i always love to go to coffee smith as its very important to me to support small independent businesses. not only is the coffee better quality, but you are supporting a great ethical buisness. great food choices and i really like the atmosphere. my only criticism would be to make milk alternatives free in order to enconurage customwers a more environmental choice to dairy, but i do understand the milk alternatives do cost more so its fairly understandable. the staff are amazing as well.

Speechless…. What can I say, the staff are all wonderful, the pastry’s my goodness I had a almond pastry and it’s by far the best I have ever tasted. Everything is so fresh, done on the day and well made. The best part was my little 🐶 was allowed in and got made the biggest fuss off. Compared to corporate coffee shops this family run business is warm and welcoming. Will be regularly going here.

I spent 7 weeks traveling in the UK and Europe (England, Wales, Scotland, France, Croatia and Italy) By far this was the very best coffee I had anywhere on my trip. I only have one coffee a day, and it's always out, never at home. By the time I was in Oxford I had given up trying to find a decent coffee. I do admit to being from Melbourne, Australia, so I am a coffee snob. Sadly two years ago I developed an intolerance to cow's milk so I now drink almond milk. Often people just cannot get an almond coffee right :( But not here. The coffee was so good I felt like I was home. Everything about it was amazing- taste, creaminess, strength, they just nailed it all. I would have paid $50 for it. We did not eat here as we were there mid morning for a quick break from touring, but the food did look good. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Love this cafe apart from one thing. The music is too loud and not actually needed. Because it’s too load people speak louder. An elderly lady with hearing aids could not hear what the staff member was asking when she was paying. Why the need for music at all?

After a week of eating all over England, the avocado eggs and sourdough toast I had here today was the single best thing I ate the entire trip. I wanted to walk around long enough that I could eat there a second time on the same day but we had to get back to the hotel, otherwise I would’ve just kept ordering it. I can’t recommend this place enough, I’ve never written a review on trip advisor before and probably won’t again unless it tops my experience today.

Not sure why some have a gripe about owners attitude to drinking non purchased drinks onsite-I’m sure that person wouldn’t take a four pack into a pub and expect to drink them there....then to rant on about the quality of food and drink..all just bad feelings and jealous..The regulars know how good the place is-keep up the great work team..

We have been doing our best to support small business through these times, and one of the things we do is to visit the local cafes for coffee and breakfast. We got a coffee from UE this Saturday, and then decided we would go and get some breakfast at coffee smith. We ordered a bacon sandwich to take away and took a seat outside to wait for our breakfast. A rather abrasive man who I assume is the owner, who had been sitting overseeing his lovely staff, proceeded to come out to our table and ask us not to sit at the table as we had coffee from somewhere else. The cups were not branded but he asked us to leave our chairs despite the fact we were waiting for our food to take away. Awful customer service and so unprofessional. I would understand if we were planning on eating there, or if we were not buying anything but we were waiting for our order. As a fellow local business to UE you might think that he would support them.. I believe they even stock UE coffee. I wouldn’t give that man another penny of my money and I think it shows a really bad approach to hospitality. Also if your coffee was made better and you had a better attitude we may have come to you.

We used to love this cafe but it has taken a real dip in recent months. We visited a few months ago and found the cafe really grubby - I decided to give it another go this week to see if it had improved. It hasn’t. The tables were dirty (even after being cleared) and the two young staff were being constantly watched by another member of staff. They were selling Waitrose mince pies (the empty boxes were stacked up behind the till) for £1 each - you can buy a box of 6 for £1.25 at the moment. My toasted sandwich was greasy and soggy, not toasted through, and contained huge slabs of goats cheese. I love goats cheese, but it was far too much. The limp salad garnish was unappetising.

I’ll start with why I gave 4 stars and not the full 5. The cafe is very small and can often feel a bit like you are on top of each other. This is a lovely pub, just as a local should be. The owner is very experienced in the hospitality industry and it shows. The welcome is warm and the Hook Norton beers are well kept. Where they knock the ball out of the park is the food. Fabulous home made generously portioned dishes. Just go, it’s a gem of a place.

Delicious food and cocktails! The alcohol was quite strong and definitely worth the price. Food was amazing, great selection on the menu and everything we ordered came back cooked perfectly. I would highly recommend a visit.

A nice coffee shop situated in the town centre and very popular with locals. They specialise in cakes so the choice of savoury mains is a little limited. Service is brisk.

We went here to get a little desert as we have been to this cafe before and saw it had quite a good range of gluten free options. They didn’t have much left in stock so we were lucky to get what we got.The gluten free cookies were delicious, tasted really fresh and like they were homemade. Also the cake was really lovely too and tasty. They clearly list the allergens of the product on the screen protector thing behind the cakes. Also tell them about any allergies when ordering.I believe their menu is 100% vegan too.The toilets were really clean too.

Our research paid off, ‘tapas’ suggests Spanish style bites however you’ll be met with a great variety of European, Asian & traditional British lite portions, we ordered 3 each plus a side which was spot on & allowed 6 tastes per couple. Add great local beers, we had their own IPA, very busy but the way the dishes came to the table as they were cooked made for a grazing style of very relaxed dining very highly recommend this place but book before hand.
