Headed here with the family for a mother's day lunch. Everyone loved it - great menu and all the meals came with unique presentation. Staff are really friendly and prices very reasonable too. A great wee hidden gem that we 100% recommend and plan on visiting again

I found this place because of the Trip Advisor reviews. The lady serving was exceptionally lovely. The food was very generous and was tasty. Serving dishes were unique. A delicious find, we were certainly be returning and spreading the word.

Just back from here. A few of the family have been raving about this place so I thought I’d join them. And oh my Lord it’s fantastic. Great welcome, amazing service and omg the food was delicious and so well priced. The hummus to start is probably the best I’ve tasted. I had the Cajun chicken burger which fresh, hot and plentiful. We all had different meals but all plates were completely empty. I can’t wait to go back x

Can not be faulted. Varied and very tasty menu at a reasonable price. Wanted to order all of the starters cause looked so good but had some restraint and we just went for the Prawns and Cheese Fritters. Had the burgers and it was generous portions. Service was great. I dropped a fork and the waitress heard from the kitchen with a set of replacement cutlery already in hand. Didn’t even need to ask. 10/10.

Please note the poor review is solely for the one dish and for the nice staff. The vegetable tagine was very poor. It tasted like a salty sugary Chinese takeaway and no spiciness that you should get from a Moroccan tagine. Oh and when I see a dog eating off a table it’s not what I would expect from a food serving establishment. Just a one off visit im afraid. You were however very polite and courteous. Thanks for that.

Food is always fantastic. I have tried a few things on menu and have a "new favourite " every time 😋 hosts are the nicest couple. Friendly and would highly recommend this excellent eaterie Thanks Alix and Sean

Why do they not sell lights lunches and salads as lots of people do not want to chips or dressed chicken

Lovely meal but be sure to book as they only do a set number of covers per night. It was very busy and we did have to wait for our food but it was definitely worth it.

Excellent lunch will return. beautifully cooked and presented. Interior is more cafe than restaurant and not too large. Weather permitting they have outside tables. Great value for money and lovely staff. Parked on street outside.

This place is a hidden gem, highly recommend it, service was excellent no rush whatsoever, will certainly be back. I had the potted smoked mackerel, the boss had crispy Halloumi. For our mains it was steak pie which was so succulent & Thai green curry mussels 🤤 🤤

Can honestly say this was the best pub meal we have had for a long time for our group of 7. All those that had the haddock all agreed it was the best they have had (tried most fish offerings in Dundee area). Excellent presentation and large good value portions. The staff were brilliant with their outstanding service and attentiveness, and very kind in looking after my father on his birthday…looking forward to our next trip.

We were staying in Tayport for a few nights and on first night went and had a drink and to book a table for food for the next night. Bar staff were so friendly and locals were very welcoming. We arrived for our meal, with our dog and was warmly welcomed. The food was amazing, we had the 3 starters and side each and all of the food was great. We then had a sticky toffee pudding to share mmmmmm. Alex the waitress (her and her husband run the restaurant) was brilliant and made sure we were well looked after. It was under £14 for a bottle of Merlot as well (wine was really nice). We ended up back the next night for pudding and we are already planning on returning to Tayport with our daughters to have a meal again. I was amazed at all the other meals that were being served and wanted them all. Thanks again to all staff for making our weekend so good.

Discovered here today for lunch and boy was I happy we did! The food was 10/10 l, lovely presentation, everything was so tasty! I had Mac and cheese my partner had some starters and it was all so good. Friendly staff make a great experience, and even better, they are dog friendly! We will definitely be back!

after seeing some pics of food on social media i knew this was a must try….so the wife and i decided to go….. so after 1 hour 40 odd mins and 80 odd miles later…(we came from glasgow just to eat here)… and it did not disappoint it was amazing…nice clean excellent service no rush…the starter mix box is a must try we had bbq goujons ,tempura prawns,smoked cheese fritters and chips with curry sauce…all excellent…for mains we had the chilli nacho burger (honestly one of the thickest burgers i have seen)…. wife had the mac n cheese it was soooo cheesy both meals served with chips and salad…will defo be back…when our server asked us our plans for later we said heading back to glasgow and that we only came up to try there food she was amazed…but defo worth the trip

It would be easy to drive past this pub as it looks like "just a local" but don't!There is a nice outdoor area for the sunny Scottish days - the staff are lovely, but the food is fantastic. The presentation is a bit quirky, but it's great quality, very tasty and good value. They take Covid safety seriously and we felt very safe.We will definitely return - thank you!

Just visited after a walk at Tentsmuir Forest, with the kids and dog. Food was amazing - definitely of the quality served in top restaurants for a fraction of the price. Locals and staff super friendly. It’s not often that I write a review but felt this was definitely worth one!

Went for lunch today and we will definitely be back. Steak pie was out of this world and very quirky! Option to have 3 starters and 1 side on a platter for £14 and is so worth it! Both good price! Lovely pub and the staff were so nice!

We had an absolutely superb lunch, delicious and beautifully presented all at an extremely reasonable price, staff were extremely friendly, frankly one of the best plates of food I’ve eaten in a very long time 11/10.

3 starters and a side... Stoke of genius. With so many mouthwatering choices on the menu it was too hard to decide until we saw pick n mix selection on the starters menu. Absolutely fantastic food. In fact so much so we had to come back to try the remaining starters.. Can't wait to try the mains as they all look amazing

Fabulous food, great menu, always beautifully presented. Great staff too. We ordered a mixed platter and the beef and black pudding stovies both of which were epic. We shared a pudding which was Biscoff cheesecake with ice cream and cream - delicious

This was our first time visiting the restaurant. It was really nice and lots off choice. Food all home made and fresh... it was beautiful the presentation was lovely. We only had a starter and a main we had no room for desert we will definitely be back. Keep up the good workSusan and Kevin.

It’s often the case that places are talked up so much that when you go there it’s a disappointment. This certainly wasn’t the case here. Heard great reports about the food and it exceeded those expectations. The three starters option gives you enough food to choke a horse and there’s lots of variation too. The chilli burger was delicious. The service was top notch and the bill surprisingly low given the amount of food and drink we put away. Took us too long to try this place but will def be back soon. Loved it.

Had tea with my hubby here. I had chicken goujons as a starter n he had deep fried mussels with aioli. Very very tasty. We both had fish n chips to follow which was very fresh n tasty fish! Service was good. This is a wee gem of a place n prices were very reasonable!

Visited Cobbies twice on our recent break and thoroughly enjoyed it both times.The food is excellent and the staff were brilliant. Food is fantastic with some quirky little touches.Will definitely be back when we visit Tayport again.

What a place, dog friendly our little spaniel got a big fresh bowl of water along with some lovely doggy treats.As for our meal wow we had Cajun chicken burger & the sticky sweet chilli chicken, both were fantastic, fresh, tasty and well worth the reasonable price they charge!Thanks Cobbies Inn !

Lovely little pub by the harbour. Food is great and staff were very friendly. We stopped off whilst on a camping trip and were even given some extra salt/pepper and condiments to take with us. Highly recommended!

Atmosphere was relaxing,service was top notch and the chef (Shaun) came out to explain to me that the steak pie was served in a glass with the pastry on top, not for pretentious purposes, but because it keeps the steak warmer fo longer (which it did) The staff honestly cant do enough for you, including the Cobbies bar staff which the restaurant is attached to.Couldn't recommend this place highly enough!And so pleased we can visit again x

What a find! We stopped here in Tayside to enjoy a walk at the harbour and a friendly local took our photo and then recommended the Kitch Inn at Cobbies just round the corner for lunch. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were really friendly and service was excellent. Do not pass by without popping in here!

Visited yesterday, first day of Covid restrictions being lifted and it was a great experience. Excellent service, lovely food and dog friendly - perfect. Sat in the beer garden and it was a very nice. Highly recommended

Came here as a group to celebrate a friend’s 30th birthday and it was fantastic. Every member of our party thought the food was incredible and beautifully presented-hats off to the chef who I know is basically on his own in the kitchen preparing all the food himself. Despite his flying solo, the service was still very efficient and our server was lovely and chatty. I also felt our meal was extremely reasonably priced. I have been raving about Cobbies ever since and will 100% be back!

Having read rave reviews about this place on trip advisor we had high hopes, entering through the pub we thought, “have we got the wrong place” a largely male, middle aged, all day drinking crowd populated the bar ( it was a week day) however spotting a modern looking glass door we entered a light bright cafe style room, buzzing with chatter and satisfied customers, leading onto a decked outside area with picnic tables. As I learned later Alex was front of house and Sean the chef, they managed to serve and cook for a room full of people with relative ease, and apparently no other staff! The menu was extensive and in the end we both had three courses, plus a couple of beers each all for just over £40! We also had our puppy with us and they are super dog friendly, we had calamari which was very tender and coated in a salt and pepper seasoning, and garlic prawns with Chinese style stir fried veg, the sauce was superb, followed by the chilli nacho burger and a starter portion of home made tortilla strips, beef chilli, sour cream salsa and refried beans followed by cheesecake of the day and a lemon curd meringue roulade with a lemon sauce and ice cream, presentation was very Gastropub, Alex was super friendly and spoilt our pup rotten, food was excellent, can’t wait to return and eat our way through the menu!

On a recommendation we travelled just under an hour to get to the restaurant and it was MORE than worth the journey. It's a relaxing setting with really excellent food and friendly service. It's nice to see a restaurant adding little twists to traditional dishes at good prices. We will be back!

Gave this place a try en-route to Dundee. Great bar with a great barman who knows how to be a great host. Decent 'craic' with him and the locals at the bar.The food is excellent. Bistro style / gastro pub. A great menu all at a great price. So much so that you don't mind leaving a decent tip!The couple than run the restaurant are brilliant, very friendly and attentive. Some really nice touches on the table which gives the place their personal touch. Many thanks for a lovely lunch. Recommend that you give this place a try. We will be back!

Excellent food which is so reasonable, fantastic service with a lovely atmosphere. We have never been disappointed and always make Kitch Inn our first choice as menu is so varied to suit all.Looking forward to our next visit and luck to have such a great place near by.

Hadn’t been for a while, booked a week in advance as you have to do.

Tucked away in wee corner near the harbour at Tayport, this hidden gem is well worth a visit. The menu is creative, delicious and very, very reasonably priced. The restaurant is behind the tiny pub and only has capacity for maybe 25 people at at time. I would advise booking in advance. In the summer there is a nice looking outdoor beer garden area but I haven't eaten there as I haven't been on a nice enough day. I highly recommend this place especially if you are looking for a nice treat on a tight budget. Oh, and there are loads of toys and games for the kids to play with when they get bored of all the grown up conversation!

Found Cobbies Inn whilst googling routes to Tayport for a brief visit. Clicked on it and saw a fantastic looking menu so the Wife and I decided to drop in for a spot of lunch.

Well I have been lucky enough to live close by for over 3 years and frequent regularly but today was sublime!! New menu, refurbished and literally excellent in every way. The new menu is adventurous, tasty and I have booked to go back tomorrow!! Service is fantastic!! Cannot recommend highly enough

Arriving in Tayport we didn't expect very much from Connie's Kitch-inn but we were more than pleasantly surprised. The food is excellent - worthy of a Michelin star! And the service by friendly but unobtrusive staff is also top quality. And it is unbelievably good value for money. Deserving of the highest praise.

When visiting family, it was suggested that we have lunch at Kitch Inn and I was surprised to learn that this total gem of a restaurant has been here for 5 years!

From the outside, it looks like an average local pub. Once inside, the bar is thriving with locals and the atmosphere is great. Through to the Kitch-inn and the warmest of welcomes from both Alex and the chef. Great menu, fun games on table to amuse before eating and then perfect service and really tasty, well presented food at incredibly reasonable prices. A great end to a fab day of golf at Scotscraig and a warm-up for the Solheim Cup and cheering on Team Europe.

My wife and I ate here tonight. We booked over the phone and our table was reserved with our name on a Scrabble letter board. A nice novelty touch. I had whitebait to start and my wife had olives: both very nice. For mains my wife’s fishcake looked and tasted brilliant and my gammon steak was the biggest yet tastiest I have ever experienced. Our waitress was busy yet always found time to chat. She made us feel very welcome and overall our visit was a very pleasant experience. Highly recommended.

We found KitchInn at Cobbies Bar while driving home (South) from Dundee and checking Trip Adviser to see recommendations en route. We were not disappointed and had a lovely meal. It does essentially have a 'bar' feel about it, but that is not to its detriment, the food is easily above regular 'bar' standard. We have two collies who were made very welcome (water and dog biscuit type of welcome - just their thing!) and as it was a sunny early evening we chose to sit outside in the enclosed beer garden, but we were told we could have sat inside with the dogs if we wanted, which was nice.

Just been in for family meal - great service, great food, brilliant choice for vegetarians, 11 year old daughter loved the food too. One of the best meals we've had in a long time. Will definitely be back next time we're in the area.

My wife and myself had happy memories of Tayport when last touring Scotland in our motor home and included it in our 74 day tour this year. We recalled eating here on the first evening and lunching the next day in the Bell. Mid afternoon yesterday, we called in to see the menu and book a table, only to be told by a juvenile girl behind the bar

Visited Cobbies whilst staying in Tayport on holiday. What a brilliant place to come! The food was superb, the team there brilliant.

We visited Cobbies on two occasions, first with friends in the bar area and then returned to the restaurant the following day , food was lovely. Fresh scampi was a good portion and quirky presentation! Steak pie is definitely quirky! The langoustines are more like king prawn but still nice! Didn’t manage dessert

On entering the establishment you think have I walked in the right place!? It's a small bar room and doesn't look as though there is anywhere else to move too.

The food is really lovely and way higher standard than pub grub. This is food that any high class restaurant would be proud to serve up and aspire to. The prices are very reasonable and portions generous. If I could make two tiny suggestions it would be to get some cushions or more comfortable seats and an automatic closer for the door that leads out to your beer garden so that the guests inside are not left freezing every time someone forgets to shut the door. Serving staff were very pleasant and helpful and we will be recommending your restaurant to all our friends when they visit the area.

Yet another amazing meal at Cobbies, honestly cant recommend it enough, prawn and salmon roulade and Calamari to start both amazing, the main courses were exceptional, lamb was beautiful and the clams and mussels in a leek sauce simply stunning, I urge you to pay a visit, you will be made vey welcome by Alix and Sean xx

every time i come to kitch inn you place is superbly set out and the old fashond table condements and food is first class and service is mint defo recommond this pub for anybody looking for some good pub grub

Searched for somewhere to go for lunch on Trip adviser and found this. The food and service were first class.

I cannot say anything that the other reviewers have not already said. Fantastic food (with a twist,) superb service and all it's own little quirks. The thing that makes it stands out for me is there is no kids menu and this is a good thing. No hot dogs pr pizza here, the kids can pick anything off the main menu which is truly fabulous.

We love coming over to Cobbies, Sean's food is excellent, the menu is always fantastically varied and the service from Sean and Alex is outstanding. Always worth a call ahead, especially at weekends, but really can't reccomend the Kitch Inn enough.

We have just had a lovely meal at Kitch-Inn. We ordered the steak pie and full rack of ribs. The steak pie was quirky as it came served in a mason jar. However it was the tastiest meat that just melted in your mouth and the pastry was light and fluffy, served with veg and choice of potato. The ribs were sticky and very tasty, came with homemade coleslaw, corn on the cob, chips and a small side salad. Very good presentation of the food and it was delicious. The staff are very friendly and attentive too. They fit us in last minute, so I would recommend you book as it does get very busy. I would not hesitate to recommend Kitchen-Inn to friends or family looking for a good meal at reasonable prices, with great service.

Going through a proper pub front of house into a zany dining area - they haven't named it "Kitch-Inn" for nothing - you get a warm friendly welcome. You then get much better than average food at cracking prices. If there is a niche between pub grub and too serious gastropub, then this is it. The fish dishes were especially good, and so rich. My wife loved that each table had their own idiosyncratic condiment sets. Going back soon with the family.

Lovely meal here for our 41st wedding anniversary! Really impressed by the beautifully cooked,delicious lamb steak and tasty veg accompaniment.My husband had the gammon steak which was amazing and huge! The sticky toffee pudding dessert was as light as a feather ...absolutely fab! Delightful service too.. so friendly. Most definitely will be going back and taking friends ! Well done guys...

Staying locally to celebrate my husbands birthday can booked Cobbies based on trip advisor recommendation and for its wide and varied vegetarian options . Food was excellent and everything cooked fresh. Staff were attentive and very welcoming . A hidden gem .
