Cod City is a really nice chip shop that has the best BBQ Donner in Birmingham, by far. The fish is really amazing, pure cod and chips are on point. The food and service was really on top.

Lovely place and always on point with the food, mix panini was lovely as was the toasted cod wrap, service good just takes a little long to get food but they ate so busy, have a lovely family area as well so ladies feel comfortable.

Heard good things about this plaice, I mean place, pun intended 😏 😉 😜. Second visit and I have to admit that it is nice. Staff are decent and order accuracy was very high. We ordered the speciality, BBQ donner and chips which goes nicely with chipotle sauce. Simply lovely 😍. The chicken burger was tasty 😋. The peri peri whole chicken was fresh and prepared nicely. Word of warning ⚠️; don't go with your family too late as there is lots of men there. Only consolation is the family room but it isn't as appealing as the general seating area. Overall l can't wait to try the BBQ donner and chips 😋. I would recommend this place to all whom adore donner kebab, especially with the BBQ twist.

Had amazing food here. The spicy bbq donnar here is unbeatable. Portion are quite generous the peri peri chicken platter was amazing. Has a family room where u can sit and eat with ur family. Highly recommended. Only fow side is as its on a small side rd parking is an issue.

Been going here for the past 6 years atleast. The cod fish here is the number 1 in Birmingham. Chips with the Cajun sauce is the most elite combo. The donner meat is always full of flavour to. Highly recommend.

Food is absolutely great, fresh and always hot. The customer service is extremely good, the waiting time is not alot, the portions are what you paid for is what you get, extremely filling will definitely come here again and an inspiring quote on the wall in the family room!

We are regulars here..for years now, every week without fail. But not anymore... Last Saturday fish batter was raw . So we thought we'll stick with Friday and it might have been a one off on Saturday. However the fish batter was again raw and ended up in the bin. I'm so disappointed and I've completely gone off Cod city.

Used to be the best BBQ donner place in Birmingham however it’s gone rapidly downhill over the last year. Increasingly they give portions leftover from other orders rather than preparing your food fresh and the guy at the counter doesn’t follow instructions (I.E add chilli and mayo). Last week was the final straw when I ordered 2 Cod and chips, a burger meal, and BBQ donner and chips and every single person felt the food was off. The chips were undercooked and the BBQ donner was barely BBQ, sadly I won’t be coming here anymore.

Not sure if there been changes in management but food didn't seem great as it did when I last visit few years ago. Will try again might have been the time of the night I visited.

I usually go to this place on a weekday when it’s not as busy and the customer service is good however on the weekend they seem to have no control leading the workers to have an and negative attuide towards customers. Best advice go on weekdays avoid weekends

Good food. Bbq donner is same as le codfather, which isn't a bad thing. Grilled chicken burger was good but there are better versions out there. Overall I was pleased with my food and recommend it and I'd order again.

One of the best chippies in Birmingham. The OJ of the BBQ doner game, this place used to be called lecods back in the day and after a few ownership changes they're back to quality food. The fried chicken is also a really good shout with their Cajun sauce. In the chicken panini they chop the chicken up abit too much so it doesn't have much texture.

Atmosphere was great and came as a shock to me to see it light up at night compared to daytime. Service was friendly and they greet you with a smile as you walk in. Food is affordable when compared to other places around even though Chicken was a bit dry on the inside but i definitely will visit again. other payment options could be considered as well.

Being called Cod city you'd think their cod dishes would be really good. Ironically its not the cod dishes but the other things that are better. BBQ dinner is a must try

I remember an old saying ‘great food takes time’ but what happens if the food isn’t great anymore? It’s just ‘takes time’ left, which in this case you’ve got people waiting for what? I don’t need to answer that. Sort the quality and consistency out and make sure customers are getting served quick and correct. This isn’t a restaurant, it’s a takeaway…..and the fish has downsized soo much it’s almost like your handing out battered anchovies.

I was impressed with the variety and quality of the food. The staff was very friendly and understanding. They actually went out of the way to make me fresh cod & chips. Without a doubt they make the best peri peri burger in town. The family friendly atmosphere was a big plus point. The dine-in experience was excellent where they had provided proper ceramic plates with cutlery. I was surprised with the variety of food they are offering. Will definitely try other items next time.

Alhamduillah. Was a good experience at Codcity. We ate the softest, most perfect cod fish. A tasty hot dog too. All flavours were on point. Staff were friendly and efficient. The food was ready within 10 mins of ordering . Would defo recommend and defo be back.🤩

A local favourite in this area, not been for years since they changed their name, ordered food for lunch. A nice combo meal of bbq donner, chips and cod. Tasted really nice, but rated 4 stars rather than 5 as I still think the original LeCod bbq donner at the other Sparkbook branch is a little better than here.

Ordered the fish and chips, chicken burgers and chicken roll. Food was fresh, tasty with nice portion size. The guys were busy but very efficient and waiting times were not long.

Large bbq donner in pitta, usually 4/5 stars but recently noticed the bbq donner lacks bbq flavour which is a shame as it used to be amazing. Another thing I don't like is that they place the lettuce etc on top, would be better inside the pitta.

These guys are just rude half way through serving you they go on to the next customer that Is rude or they taking P. Poor service just interested in your money than you as a customer. Please avoid if you can this place has really gone 👎hil.

Went recently for the first time. Donner meat and chips were decent but unfortunately the fish and chips were very poor. At first I thought they'd forgot to put the fish in , but after moving the chips there was a fish the size of fish finger, batter was soggy and seemed like it had been sitting for a while. Also this is cash only place and in this day and age you would expect to be able to pay via card/ phone. The prices are quite high and on that basis taking everything into account I can't give more than 2 stars.

Fresh food, went during lunch time

The food is amazing, but sometimes the men jump the queue, and i ain't a fan of that. As soon as they speak arabic, then i know i dont have a chance to get a say in. The brothers here try their best to get your food asap. But again its the customers who do their head in about missing items even though they know they didn't order it. Food is exceptional, and I'm not going to lie there. I travel from ward end to here quite regularly too, so i dont mind. I will even drive and bring the food back home if i have to because thats how hot their food stays. Few times ive double checked the prices, but i feel like the prices are correct. They never overcharge you for anything. I wish the sauce tuba were slightly bigger, so i dont need to ask for 3 sauces. Overall, it was great service, just the customers who jump the queue you should be aware of.

There are a good bunch but the problem is when they make your food half way through serving you they forget about you an start serving another customer which I find very RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL come on guys take this feed back on board. At times I feel like not coming back again. Wednesday 25th January 2023 Went in to Cod City And the service was so bad and only 3 members of staff poor approach this place should be closed down please AVOID this shop if you can or if you like wating 1 hour for your food an have the time on your hands than your choice.

Tried this place because i seen good reviews on tiktok but honestly the bbq donner was too sweet and just thickly cut i prefer a more smokey bbq flavour and thinly cut donner. The cod fish was not flaky, it was lost in the thick mushy batter which wasn't thin and crispy enough. Chips were okay. Nicest thing actually was the chicken panini hence the stars.

I have visited this establishment on many occasions and have always been satisfied with the food they provide. The only negative is the atmosphere - plenty of local 'roadmans' which make the shop not a go to place if you are taking your family out for food.

I love eating here, I go to a nearby church and also stops over here for their kebabs after and their cod fish, those two things I get here are amazing, they staff are really nice and considerate, polite and professional, they get busy, but the food is worth the wait and the price is amazing, compared to other nearby food shops in that area with just absolutely terrible customer service, THEY ARE AMAZING period, I will continue to have my Sunday lunch here and will update my food picture when next I visit. Well done COD City.
