I appreciate that people have bad days and 2020 has been awful but what happened was beyond anything I expected. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I am local and popped into the cafe to grab myself a coffee on my way to work. The item cost £2.50 and I handed over £5.50 made up of a note and change (20p of which was in 2p/1p) so far nothing unusual. The owner / employee separated the coppers and threw them into her tip jar and then proceeded to give me the wrong change. When I questioned it I was told that I was not a nice person and why did I think it was possible to pay with this? What was she to do with it? I was really taken aback. I said that it was legal tender and I am allowed to pay with coins. Again I was told that I was “not a nice person and I was rude” I suggested it could be paid into a bank and she yelled “when, when would I be able to do this” and again that I was an awful person. I picked up the £5 note leaving the change and told her that I no longer wanted the coffee and that I couldn’t believe what was happening and that she was the one being rude. As I left the shop she continued to yell at me to “get out of her cafe”. I will never ever go here again.

We often pop down to coffee corner for a light lunch in our working day. We work from home so this has been a good spot for us for some time. This morning we had another excellent meal. Breakfast in the sunshine! Excellent friendly service and very good breakfast. We had our dog with us today and sat on the little pavement patio outside with him. If you're new to working from home and need an escape and a little light meal, try this little spot.
