Coaltown Roastery Espresso Bar in Carmarthenshire

Ok venue, funny for Ammanford. My latte was cold, my parters was ok. was ok. But the cakes were dried. Basically nothing special.

We will start by saying how awesome Amelia is. We came to this one specifically. There is a store nearer to us but doesn't have the Roastery attached to it so wanted to see the entire thing and as it was my brother in laws birthday this week - we travelled the extra distance. Glad we did! Coffee was lovely - people saying that it’s overpriced, I don’t think so. It’s comparable to Costa / Starbucks etc but tastes considerably better (imo) Added extra to our visit. Whilst looking around at the items they offer, Amelia stated that she could show us around if we had time (best of all - for free!) - it was quite evident from the tour that Amelia doesn’t just work there. She is very passionate about what she does and that and her natural warmth show through. She is incredibly knowledgeable about everything coffee related and answered all questions that we had for her. Even taking the time to show how they expertly craft their coffee - latte art included. I don’t think we will bother with the store that is nearer to us in the future and we will just pop back to this one.

called in for take away coffees. Where as the coffee was nice and rich, found the size of the cups to be VERY SMALL and so of poor value for the money. Appreciate cost of living pressures but feel these prices are too much and won't be going back

I was treated to a cup of tea and cake by a colleague here. Great treet. I'm not a coffee person, therefore can't comment fully on what this place offer. A decent cup of tea however and a fantastic Passion Fruit Drizzle Cake. Great place to meet friends. Except for cake, they don't offer any other food here. I usually hate Coffee Shops run by massive companies, however it's nice to see a company from Ammanford doing so well.

We were overjoyed to find this place! Not only is this place incredibly cool with its monotone decor (think Crittal, vintage tan leather and metal chairs, shiny chrome coffee brew heads and steamers) the staff are also lovely and the coffee… is delicious. The smell of the roast greets you as you walk in through the door. My eyes were immediately drawn the selection of cakes and there they were…not one but two vegan cake options! Our choice was between the cherry, marzipan cake with sprinkles of pistachio and a chocolate cake with a ganache topping. We both had oat flat whites and the cherry marzipan cake. Will be returning? Absolutely! Our son (13) will love this place too with its selection of organic “pop” - Karma Cola and such like. Thanks to the people behind Coaltown! Firstly - gorgeous venue. Coffee was amazing and it was a nice place to have long overdue catch up with friends. However I’ve given it two stars based this major point - It is not inclusive. They only serve Coffee and Cake. They are predominantly a Coffee Roaster. So you’ll find plenty of Different milk options, except Soya, and cake that’s suitable for Vegans/ Vegetarians. But NO gluten free option. Not even 1. One stated, low gluten, but that’s no good if your a Celiac. It’s 2022 to exclude a section of the public because they have a disease, is just not a good business model. But is fine if your lactose intolerant/Allergic to milk or Vegan/Vegetarian. Seems unfair hence to the two stars.

After a long journey and looking forward to having breakfast with a lovely cup of coffee, we arrived to be told that they were not serving food due to covid restrictions. Also the coffee was served in paper cups , no Soya milk or sweetners were available. The website didn't state that they were not serving food . Disappointing all round

Ok, firstly the coffee was great had the winter roast flat white, also the carrot cake was tasty, but the whole experience was let down due to the fact that there was no plain Soya milk for my partner, also there was no food being served (only cakes) and coffee in paper cups and cake in a cardboard dish... Using covid as an excuse is no longer acceptable as every other coffee shop have crockery and cutlery... Left dissapointed as drove from Swansea and was looking forward to a full experience... Maybe mention on website that there's no food and the use of cardboard maybe??

Coffee served in a paper cup is far from acceptable, and using Covid as an excuse is not acceptable, staff could do with training on how to deal with customers, Customers are the purpose of the business not an interruption of it.

Stumbled across this place when driving through on holiday in September. I think we visited almost everyday on our holiday. We loved the coffee so much I now subscribe to the beans. We took a detour on our trip to Pembrokeshire to make sure we stopped off her for another coffee. Everything this business stands for is great and the staff are amazing friendly.

We are massive fans of Coaltown and everything this innovative and ethical business is trying to achieve. We live in London and regularly buy Coaltown coffee via mail order. It was terrific to be able to visit in person. Very friendly guy serving on a Saturday morning and welcoming feel about the place. Coffee was exquisite. Only tiny shame was we couldn’t use our loyalty points in person. Well done Coaltown and you deserve all the success coming your way.

Open for takeaways. Excellent cappuccino best I've had in the area. Prompt courteous service. Plenty of parking. Well worth calling in if you're passing through or visiting Ammanford and like your coffee.

Attended the Coaltown Roastery last week after hearing so much about the venue. It was everything and more that one could expect. The layout and ambiance were perfect,an array of work streams were on show which made the coffee even more special. One of the best for taste and quality.

This place is fantastic. The staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is great. Scott the owner is very kind and let me use the upstairs training room for free which I very much appreciated. The coffee is really good and the sourdough toast with homemade jam is to die for. I am not from Ammanford but have visited this place a few times and will be again.

The coffee is so good bought several packs for home. Watched the "chef" just chuck the food on the plate no care. Not suitable for kids especially as the chef is not friendly just NO when you ask for something left off a plate or...

Been there few times. Went with friends today & it wasn't disappointing. Coffee quality was outstanding & the Wood oven baked PIZZA tasted yummy.
