Very disappointing Afternoon Tea, stale bread for sandwiches which must of been made hours before we arrived, inedible sausage rolls which were very cold (straight from the fridge). I did complain and we were given replacement sandwiches - lettuce and very fatty gammon ham. Not worth the £40 paid so would definitely not recommend.

visited this fine establishment today and was not disappointed in the slightest, amazing food, lovely shop, it was spectacular. The only one thing that i have had to complain about would be that this young lady was staring at me the entire time i was doing my shopping. This made me feel very uncomfortable due to she was giving me funny looks at the same time. Other than that what a lovely place.

Planned a breakfast stopover heading west at this farm shop come cafe/diner. We booked ahead, booking an outdoor table for our party + dog. When we arrived the place was buzzing, and the outdoor area was split with one half under a large canvas awning. The booked table (bench) was in this covered area, which was noisy due to the acoustics. I wanted the food to be great having specially booked, but it was lacking... the menu looked good and offered GF options, but it basically took too long (we were warned), but it was TOO long -> food when it arrived was dry and lukewarm warm at best. Coffee was... well I wouldn't order again, and the Adult Chocolate Milkshake was powdery (?!). All in all a disappointment, even though the staff were fine, and so overall it rates only the 3 stars given. Maybe it’s just too busy to offer hot food to all their customers. Nice loos, and the Farm shop was interesting. Cafe not so much

I took my friend for afternoon tea to celebrate a special birthday at Cobbs in Englefield. I have previously had an unsatisfactory experience at Cobbs in Hungerford and had hoped this would be a great improvement. Unfortunately, I was disappointed when a sausage roll and quiche albeit looked good came straight from the fridge and was not warmed up. The sandwiches were resembling toast as they were during out. I was also turned down for a cold drink as this would be extra, however at Hungerford this is acceptable and in the price. How can both sites be inconsistent? Sadly the whole experience was below par compared to previous occasions and although the staff were doing their best to be efficient in a busy period I am extremely reluctant to return to Cobbs again.

Loved the farm shop more than the restaurant but very expensive!. Had lunch and quiche was average. Toasties and drinks were nice. Would visit again when quieter to try some cake but too expensive to visit often. Staff are friendly and helpful. Need somewhere for the toddlers to play.

We stopped here after a long drive and thought the food and service provided was great! It’s a shame dogs can’t come inside, but other than that no criticisms.

Favourite place to shop for quality meat. A proper butchers where you can take advice and help. Cheese counter stocks a wide range of cheeses, and staff are friendly.

Very friendly, excellent coffee (& sticky buns) and exceptionally convenient to the superb farm shop next door.

Chocolate & raspberry cake was lush very light & not too sweet. Followed by cappuccino which was very warm unlike other coffee places I’ve been to. Great vibes So five stars I will be back again soon.

Today I visited Cobbs Farm shop, the item I wished to purchase, I could not find. Fortunately on the shop floor, a young lady member was available for help. Absolute incredible response, with help above and beyond expectations. Happy friendly staff, who made me very welcome indeed. What a rarity in this day and age. You now have a customer for life. Due to your most courteous and helpful service. Well done . A truly most happy customer. Thank you so much.

Lots of stars for their cafe but they are primarily a farm shop, pretty average quality ( kind of Sainsbury’s) and very high prices… I don’t mind paying more but not for this quality. PS: Hard working, professional and friendly guys working in the butcher department

I visited Cobbs in Englefield for lunch with a friend - he's a regular but this was my first visit. The restaurant area is large, bright and airy and the food excellent. You would expect a farm shop restaurant to have high quality produce and at Cobbs you won't be disappointed. I chose Ham, Eggs and Chips - simple but really tasty. Really fresh eggs with lovely golden yolks and excellent ham all partnered with nice chips with a real crunch to them. All washed down with a bottle of Ramsbury Farmers Best beer. I'm looking forward to my next visit. I'm told the menu changes seasonally which is great. Although I didn't try on this occasion, I'm sure all the ingredients can be found for sale in the shop.

When to cobbs today got some items along with a lardy cake the cake was so dry I think they forgot to put the fruit in as well won't be going back here again

The cafe is really lovely, had a great lunch. The farm shop has a good range of products.

Lots of delicious items are available here including two cocks brewery beers. The counter is always well stocked and the freezer section has a range of high quality meats. The prices are above the super market average but are very reasonable for the quality of product provided.

Fabulous shop and lovely restaurant with friendly and efficient staff.

This is a little gem hidden away. Great selection in the farm shop after which you can sit inside or outside the coffee shop and be served by their friendly staff.

Love it here sausage rolls are the best

It's a nice shop with a good variety of "farm" shop items but the mark up on some things is high. Butchers is good.

I paid a ridiculous amount for sausages in a bap and they didn't even butter the bap!

Went for Breakfast today and wasn’t disappointed with the quality, very nice, the thimble of beans and the fact we had to remind them it is served with mushrooms which we received after the food arrived being the only negative with the food. We where there as they opened so got seated quite quickly and served, the seats by the entrance do get the breeze whenever the door to the patio is opened so it did get a bit fresh at times, also the crumbs on the floor and table at the start of todays service would indicate that it hadn’t been cleaned from the day before or given a wipe over at best. A very popular venue and mostly for good reasons but I do think they have rested on their laurels a bit.

We had not booked but treated very well and a table was found service and food was great.Will go again.

Then the meat counter Stocked with local fresh products at fairly good pricing All in all, a great place.

I love the farm shop. The cafe left a lot to be desired on our last visit though. The food selection was rather limite. They couldn't do gluten free chips that day (fryer contamination) which was a shame for my daughter who has Coeliac Disease. Service was very good, but unfortunately our food took 45 minutes.to arrive. (Kitchen error? Not sure). They have these wonderful big windows which look out on to a courtyard as well, but when the sun is low in winter, all it serves to do is make half the guests sit shielding their eyes. A blind would help this. The food was.... OK. Which is a shame considering its part of a farm shop. It really could be something great, but sadly it was not up to par the day we visited.

Beautifully stocked grocers with top end produce. It felt a bit too expensive though.

Be warned, dont go here. Too much choice of amazing meats and cheeses. Samples to try and too friendly. I brought a great selection of cheeses including some great local ones. I am now worried my family will never be happy with supermarket basics. Brilliant shop (I'm sorry to say)

We had a lovely meal out, (the roast). We said for the mixed meat one extra slice of each would have been good, but very tasty and service was great.

I went for a festive afternoon tea at Cobbs with my friend today and it was lovely. There were two types of sandwiches, a tasty rocket salad, a slice of quiche, a sausage roll (vegetarian version for me), fruit scone with clotted cream and jam, three cakes and a mince pie. Neither of us could eat it all and we were given boxes to take the rest home. I definitely recommend it.

Good choice of food. Expensive but I guess that's the norm for the this sort of area.

Really like visiting cobbs , fantastic butcher section lovely coffee shop ,every thing for that special weekend or evening meal you will find at cobbs, duck eggs very good, will keep visiting.

Amazing range of products to buy here. Their cider I lush along with their baked good.

Checked website before leaving home could see no mention of when they stopped serving breakfast. Being a Sunday they only opened at 10am so guessed I would be okay, arrived no front of house staff waited around a bit to be told it's 11.31 sorry you can only have cakes, I appreciate a cut off but 1 minute when I had waited longer than that to sit, disappointing to be honest left and went else where.

I like it as good food, more expensive than a supermarket but that is the difference. Good options. 1 till broke down so quite a queue. Will become a regular.

Never knew this place existed. Sadly too far from home to use regularly, however if in future I was nearby I'd divert to buy some veg.

Eggs Benedict on bubble and squeak - game changer! 😋 Staff friendly and helpful. Dog ice-cream very well received by our two dogs.

We used to come here quite a lot, but after a few mediocre experiences and now a very underwhelming one, we decided not to come back. We waited almost an hour for our lunch (a sandwich! - not a three course meal), while the place was not busy. The focaccia had hardly any feta cheese and was burnt black. Staff has been quite rude to us in the past. It’s a shame, because it could be a nice café for a simple lunch with its location, but we will have to give it a pass in the future. There are other options in the area with better food, nicer staff and a more appealing (and cheaper!) menu.

We enjoyed a Sunday roast and delicious dessert here. Outdoor seating was comfortable with our dog, thanks to a protective cover and heater. The friendly staff added to our lovely weekend experience.

The food here is delicious and fresh and the Chai latte in the cafe is the best I have ever had! Lots of produce and meat to purchase also in the shop!

Lovely farm shop with lots of things to tempting you to buy. The homemade coleslaw was delicious.

Tuesday morning coffee stop, a table for 6 was readily available, table service was very quick , would recommend.

Excellent restaurant with great menu

Visited this shop as our local Cobbs has temporarily closed. The butchers counter didn't look as fresh as Manydown but meat was all good.

We love eating at Cobbs Englefield because you can always guarantee the high quality of the food as well as the care and friendliness of the staff, whether you just want coffee or a meal. Today the restaurant was full, and the wait for food was a little long, but the lovely food, the relaxed atmosphere and lovely staff made it all worthwhile.

Good farm shop but awful cafe. Bland menu and the service is extremely slow.

Nice full English breakfast with black pudding and a decent English mustard. Staff were very helpful and polite.

Great farm shop stocked by local butchers, local people and the local farm. Has everything from raw meat & veg - packaged treats and cupboard goods.

Clean, great menu, helpful staff. My 1st visit, but hope to return again, soon.

Love this place very good staff, food is great

We purchased 4 cooked breakfasts at Cobbs and we were really looking forward to enjoying freshly cooked hot food. However the experience was let down by the seating location we were given. We were sat directly opposite the doors leading to the outside seating area which were continuously being opened and shut by both visitors and staff. As a consequence we were being constantly fanned by the outside air which had an instant cooling effect on our breakfast. So much so that before we were even half way through eating it the breakfast was only luke warm!! They were nowhere as enjoyable as they should have been!! (Considering this was in June, I imagine it would be much worse during other months.) I must stress that the staff were all lovely, and the food was of an excellent quality. It was just the fact that it got so cold so quickly that this visit to Cobbs was a disappointment to us 😞

I have a love:hate relationship with this place. I love everything about it and hate that I spend so much money. Every time!!! Great cafe, amazing fresh food counters and a pretty decent wine section. Worth a trip / detour

I attended with five others for lunch the staff were friendly the food was mediocre. Fish over cooked. I don’t mind paying a good price for the food however a friend asked for another teabag as the first pot of tea was weak for a large pot. On paying the bill £127 for 6 I noticed a charge of .40p for the extra tea bag! Come on COBBS get it together! If you want returning custom. Make sure the food and common sense matches the delightful staff.
