Lovey restaurant in StabelYard, set in the grounds of Hatfield House. Lovely coffee and you can take away. Food reasonable prices, and restaurant very clean and lovely ambience. My only criticism is to have more choice of Sandwiches ie, Traditional fillings like cheese and onion, or cheese and pickle. Other that that its a lovey place to chill and sit and watch the world go by.

Enjoyed a fantastic meal after exploring the Hatfield House grounds. I particularly enjoyed the friendly service given by Delphi who went above and beyond to ensure my table were satisfied and even recommended what to order.

Visited for breakfast on Sunday. No one came to table to take our order or bring ya a menu so we needed to ask. Face our order and paid for 2 full English, one granola with yoghurt and fruit and one eggs Benedict, plus drinks. The waitress then returned 10 mins later with drinks and stayed that there were no sausages but they could offer extra bacon (10am don't sold out from today?) . Had no real choice as we had already paid. Small portion size of breakfast and egg cold. Granola started that it came with banana and blueberries, no blueberries and the banana was dried! Portion size was tiny! No one came to ask how our food was despite lots of staff on shift just chatting to each other,no one said goodbye or such on our exit. I shan't be returning, we spent over£50 between us with little service and not great food. Such a shame as it used to be our go to.

It's okay. For the price I want flavor and I don't want to leave hungry. Okay, isn't good enough. I had the lamb and wanted it to be so much better. It's sad because it's lovely in there and the staff are very good.

Went on a day out to Hatfield House for the day so went to the Coach House for lunch with the family. The food choices sounded pretty decent so I got the ploughman’s as it came with a scotch egg my Achilles Heal. The kids just had chips & halloumi fries as the house cost £66 we thought that we would eat quickly & get back & look round the gardens. The food took so long to come & when it did arrive was definitely not worth the wait. The scotch egg was average at best served with a slice of ham & a rather boring cheddar. The chips were so grim like the worse thick & uncrunchy plus the only mayo they had was vegan which made the poor chips pretty disgusting. Definitely not worth the £47 price tag would recommend just going to the ice cream place over the road which is equally as expensive but delicious.

The atmosphere and Service are really great. However, the Scone even with jam and cream was very dry, and so was the Victorian cake

Crowds, waiting and worries. Food is very mediocre and we waited for it for 40 minutes. Do not recommend, but there is no choice, sadly

Avoid at all costs. This has to be one of the worst levels of service i have ever experienced at a restaurant. When you first enter it is not immediately clear if you are meant to be shown to a table by a waiter or if you find a table yourself and order at the till. We stood about for ages next to the ‘wait to be seated’ sign but no staff member bothered to acknowledge us. After we actively sought out a waiter, we were told to sit wherever we liked. Things were further confused by the fact there were signs and QR codes on the tables telling you to order on your phone, but this function was not working; ends up you can only order at the till. Ordering at the till was also not without its problems. The staff member at the till initially put my order through incorrectly and had to seek help from a colleague to correct this mistake. I ordered a roast chicken, but whereas my friends’ roasts both arrived, mine never appeared. I complained to a staff member after 30 mins of waiting and was told the order had not reached the kitchen and unfortunately the kitchen was no longer serving roasts. I was offered the opportunity to order a burger as a replacement, or i could get a full refund and a free panini instead. I chose the panini and refund as my friends had both finished their roasts and i wasn’t prepared to risk wasting another 30 minutes waiting for food which might not arrive. I had written this restaurant off by this point and just wanted something quick to eat which would do me until i got back to London. The complimentary panini should have taken only a matter of minutes to toast, but they even managed to mess that up. After a further 15 minutes of waiting i had to complain again. Ends up a staff member forgot to take it out of the toaster. I final got something to eat after waiting over 45 mins. Ironically, despite being in the toaster for 15 mins, the panini was barely toasted; the cheese had not melted at all. It was a rather pathetic panini. Another member of our party ordered a roast beef but he was only told after he had paid that there was only the roast chicken left. He was entitled to a £1 refund as the chicken was cheaper than the beef, but no staff member offered this and he decided against pushing the issue as he wasn’t convinced the staff could quickly and competently refund his card. I don’t like to be overly critical of staff who work in restaurants. It can be a stressful job for little pay or appreciation, but i really have to question the competence and communication skills of the staff who work in this restaurant. It soured the end to what had been a really good day visiting Hatfield House.

0 star Unfortunately, I had a truly disappointing experience at this restaurant that I feel compelled to share. The food was unpalatable; I ordered fish and chips that were shockingly underprepared, with scales still on the fish — a basic oversight that questions their kitchen practices. The chips were completely flavorless, resembling nothing but air. When I requested a different dish, hoping for an improvement, I was instead served a dish with raw avocado drenched in an excessive amount of oil. This experience made it clear that there was a fundamental lack of respect for patrons. People trust that their choice to dine here will be met with quality service and food, and unfortunately, that was not my experience. It's not just about the money spent, but about respecting customers by providing a meal worth their time and trust.

Went for a roast dinner. Waited over an hour for food. Roast potatoes might as well had been boiled, not a slight bit of crispiness, beef was tough and dry. Won't be returning. Better off at a Toby's carvery it's that bad.

The potato salad with my ribs was not very nice at all. I left it on the plate and went home hungry. It’s a shame when you pay £22 for a meal and feel that you could’ve cooked better at home.

Extremely disappointing. Menu was limited and expensive but I placed 2 orders on the table-service app. Some drinks and then later 2 teas, with a scone for my friend and a cake for me. Scone cost £5.75 but obviously shop-bought, was dry and my friend didn’t eat it. Wasn’t given jam and butter as ordered so had to ask for it. No apology and made to feel like I was at fault. Had to show my order to prove that I’d ordered correctly! This person looked like a manager. Quite rude. Ordered Earl grey with that order but received regular tea instead. We didn’t even bother complaining at this point! After 10 mins of my friends order arriving, mine still hadn’t so I asked the manager to chase. That didn’t happen. It was not busy and I could see they were serving new customers rather than dealing with my order. Another 5 mins later, I had to go to the counter to ask where my order was. No one was dealing with it, it seems. Had to repeat my order and wait yet again. Unsurprisingly when it arrived, the order was wrong (Victoria sponge instead of gluten free coffee cake.) I told the waitress it was incorrect but there seemed confused so showed my order on my phone yet again. She then tells me that the cake I ordered is now sold out . Obviously it had been sold while I was sat waiting, being ignored, because the app greys out the sold out items which my choice wasn’t. By this point, I was not happy at all and felt like the visit had been a waste of my time. I requested a refund for the cake only to be to be visited by the manager again who t stated that, because I ordered on the app, it would take 48 hours. Again, no apology and I was made to feel like an inconvenience. There were other minor issues too, like stained cup, teapot lids were both broken. Feels very amateur and disorganised. I spent £20 on drinks and cake only to walk out feeling annoyed, disappointed and disrespected. I’m not usually someone to complain but this was ridiculous. I will not be going back and I’d urge others not to bother wasting their money either! Appalling service. Don’t be fooled by the nice decor and setting.

Had afternoon tea. Didn't like the rolls that were served in place of sandwiches, much too dry. All cakes had been either frozen or chilled; disappointing but the hot food being brought out looked great. Too noisy as well. Maybe if the piped music was turned off, people wouldn't have to speak so loudly.

A lovely interior with a great modern country house vibe in this restaurant. We visited on Thursday at lunchtime. The food is great. Ordered a takeaway from here last night after just moving to the area, and we couldn’t have been happier! The food was absolutely delicious, arrived quickly, and the person on the phone was super friendly and gave us great recommendations. My whole family was thrilled with the meal. This is our go yo place and has been since 1998. The food is of the highest standard and a good portion. The staff are swift, efficient and friendly. The place is clean and a welcoming environment. We usually have Tandoori or Tikka Chicken and occasionally a Chicken Korma. Over the years, l have tried most of the dishes, and they are all perfect.
