Lovely little cafe. Nice food and coffee and very well decorated inside. The staff were very friendly particularly a nice young man behind the till. We didn’t even notice there was an outdoor area, but I imagine on a sunny day like today, that would be a lovely place to sit with a coffee.

Lovely coffee ...scones are delicious especially the blueberry and banana ones. Staff always very pleasant and helpful.

Lovely place with a Nice vibe. Teas and coffee are lovely and nicely priced. Scone are served deliciously warm. My other half can't have milk and they provided fresh sliced lemon for her tea. First class service, would highly recommend of you're in the area.

Excellent half hour sat in the sun with a very acceptable cheese and jalapeño scone. Think they are new to the menu? Maybe not. Coffee is always good here.

This place is an absolute gem. My friends are regulars here and I'm lucky to have visited a few times now, each time is honestly great. We love the food, the hot chocolate is to die for. A great place to sit and people watch. Staff so friendly and hard working. A brilliant little place, support local!!

We visited the coffee shop today at 2.45pm to buy drinks and snacks and were told it was take out only. Our assumption was that this meant take out cups could be drank indoors as there was a number of customers seated and plenty of available tables. However, it became quickly clear that we needed to leave the building with our drinks and stand outside. Twenty minutes after standing out in the cold drinking these drinks, we wandered past only to see the majority of people, in there when we were served, were still sat down. The person that served us was both abrupt and unclear because if we had known that we needed to leave straight away, we would have gone elsewhere for drinks. I'll not be going back. There are plenty of other cafes available in the area. I like to support local business, but this one clearly does not want my custom.

Great little coffee shop with outside seating right near the market place ,busy place as it’s so popular with good reason ,the food is excellent obviously coffee is really good ,and the staff are very friendly and helpful ,it just has a nice atmosphere,we called recently it was brilliant weather we sat outside ,felt safe as social distancing is in place and the staff wear the masks and you have to queue to enter the building,which isn’t a problem ,it’s fast moving ,you place your order and pay ,then your food / drink is brought to your table,works very well.

I recently visited Coffee Bank as I heard it had a new owner. I'm so pleased I did! It was great! Coffee was lovely, and the food was delicious, especially for the little price I paid. Would really HIGHLY recommend. I shall now be a regular!

Visited with my grandson and daughter after a look at the diggers on the market place. He loves it here, and always gets a special welcome. The coffee is always excellent, and, best of all, he can see all the buses passing through, so I get chance to drink it in peace!

Really nice cheap little cafe, paid £14 for two lattes, tuna baked taty and a super food chicken salad, everything was really nice.

We call here whenever we're working nearby. Love the place. We've been twice in the last 5 days. I opted for lentil and vegetable soup and cheese and onion toasties. It was a meal deal. Had the same both visits, absolutely gorgeous! Coffee was lovely too. My wife had a brie and bacon panini first visit and a bacon roll and an empire star today. The new manageress is really nice. She will adapt lots of items on the menu, within reason, ie miss this out, or a bit more of that. Lovely comfy place to recharge your batteries, have a quick cuppa or, as we did, have a leisurely meal and a couple of coffees before heading for home, in Roker, Sunderland. I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Fell into The Coffee Bank from a summer rainstorm. Great coffee and croissant and a banana milk shake for my grandson from Australia. Been in here before of course and it never fails to satisfy. Staff work hard and so polite.

Stopped in here for a spot of lunch while we drove through Chester le Street. The paninis and toastie my husband ordered were tasty, my baked potato was delicious with stacks of filling. A great stop.

The food is good, layout is nice. It has just been decorated and unfortunately the white tiles make it look like a public convenience. There is only 1 toilet which is accessible also with baby changing facilities, unfortunately the toilet doesn't have a seat !!

Me gusta ir temprano para conseguir un buen café y un bocadillo de tocino. Personal agradable y amable que traiga su pedido a la mesa. Me gusta el tocino crocante sirven. Buena ubicación, justo al lado de la nueva memorial de guerra donde te puedes sentar y ver el mundo pasar en un ambiente agradable. En el verano puede sentarse afuera.

Ahora que escribo esta crítica con una pizca de hipocresía ya que todo lo que hace de este lugar es su independencia pero tengo una tarjeta de fidelización para los 2 las principales casas de café, pero aquí va. Es una pequeña joya increíble en la calle principal y recuerdo cuando se podía comprar una olla o tetera aquí y han hecho un gran trabajo para convertir una antigua Northern Electric showroom en un peculiar pequeño café. El ambiente es agradable y el lugar tiene una animación ayudado por el atento y agradable personal. Es un buen café y a un precio razonable. No hay prisa para conseguir lejos de la mesa una vez has drena su café latte listos para la próxima persona. De hecho en mis días de estudiante que saltar desde el autobús desde la tarde y sentarse a mediados de Newcastle aquí durante horas con un almuerzo tarde y unos pocos cafés perdido en un buen libro. Y luego, hay las tartas, ir sólo por las tartas si nada más. Este es nuestro pequeño rincón de la cultura del café en chester le Street y el lugar tiene una gran fama. Me encanta!

a couple of weeks ago i won afternoon tea for 2 at this venue i had too book in advance so i phoned and book for tues 7th oct i took my 88 year old mother with me as i thought she would enjoy it .i didnt know quite what to expect as i;ve never done this before and i don;t think i would have if i had;nt won it .we went in and was greeted by the staff and shown to a tablefor two set apart it was very prettily decorated and we sat in winged leather arm chairs very begone days fine china etc we were asked wether we would like tea or coffee and after the drinks were brought out one of the staff brought out a cake stand with little sandwiches cheese and fruit scones and fresh cream cakes everything was lovely .the staff very attendtive on the way home my mum thanked me for a lovely time i would like to recommend you take your mum or grandmothers for a wonderfulafternoon delight
