Cocket Hat in Aberdeen City

Went for a carvery,the meat portions very small.Chef was reluctant to serve food in a pleasant manner.Instead we noticed he was in a hurry to pack the left overs for ‘Too good to go’

Really disappointing after having two carveries from two other similar establishments. The beef looked awful and fatty and asked for it to be taken off my plate. The veg looked sorry for it self and who has tinned sweetcorn with a carvery? Boiled peas and carrots not very appealing. The turkey was quite dry. The gravy congeled. All very sorry for itself. £6 for one course for under 6 is very steep considering even the higher end restaurants across Aberdeen offer two courses for that price. Annoyed we used our dine out voucher on this place and would have asked for a refund otherwise. Also because no smokers were using the designated smoking area but just the garden benches for the restaurant that other diners (us with a toddler) were at. Not good.

Attentive staff (Eoghann) and good food. Fairly priced.

Home atmosphere! Warm and welcoming!

With my family within last minute we decided to have Easter dinner at Toby Carvery Cocket Hat it was lovely, staff put so much effort to make the restaurant busy - they dress they dance interact with guest and people.. I promise them that I will leave review - but I was busy. Thank you Tommy, Emily, Patrycja.

went to Toby @cocket hat only wanted a light meal had the prawn cocktail and the popping chicken was very nice was made most welcome Tommy my server was very polite 👌 well done too all in kitchen for prepairing my light lunch will return again for a carvery soon 😀

Thank you to the Cocket Hat for saving the day after the terrible service we received at Buckie Farm. The staff were very pleasant and the food was great.

Very little food in the hot plate at 10am. One member of staff looked and went to the kitchen. A second staff member checked the hot plate and went to the kitchen. No communication with the people standing in the queue for service and takeaway. Third staff member then apologised for the delay will be another 5 mins. We had already been waiting 5 mins.

Lovely little Toby, typical, but, somehow managed to appear to be brighter than most, I say this because most of the Toby restaurants we have visited have been dimly lit, this one was lovely and clean, amazing staff, food was good, can't fault it.

Compliments to Ewan for doing a great Job.. we caught him at a busy time and he was on top of everything! Thanks! Carvery is good value, certainly fills you up and at the price there is nothing to complain about.. and the coffee is pretty decent too. If you like pub grub its a good option..

Was their for breakfast at 10 am ,they were cleaning so wet floors,sign a good bit away from floor that was wet they need more signs or people will fall.allso the hoovering was done then my niece tripped on the wires a couple of times, it was not safe or quiet you had to shout to your family over the noise of the hoover, why these things are not done before the place opens I don’t know,

Average all round, which is what you'd expect really. Ate here a couple of times and one night was better than the other, it depends how long the meats and sides have been sitting out. Don't go when it's too quiet or the dishes will be dried out.

What a total disgrace of a place. Definately not worth a penny. Menu states minimum of 3 meats but woman carving tells me i can have more than 3. Veg was still raw. Roast potatoes certainly do not see the oven. 3 pots of gravy sitting with thick skin on them. I have never heard or seen of having mac n cheese with a carvwry but need to to make the plate look like it has food on it. When complained about it the server just looked at us as if to say so what. £14.49 each x3 £4.05 for a refill glass and machine is flat. If i had it my way and my partner wasnt such a coward i would have walked out and never paid a penny. Can rest assure we will never step foot in that establishment again. 1 star is being generous only to be able to make a review

In fuzzy Eds play house with the kids and having a blast. We have had a warm welcome by eoghann and he was brilliant with the children. Thanks for being a great server. We will be back

Broken toilets,staff forgetting drinks,food was lukewarm at best,mac and cheese had no cheese, no gammon at 6pm on a Friday night, mash was tasteless, not enough meat on plate.

I had an unexpected stay overnight nearby, so popped in for an impromptu, Toby Carvery. The atmosphere was electric, the assistance and service was absolutely perfect, and the food was pretty good. It was maybe a bit cold, but good anyway. Next time I'm in the area.

My granddaughter had a great experience in fuzzy ed's. Would highly recommend it to all parents/grandparents. Eoghann was very helpful at reception making us feel very welcome.

Staff seemed very nice but a little rushed/understaffed making things a little slower. Carvery food was great but carving chef didnt seem to happy, my partner ordered the roast dinner sandwich and found it a bit dry but then realised afterward it was meant to come with gravy whoch was not provided and the pigs in blanket also wasent given on plate. By this point we accepted it as the meal was already finished but had those items been given as they should be the meal may have been improved and more enjoyable so would recommend staff to ensure they are providing all items in the future. All in all a good visit though and we will return. All in all was a good visit

Giving hardly any meet on the carvery it's shocking basically paying for a plate of vegetables

Had a really good Sunday lunch here Roast beef .pork .turkey. Gammon and lamb roast spuds carots parsnip cabbage. cauliflower. peas.brussles yourkshre puds excellent value for money. Add on Went for Sunday lunch again and was disappointed. The cheff was frightened to give us any meat she cut it thinner than you would get on a deli counter . Veg looked shrivelled patoaties looked black wasn't enjoyable.

The carvery was noncence The lady on the carvery had never cut meat before in her life I had turkey and beef I got 2 small pieces of Turkey small pieces of beef due to her bad carving my wife was the same issues The lady never spoke not a word was said ie afternoon your meal nothing The veg had been on the hot plate for longer than it should have been without been refreshed the mash potatoe was like cement could not get it off the serving spoon Gravy was warm so out of 10 I would give you a very generous 2

Service is very poor banging and crashing around getting the breakfast stuff out for the next day while you’re eating your meal Customers having conversations on their speakerphone, Yorkshire puddings full of oil food very dry not much choice the place looks tired and rundown

The gravy was spilled all inside the bag, covering everything and leaving none to go on my dinner

Went for carvery lunch.greeting and shown to table promptly and soft drinks order given.approached carvery counter and after several minutes wait chef arrived and served our meat and helped ourselves to vegetables.arrived back at table food was tepid/ cold .waitress took food away .no apolige given just told to go bsck to carvery and take snother serving did not see point in this as next.meal would still hsve been same .drank soft drink paid and left disappointed.

A nice carvery dinner on a Monday evening. A good server as well. Decor looks a little shabby bit quality of food was good. Very nice slightly spiced Apple Pie.

I'm lost for words never seen anything like it service was terrible tea and coffee were cold portions of meat from carvery were tiny and cold the only thing that was hot briefly was the gravy got to be the worst place I've ever eaten used to be really good couple years ago but would never go back after today 19/1/25

Fuzzy eds softplay was brilliant - really glad we came. You can have your meal while the little ones can run around and let off some steam.

App delivery time kept changing back and forth, but was on time. Aside from the potatoes, food was basically the fat left from the meat cuttings noone sitting-in would have accepted with a side of boiled cabbage. From the content of what I received you would easily think the person preparing the order had a personal hatred of me, though I doubt I've ever met them, just makes them a miserable person to provide something so stingy!

Delivery amazing considering the weather. Huge amount of food in the breakfast and rolls were packed too. Will definitely go back.

Booked a table and when we arrived we had to find our own seats and then clear our own table before sitting down, server had open wounds on hands with no plasters on, had a table of 11 and no one was happy with the food, all cold and undercooked.

Wouldn’t trust the reviews on here, we were offered a discount to leave a good review before we have even had food, cutlery not clean and staff has bad attitudes, food was horrendous, meat was just fat

Carvery choice was good but luke warm. No steam rising. Yorkshire pudding club wrap could do with more Mayo. Asked server for some more but it didn't arrive. Mac n cheese needs more flavour, quite bland. Server was polite and friendly. Lovely clean space to catchup with family. Had a good time. Just small things that prevented 5 stars in all areas.

Hello, Apart from one tough tattie a lovely carvery just before Xmas👍.

I would never normally complain but the Carvery was awful 2 tiny pieces of beef which was mostly fat and tough as leather couldn’t eat it . over cooked vegetables , macaroni had no taste, think they forgot to put the cheese in it

Now, if you were to ask me about my experience at Toby Carvery this evening, I would say it was absolutely sublime. The reason for this, above and beyond the food, is of course Patricia. Lunch,29/11/24. Friendly waitress, food cold. Poor size portion of meat. Oversize Yorkshire brittle, obviously bought in frozen. Plenty of vegetables. Non alcohol drinks very expensive.

The chef screwed up with the crumble we asked for toffee apple crumble and we were given plum apple crumble and did not notify us and if that had went downhill with allergies they would have been in a lot of trouble

This type of food doesn't work as a takeaway. Everything was cold, gravy congealed and it was just a mess
