Lovely pub food is standard staff are lovely

Visited with a couple of friends and it was wonderful! The food was amazing and had very filling portions. The customers service was brilliant and was lovely to have a casual chat with. The food was very reasonably priced and we will definitely be visiting again ! Thank you Rachel for having us!

Tuesday night is quiz night. Last night was busy which created a good, friendly atmosphere. Jenny, the landlady makes it supported by friendly staff. The free buffet mid session was fresh, well presented and a great variety on offer. People should try it, I’m sure they wouldn’t be disappointed. Dog friendly too.

Dreadful. The landlady was nothing but rude and obnoxious, her partner was sniffing cocaine in the beer garden and then he attacked a random guy over nothing.

poor food when came out it looked unpresentable and looked rushed in my eyes and the price for the food it overpriced and had to wait a while for my food and the staff member on the bar kept giving me dirty eye contact

Great pub with great atmosphere and fab selection of food and drinks. Since it was taken over FIVE YEARS AGO the pub has thrived ever since. They do loads for the local community and it’s the heart of a great village. Love the karaoke nights especially!

Lovely lunch today. Great, friendly service. Loved the salt & chilli chips especially. Plenty of choice and good quality and good value. Will definitely return.

Midweek family meal out .... we booked a table rather than just turning up as we weren't sure how busy they would be ... We ordered our drinks at the bar and then we were shown to our seats . The room was nice and relaxing and just us in. It was our first time here so we were not sure what to expect .... Seven people in our party.... X 2 Steak & Ale Pie ( one with chips one with mash ) x1 Fish n chips x1 Bacon cheeseburger and x2 Mexican burgers ( one without the brioche bun ) Sadly one of our party wasn't feeling too well but did order something after our had arrive Cheesy chips and Garlic bread . All the food arrived in a timely manner. It was piping hot and well presented . Our waitress ( sadly I didn't get her name ) was polite , friendly and helpful . My only criticism was ( I was the Mexican burger without the brioche bun ) some people are not fond of Burgers on Brioche maybe it would be nice to have an alternative , also I didn't have any Burger sauce on my plate where as the others did . The food didn't cost a fortune and was well worth what we paid for it . On the whole a very nice experience , it was relaxing and no one was hurrying us along , just how it should be .. Looking forward to eating here again in the future

An unusual pub built on to the face of the hill Spread out over multiple levels with outdoor seating areas at the top, middle and bottom of the hill... Large free carpark at the top. Jenny was the perfect host and very popular worth the locals, the pub is bright and welcoming and very clean throughout... A real credit to her and her staff. A beautiful and unique venue, well worth a visit. Inside feels very cosy

Go there few times but not dining. Landlady is very friendly. Karaoke night is a plus as fun and great atmosphere. Will definitely go again.

Could be better….let’s start with the good bits. Onion bhaji great! Chicken Tikka Massala good. Tandoori Mixed Grill NOT good, chicken was reheated on the grill and tough as old boots! For £18.95 (tandoori mixed grill) I did expect a piece of lamb. Liked the place overall (pub atmosphere good ) and staff were nice albeit a little inattentive. Was promised a free drink after complaining, this was received but then added to the bill. Was told Head Chef was absent so maybe a one off. We want to support local but on this occasion I was underwhelmed. Would recommend curry’s but stay away from the Mixed Grill.

FANTASTIC!!!!! As far as pub food goes this is top tier. The chicken strips were packed with flavour and come with gravy which me and my son agreed is better than KFC. The cheeseburger was delicious, the bun was lovely, meat cooked perfectly. Seems to be a hidden gem but not sure why. With food like this it should be packed out.

Situated in the beautiful and quiet little village of Oughtibridge. Great food and a warm friendly atmosphere. Large beer garden ard outside seating all around the pub. One to visit if you can

Stayed 2 nights. Nice place ....only grumble was is there is a drop down blind across a window...where the bath is...which acts as one side of shower curtain. Just a bit odd.

We saw the Sunday lunches being brought out one lunch time and thought yes we must try one sometime. We visited one Sunday and ordered one beef dinner and one pork, it was nice that you had a choice of a smaller potion as I hate to leave half of it especially after paying for it so I ordered the small portion and just managed to clear the plate. The Yorkshire puddings were delicious and so were the roast potatoes, a lovely traditional Sunday lunch..

My first time in very impressed

Went for food after a funeral service. The food was lovely, a different array of nibbles, not just sandwiches. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, very friendly and they helped each other a nice staff team. I would call again if I was in the area.

Have visited three times now, each and every time has been great, all three visits have been on a weekday afternoon. Two of the three visits I was pretty much the only in, the other visit there seemed to be a wake there but my food still came out quickly and I was looked after well. Staff are friendly and polite. Food is amazing, it is proper pub food, not microwaved and sat under a heat lamp like at a certain pub chain. This pub is part of a chain (Mighty Local) but you can barely tell at all. Location is fantastic too, I'd fully recommend a nice walk in the surrounding area before (earn a meal!) or after (burn a meal!) visiting. 5/5 faultless place and I will continue to come here without doubt!

we visited cock in for the first time and she loved it , after 2-3 drinks at the bar then a bite to eat she definitely wants to taste more of that lovely home cooked cock inn food.

The Inn offers a range of tasty meals. I sat at a table in the garden area. There are parasols at each table, which was useful because the sun was bright.

Got 3 childs meals large I may add over £20 2 hunters chicken with salad and a burger we got a third of a chicken breast each 12 chips and a handful of peas no salad the burger meal was just about unacceptable went away hungry and disappointed I know things are tight at the moment but dear god this tight!avoid!

My school friends and I came to The Cock for dinner and some drinks, we were staying in an air bnb up the road for a get together. There was a good selection of food, including options for vegetarians/ vegans, the food was tasty and there are lots of drinks on offer. We were pleasantly surprised that there was karaoke and music played from 8pm (we later found out they do this alternative Fridays & Saturdays), we were the first to get up and sing and were welcomed openly by the locals, and spent the evening dancing and singing. It was such a fantastic atmosphere we all had so much fun and have talked about our evening every day since. The bar staff and owner were really friendly and we were even offered a lift home as the taxi didn’t send a big enough car, which was a lovely gesture. We’d love to come back and relive the party and can highly recommend!

Visited the cock for a Monday meal ,l had the brisket burger and my friend the lasagne. Can honestly say it was the best pub food we had eaten in years. Beautifully cooked presented and served. A couple of farmers blonde topped off the visit. 12 out of 10

Nice place, well run and organised

Went for Sunday dinner 6 of us looking forward too it but so disappointed when we got it. Got wrong meals fetched to us meat was tough and fatty and when we told him wrong meals were fetched twice he seemed funny with us when he should have had words with them that took order. All of us said wouldn't go again and wouldn't recommend it at all

Freshly cooked food, piping hot. Made a change for it to be hot, most places the food is lukewarm by the time it gets to the table! This was definitely a pleasant surprise.

Love this pub and the ambience. Not visited for a while. Used to be a regular visitor for the fabulous burgers. Eaten here today 1st time since the refurb and how bitterly disappointing it was. The portion sizes are minimal. The coffee was cold. I came out starving and disappointed. The pub itself is lovely and the staff are friendly and welcoming..the previous menu and quality of food was fantastic..such a pity things have to change and not for the better.

We Came for food, there was 4 of us. The food was lovely apart from you had to wait at least 40 minutes for the mains to come out. The nachos were stale and not enough cheese on them. After telling them they said we could have a pudding and they’d knock the nachos off receipt. We then had to wait for 2 puddings and 2 coffees. Lovely food overall but to say we were only the ones in we had to wait 25 minutes for the puddings to come out.

Always been a good pub, recently done up and feels very upmarket.

First time I've been in this lunch time after fishing nearby. Not easy to find as it's on a one way system but well worth the effort. Nice layout with seperate areas for food and drink which is nice. Good selection of draft ales and other drinks. Friendly service and car park as well.
