This cafe recently changed hands however carry out rolls and soup remain very tasty and competitively priced. Bacon roll delish and very good quality bacon. Other feedback for potato scones also very positive. It’s not really a sit in cafe as only one table to use while waiting on your order being made however excellent local choice for a quick carry out breakfast or lunch. Elderly Gentleman who serves is very nice and accommodating.

We have been consistently disappointed and disgusted by the scran on offer at Clyde street cafe. How you can make rolls that badly truly boggles the mind. The meat is of very poor quality (farmfoods cheap as chips range) and always cooked badly. Shop is very unclean. 1/10 avoid

Have been using this cafe for 5+ years, from when the old owner had it. Unfortunately after a cancer diagnosis he decided to sell up. Since Brittany took over the food has greatly improved. The cafe has always been reasonably priced also. I travel from one of the round about villages (24 mile round trip) for our morning rolls. Brittany has always been accommodating and has no bother making up our rolls the way we ask for them. I called at the start of the week to place my normal order and was surprised to find Brittany had been off for a month due to health complications. The girl that was on the grill was lovely and again accommodating of our order! I called a couple of days later placing my order as I always do to be met with a man on the phone. When I placed my order he refused to accommodate it and when I told him I would be making a complaint to Brittany once she returned. He became very condescending and arrogant on the phone telling me I would be complaining to him as he was the owner. His attitude absolutely stunk, and he definitely needs a lesson in customer service. You have now lost a loyal customer and I will take my service elsewhere.

We found this place after wandering away from the main touristy area on the Helensburgh esplanade. The Clyde St. Cafe is about 10 minutes walk east of the esplanade, but still opposite some beaches and lovely grassy area with seats. The Clyde St. Cafe is a fairly typical British style greasy spoon cafe. Due to social distancing rules, there is currently no indoor seating and everything is take out only. We were shown the box that would hold chips + curry and decide that was quite a lot. When we got the food, it was truly generous portion, and the price was excellent . You can see for yourself in the photo just how much was in one portion. I also got a latte and it was decent. Not quite as good as one made by a barista, but good enough. Clyde St. Cafe is a traditional British cafe selling food at very reasonable prices. It's not going to be fine dining and the prices were so keen that I have to give it an extra star. Plus, we enjoyed the curry chips.

Myself and my husband were on holiday in Tarbert over the weekend. We had a lovely day and got a bit peckish so decided to try this place. We ordered a mixed tikka dish and to say we were disappointed is mild. The meat in the dish was vile (chicken and I think beef?) both were tough/rubbery. The rice, chips and sauce/spices were nice but the meat let it down, and to top it off we were served warm cans of cola (didn’t offer us a glass) just gave us straws. We did let them know that we were not satisfied with the quality of the meat in the dish, the chef also came over to us and apologised and they did deduct (£2.80) from our bill. Sorry to say, but we will definitely not be returning customers 😟

Just been in here and the bald man behind the counter had an absolute stinking attitude towards my mother who is in a wheelchair and is hard of hearing. He was had a sarcastic tone when talking and was acting as if he’d rather be anywhere else.

What an earth has happened to this restaurant. 45 mins for first drink then half a bowl of soup, 2 little slices garlic bread £3.95. Main meal 1 was missed other one went back because of allergy which waiter was told of kitchen then scraped sauce off which was useless when it came back other meal was stone cold. In total over 2 hours for a restaurant half empty manager was told said he was "new" which he told us 6 weeks ago when our meal was an even worse disaster. Thought we would give them a chance whoever chef is needs replaced such a shame was a great place at one time heard loads of complaints from other people definitely wont be back

Very casual place. Food was great. I had the Jalapeño smash burger and the Korean BBQ wings. Burger is simple, not massive, but really well cooked. So many places manage to destroy burgers these days by trying to be too fancy or do massive over the top burgers. This place seems to just seems to nail a decent simple burger and it works! The wings were decent, good amount of meat, cooked well, nice sticky Korean BBQ sauce. The ice cream to finish is worth it too! And the best part was this place is very well priced! Very good value!
