Cod's Plaice Fish and Chips in Barnet

Very delicious fish and chips!!! Also, very generous portions… We are locals, but today for the first time we visited the shop with my family, and we really loved it 🥰

*Don't waste your time coming here* My friend and our children came to get some chips.. the guy only took my order and said we'd have to wait and then told my friend to wait 5 minutes.. when I paid for my chips she wanted to place her order and he became very rude and abrupt.. he said it was her fault she never placed an order.. this guy has zero customer service and we WE WILL NOT be ordering from here again.. what an absolute joke

Had me standing for 20 mins in the shop didn’t take order and the thought I was standing in there for the fun of it and he was sooooo rude!!

Worst chips ever. Dry and overcooked. So hard I actually cut the inside of my mouth with a chip! Food looked as if it had been refried more time then there are leaves on the trees. DO NOT EAT Here! Highly disappointing

Worst chips ever. Dry and overcooked... ended up in the bin. Bought via Uber Eats where they are rated 4.9 but you can't leave a rating after ordering! Disappointed and definitely will never buy from here again.

Just bought some chips from there. We literally live around the corner. Very disappointing. Luke warm, stale and soggy. Some of the chips have obviously been in the fryer a good few times. I won't be going again.

An excellent Fish and Chip shop serving fish freshly fried to order in a crisp and light batter that is delicious. The portions are ample and very reasonably priced. Very well worth waiting for if there is a queue, and there sometimes is, because of the high quality of food! This is the only Fish and Chip shop we use because it is the Best.!

This has to be the best fish and chips in Barnet, consistent delivery every time. Fish served with skin off in a lovely light batter. Owner takes pride in the quality of the food, and cooked to order.

It is rare to find a decent chippy in London these days but Cod's Plaice is one of them, serving an excellent range of traditional chip shop fayre. Our fish was cooked to order and tasted very fresh and light with a tasty, crunchy batter, while the chips had great texture and taste. The owner is very polite and friendly, very professional too. Highly recommend this local gem. 👍😊

Lived in Barnet many years, did not know about this place. Top notch fish and chips, deliciously battered haddock and perfectly fried chips. Lovely people, husband and wife team. Would not go anywhere else

Very friendly owner, fish always cooked to order, very fresh. Worth waiting though, you can ring ahead to pre-order to shorten the wait. Great portion size and reasonable price. Unfortunately no tatare sauce that day!

The owners of the restaurant pay big attention to tidying up the place, it's spotless. Sausages, chips and fried chicken was really good and tasty . But variety of chicken pieces was poor, they only had side breasts and wing. No hot wings on offer. Also I'd say isn't the cheapest fish and chips but I guess you pay here for quality.

This is the cleanest place to eat around here. Good portions of food. Tasty. The gentleman in there is professional and polite. Good value for money and really surprisingly nice and clean.

Its okay I guess. Nothing special or amazing. Asked for chicken leg piece and got breast, asked for half pounder and got it plain, no veg whatsoever, not sure if it is standard or you need to specify you want slice tomato or lettuce inside. Overall average.

Easily the best fish and chip shop for miles! Good value, good food and friendly customer service. Would highly recommend. Orders can also be placed over the phone in advance of collection if you're in a hurry.

Just finished my third fish and chips from here and, as before, it was perfect. Fresh tasting, soft and battered to perfection fish, with a generous and well-cooked portion of chips. Being from the North, both me and my partner have struggled to find a decent chippy in London- and we have tried and tried and looked and looked! The service is friendly, the shop clean and the value brilliant. (£5 for a massive fish and chips!) Highly recommend!

Really great food! The fish and chips are exceptional.. Fresh skinless fillets in a very nice batter always cooked freshly.. Not oily like your typical fish and chips. Really clean place as well.. Always tidy. The staff are really helpful and knowledgable.. Really love this fish and chip shop. The best in Barnet.. 👍🏼
