The food was incredible, the hash brown tarmaslata and chicken dish were particularly yummy. The staff here are so approachable, genuine and friendly. The Interior is beautiful and has a very relaxed non-pretentious vibe. Staff are so knowledgeable about the menus. Overall, I would highly recommend.

Beautiful venue & had really high hopes. Unfortunately almost all dishes (excluding chicken main course) had a distinct old fish taste and smell to them. My partner also ended up with severe food poisoning, we contacted the restaurant 4 days ago informing them and have still had no response. This is so disappointing for a restaurant with such an incredible venue and a promise of great cooking.

Very unpalatable! ! Especially the fish appetizer, which is fishy and salty The quantity is also very small The service is also very average. I often call several times but they still don’t come. I put the cake box at my feet and took it away without saying a word. I lost the candle on it and just said I didn’t see it. I don’t know. 😅

Another excellent meal in Manchester, this time at this chic roof top restaurant with panoramic views over the city. Climat is certainly among Manchester’s best restaurants and would highly recommend it after our meal there. We went for their Carte Blanche menu; meaning we were happy to let the chef choose our dishes without knowing them in advance. We were then excited to be served a perfectly balanced 7 course menu that’s clearly focused on the best and freshest seasonal ingredients the north west has to offer. We really enjoyed all dishes served, with the highlight being the perfectly cooked hogget (see photo) which is beautifully balanced with the Romanesco sauce and chickpeas. The restaurant itself is elegant and unpretentious. It was fun to be in the open kitchen & watching these competent chefs in action. Service was also very good with one bearded gentleman (didn’t catch his name) who was particularly knowledgeable and showed a real passion for food and drink. The 7-course Carte Blanche menu costs £55 per person, which is incredible value for money for the quality of food being served & look forward to trying their a la Carte menu sometime in the future.

. . no pueden esperar a volver : - )

So, came here expecting quite a high level of culinary expertise and a ‘wine-lead’ meal…I collect wine and know quite a lot about it but to be honest, felt a little patronised. The first question ‘well …what wine do you like?’ was understandable but I was expecting more of a ‘well, you will be eating this I recommend this glass with this etc etc…..’ I didn’t learn anything and the wine was not amazing, or truly that original. The food, also a bit of a disappointment ….. chefs choice …but uninspiring tastes …felt quite mass produced. Sorry about this review, but felt I had to post it as climat seems like it is falling in love with itself and could go the way of many Manc restaurants focussing on image rather than great food and wine.

We had such high hopes for this place, as we had seen and heard a lot of good things about it. We ordered 6 dishes between 2 of us including a dessert to share so we could get a good feel for the menu. We were so disappointed with the taste and quality of the food, not to mention finding a hair in the beef tartare! This was taken off the bill with an apology from our server, however the manager did not come over to the table to apologise. Aside from this, the service was great, and the venue is lovely, with fantastic views over the Manchester skyline. We enjoy eating out a lot, and personally feel this was one of the most disappointing menus we’ve tasted, with complete lack of flavour, which is absolutely not reflected in the price. Unfortunately we would not return and also would not recommend to our friends.

Been there for a birthday. Starters, anchovies (over priced) . Steak tartar, no idea why, but smashed on the plate and just plain and quite too much hot. As a main we had the fish (tasteless) and baby chicken, which wasn't bad, but average. The best dish was the side roasted potatoes (you can tell if the best one is the side) They welcome us asking for the birthday booking and they didn't offer anything after dinner or a detail for it. After paying more than 120 (20% January deal), I have to say everything was average but the views.

Honestly one of the best bits of monkfish I have ever eaten. A lot of that was the theme - take a perfect ingredient and do it justice, not overly complicated. Welcome didn’t feel all that warm, as though we might have accidentally found ourselves on this umpteenth floor of a random back alley building rather than made a booking and gone there intentionally. Wine list is interesting.

I was very excited for my partner and I to visit for New Year’s Eve. We made the booking a couple of weeks prior to NYE, but on December 27, I received and email stating that there would only be a £100 pp set menu available. While I understand that restaurants do set menus for NYE, there was nothing stated about it when we booked. When I called to see if we could order off the normal menu, they said no but were not apologetic about the last-minute change. I cancelled the booking because I thought it was quite cheeky to change the plans on customers so last minute, especially on NYE. Now it’s too late to make a booking anywhere else, so they’ve really negatively affected my NYE plans…. Next time, I’d recommend making the set menu known when booking. I’m very disappointed!

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. There are reams of academic studies supporting the theory that restaurants more than 5 storeys above street level are wildly overpriced and deliver sub-standard food. Not in this case - very smart modern small-plates using ingredients of exceptional provenance. We had the ‘carte blanche’ menu, leaving it up to the chef to decide. Each dish was a knockout - a perfectly balanced tasting menu for a reasonable price. Expert sommelier, as you expect for an establishment with a WINE ROOM.

Really overpriced for what it was, we were told the further down the menu we went the bigger the plates got… I think they meant the physical plates because he had a “snack” that had more substance than the £26 lamb! Service was okay, seemed very moody and patronising when we were struggling to pronounce one of the dishes. Beef tartare tasted of mostly vinegar and was brown as if it had been left out. I’d go back for drinks because the view is lovely but not food as it is just so overpriced.

We ordered a selection of small dishes and mains to share with wines suggested by the restaurant sommelier. Our server was so lovely and she was very informative and knowledgeable of the dishes available. There wasn't much of an atmosphere, however, we did arrive just as the restaurant opened. I'm sure it would be much better with more diners. Accessibility wise, when you come through the main door, there is a lift up to the restaurant at the far end. This restaurant is definitely a luxury eat-out option taking into consideration the price per person. I would however recommend a visit. You won't be disappointed.

For a place that bills itself as 'wine-led', how could they get a pairing so wrong? The food is very good, the setting lovely. That must be said. After some discussion about wine, the sommelier (?) never took the sauce of the grilled fish into consideration. It was a delicious sweet and sour vinaigrette, more tomato than apricot. And nor did my wine arrive in a timely fashion, but about half-way through that course. In general, the service was disappointing, neglectful at times, and the place was not crowded at all. After being made to wait outside of the building with no explanation or answer to the video call—we were about three minutes early—, we were mysteriously buzzed in. There is no sign in the lift to remind you that you are going to the rooftop. The host was cordial, if distant. The server, who was the most kind and accessible person I encountered, made a mistake in my order, which was caught through interaction with someone else who offered neither acknowledgement nor apology. Had the experience been more positive, I might have ordered dessert. The choices were intriguing.

I wanted to like Climat, it has been on the radar for a while having been impressed by the ‘A wine led restaurant’ strap line. The reality is that it didn’t live up to my expectations. It was pleasant, nothing more really, the wine experience was shallow, like the food. Just a double sided A4 experience of basic wine choices, not the extensive repertoire I expected. The food was, I mentioned, average. I had the steak tartare which was clearly prepared in advance as the meat had browned, granted it was a hot day for Manchester at 26 degrees but this is inexcusable as the restaurant was catering for around 10 covers at the time. We sampled other dishes including Scottish Langoustine, a vegan mushroom gnocchi and various side dishes which were all just ok. The whole experience clearly passed us by and we both lamented on the fact that we wouldn’t be rushing back. One other point, it was a hot day for a stereotypical Mancunian, call me old fashioned but I still attended wearing a shirt and trousers for our early evening table. I expected that some diners may elect to wearing tailored shorts. I didn’t expect to see the waiting staff in such casual dress, one in particular wearing casual shorts and old trainers, summed up our evening to be honest. Attention to detail, it will make or break you, simple as…

Maybe the best restaurant in central Manchester. Most of the meet and the fish are grilled in the charcoal which gives a deep aftertaste and a light smokiness. Excellent wine list to accompain the food. I was also impressed with the desserts it is rare to find a restaurant that has better deserts than a good pastry shops. The only issue is that we had booked a table for 8.15 but we had to wait in the bar for over 20 min. However, the food and the service was worth waiting for.

We came to Climat to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. The view from the restaurant is outstanding - especially as we were there on a sunny day. The staff were efficient and friendly. The food, although good, was very small portion wise, based on the recommended number of plates per person. We felt it was overpriced for what we had. The standout dishes were the tuna and gougeres. The plates were well paced. There was a vast selection of wine, again, very expensive. I would recommend Climat for a very special occasion if you don’t mind spending a lot but don’t go on an empty stomach. I would also add that, like most restaurants we have been to for birthdays/special occasions, the restaurant staff made little effort to recognise this which was a bit disappointing.

I was a little sceptical about climat with it having a rooftop views and the type of people it attracts like 20 stories but it's really low key without any pretentious. The food was excellent from the potato hash through to the ceviche. All plates were well sized and tasted sublime. There is an extensive wine list and I would recommend trying by the glass. The minimum price for a bottle was £38 and we plumped for the next price range, which started at £58 so it's not cheap. They do have a good drink selection with local beers and cocktails. I would go again and highly recommend.

Fantastic service, particularly from Dylan - he is a star - accommodating, knowledgeable and a great sense of humour. The food in general was fantastic - standouts were the Hash Browns, Gougeres, Poussin, Tempura Asparagus and the Black Forest Eclair. The Hogget and Courgette Side dish were underwhelming and a bit bland. Drinks on the expensive side, particularly when wine is served in a 500ml Carafe. Seeing that the dishes are served to you "when ready" the tables aren't big enough to fit all the plates on, particularly if you haven't finished a dish before the next ones arrive so it all becomes a bit of a mess. Views over the City Centre are good - one of the few in Manchester where you can experience this.

So on a business trip went to this on my own for a chefs table but it was very empty so got a nice table. 2 courses were excellent - nice 500ml wine option for one but there were no carbs on what was offered for £50 of food. The options for extras were very butter based which I don’t like - ended up buying some chips on the way back to hotel. Others have mentioned this in reviews they need to address - a small portion of dauphinoise potatoes or something like that with the turbot would have sealed the dish. It’s close to a Michelin star but not there yet.

Have eaten here a few times, have been disappointed each time. So much hype in the media , all positive, made me think I was just unlucky in our choices. It describes itself as a wine led restaurant, wines are excellent, huge choice . However food is poor. Furnishings are basic and not that comfortable. Not only is the setting and service divine, there are some Michelin star level options on the menu that OBVIOUSLY the chef has iterated and mastered over months and years: the turbot was an absolute triumph.

Good restaurant in central Manchester. I'd read about this, and booked it for a date as soon as I had the opportunity to try it after hearing good things, and it didn't disappoint. The atmosphere is vibrant but non judgemental, the menu concise but refined. We ordered a starter, three mains and an "extra" alongside a bottle of wine which came to £120 with the (arguably) optional service charge, which felt like the standard price for a meal for two, however you could easily spend much more. The wine selection is good, and the dishes, which are sharing plates are familiar while unique enough to be memorable (such as the Beef Tatar, which is served with prawn crackers). A standout for me was the Poussin which was delicious when paired with a side of potatoes. Slightly pink and tender, with a satisfyingly succulent taste. Eating that while viewing the Manchester skyline was a treat, especially given the restaurant is slightly above eye level with other buildings in Deansgate, such as St.Anne's church. I'd highly recommend it.

Great views over Manchester. Really inventive, and delicious food paired with excellent wine. Staff are attentive and service is excellent. Menu is expensive, but excellent value for money. I would highly recommend, especially if you want something different for a special occasion or just to treat yourself!

Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the experience here. Upon arriving the door was locked and the buzzer didn't work. We had to wait for someone to leave before we could get in. The staff were disinterested, unfriendly and moody; we didn't feel welcome. The wine list was not provided until we asked, and we ordered the sourdough which was 1 slice of bread cut in half. This made the experience feel pretentious and stingy. They didn't offer to change our plates between courses. The environment and view was beautiful and the food was great; well seasoned, exciting combinations and decent portions apart from the bread. The chefs are being let down by the rest of the operation.

It pains me to write this negative review but we waited 25 (!) minutes outside the building waiting to get in. No answer on the phone, email or instagram, we just arrived on time for our reservation but the door was just locked. Eventually we were let inside but it was a horrendous and stressful start to what would have been a sweet birthday celebration. My wife is still visibly sad by the way we were treated prior to getting inside. Once seated the service was impeccable and the food was great. If anyone from the team is reading this: please just hire a security guard to let people in downstairs

The enterence is very dark and a bit grim but once inside, the view is great, so is the service, but hard to distinguish staff from customers as a uniform or apron isn't worn. The wine list is vast and the food, although delicious, is on the pricey side. ie £30 for a single pork chop! Not a place you would go on a regular basis, more for special occasions.

Fab food and service but please get a coffee machine! I don't expect to pay £200 for food/wine for 2 and be offered filter coffee, I want an espresso. Thanks!

Brilliant service from start to finish, very knowledgeable and friendly staff (great recommendations on what to order for our meal and good wine and cheese knowledge), beautiful views, and the food was excellent.

This place is style over substance and yet it gets the style all wrong. The layout is a mess, the music too loud. The front of house server was so bad. Barely a welcome; didn’t take our coats until they had fallen off our chairs a bunch of times. The state of the toilets was dismal, and again front of house had to be told twice of the “mess” that needed to be dealt with. 🤢 The service staff are very trendy but haven’t a clue about service. Except for Freya, who was fun friendly and attentive. Also I really resent paying £3 per bottle for filtered water. You’re already fleecing us on the wine! (£45 minimum) Theo food was good; not amazing. But when it’s over £100 per head the assumption is that you’re paying for an experience not just a good meal.

Climat is right up there with the best small plates restaurants in Manchester like Erst and Another Hand. The pork chop in particular was amazing - perfectly cooked and full of flavour. Everything else was also very nice, but the pork chop was definitely the highlight. The atmosphere is pretty cool too, with a nice view of Manchester.

We went for drinks and the lovely view. We got up to the top of the restaurant, and they said they had space for us. We then go in, and they decide, in fact that there is no room even though there were multiple free tables and seats at the bar. They even let you book seats at the bar on open table. Felt very pretentious - We were excited to relax with a bottle of wine.

I have never had anything so overpriced and so poor taste wise. 16£ for a pizza of this quality? On a thick dough? With cheese that’s not even a proper mozzarella? In Italy people go to jail for that. Chicken tikka - expensive, hard to bite, dry. I would have finished my meal and left but knowing how expensive that was, I think people deserve a word of recommendation. And my recommendation is - do not eat here.
