Coffee Rex in Cardiff

My favourite place to go, fantastic home made food, especially the aubergine bake I'm addicted, always a friendly welcome at Rex, best coffee in Cardiff and the cakes are devine!!! Really fair prices and worth every single penny, great little home from home vibe, so perfect flying solo and with friends, dogs allowed and fussed over :)

Great food and Coffee, Sensible prices. Specifically, The homemade Lasagne is probably the best you'll get! and really good value for money. The owner's great too!. Also sells Italian food products, ingredients and bags of really nice coffee beans.

One of the best coffees in the country; the flat white has a kick and is often served with a warning from the proprietor that it comes with two shots, two serious shots. This is how coffee should taste, not the milky gunk served in 99% of cafes and chains across the UK. Coffee Rex is an appropriate name, this place is the castle of caffeine, the palace of king of coffee.

This coffee shop it the best around. Coffee is fantastic, as is the service. The owner/barista is always helpful and accommodating. The menu is highly variety and the parries exceptional.

Fui allí por primera vez ayer con mi esposa. Ambos tuvimos los canelones, rellenos con un puré de champiñones, seguido de tarta de manzana. Toda la comida es casera, hecha en el lugar por el propietario, no hay comida precocinada calentada en un microondas aquí. Totalmente sencillo, simplemente buena comida en un entorno agradable. Volveré.

El trabajo me ha llevado a todos lados recientemente y, como resultado, he probado numerosos cafés, desde pequeños cafés hasta las grandes cadenas. Andreas todavía hace el mejor café de Cardiff.

Always a warm welcome from Andrea the Italian owner and his staff, lovely home made dishes with eggy break and a lattee my favourite. Very extensive menu for a small local cafe. Comfortable and spotlessly clean.

Popped into Coffee Rex yesterday for a quick bite to eat, had a fresh omelette made for me and probably the best Tiramisu I’ve ever had. Really worth calling in here, especially for the coffee also 👍

We go here quite regularly for Saturday breakfast/brunch. Fantastic coffee and nice food. Love the Italian pastries and cakes too. Owner is a friendly chap. Feels like being in Italy (apart from the weather).

My second visit and not been disappointed. As it says Great Food with Perfect Coffee at a good price. Italian coffee shop run by great Italian staff. Try everything. It’s great.

Regularly pop in here, my current favourite is the omelette and side salad - one of the best salads you'll get in any Cardiff café, really wholesome and plenty of it. Andreas is Italian and knows his coffee, so you'll always get the perfect cappuccino. Coffee Rex is dog friendly, has a relaxed atmosphere and at a time when many people are watching what they spend, here is a place that offers brilliant value for money so you can afford to have those little treats out. Highly recommended.
