Terrible service, asked for Prosecco/Cava it was served warm and flat and not inexpensive when I complained barmaid gave me another out the same bottle it was warm and flat!!! Asked her for another from a new bottle then she had a tantrum slammed new stemmed glass on the bar so hard it smashed to pieces!!!!! Lovely girl such a credit to your bar!!!

Come da titolo. Da non confondere da un locale omonimo in un altra zona di Londra. Molto validi gli interni in legno. Accoglienza disinteressata. Menù classico da pub con beveraggi in abbondanza e lista menù ridotta ovvero con soliti classici come fish & cips (buono) burgher ed apetizer. Prezzi nella media. Non male.

I love this place. It has a really good relaxed atmosphere, nice staff, very welcoming. And a safe coat check. They play a fun mix of music, and once the dancefloor gets going, its a fun place to be.

Excellent. Traditional style pub. Had lunch there. Polite and friendly staff. Food excellent. Happy to recommend. We had scampi and chips. Generous size meal.

Just paid £22.80 for two double rum and cones - absolutely outrageous! The barman said he had earned £40 in tips yesterday. He must have wealthy clientele.

During the day it might feel a little lacking in atmosphere here, since there’s no music and the wooden decor doesn’t make for the cosiest of vibes, However there’s come comfortable seating and the staff are super friendly. As a day-time pit stop I’d happily return.

I went into this pub about 13.15 on a Thursday. It’s a Sam Smith’s pub so has all their usual beers. It wasn’t crowded but quite busy. Despite this there was only one server behind the bar. I had to wait over five minutes to be served while she served other customers. Two potential customers left while I was waiting. Twice while I was there she went upstairs to bring down food. I have no criticism of the server, she did her best but it’s poor management not to have enough staff on.

Our first shopping trip to Oxford Street in two years - got to lunch and did not fancy a "chain" bite, so walk into the streets around and found this pub. The pub is well presented, clean and light inside. The main ground floor bar was empty but we were told lunches were served upstairs. Upstairs bar also empty, but ordered two hot sandwiches - one scampi and one sausages. We had a drink while we waited for the lunch which came in a reasonable time. Both hot sandwiches were hot - very tasty and just what we fancied at the time. From our limited experience all was fine - the menu is limited, which was fine for us.

I tried to pop in to a very empty Cock Tavern at 1pm today (Saturday 9th April) to grab some food with my sister and children. We opened the door and pushed the buggy through. The bar man said “no buggies” and told us to leave. I responded that it wasn’t inclusive practice and indicated that the pub was empty. “No buggies” If the pub had been busy, I would have understood (although still disagreed with the practice of No buggies) but it was empty. Another customer popped his head out of the door once we had left and recommended a pub down the road! A shame as I’ve frequently visited Samuel Smith brewery pubs in years past but shan’t be visiting one anytime in the near future.

The bar staff was extremley rude. I asked for a diet pepsi, when she filled up my glass it was transparent, obviously the syrup had run out. I very politely let her know that it looked like the syrup had gone. Her response was extremley rude "it came out of the pump, that's the way it comes out!" ... " It's not syrup it's pepsi, look it says pepsi on the pump" ... Her tone was condescending and rude and she would not listen to me when I tried to explain to her that the syrup had gone and she was talking to me as though I was stupid for suggesting that there was even such a thing as syrup. She then insisted I tasted it, and she insisted it was the glass making the pepsi look like that (how does a glass make something look transparent ?!). I couldn't believe she made me taste it when it was obviously barely coloured tap water but I did just to humour her and yep it tasted like soda water. She still didn't understand what I was talking about and continued to patronise me as though I was been daft for suggesting that the coke had run out. She then finally admitted that she never worked in a pub before "I don't know anything about syrup that's just the way it comes out I've never worked on a pub before". I can sympathize with someone who has never worked in a pub before but then you need to be humble and listen to the customer not rude and arrogant. Needless to say I walked out and will never return again.

Lovely looking pub. Absolutely beautiful. That being said, the last two times I went there to get a meal the kitchen was closed. It’s not a crime but when you advertise that you have food to sell in the kitchen is open , it’s a little frustrating when you go in and they tell you “actually the kitchen is closed.” Then maybe DON’T ADVERTISE THAT YOU ARE SELLING FOOD OUTSIDE IF THE KITCHEN IS CLOSED!! Seriously annoying. go there for drinks as it’s a beautiful pub but don’t expect to be fed

Is there a problem. Was the answer when i asked for a slice of lemon for my drink. If i had said yes the answer still would have been no as they never had any . Cant belive a pub has no lemon .there is shoos around to buy. With the pubs being shut for so long .this isnt a good start So i wont be going back.ill find a pub with staff that isnt rude and has lemon.

There are not many places in London I could give five stars - but The Cock is surely an exception. Incredible staff, even better beer, and an unforgettable atmosphere. The perfect place to reconnect with your favorite people. And the first place I recommend to my friends.

Don’t be fooled by all of the plug points that you can see through the windows of the pub. Once you sit down with your drink you are told that hey are purely decorative and not for their customers use!
