Brilliant place for a chilled drink and the food is deliciously well made. The staff are amazing Shout out to Maddie, Lucas and Laura, who took extra awesome care of us.

Just a friendly, welcoming atmosphere on the part of customers in line (our first visit) as well as staff. Could take family friends or coworkers and feel at home. Had the shepherds pie (with real lamb) and the steak and ale pie (spouse). Both were OUTSTANDING. Enjoyed beer and Italian Pinot Grigio. Will go back soon!

Six of us went to the Cock and Lion for refreshments after attending a concert at the Wigmore Hall. We went to the lovely dining room upstairs . The waitress went to great trouble to see that we all had what we ordered and were perfectly happy! On another occasion we were downstairs in the main pub area. That is very nice too!

Was in yesterday only for a drink and have to say mine hosts were fantastic really friendly and attentive to everyone in the bar while having to keep track of covid restrictions. They could not have been more helpful when I had issues with payment card. Also loved the piped music being played at a nice level.I will def be back this is a wee gem of a pub

My partner and me booked in for Sunday lunch and from the moment we arrived the service was superb. We chose the Cock & Lion as they have vegan options. Our server was Jordan and was very attentive. The social distance measures were all adhered to and the place was clean. The food was delicious and plentiful. We both had the vegan roast and were not disappointed.

Vine aquí con mi esposo en una visita improvisada, y me alegro de haberlo hecho. La comida era increíble. Tuve una cena de rosbif que venía con todos los adornos. Algunas de las mejores patatas asadas que he probado. Mi esposo comió una hamburguesa con queso y dijo que era la mejor hamburguesa que había comido en mucho tiempo y es un verdadero conocedor cuando se trata de hamburguesas. Los postres eran igual de deliciosos, un brownie de chocolate para mí y una gloria para él. Para colmo, el servicio fue absolutamente excelente y este es definitivamente un lugar seguro de Covid para visitar. Recomendaría al 100% este lugar.

Pasé por este lugar, revisé las últimas críticas de Trip Advisor y decidí darle una oportunidad.El miembro del personal que nos atendió fue extremadamente agradable, miró y ordenó el menú, nuestra elección inicial de vino no estaba disponible, por lo que ofreció otra opción que tenían. 1 plato de la calle llegó cóctel de gambas agradable y sabroso. Conseguí mi bistec inicialmente bien, pero casi un tercio del bistec estaba gordo y cartílago.Hablé con el camarero que se disculpó y dijo que hablaría con el chef.Bill pidió un sustituto de vino que resultó ser 8. 00 más caro que la elección original. Sin descuento en el bistec 67. 00 por 2 platos principales, un entrante y una botella de vino.Si continúan tratando a los clientes así, no durarán mucho más.

Our first visit to The Cock and Lion under new management, the food was superb and the drinks kept flowing. The new hosts Shaun and Neil were lovely and couldn't do enough for us. If you're in Marylebone give them a visit. Well worth it.

Had the most amazing lunch here. Fabulous location. The staff were nothing but attentive & super friendly. A great range of food options on the menu. Will definitely be back!

I was disgusted the way she spoke to one of her staff. Also overheard as she was abusing verbally some worker from the nearby hotel. I will never come back here and I will ask my colleagues and friends to stay away from this place

Trabajando en Londres a mitad de semana mientras Newcastle United estaba en la televisión. Encontré este lugar a través de grupos de Facebook como un lugar que muestra juegos de NUFC. Llegué alrededor de las 6. 30 pm y tenía el habitual "después del trabajo / turismo" en Londres, pero el personal fue excelente en el manejo de esto. Los pedidos de comida salen, las bebidas se sirven detrás de un pequeño bar. Buena gestión. No tenía comida pero ciertamente se veía bien. Bar tender recordó pedidos anteriores (siempre un toque agradable) y el servicio fue atento y agradable. . . . y Newcastle ganó! ¡Gran experiencia en general!

Fuimos a tomar algo por la tarde, casi no estaba ocupado, pero el personal del bar 2 detrás del bar estaba demasiado ocupado charlando, incluso cuando uno de ellos decidió servirme, ella todavía continuó su conversación con su colega. Really nice pub, staff very efficient and chatty. Excellent choice of real ales and Guinness was excellent. Well attended pub nice atmosphere - allowing conversation. Very nice TV’s with ICC cricket when we were there.

We were staying at the Marylebone Hotel close by. On the last day of our trip happened to come here. The place looked beautiful and the bartender was very welcoming and friendly to obvious tourists like us. He let me taste a couple of ales before I settled on one. The food we ordered was very tasty and the portions generous. Biggest regret I have is to not come here earlier since they had cricket WC live. Surely a nice place to watch a game with a beer in hand next time! Cheers!

While we all know that London pub prices are high this ones pricing is “different”! It's a small pub in an expensive street for sure; the draught ale is well-kept and not overpriced.However, if one only wants a small glass of wine the price is off the scale! The only Sauvignon Blanc available is from New Zealand and good it is too. However, a 125ml glass is £6.15!! So one asks for a small glass,because that's what one wants without consulting a price list and gets a shock. What is stranger still is that a 250ml glass, TWICE the amount is.... just £7.90!! So the careful social drinker is penalised! I daresay that many of those using the place regularly either don't care or are used to drinking large glasses. I have used it often over the years but have always drunk beer; now I'm not doing that I won't be crossing the threshold again until beer is required.Very sad really!

In the midst of several hours of sightseeing, we popped in here for lunch and a pint. The service was hideous and our food was terrible. I ordered the ham and cheese pannini and it came in a small hoagie roll with one piece of ham on it. No flavor, nothing. My husband ordered the spicy potatoe wedges with cheese (we were splittle the pannini) not spicy, and some potatoes were soggy. The service was poor and they seemed frosty to tourists. My vote, pass this one by and his another of the many pubs that aim to please.

Stumbled across this place by accident, but pleased we did. Good selection of drinks, and very friendly and helpful staff. Stylish tables did not detract from the olde worlde character of the place. Gents loo very small.

Went here for a quick drink before our BBC Radio Show nearby. Nice atmosphere and efficient service. There are a few tables and chairs outside, which was nice of a pleasant day. The food menu looked good, although we had just drinks on this occasion. The pub has a traditional feel and seems well maintained.

Otherwise average-looking pub which comes into its own when Newcastle United are playing. Food seems decent enough in the upstairs dining room. Standard beer selection.

Found this traditional pub around the corner of our hotell. Real pub-atmosphere and look. Restaurant upstairs. Wide pub-menu. Disappointing that the Sunday-roast was sold out at 2 pm. Fish and chips was an all right substitute. Good range of beers both on tap and bottle. Very slow food-serving tho. Fotball on TV-screens around the bar and restaurant.

Went there last night after work. The pub was really busy inside which was unusual as the weather was lovely. Me and my partner sat outside and had such a relaxing time, even though the traffic was on standstill, the pub has a good vibe. Big selection of drinks, staff very friendly and quick service.

Le restaurant où nous avions prévu d'aller manger étant exceptionnellement fermé ce jour-là, nous voilà en train de réfléchir à une solution de repli, à un coin de rue, devant la façade du "Cock & Lion". Finalement, un regard sur la carte et... nous décidons d'entrer. Ambiance pub, feutrée mais avec deux écrans qui diffusent les matches de foot à un certain niveau de volume (on n'y fait plus trop cas en mangeant). Nous commandons des fish and chips et autres plats divers, accompagnés d'une bonne "lager". Tout semble très frais et va s'avérer délicieux. L'accueil et le service ont été sympas et, en convertissant la note en euros, on se rend compte que le rapport qualité prix est très correct. Bref, un très bon moment.

Came across this pub by chance while looking for somewhere close to Oxford Street for a lunchtime drink. Pleased that the pub has an upstairs as the main bar was understandably busy. Good and attentive service in upstairs bar from friendly member of staff. Food was good (we had a platter to share) and arrived in a timely manner. We will definitely be back when next in the area.

I stopped in at The Cock and Lion between appointments I had in London. It was a quiet period, but gradually got busier as lunch period progressed. I was greeted by a member of staff, who was very friendly and ready to serve. She chatted while she got my drink and asked if I would like to look at the menu. On this occasion I declined as I was on a limited time scale, but I will be sure to return on my next visit to London. The food I did see come out looked fresh and nicely presented and the smelt delicious.

Having read earlier reviews, this place was on our list to visit during London Pub tour. Lunch service poor as staff watching football, food looked like it had been dumped out of a packet. Prices were good & lovely atmosphere.

Having visited many pubs, I must say that this pub is the nicest I have been to so far. Food is excellent, the tables are clean and not sticky.

If you need a quiet drink in a typical old London pub when you're shopping on Oxford Street, you need to go north or south to find interesting places. North, in Wigmore Street thee are a couple of pubs and this is the more comfortable , well kept beers, unfussy bench furniture and at the moment a hand painted window display that must have taken someone hours to do.

Gikk innom ved en tilfeldighet og oppdaget en liten og sjarmerende britisk pub på sitt beste. Fint utvalg i Ales fra en liten bardisk. Utvalget på menyen var ganske så bra og de er ikke en del av den "standardiserte" pub-maten kan det se ut til. Tommel opp!

A cozy bolthole only yards from the frenzy of Oxford Street.We were hungry and frazzled, everywhere we went there was so much noise, why do most places play such loud irritating music that I couldn't hear my Husband talk?Hungry and thirsty, we dismissed any idea of finding a quiet and relaxing place to enjoy a simple meal and decent drink - UNTIL! we chanced upon The Cock & Lion, 62 Wigmore Street.We had the best burgers and great service and we like the staff, the food and the atmosphere so much that we have already been back 3 times ,Thanks to Dean and Martha xx

I watched the FA Cup final here with friends and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Hence I returned this week for dinner. Delighted to have another delicious "homely" meal of nicely cooked chicken for starters and steak with boiled potatoes & butter. Good value too.

I quite like the place and been coming for the past ten years or so.Plenty of seating all down one side and great if there is a few of you on a session.Last time i was in was a friday night and it was rammed,so had to stand at the bar.Its handy if your looking to have a meal in st christophers place,but cant get served in the couple of very busy pubs in that area.Staff were ok just very busy processsing card payments for drinks which seems to be the norm now all over london.

This used to be my favourite pub in London without a doubt. Since the new Spanish manager has taken over, it's become an absolute joke. While at the bar, we heard the manager making jokes against and laughing at their own customers. Arrogant, aggressive, rude, can barely speak the language and can't recognise their own regulars.

If it's a nice traditional pub with good ales, atmosphere and friendly staff you're looking for, then can I suggest you cross the road and try the pub opposite. If however...you prefer your pub with rude staff, a manager who clearly didn't listen or understand the first basic rule in hospitality. That customer service and the customer experience, is key in repeat business and a successful pub, then do come here and waste your money.On the plus side, may I say the improvised comedy routine the staff performed, in response to a customer asking to speak to the manager, was truly outstanding; albeit slightly hammed up and over-acted, but entertaining all the same. Oh how we laughed, when the male barman or should I say henchman? Started to crack his knuckles in a menacing way to show he really meant business.

Last night I witnessed three of the aggressive obnoxious staff in this place round on and berate a customer for putting his bike too close to the door, he'd done nothing wrong but his bike was on the part of the pavement that one of the staff usually stands to have a cigarette. He right rightly refused to move it. Within a minute there was a male member of staff standing over him literally cracking his knuckles while the harridan manageress and another massive woman stood and abused him, all the while threatening to ring the police. It was appalling, just like the pub!

Leuke bar waar je rustig iets kunt drinken. Gezellig met kinderen (wij waren er met 2 gezinnen) maar ook leuk met vrienden. Lekker gegeten! Zeker een aanrader

If you want to have a drink and watch a sport with a couple of friends of just by yourself. This is a lovely place. They have two huge TV in the bar, its a little small but doesnt really matter. You could just have a drink and hang around with friends.. I liked the place!

The pub was full on a busy Saturday afternoon, only one chap getting served at the bar and it still took an age for the 2 barmaids to serve us. They were pleasant when serving us, the beer was ok, but not great, but it should have been for the price of it. Doubt I'll be back.

Order the beef pot pie....it's splendid. The lasagna was good as well. Lovely wait staff. We would go back.

Found this Traditional London Pub while staying up the street at the Radisson. Has a great selection on tap and the food has very good as well. A nice escape from the busy area of Oxford Street. The staff was very friendly. They serve my "Pride" which is my personal favourite London Beer.

Visit here quite regularly with friends for a beer and sometimes a meal. Can get busy, especially early evening. A good selection of real ales that are stored properly. Also a good selection of single malt whiskies. Food is very good, usually a fair selection of typical pub food and reasonable prices for central London. I have always food the food filling and wholesome rather than 'exciting'. Male toilets are small, but always clean and well stocked with the essentials. 2 large flat screen TVs high up, thankfully usually no sound, but sub titles showing.

Hassled by the staff for not buying a drink while we were waiting for our friends to join us. Also told that they pay £25k a year in TV licenses to show football, do we should buy drinks. Erm.

Warm welcome with comfortable interior. Excellent choice of ales including Landlord, Doombar, Tribute and Pride. Well kept and well poured by helpful bar staff. Food is OK grub reheated. Drink beer here in a warm environment.
