Great coffee, fantastically polite staff. Staff were sooo busy but still smiled and apologised for short wait. Whole place is clean tidy and well managed.

Thankyou to all the staff for being so good and their tolerance of some exceptionally rude customers...they all work so hard.

As a regular visitor I don’t recognise the negative views expressed by some guests. I go once or twice a week and the staff are excellent. They are friendly and sociable and the ambience is always very good. Coffee and cakes are great and never disappoint. Some people just look for fault when the problem lies with their attitude and demands! Going in late in peak season and expecting to be the centre of attention shows disrespect for the hard working staff. I’ve never seen any of the staff be anything but helpful and professional and I’ve been a regular for many years. Yes it can be very busy at times and occasionally you have a wait but hey, that’s life! Give it a visit and enjoy ………..

The most unreliable and unwelcoming Coffee No 1 in the country. We visited in the week but they closed up half the cafe an hour before closing time and were turning loads of people away saying they were full. Today, at 3.45pm they did the same again even though they were open until 5pm they refused to let us sit on empty chairs and turned us away. We reported the first experience to Head Office but nothing has changed. A waste of a 30 minute drive to come here in the rain for coffee. We went elsewhere as did all the others following us in. Service? I don't think so.

Visited a couple of times on a short break in Cardigan after going for a run. Actually chosen because they were open earlier than other cafe's but lovely service and would chose now later in the day as well!

Didn’t get a chance to try anything. It was busy in one half of the cafe but the other half had tables on chairs. We asked if it was okay to move tables off chairs, to be replied with an unenthusiastic ‘oh, um…. yeah okay’ it’s fine though you got what you wanted, we went elsewhere. If something was happening and that space was being used to something just say ! ‘I'm really sorry but … ‘

The staff are always friendly and welcoming. Go in on a regular basis When we visited yesterday it was extremely busy and there was a shortage of staff but we had a very good level of service as we always do. Their hot chocolate with honeycomb is worth trying.

It could have gone better, there was a bit of a wait due to only one staff member taking the orders and making the drinks all during the lunch time rush… after waiting and finally getting the last drink added to the tray it was time to sit down until the drink fell off the tray, the staff was helpful but stated this normally happens due to the trays? The lost drink was quickly remade which was nice and it was a good rest of the visit Decent selection of food and drinks for what it is and loads of seating! Added bonus for being wheelchair accessible and dog friendly

When visiting the town called in for coffee and cake. Received good service as the cafe was busy with other customers. When in area would visit again

It’s ok, the coffee is quite good, the atmosphere is ok except for the continuous banging of plates cups and spoons, like some dysfunctional automaton. It’s the staff ... quite simply if you don’t want work in hospitality leave ! Don’t impose your sour demeanour on your customers and COVID is not an excuse nor licence to continue with this attitude. May be try a doctors they are always looking for this kind regards f employee

Lovely place for Coffee and Cake but the Sandwiches were awful, watery tasteless chicken and more rocket than NASA. Staff were very disinterested and gave impression they wanted to be elsewhere. However, Cappuccino Cake was stunning and made visit worthwhile.

Popped in twice for coffee and cake while visiting Cardigan & great coffee both times.Cakes have been really good too, with a nice selection to choose from. Did manage to find a seat indoors even during Covid restrictions & they’re are doing a great jo not keeping everything clean and hygienic.

Would I go here again for a coffee? Probably not - the staff where disinterested and didn’t even let us know that our drinks where ready to be collected 3 of us came in, one of our group had to wait outside as there was a swarm of wasps (at least 10 of them) hovering around in the store and another swarm of flies around the air conditioning unit - made us feel very uncomfortable and couldn’t wait to get our drinks and get out of there before we got attacked

Stopped off here on a rainy day. We ordered a large latte, tea, Portuguese tart and a black currant crumble. All were lovely. Cakes were delicious. Would recommend.

While we had to wait for a prescription from the pharmacy opposite we called in here for a drink. Due to the current situation it was very quiet but the staff were lovely and out tea - a pot of tea for 2 with extra hot water was £2.25 which is excellent value.There was a gorgeous array of cakes and pastries - unfortunately we had had a large breakfast at the hotel so resisted temptation.

Always look for a Coffee 1 when I’m staying in a town ! This one is cosy, the service is quick and the coffee is good.

Lovely place for a coffee and cake, a tad expensive. On parr price wise with Costa! I much prefer here! Lovely little areas to sit. Table and chairs, sofas, etc Staff very warm,welcoming and thankful for your custom.

Called in here for a quick cuppa while visiting Cardigan , it’s very pleasant the cakes were really fresh and the staff really friendly , coffee excellent , very nice seating areas to relax or meet friends and on a cold day very inviting and warm ,

Toilet flush not working, staff didn’t seem to care. They were very rude. We try to avoid national chains but won’t be visiting this establishment again.

Honduran coffee and welsh tea cakes were enjoyed here. Comfy couch for the little ones was well used.

I have come here often over the years as I live in the area. I have good memories of after school coffee trips with friends here:) I mostly come here alone now after my weekly morning driving lesson.They have tables and chairs but also cozy seats and sofas so you can visit comfortably alone or in groups of up to 6 or 7. There’s one or two plugs in the cafe as well, so customers can charge their phones etc, which is very handy if you’re out for the day. The price isn’t super cheap, but if you’re sitting in then it’s worth the money. You pay for the nice experience you get. It was £2.85 for my small hot chocolate which I don’t think is too bad. As it is a chain cafe, some people would rather pay this to a smaller business, but I don’t mind it.The staff are very friendly and seem comfortable and happy. I’ve noticed lots of staff have stayed there for a few years so it must be a good workplace for them. Also, in this cafe and other Coffee 1 cafes in Haverfordwest etc. there are a few new staff members and they already seem to be well trained and competent which is a good sign. Disabled access is good, the entire cafe and entrance is flat. There is one unisex toilet and one disabled toilet, which are decent in cleanliness.As I visited in late November there was a Christmas tree by the window and decorations up and they put a nice heart shape in my coffee which all brightened my day.After visiting there is usually a faint smell of coffee on my clothes but its not that bad. That’s the only thing you can complain about really.

This place really needs a back kitchen. I came for a quiet coffee, but clattering equipment and crockery and thundering coffee grinders shattered any hope of serenity. Really, AVOID unless you like your coffee bustling and with a cacophony. It was so bad a dog started howling! That didn’t help.

While looking for a dog friendly cafe came across this large spacious venue. Coffee was excellent with a good range of cake to choose from. Well worth the stop!!

We tried lots of different places in the town for food but wasn't impressed so we went back to our old favourite. Tasty food, excellent service just what we were looking for.

I really can't emphasize how great this place is. Aside from all their food and drink being delicious (especially the matcha!), it's got a great atmosphere and is clean enough for a germaphobe like me to feel comfortable eating there. But what really makes it so amazing is the staff: every single one of them is polite, professional, timely and beyond friendly. The customer service is excellent, from the trainees up to the management, and it really makes me look forward to my daily drink. I've seen them deal with belligerent people and go above and beyond for me and others countless times; I can say that, without a doubt, you won't get better service anywhere else. Everyone there is brilliant, but Luke, Kelly, Jess and Kayleigh are especially great. They give the whole place a great vibe and make me wish I could pop in more often! Definitely need recognition for their commitment to great service. :)

Friendly staff, nice food and drink and comfy seats, what more could you ask for. The maple sauce flapjack I had was delicious (and I am quite the expert on flapjacks having eaten several hundred!!)

2 of us popped in for coffee and cake this afternoon. We each had a piece of carrot cake, there were only 3 pieces left on the tray which probably should have put us off, how long had they been out etc

Wouldn't go to any other place for my morning coffee! Great coffee made just how I like it. Lovely friendly staff and the service is great. The hairy Australian Manager is great with customers and is really attentive to their needs. He also makes a BONZA Cappuccino!!

Cake was nice but the coffee was terrible qurter cup of coffee and then froth to the top, was cold and tasteless. Very dissapointing for my first ever visit proberly will never go back or recommend to anyone!

I think the Manager and staff of our cardigan coffee1 are extremely friendly and it is always a joy to have coffee and a bite to eat there.

Coffee is normally very good in busy times, or when there is a more than 2 staff, I went there the other day I had bit of a headache and a good cup of strong coffee makes all the diffidence, it was quiet inside 2 young female staff and 2 or 3 people it was about 2 clock, about 10 days ago, I ordered a take away black coffee Americano I was given half a cup of coffee, that smelled like constipation in a cup the worst cup of coffee I have ever sipd, I felt like crying when I went back shortly after inspecting the coffee, I was greeted with rudeness and indifference She was more interested in chatting with her boyfriend, who sat on the closest table to the bar, who rudly told me I had to go I was told I had a attitude problem, by the other female staff, I said quite rightly; " When I come to a coffee shop I expect a good cup of coffee"

It was one of the few places we found open in Cardigan on Sunday afternoon (until 17:00). They serve kid chocolates for 95 p, and have some colours and puzzles so kids can distract themselves while parents relax. The cakes are also very good, with prices from 2 to 3 pounds each.

Part of the Coffee#1 chain - which mange to retain the feeling of an independent - I regularly use the Bristol Coffee#1s so was delighted to find that there is one in Cardigan

Came in to your coffe shop about 1pm the young girl with long blonde hair who was serving us was looking like she had been up all night,and constantly on her phone the whole time we were in there. coffe was warm not hot, and my childs milk shake was warm, thought milk shakes had to be cold. Not many clean tables. And not enough staff. This could be a brilliant coffee shop for the cardigan area. Such a shame

I discovered this place through my daughter who would chose this place for its affordability, she would each week go there as a place of refuge while she waited for her after school classes to start in the depth of winter. When I accompanied her for the first time I asked her what she usually got and she said if she had money she loved their hot chocolate but if not she just sat there! I was astonished and delighted that she had been allowed to do this and immediately fell in love with the place. I now meet her there most weeks and together we indulge in their offering of great drinks, and very friendly service.

I visit coffee#1 Cardigan at least once a week. I always get an excellent, fast service from the staff who are always very friendly and helpful.

Nice Coffee Shop on the High Street with a good variety of drinks and cakes available. Tasty cappuccino in comfortable surroundings with friendly staff. I could have spent hours sitting on the comfy chairs relaxing with a coffee and newspaper.

We are regularly in Cardigan and always make a pint of visiting coffee number 1, good quality coffee and a great choice of delicious cakes, because coffee is too wet without cake. Great polite staff, and good service. Not the cheapest but still good value for money. Thoroughly recommend this coffee shop

I came to Coffee #1 today alone... For the first time in two years, because today my little boy started nursery. It felt wrong , leaving him behind today and I was hoping that he didn't feel as lost as I did.

We live in the city and are used to visiting at least two coffee shops a day. This is the worst coffee shop ever visited. Coffee no.1 isn’t our favourite anyway but it’s the only big one in cardigan.

Visited twice for coffee, cakes and drinks with the family in the past week. Coffee was substandard, children had frappes (which were almost £4) which they enjoyed with Welsh cakes which were very nice.

The coffee was fine but the cherry frangipange tart had no almond and no cherry, just a smear of jam across the top inside a dense filling. I'd also be slightly concerned at any high street outlet with less than 5 star hygiene rating.

Regularly visit the area and have visited coffee No.1 Cardigan a number of times. We are coffee lovers and visit coffee shops most days back home. The service in this store is absolutely disgusting. Each time I visit staff seem slow and unable to understand basic orders such as 1 regular soya cappuccino, 1 skinny latte and 1 pot of tea without getting something wrong! The coffee is cold and the atmosphere uninviting with the staff either being unhelpful or too in your face pushing to upsell you different coffee blends, more cakes etc. I understand they need to push the business but it comes across too forceful. After a number of times returning to see if the service has changed and finding it the same I will be going somewhere else from now on. This store is giving the brand a bad name!

Visit here whenever I can, two choices of strong coffee for my macchiattos ( or is it macchiatti?) Open area and open wood tables, chairs and floors with lots of atmosphere.

I have been on holiday to cardigan for the past 4 years.

I've been here quite often over the last 12 months or so. I've been here the last 2 days, just for a cappuccino. I just feel so sorry for the 2 staff on duty, different ones on each day. There doesn't seem to be any sign of a manager to give them support on a busy day.

Right in the town center , home made cakes are delicious. Staff there very friendly and helpful.Daily newspapers on hand so leave your partner there and go and enjoy some retail therapy.

Visited here on a 550 miles cycling tour of the Welsh coast, so plenty to compare against and quite simply this was the best caffè latte anywhere. A very friendly a knowledgeable Australian barista, delicious cakes and a roomy, rustic interior that might be a little dark on a sunny day, although offering welcome shade when it's really hot. Find it on the high street of this small but quaint town. An excellent find. Oddly there are branches in Cardiff and Carmarthen so maybe it's only towns in Wales commencing CA!

My wife and I were both surprised at just how good our Mocha and Skinny Hot Chocolate were. Barista even asked me whether I wanted mine mellow or sharp. Nice to see a coffee shop other than Starbucks, Costa, Nero etc having a major position on a high street and delivering better than they do. Top notch. .Keep up the good work !

Went here yesterday and was served by an Australian man with curly hair (don't know his name), he was so helpful and passionate about his coffee, even convincing my husband to have his without sugar in(!).

1115 Tuesday cup of Americano tasted like burnt mud it was silt like disgusting! This was stewed and not fresh. I asked for it to be topped up with water and it was still revolting.. shame as everything else looked good.

Warm, welcoming atmosphere, lovely home-made flatbreads and paninis, coffee you’d travel a long way to enjoy, beautiful cakes and fruit smoothies, lovely eclectic interior decoration, and above all, hard-working, busy, friendly staff. And all set on one of Britain’s most unspoilt, traditional high streets.

Really enjoyed eating here. The veggie soups were delicious and the drinks fresh and great quality. Lovely quotes and photos on the wall. The true star was the manager who was just being so nice to his staff. Only No No was the automatic plastic straw in the cold drink. About time coffee no #1 sacked the plastic!

Coffee is excellent, and the staff are always friendly and approachable. The ambience is great - I find it a good place to do a bit of work on my laptop, or meet with friends, both of which I've done quite a few times (as I live locally).

Really good coffee, great ambience, been here lots of times, can get busy and sometimes can’t find a great seat. If I had to be really picky it would be nice to have a breastfeeding room.

Frappe was not even cold! For sure it's not their speciality. Don't ask a frappe! I believe everything else might be ok

Nothing worse than being rushed to finish your drink and leave the building like an unwelcone visitor 2 minutes before the advertised closing time. 6pm is the time you stop accepting customers not the time customers have to vacate the premises. The cappuccino was a latte and the raspberry ice tea was awful. As it was the end of the day I shouldn't expect the cakes to be fresh. Not going to rush back in a hurry. Bring back 25 mile.

Came in here for a coffee on a visit to Cardigan. We usually do Costa and this was as good. Nice decor and seating, clean toilets. Never heard of this chain before but overall seem on the ball.

Went here on sunday6th aug with my partner i ordered the caramel dream and my partner had latte .with carrot cake and caramel shortcake .The caramel dream was yummy far superior to one i had at a more popular coffee shop last week.Our bill came to about 9 pound .brilliant value for money .wish they had an outlet in leeds Thankyou

In area on holiday visited twice for coffee and cake. Love the fact it wasn't one of the big names. Staff very smiley and helpful. Liked the way it had been set up created a relaxed atmosphere

We stopped here when coffee and cake were needed. There were four adults and three kids (which included a baby) and there was plenty of room and a high chair for us all, even with a push chair.Don't get put off by the dark dingy appearance it gives when you look at it, there is life in there!Coffee was good, but my flapjack was really hard and cold. Had to wait a couple of hours to eat it!. The others had smashing cakes though.

The best tasting coffee I have ever had, the staff are friendly and helpful, the decor adds to the atmosphere winch all together results in a great place for a coffee. The pastries are great too.

Popped in here for the very first time for a coffee and snack on a very busy Saturday lunchtime, lovely quirky surroundings, had the sausage baps which were very nice but the cappuccino and carrot cake were to die for. The nicest cappuccino I have ever had, the carrot cake just accompanied it perfectly, I can't wait to go back again. The staff very pleasant and helpful, young lady delivered everything I ordered on a tray to our table for us with a smile.

Stumbled on this place as it was one of the only places open on a Sunday in the village - it was mothers day and we were looking for a sunday lunch and were starving. The staff were pleasant the drinks were good and the decor was really nice. I had a salmon muffin which was lovely and my partner had a pulled pork bun - the pulled pork was more like sandwich spread and most unappealing but the bun was nice. Like I said we were starving and couldnt find a sunday lunch on mothers day of all days so we were thankful that it was open.

First of all, the coffee is lovely - no problems there. The environment is relaxing, if a little gloomy but the lack of staff let's the place down. Heaps of used cups & trays left everywhere meant the place looked untidy and meant that customers were having to clear away themselves so they could have a table. The lack of staff also meant a long queue.

I usually like to find independent coffee houses but that was a struggle during my recent visit to Cardigan. So I, reluctantly, went to #1 and was very pleasantly surprised. In fact it was probably the best flat white and delicious slice of cake I have had in any chain. The coffee was just the right temperature, difficult with flat whites 'cos they are often served far too hot, and the cake was light and fresh. The interior is pleasant with a sense of space and warmth, the staff friendly. Lovely. Went twice.

Stopped in here for a snack and a coffee , lovely coffee and delicious sausage sandwiches would of given 5 stars but no wifi which is a shame because this area has little or no mobile signal and would be nice to catch up on emails while having a coffee. We certainly enjoyed well worth a stop

We went here for a light lunch and a coffee. The coffee was ok with a wide variety of beans and styles of coffee. The decor was nice and it had a good vibe to the place. Everything was clean and tidy and the staff were friendly.One of us had a Mediterranean vegetable panini. That was very nice but it cost over 5 pounds. Way over priced in my opinion.I had. Salad. There were three types of salad on my bowl. Wild rice and feta, pasta and red pesto and potato salad.I sent the first bowl of salad back as it was served hot. I have never heard of people heating up a cold pasta salad, but that I was what they do at this coffee house as standard. The did prepare me a new bowl and serve it cold with no problems or fuss.The salads as it turned out were very poor. The potatoes were over done, the pasta had gone hard and the rice and feta was a collection of ingredients in the same bowl, not really a dish as such.For one coffee, one salad bow a nod one panini it was over 12 pounds. Not here at value for money but if the salad bowl had been a s good as the panini then it might have been worth it.
