Oie Truly Thai in City of London, Westminster

Oie Thai is definitely worth checking out, it's a 'one off' not a chain or a franchise and you can immediately taste the difference. I've been a couple of times when I've been visiting London and each time it has tasted freshly made and lovingly crafted, not straight out of a pre-cooked packet. On my first visit I tried to the benchmark traditional Pad Thai and was not dissappointed, it tasted authentic and flavoursome, it easily hit the spot. On my next trip, I thought I'd try something different and went for a salad, again I had a very enjoyable tasty filling lunch. Overall, I'm pleased I found Oie Thai and I'm sure I'll be back again when I'm next in London.

I am so cross and annoyed that I feel the need to write to this review ...LOST BUSINESS I popped in to pick up a chicken curry and rice at lunch time, and the guy behind me picked up what seemed to the same. When i got to work I realised I had the red veg curry so i took it back to swap it over for the chicken. The girl who served me was very rude and started to have a go about the fact it was all my fault as I didn't specify that it was a massaman curry etc and it costs more. All I wanted was to swap over - the extra cost was 20p!!!!! She made such a fuss and was so rude for a genuine mistake, that it really upset me. Instead of just swapping over, with all this fuss you can imagine what my feedback was to my friends and colleagues in the office. Instead of now just losing one customer, they have also lost my friends and colleagues. All for for someone with a very poor customer service.

Had a Chicken Pad Thai from here for my lunch - staff were friendly, food was prepared very quickly and the Pad Thai was delicious!

I think this is one of the best Thai fast food restaurants I've been to in London. For those who expect an authentic Thai meal like you've had in Thailand, please forget it. I've tried their Masaman and Pad Thai takeaway, both are really good when you look at the price and the staff's efficiency. I'd definitely recommend this place for those who'd like a quick lunch in the City.

Visited with high hopes for a quick and tasty Pad Thai. On the plus side service was quick and staff were very friendly. Sadly that's where authentic Thai ended. Chicken was fatty thigh meat. Meal was lukewarm, bland and tasted like it has been sat around for too long. The noodles looked more like stodgy tagliatelle than authentic Thai noodles. Sorry to say I won't be back.

Terrible FOOD!!! This is barely a good, let alone THAI FOOD! Very watery bland curry with chunky bulk-cooked pieces of carrot, boiled chicken, (which gets dropped into the sauces later by the way!) and other large vegetables. A kid can cook better food than this, not mentioning the tasteless sticky and smashed jasmine rice served in this place. I tried both Masaman, and Green Chicken Curry and it was awful! Please avoid. I have eaten in Thailand and many other Thai places in City which are great and this food at OIE Thai is just disgusting! Just because you are selling food at an average price, it doesn't mean it should be so BAD! Very very unhappy experience, I hope the owners or people who run this place, sit down and try their food so they taste what a nightmare is being served here! Thai curry dishes need to be cooked with rich and creamy coconut milk!!! The watery bitter soups which you serve here and call them curry have nothing to do with Thai food!

One of the most flavoursome thai green chicken curry I've ever had! It reminded me of the 1st time I had this dish in Thailand! The rice ball was also extremely tasty. Tip: definitely try the thai green chicken curry and the rice bowl.

Ok, maybe not the healthiest salad. But definitely the BEST! I keep coming back here (mainly in their shop in the Arcade) sometimes even more than once a week and I always order the same dish: rice ball with chicken salad. The staff are extremely friendly, it's just a pleasant experience.
