with a great pint of beer and awaited my food. It was ok...not sensational but for £12 I got a starter and a main and it was reasonably tasty. For quick, value, fast food and a great pint it was fine

Rudest and most unfriendly barman I have ever encountered. It felt like getting us drinks was too much effort for him and rolled his eyes when we asked him for a second bottle of beer.

The complete OPPOSITE to anything South African! A South African bar would definitely not kick out it's customers at 9:30pm in the middle of a South Africa vs Argentina rugby match (despite it saying it closes at 11:00pm online). Would definitely recommend The Globe up the street for a better "South African" atmosphere. The food, however, was really good Thai food. I would recommend changing the name and description of the bar on Google.

Been coming here for at least 6 years now. I have had countless meals with friends and colleagues, more than 100 for sure. Thai food is still very good and served quickly and with a smile by Nush (spelling?), whom you will find here basically any day of the week. I recommend the Pad Thai, with prawns or chicken, but the Udon is also amazing. The chef has surely changed but the taste remains consistent (albeit it used to be spicier, which I preferred, but you can add your own chili and chili oil) and the pricing is great value. What has changed is the crowd, the atmosphere, and the drinks service at the pub (which really should be a separate tripadvisor listing, seeing as they are different businesses), which has always been below average and seems even on the decline.

Called in after a team meeting for a drink early evening. There were about 15 of us so we filled most of the bar area. Service was good. Drinks choices were good. We didn't eat. Just drinks. Good choice of gins too. We all enjoyed it and lots of atmosphere. And they have a big TV if you want to watch a sporting event.

We didn't eat, so my review is based purely on the pub side. Service is incredibly slow and because of the reputation of the chiltern fireplace next door, they feel compelled to thump the prices up as high as they can - £1.75 for a small bottle of coke - seriously !! The staff are also clearly trained to drain every penny out of your wallet, as when I asked for a vodka and tonic, the response was "do you want a double ?" To me, that meant we have happy hour and it's 2 for 1. Not the case, as the cost of the round clearly showed when I came to pay. Beer options are limited, but they do serve a nice pint of peroni. So, if you do like paying top dollar for your drinks and enjoy really slow service, feel free to drop in. Oh, and the clientele think it's really cool to drop the "f" word into every other sentence, so that really impressed us as well - not. I would recommend some of the other nice pubs around the area - there's plenty of other options. We won't return

We went "afterworking" at this bar on a Friday night. It was very busy, but we were still able to get a great table by the fireplace. The service is great, the drinks are good and the atmosphere is nice. I would surely revisit whenever I am in the neighbourhood again!

Have eaten here many a time and spent long afternoons in the sun in the summer drinking outside on the benches. An earlier contributor mentioned Renata as being rude. I think you will fine her name is Senatra (gismo) and she is the friendliest person you will meet once you get to know her it takes a while but once you understand what she is like you will have many an enjoyable evening and lunch here. Do not be put off by staff that can be a little short at times. The food is also perfect for a quick meal and the Ribs as previously mentioned are really tasty.

This pub is attached to the Chiltern Firehouse and has a Thai food side-kick. The Thai waitresses are a little short-fused sometimes but then again so are the guests. Don't get too excited about a little rudeness. The staff are busy and the food is cheap. I like this pub because it has lots of outside benches wrapped around the corner building. It serves good drinks, better than the average boozer, and the bartenders aim to please. Big screens show the sport. Very busy weeknights after work and when it's sunny. If you don't like crowds avoid at those times.

The management and the staff have really bad attitude towards the customers and I usually give a second chance to people but it ended up in a big disappointment. First of all, I asked for a water for my dog one day and as it have been really hot lately and I was outside with my dog, I asked one of the staff members for it and in a response I heard: "well, you do not expect me to bring water to your dog, do you?". Apparently it was too much to ask, and it was early afternoon, so it was not even that busy or anything. Second of all, the security staff love the gossip, so you overhear things been told about yourself. On the bright side of the things the food seem to be good but the environment is far from being one. You guys have to change your attitude, that is not the way to run a pub.

There is a woman that works here called RENATA who is the most unpleasent rude human being I have ever come across whilst living in London. I have lived in london for 15 years and never have I been spoken to by a member of staff the way she spoke to me and my friends. I honestly am against writing reviews as I think nobody is perfect and that people write some very picky reviews but after being screamed at by this woman i had to write something. The Bok Bar is a really odd one. It's set in a pub but serves the most delicious Thai food. I always have the Thai yellow curry as it's divine! It's around £7.50 for a curry too, which is pretty decent given the location! You order food at one counter and go through to the main bar to order drinks, which is a little unusual. Don't come here expecting a long leisurely lunch though, they bring the food out quickly and pick up the empties just as quickly so it's perfect for a quick lunch break.

Came across this pub as I was trying to find a place to watch the football (This pub came up on the BT sport pub locator) The pub was quite small, pints were quite expensive and the food on offer was all thai food (even thou it was meant to be a South African themed pub) It was 12 noon so I wasn't really in the mood for thai. Nice pub but not sure if I will visit again

I visited this place last year during the World Cup and had a terrible experience - not only was I overcharged for drinks (4 x gin and tonics came to 57.47 - HOW CAN THAT EVEN BE DIVIDED BY 4???), but the 'bar manager' also kicked everyone out 10 minutes early because he was 'tired'.I went again recently and was charged £17.90 for a glass of white wine and a cider, after checking with the bar the day after they said they were "not sure why I was overcharged".Rude staff and horrifically overpriced - you can probably get cheaper drinks in the Firehouse next door.I will be telling EVERYONE to avoid this place

The food was pretty good, especially the pad thai was delicious. The atmosphere was like any other pub, nothing special. The prices were very reasonable. But there wasn't any service. A Thai restaurant that is not that cheap should have waiters, you shouldn't go to the counter and order your food, then go to the bar and get drinks; it is not Burger King. Overall, Bok Bar was an average place. It's not somewhere you should especially go, but if you are in the district and want to eat Thai food and drink good beer; you can give Bok Bar a try.

I have not reviewed a bar before but have felt so upset after my last two visits here. After experienceing appalling service and rude staff as well as bad food months ago here and being put off, I was persuaded by a friend of mine who works around there to visit this place again. I have to admit that the food was good but the staff rude. The guy behind the bar on Tuesday the 16th of December is the rudest barman I have encountered in my whole life. Never again will I go to this place. A surprise as I go out a lot in London and find it a great city with excellent service in most of the bars and restaurants.

Visited London with friends and was in the area, just wanted some good food, nice drink and a chin wag. We didn't want a scruffy pub, nor did we want an expensive wine bar, and we popped in here totally by accident. We were NOT disappointed. The food was excellent, tasted great, beer and wine were fine, spent a pleasant couple of hours. This is a corner pub NOT a restaurant, so do not judge on Egon Ronay standards, but it was great. The staff were polite, and the whole lunchtime was pleasantly pleasing. As a bonus, the price was well within anyone's budget.Nothing to look at and a bit small but it ticks the right boxes, I will be going again believe meValue for money 10 out of 10

I have never reviewed a bar or restaurant on here, but I was so appalled by the service I received from this place I feel I have to say something. I visited the Bok Bar for a drink with my boyfriend last week. I ordered a Pinot Grigiot wine. We went and sat at a table and when I took a sip from the wine it was warm and tasted old. I took it back to the bar and explained to the manageress that my wine was warm and didn’t taste very nice and I asked her if she could pour me a new glass from a new bottle of the same wine from the fridge. She told me that this what I had ordered and that if I didn’t like it then I should have ordered something else. I tried to explain to her that it was warm and that Pinot Grigiot is supposed to be served chilled and that I didn't want anything different, just the chilled Pinot Grigiot wine that I have ordered. She refused to change the wine and told me that if I wanted another glass I would have to pay for it!! I was astounded!! I don’t know if she was having a bad day or if this is her usual service, but I’ve never been so rudely spoken to in a bar in my life and I was disgusted at her attitude! If you want to pay through the nose for cheap warm wine and be spoken to like dirt then this is the perfect place to go. If not then I would strongly recommend avoiding it.

This is no longer the Bok Bar, but seems to have come into the discreet orbit of the superbly run and upscale Chiltern Firehouse. An upmarket and understated public house (if such a thing is possible), with a very acceptable Thai food offering. On the corner of Chiltern Street in an upmarket residential part of Marylebone. If Vogue ran posh pubs...stylish, no ostentatious branding and reassuringly expensive. Even the clientele are becoming more genteel.

Ultimately it is just a pub that sells thai food but the standard for a pub is very good. Lots of choice on the menu, very authentic taste, excellent value for money. There is no exciting presentation or funky plates, just tasty oriental food at a reasonable price.

The proportions are smaller BUT this allows you to sample the whole menu. Go with friends or family who are adventurous and you can eat your way through Thailand. I recommend making reservations as this place is busy. Don’t be scared by reviews claiming the food is too spicy or small; we all left perfectly stuffed. The staff was friendly, too. Oh, and get the pineapple pie with taro ice cream!!

This place used to have some absolutely quality pad thai a few years ago but something has tragically changed. I've noticed this the past couple times I've been but today was the last straw. Noodles came out bland as, undercooked or worse -day old. The proprotion of vegetables has diminished, service size has shrunk and prices gone up. SAD

Basic Thai in busy tourist area. Menu is standard Thai fare but well priced for the area. Facilities all a little shabby but fine. Good portions and tasty. More functional feeding than a dining experience but, as the cliche goes, you get what you pay for. I will be back
