Ok place. Staff over attentive and lacking in basic skills. One of them took our order whilst standing behind my chair! Our plates were whipped away while we were eating too! Bizarre! Food average. Nothing special and overpriced. Certainly would not go back.

Have fun!

We booked this because of its proximity to the theatre and couldn't believe just how close it was! Very friendly Asian staff in a very small restaurant area. It's definitely the sort of restaurant to go and eat and move on. Starters were all very well presented - we shared a mixed platter for 2; vegetable spring rolls and a chopped chicken salad. Main courses were a little more mixed - the green chicken curry was absolutely delicious, but my weeping tiger was a little disappointing. Other dishes were well presented and portions all good sizes for sharing.

It was uncomfortably warm near the door because a cheap electric heater was blowing straight at us. The table was sticky and the smell of the restaurant was explicit. An investment in table linnen is a must. And cleaning a table, specially when you work with sticky sauses Isn't done with a left over piece of paper tissue as I saw them do several times inbetween services, but with a cloth, water and soap. I know it's not the eastern way but please...how lazy can you get? Anyway the wine, I had an Argentinian Malbec, was good and surprisingly the food was tasty and well balanced in flavour and texture.

Need I say anymore? The food was poor quality (clearly not fresh) and over-priced and more effort clearly went into presentation than actual food quality and taste. However, these complaints pale in comparison to the fact that we saw two cockroaches whilst dining. The first was on the wall near our table, we pointed this out to the manager who proceeded to crush it with a napkin and state "it's fine, it's fine" whilst shuffling over to a waste bin (it wasn't really that fine). With hindsight, we should have left at this point. However, we did not and a minute or two after our mains were served (note to staff: massaman curry should not be red) I looked up from my plate to see my friend looking back at me with a cockroach on his face. Chaos ensued, the manager respectfully allowed us to leave without charge but all in all this will always remain the time that me and my friend went for food and there was a cockroach on his face.On his face.

Nice and easy dining atmosphere to hang out with friends for lunch or dinner with a proper authentic style cooking @Siam is recommended. Be very careful when you order a drink tho because it will cost you as nearly the same price as a cost of starter plate . Service charged included ,no alcoholic drink , for two ppl one starter and one main with a drink each bill comes about £50 . This is quite expensive for me , I'm poor... ;)

Located in a very alive and vibrant soho street, i think it is the best choice for thai cuisine if you are nearby and dont want to spend too much in the luxurious other central thai restaurants. The taste is authentic and the recipes delicious. Tried chicken satay and some lime prawns (not frozen). The ambience is interesting and service excellent and fast as there are not many tables to serve (6-7 ground floor and another 6-7 first floor). The prices are reasonable for a central london restaurant. Will definitely come back!

In its former incarnation, as Chiang Mai, this restaurant produced some excellent Thai food in its heyday. Sadly no more (and presumably under different ownership). I had Yum Ma-Kuea Jay (£6.25), an aubergine salad to start, with slices of aubergine in a good tempura batter with plain peanuts, onion, and red chilli. It was quite tasty and pleasantly hot but the dressing overdid the fish sauce. For the main course I had the Panang curry. The portion was too small for £12.95, the beef chewy (why do Thai and Chinese restaurants get away with describing the beef in their dishes as fillet steak when it is clearly nothing of the kind). Worse, the sauce had separated so was served in an oil slick, it tasted grainy, even stale, and was over seasoned (with salt rather than fish sauce). The worst Panang curry I have ever eaten. A portion of boiled jasmine rice was £2.75. The nice presentation does not mask the ineptness of the food that I had. Slightly over-attentive service - please give customers time to read the menu before ordering. The first bill I received was wrong as it included an extra starter. Even at £29.92 including a small glass (175ml) of average Merlot (£5.25) and 10% service charge it was not good value. I will not return.

Menu had a wide variety of appealing options with a range of spice levels. We were both pleased with our dishes; they had good flavor and were well-prepared. Portions are smaller than your typical Thai restaurant, but were still large enough for us to feel full after the meal. Service was nothing special but got the job done. I'd return.

We visited this restaurant by walking in off the street before the theatre and it was a lovely place. The food was reasonable priced and very tasty, it was so light, with beautiful delicate flavours. It was a smallish place with quite a few tables but this did not reflect on the quality or the service. The staff were friendly and attentive, the wine was very chilled, the seating was comfortable and there was a pleasant atmosphere in the place. We were a group of six and had prawn crackers (which had a great kick to them) a main each, a couple of bottle of wine, plus soft drinks and paid £25 per head. So the price also ticked the right box.

Me and my boyfriend went for a quick lunch after some shopping. We just went to Thailand this summer and we missed a bit of thai cooking. We got the lunch deal which is two course meal for 8.95 English pounds, so we got to choose from about 6 appetizers and another 6 main courses. There was a variety in the selection with some classics like chicken satay or pad thai. The appetizer and main course come together on a plate were its split, nice presentation, and satisfying portions. I had the chicken satay and it was ok, but what annoyed me was that it was a bit cold. My main was great, pork with garlic and peppers, but my boyfriends pad thai was a it bland compering to Thailand's but overall had good taste. The service was good, and the atmosphere was nice but it was a shame it was empty. I thought overall we had an ok experience but I ll try and find a better Thai restaurant next time.

I've eaten here many times though not in the last year. Food quality remains excellent but the portion sizes of the entres are ridiculously small. The sea bass filets amounted to three 1cm squares and a load of onions and vegetables at £12.95. The chicken main was smaller than a starter in a normal restaurant and not enough for a child's main meal. We were so hungry after we left we ended up going to another restaurant for more food. Such a pity as the food quality is terrific. So if you like thai food and are not hungry, go here. After 3 years or so as an irregular customer, I won't be going back.

Ate here as offered a two course pre theatre-menu for a very reasonable £12 - starter, main plus jasmin rice. Good choice of items - at least 6 starters and 6 mains. As we were under time pressure asked for starters to be served with the mains. Apart from the tables being sticky had no complaints. Service was swift, friendly and efficient. A few people came in even later than us for the pre theatre menu and were immediately served. Decor was quite bland - candles on table would not go amiss. I ate at the restaurant on two occasions at lunch and dinner. The lunch menu was good I asked for spicy vegetable green curry which I got ( almost too spicy) but delicious unfortunately the fish cakes were leathery. I left them uneaten. It would have been nice if the waiter asked why I had left them (feedback for the chef?) but he didn't. As the rest of the food and the service was very good and the prices reasonable, I booked for the pre-theatre menu on a week day evening for a group of friends. We had a very pleasant evening. It was extremely good value and though there was a mix up with my specific table reservation the staff handled it well allocating me a better table than the one I had reserved so I was impressed. The service was unobtrusive but efficient as it should be. However the decor in the restaurant let it down. As you enter the section the right hand side is passable with bright scatter cushions though a little cramped however the "corridor" has no pictures or flowers - surely little pots of orchids could be set on the tables or what about some Thai wall hangings? The maagement could use a little imagination with the surroundings which though small could be put to better use. When I made a reservation I insisted on a specific table in the area on the right!

Went there for a pre-theatre meal. It opened earlier than another Thai nearby. We did not chose from the pre-theatre menu but chose from the a la carte. I cannot say that the food was anything special. The squid starter was more batter than squid, the fish cakes ok, the phad thai not as good as others and the fish for £12 a real bland plate of sea bass. The fish seemed old and I have to give credit to the staff as when I complained they reduced it to £6. In retrospect I should have not paid anything, but as I had eaten it...I would not recommend it and would not return.

To be clear, we happened upon @Siam because other Soho eateries that we had in mind were full. Lowered expectation only added to the satisfaction - the many dishes that we shared at the table were without exception quite good- light, direct and tasty. What was particularly noteworthy was that they neither dumbed down nor beat you on the head with the spices. The spicier entries were led but not overwhelmed by spice. Therefore, I would particularly reccomend this to anyone with an affinity for spicy curries, etc.. The tempura squid was also greaseless and not chewy. The place itself is small but ( by Soho standards) clean. I think next time I might go here on purpose. The staff is really Thai, so english communication is not always a strong suit.

If you are looking for an authentic Thai restaurant in London, this is the real deal! I spent several months travelling through Thailand this year, and I can assure you that this little place serves the same cuisine I had in Asia, not a westernised version of it. They serve all the traditional thai dishes which I came to love during my travels (Tom Kha Gai, Pad Thai and even the Kao Pad Supparod served on a pineapple boat!). The staff is mostly Thai, the venue is small but spread across 3 floors. Booking in advance is a must, as this place is always busy. Service is professional and very quick. Prices are lower than most Thai restaurants in London, especially considering this is in the heart of Soho. Although we could have chosen the low cost set dinner as we arrived before 7pm, we chose from the menu as the prices were very reasonable. I had a beautifully spiced vegetable green curry with tofu and very fresh vegetables. The accompanying steamed rice was hot and tasted freshly cooked. My friend had a papaya salad, which also was extremely fresh, and a beef red curry with steamed brown rice which she declared delicious.Wine is reasonably priced and you can ask for a 125ml glass if you only want a small drink. Service was attentive and the decor is pleasant. The only slight downside was that the table was a little sticky as if it was not quite clean, and because it is only a small restaurant, we were a little cramped. I've eaten Thai food at some of the best Thai places in the world and this is very good. I love their menu - it's not the just the typical pad thai, etc. They have a lot of seafood on the menu and was surprisingly delicious. My favorite was the steamed Sea Bass with the "very spicy" chili sauce - OMG it was soo good I literally drank the sauce. The red curry with duck, grapes and lychee was also very good. I don't like lychee, but it tasted good in the curry. The appetizers - the grilled pork sausage was very good and different from anything I've had - it was a mixture of spices and ground pork and then made into sausage. The other appetizer was strips of pork served with a spicy sauce and was one of our favorites. It's a small restaurant, so reservations are highly recommended.

We stumbled out of the Frith Street exit from a late Sunday afternoon Jersey Boys session and walked straight into this great find. The place was bustling when we asked about a table for two and that for us full usually means a place is worth a try. This compact restaurant is just down from Ronnie Scott's and directly opposite the stage door for the Prince Edward Theatre. The tables for two are close to each other but we didn't mind. The service was pleasant enough and fast. We had a surprisingly large mixed platter to share as a starter. Followed by two really nice main courses, a red curry beef and a great stir-fry. We didn't find the prices overly expensive for London and the South African white wine we had was a good offer. The restaurant certainly satisfied our Thai craving for a while and I think we'd try it again.

In the heart of Soho the small space is maximised so things are a bit cramped but the food is great and very tasty. With a 'Toptable' deal it is very affordable.Wine and drinks like most Central London establishments are pricey. There aren't many tables by the window but if you can get one you can watch the crazy Soho night life drift past while you eat. With Chinatown on the doorstep there must be many oriental restaurants to choose from but this place is definitely worth a try.We are a straight couple but this was a great start to a very entertaining night in Soho.

Greeted nicely and I managed to get a table for 3 straight away, even though we had made no reservation. It was a Tuesday evening. To be honest the inside didnt look special and after ordering our drinks I was expecting anything special. The food was received in reasonable time but they had brought rice that we did not order but it was quickly rectified. The food was excellent though. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and polished off every last drop. Good value for money. Would definitely recommend

My Thai wife found this place craving Thai food during our recent visit. Food was OK, but not outstanding. Some dishes that were not really meant to be spicy were too spicy, but generally flavors were OK. They used fresh herbs and vegetables and the presentation is OK. Worth another try, but with so many other Thai and asian restaurants around, not sure if I would be a regular here.

This is by for the best Thai food in London. I am a Thai-American who lives in Milan, I have been to Thailand many many times over the years. So, I should know what real Thai food should taste like. The server were friendly with great service. I would go back to this restaurant again the next time I visit London.

Came here one busy friday evening, we were lucky to find a table, but upstairs, less lively than ground floor, but OK. Service was slow and disinterested. Food was fine, but nothing special. We eat a lot of thai food, there was nothing wrong with it, but there is probably better to be found elsewhere. We paid £85 for three people, 3 starters, 3 mains, 6 beers. Seems like a lot but this is London......

We had booked in advance and mentioned a celebration. We had a cosy window seat and were greeted with 'Happy Birthday' which was very pleasant. The waiters were very attentive and the menu was extremely varied. We were actually spoilt for choice. The food was very good apart from the chicken in the curry which was really quite dry. However this did not spoil our meal too much. We were given a piece of cheesecake along with candle and a very smiley waiter singing the first few lines of happy birthday. All in all a very enjoyable evening. They offer a pre theatre menu which we would definitely try next time we are in London.

We had dinner yesterday, 3 girlfriends arriving hungry... We shared 2 starters, had a main course each, and a soft drink. The food is ok (average not fantastic), and the service is very good. But the prices are quite high, and the size of the dishes is ridiculously small. With dishes like curry or stir fried vegetables, they wont give you rice, you actually have to pay almost 3 pounds to get a small bowl of rice (!!!). Even the size of the diet coke bottle was the smallest I ever seen. So all in all not worth the money (almost 20 pounds each for a very poor meal).

After searching on lastminute.com for a pre-theatre restaurant last night, we found @Siam, and also found a 25% off deal, which unfortunately when arriving the confirmation email was not valid, however, with help from a member of staff, we were still given the discount.I am not an expert at all on Thai but this place got it spot on for me. We had squid and prawns for starters and both were perfectly sized and delicious. Then for Mains i had the 'Moo Prew Wan'.. a great mixture of crispy pork, pineapple, cucumber, tomatoes and sweet and sour sauce. For our other main we had the 'Gai Yang', after finding out the original main my partner wanted contained nuts (which staff were very helpful with identifying) and we were very glad we changed as this marinated chicken was unreal! A great experience and a great start to our night!

We chose to eat @Siam early evening on a Friday after a tiring day doing tourist London. We chose @Siam because it seemed to be already busy at 6:30 when we walked by, which is normally a good sign. The downstairs was full so we were shown to a pretty soulless empty upstairs room. The service received was very friendly and attentive but the food served was only average, nothing wrong with it but no wow factor. We paid £65 for a starter a main course dish and a rice each with a bottle of the house red. I would eat here again if I was passing but wouldn't seek it out!

Friends wanted to go try this restaurant as it's been recommended by word of mouth. The restaurant is located right in the heart of London's Soho, so the area is always busy and vibrant. The food was very hit and miss. The som tum green papaya salad with the salted blue crab was very nice. But there were pieces of the shell in it, which made it very uncomfortable to eat. The rest of the food just wasn't executed probably. Some of the dishes lacked seasoning and were bland. The desserts tasted good, but were poorly executed. The redeeming part was the service. They are very welcoming and friendly. And they were always on hand when needed.

My fiance and I went here on a whim, we were hungry and happened to be walking past so popped in for dinner. We had a starter and a main and none of these dishes were particuarly impressive. I had fishcakes and crab and could taste no fish or crab or in either of them. It may have been in there but I would never have known unless it had said so on the menu. Not particularly good value, I wouldn't return here. With so many other restaurants around the area I would try a different one.

Head for Ronnie Scott's jazz club on Frith Street, and next door is this rare find. Why rare? Well if you want authentic, try the 101 in Hammersmith or possibly Esarn Kheaw in Shepherd's Bush. If you want Thai food which caters for Western tastes, try pretty much any other Thai restaurant in London. So it's refreshing to find somewhere which doesn't compromise on its culinary roots, but also serves food which a farang like me can cope with. This is the type of Thai food you would be served in a decent Bangkok hotel. Hold off on that green curry and the prawn crackers, and roam the menu. Try the crab and other salads, the fish, or the duck in tamarind sauce. All excellent. Service is friendly and efficient, atmosphere relaxed with a few touches of class in the decorations and general set up. The window seats are popular, but if you want to pamper those weary bones, go for the soft seats with the cushions.

We stumbled across @Siam whilst looking for a place to have an early dinner in Soho. To be honest I was expecting generic Thai-like food, but was really pleasantly surprised by the authentic flavours and quality ingredients. Our Satay Chicken starter was just divine and I then tried my old-faithful: Prawn Pad Thai. I was really impressed by the presentation and flavours; lovely juicy prawns; crisp and flavoursome beansprouts. It was all top-notch.The Thai iced tea was unusual! Not sure I'm a convert, but it was definitely an interesting taste experience! (V sweet and slightly creamy). We did feel a bit like we were being rushed out as there was a queue of people waiting to get in, but the staff were always polite.

I read some great reviews here which was why I booked but I was disappointed. The starter was okay, the main was really flabby and cold and unappetising and I couldn't eat it. I was really shocked by the gent's loo which was not cleaned properly around the rim, just disgusting and enough to put anyone off their food. A really ugly sight. The bill was £75 for two including a 25% discount on food. That's quite a bit for when you come away hungry as you can't eat your main.

I am a great lover of Thai food but not all restaurants get it right ! This one seems to tick all the boxes. The quality of the food is excellent - The green papaya salad was to die for spicey just how I like it. The chicken satay had the perfect peanut sauce and really tender chicken pieces. The restaurant itself was a bit small we felt the tables were a bit close together but the food more than makes up for it. Loved it and would definitely go there again.

We had lots of time to kill before the late show at Ronnie Scott's and this is a good restaurant to visit if you want to linger – the main reason being the service is pretty slow. I wouldn't choose @Siam for a speedy pre theatre dinner. That aside the service was friendly, polite and apologetic for the wait and they were very busy. We had a great table looking out onto Frith Street and the soho comings and goings. The food was lovely. We had the A la carte menu and there was an interesting and varied...

I've eaten here a few times now and mostly recently went mid-week, ordering from their excellent value Pre-Theatre menu. For £12.95 for two courses, there is a decent range of meals to choose from. I ate the Gai-Satay (chicken breast in mixed spices and coconut milk) and Pad Thai Goong (prawn pad thai) which were both excellent, though of slightly smaller portions than their usual, a la carte dishes.Service is very attentive and the wines are very good also.

We ate dinner here one Sunday evening and found the food to be delicious and reasonably priced. My boyfriend had soft shell crab and I has sea bass green curry, and both were beautifully cooked and full of flavour. The waiters were friendly and jotted down our orders in Thai, and I found the experience very pleasant indeed. The restaurant is fairly small, so there's perhaps not the atmosphere of a larger place, but I think it was probably the best Thai food I have eaten in the UKHope you find this helpful.

The person in charge was rude and condescending, lacking the skills and knowledge to handle a serious food issue. Despite his inability to articulate effectively, he felt the need to be confrontational with a terrible attitude towards customers, violating the Business Trade Act. Recently, I ordered a takeaway from this restaurant and found the food to be extremely unsatisfactory. The beef salad I ordered was substituted ( FAKE MEAT) with something that smelled and tasted terrible, resembling a mix of chemicals and dumb plastic. The vegetables were tasteless and poorly cooked without seasonals, while the steamed rice was replaced with inferior recycling sticky rice. The restroom was also dirty and neglected, reflecting poorly on the overall standards of the establishment. The foods on their menu did not match what was served, indicating deception and a violation of hospitality industry standards. Their inability to communicate effectively and address serious food issues is concerning, and inspections should be conducted to address these issues. This place is an embarrassment to their community and our main street and should be closed down immediately. I strongly advise against eating there and will not be returning. I would give this restaurant a rating of less than 0 stars if that were possible, but since it is not, I am giving it a thumbs down.

The proportions are smaller BUT this allows you to sample the whole menu. Go with friends or family who are adventurous and you can eat your way through Thailand. I recommend making reservations as this place is busy. Don’t be scared by reviews claiming the food is too spicy or small; we all left perfectly stuffed. The staff was friendly, too. Oh, and get the pineapple pie with taro ice cream!!
