Cleopatra's Coffee Shop in Wrexham

Just had a delicious Sunday lunch at Cleopatras bistro. It was very tasty, we will be returning very soon.

Cleopatra's is a favourite coffee stop for cyclists, but we thought we would try it for an evening meal. It was fantastic. The menu is varied without the usual over emphasis on burgers and pizzas, food was excellent and the staff pleasant and welcoming. Best of all prices were reasonable and drinks well below local prices. I could not recommend Cleopatra's highly enough.

Title says it all really. Had a takeaway sossage and bacon sandwich and a cappuccino. It came with 1 sossage cut in half In the middle of the sandwich not a lot of bacon and bread was incredibly dry and just really very disappointing that paired with the price is just a joke. If you charge premium prices then you need a premium product! Throwing a couple of crisps in the tray with sandwich doesn't make my experience any better, I didn't ask for them, I asked for a sandwich I would much rather just have a decent sandwich! Staff were very friendly but that is the only positive. A greggs sandwich is nicer for about £2!

Loved our visit here, food was gorgeous, the staff were incredibly lovely, one lady in particular, unsure of her name, but she was so friendly and accommodating, couldn't recommend this place highly enough. Definitely be back ❤️

Had an early dinner at this gem of a bistro..chef went out of his way to cook a meal which wasn't on the normal menu and it was truely outstanding. Friendly staff fantastic service and a real homely feel about it..we absolutely loved the whole experience and we will definately be going back...thank you so much. An outstanding addition to the village

Following a lengthy period of shielding , my mother in Law asked “ where could she go for a coffee” with one of her close friends. As a cyclist I am aware of the amazing service and food at Cleos. She visited and was delighted. Well done to the team

FANTASTIC pizzas and amazingly lovely service!We ordered two takeaway pizzas for a birthday evening in and were delighted with the quality of the pizzas and the wonderfully friendly service we received. We had the Mexicana pizza (lovely, flavoursome Mexican beef!) and the bacon/Brie/cranberry pizza which was also delicious. Thin, crisp bases with quality toppings. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Can’t wait to return to the area sometime soon to dine in. I really hope an independent place like this can survive the tricky times for small businesses we find ourselves in - support them however you can! We will be back!

A little gem of a place to stop off whilst on a ride out. The coffee and cakes are great especially the Guinness one. The staff are really friendly especially the young lady serving. She is so lovely and is always smiling, makes the visit all that much better!

Lovely host and Greek food and soft drinks and a double espresso to finish excellent..tried out new soft drinks which I hadn’t tried out and COVID 19 friendly

We stopped in holt and found this great place. We had a metre shared between us. It was lovely. Obviously all made on the premises. If you don’t like lots of garlic then don’t order this . I’m gluten free and this was all ok for me and they had gluten free bread too. ., great value, wonderful service. It’s a popular place and we will certainly be going back

We stumbled across this place while staying nearby and all i can say is i am go glad we did. We had the soup to start and the chicken skewers followed by the world best chocolate mousse. all dishes were perfection. the timing between courses was spot on and the staff we friendly and attentive offering recommendations when requested. the wines are lovely and reasonable priced with a well stocked bar for any other options. definitely hope to visit again. thank you

Not being from the area we looked around to find a suitable place for dinner. After reading some very good reviews we decided to book Cleopatras and they delivered with an excellent experience. Staff were very attentive and helpful and the food was to die for, especially in these difficult times it looks like they have put a lot of time and effort into making the experience as normal as possible. We liked it so much we came back for breakfast which was equally as good. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. Give them a try you will not be disappointed! Roger & Lisa Bailey x

The food is great quality, fresh and generous in portion size. The value for money is very good. I can recommend the milkshakes and pizzas. Very nice situation in the heart of the village with easy parking. The standout was the excellent serving staff.

Last Sunday Cleopatra's was our chosen mid morning break on our ride from Newport (Shropshire). A great choice.Whilst my fellow cyclists had a hearty bacon sandwich I plumped for the Waffle with bacon and maple syrup. Even though the sandwich's looked great when the waffle turned up I was impressed - 3 rashers of bacon and a generous covering of syrup - really hit the spot.We sat outside in gorgeous sunshine and was amazed at the passing cyclists and the number availing themselves to this great cafe.

An evening out to a restaurant is not only about the quality of the food. It is about the whole experience the warmth of the welcome the friendliness the attentive service the presentation and pride in the dishes offered. Cleopatras scored well on all aspects.

We made our way through the local flooding for a bite to eat before journeying back home to derbyshire and were really happy with our experience. Lovely food and service. Special mentions to the hot chocolate and the sourdough rolls!

Came across this delightful little coffee shop quite by accident. We had the "all day breakfast" it was really tasty and plenty of it, the only slight downfall was the toast which was under-done. However, we enjoyed it and would recommend.

We live over the bridge in Farndon and have visited Cleopatras a few times now for lunch which is always gorgeous. We decided to book for an evening meal on the 18th Jan to celebrate 10 years together. Food was absolutely gorgeous - we went for the ribs and the South African kebabs for mains both perfectly cooked. The service was also excellent and atmosphere absolutely lovely and relaxed. We will definitely return and would recommend to anyone.

We had a family get together, 8 of us for brunch. Plenty of choice of food, quality of the food was fantastic. The service was excellent and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. I’d definitely recommend to anyone.

I saw the chef from Cleopatra's do a cookery demonstration at the Wrexham Food Festival and made a note to visit his bistro when we were next in the area as our whole family are huge fans of Greek food. My husband and I called in yesterday afternoon on our way from Cheshire Oaks for a bite to eat and had the Meze Platter for 2. All items were absolutely delicious - so obvious that the hummus and tzatiki are homemade and the spicy meatballs were divine! (My husband also commented on how nice the coffee is). We'll be returning with our girls when they are home from uni for Christmas !!

How have I not been here before?? The menu is a low frills range of good quality food in a small, clean and comfortable dining room overseen by friendly staff. If you haven’t yet tried it, it is most definitely worth the trip

I visited here on Tuesday with my family. It was lunch time and extremely busy, both Megan and Chloe is we’re very friendly and attentive. The restaurant area was full so they suggested we had drinks in the “VIP” area and as soon as a table became available they would reserve it for us. The food was amazing. The attention to detail throughout our visit was noticed. We are already planning our next visit, and as suggested by the girls we think an evening meal is in order. Overall lovely experience.

Megan was a wonderful hostess in the place of her boss, who was away. She was happy to help and made sure that we had everything that we needed. Each time we went to the Bistro the greeting was the same. Megan treats everyone the same.

This is honestly my favourite restaurant, its better than anywhere in chester and feels like home. The food quality is out of this world and all the staff are like family but are also very professional and friendly.

Lovely lunch at this place today. Been here lots of times normally just for coffee and cake or coffee and sandwich which is lovely too but ordered hot food today and it was very tasty and nicely presented. The Staff are a credit to the owners of this place they can’t do enough for you and truly worth their weight in gold. Very child friendly nothing to much trouble. Visit again soon!

We had an impromptu evening meal at Cleopatra's and what a fantastic experience. The steak has to be the best I have had in a very long time and my husbands chicken dish was cooked to perfection. The wine was the perfect accompaniment and all recommended by courteous, welcoming, friendly and hospitable staff. This is a shining gem of a venue and highly recommended.

We work in the food industry ourselves and appreciate when we find real food, properly cooked, and an interesting and varied menu too! It was so good, we came back the second night of our stay. The hosts were welcoming and friendly. The decor fresh but cosy. And the food was fantastic. Fresh, delicious and perfectly cooked. A true gem of a place. Thank you to all whom we met - we hope our paths may cross again. And soon! We wish you well in your endeavours - we appreciate just how much work goes into making a place as good as this - you're doing a great job.

My partner & I were passing through the area and stopped by here. We’d only eaten a piece of toast each in the morning so we were very hungry.

I am a regular at this popular Bistro and often stop off on my bike rides for a drink (as I did today), or have a special treat like lunch or coffee & cake with friends.

Arrived with a group of cyclists on a very busy Saturday lunch Staff were so busy they were almost flustered but dealt with 8 lunches pronto, good food, great value - thankyou!

Have been coming for quite a while and have always felt comfortable but unfortunately are visit today was very very disappointing. We bought a Birthday cake to be brought out at end of meal (brunch)as a surprise they then had to be reminded about bringing the cake and announced in a loud voice “how many candles “ by then the surprise was no more. I appreciate they were busy but there was know need for the rude, bad manner in which we were spoken to in front of all the other customers. Every place I have ever gone to for a birthday meal always know when/how to do a birthday cake. I was shocked that they could get it so wrong. It spoilt it for the person it was for and all of us. I think they need to know how to speak/treat customers or they will find people will not come.

Lovely cafe/bistro. Excellent service a chilled bottle of water brought straight to the table as I looked at the menu lots of choice. Top quality Adams and Russellcoffee. Relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. Give it a try.

Stopped in on a cycle ride to Wales, great greeting on entry and food was served fast and was delicious!! Really recommend a stop, lots of great meals and light bites served. Hope to come back soon.

We were originally going to the cafe at the garden centre, but as it was so busy we decided to go elsewhere. I didn’t even know that Cleopatra’s existed! We nipped in for some lunch, they were really apologetic as they were so busy there was a bit of a wait on food. The food was lovely and the staff were really friendly, I’ll definitely be visiting again soon!

Love this place , staff are very very friendly. So polite always smiling and laughing. Even when rushed off their feet . Attend to every ones needs . Great tasting food coffee and alcohol. Coffee cake is to die for !!! . definitely not for sharing as my husband has noticed . Nice place to sit out and just watch everything and everyone great little location.. Holt is such a pretty and friendly village .

Found this delightful bistro after leaving a washed out Car Fest. We received an extremely warm welcome and had a delicious cooked breakfast; excellent value and a great find and wish it was nearer to our home!

Three of us had the spicy nachos and they were amazing. Probably the best I’ve ever had but definitely spicy. Well presented, delicious food. Everything looked fresh and was cooked to order. Other person had a wrap and that was very good too - came with salad and fries and was a big meal. Friendly helpful staff. Dairy free diet catered for. Lovely decor. Would definitely recommend.

I nipped in here today for a quick cake and coffee stop during my ride and was very impressed. The staff were great and very friendly and the air conditioning made for a great escape from the intense heat outside. I was offered a complimentary top up of my water bottle which is something that I have never been offered before and was very welcomed. My cappuccino and cake was also very nice.

The overall impression on arriving was one of lovely, light surroundings, with a variety of seating arrangements, inside and out. The staff were immediately welcoming and friendly. The loos are clean and well looked after with some interesting decor! We were then served with a truly lovely plate of food + sides, that was great value for money, looked good and tasted even better. The glass of wine to accompany was well priced, good quality and perfectly chilled! All in all, we had the best kind of lunch combining all the ingredients, service and surroundings needed. A must to visit.

Visited here last weekend, after a lovely little stay at there cottage next store. Fab little bistro in a gorgeous village. The bistro is full of light and warmth, you can tell it is run by good people. The staff was ever so helpful and polite. The food was amazing, and presented beautifully. We can not wait to come back and try something else. Would recommend to anyone.

Having moved into Farndon recently, we were delighted to be recommended to visit Cleopatra’s in Holt. Everyone ( owners, staff etc) associated with this place are wonderful. Food is first class, and service also. They make you feel wanted and valued, regardless of a one off visit or as a regular.

this was a great find (thanks trip advisor!) we needed an early start for breakfast and this place opens at 8.30 so was perfect. The menu was really varied so I’m sure there would be something for anyone. Coffee was lovely, and so were the staff!

Very friendly staff, Megan and James who both went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Great service and choice for lunch in fact hard to choose from such variety! Quality food well presented and delicious too. Very helpful as one if us is coeliac, good knowledge of menu and safe options.

What a hidden gem of a place this is. We took a detour having stayed overnight at Carden Park Hotel and stopped for a light lunch at Cleopatra's. A warm welcome awaited as we opened the door to find a larger than expected coffee shop Bistro. The service was exceptional but moreover the food was outstanding. I had the home made Butternut and chilli soup and I have to say I have tried to recreate it on several occasions since returning home but nothing matches the flavour! My husband had a toastie which he said was very tasty and well garnished. We both could have sat and waited until we were both hungry again but felt we might outstay our welcome! We will definitely return when next in the area. Many thanks

Popped into here for some lunch after being recommended. The place itself is decorated nicely, the staff were amazing at their jobs and made us feel welcomed. The food itself was also really good at a reasonable price too, will definitely come here all the time now, there's nothing bad to say about the place.

Phil and Helen deliver the best atmosphere in their quant bistro. Food is fresh and cooked to order, passion is what you eat and feel. There is pride in what this place delivers and it has been since the beginning. I pop in every 6 months or so and enjoy the welcome I get. Great Greek choices with a South African spin, catch Phil’s special days when he does a South African bbq. Top marks as is consistent.

OMG the food here is amazing! the owners/chef are so friendly chef is South African/Greek so the best of both worlds and came out to have a chat with everyone and explained all food including the vegetables were cooked to order, and it showed it appearance and taste (confirmed by my friend) I had kebabs and the most amazing salad. I will be returning again and again especially when we have foodie relatives to stay. Thank you to everyone at Cleopatras. Outstanding in every way, what a hidden gem

This was our second visit to Cleopatra's for an evening meal. Pleasureable evening with good food and a range of alcoholic drinks to choose from. We all enjoyed our food and service was friendly and prompt. We will definitely be back again.

Well, it was a bit of a sombre day really we had travelled up from Bury to pay our respects to a fellow ex-serviceman of our regiment, being a bit early and not knowing the area we walked around the corner from St Chads Church and, stubbled on Cleopatras Bistro. Well, what a find, entered and we were met with a very warm & friendly welcome nothing was too much trouble, ordered our Lattes & food while waiting we were asked by one or two of the customers

Cleopatra's has been a favourite local cafe of mine for quite a while and somewhere I regularly take my elderly mother and daughter to. We have a booking in November which I'm now reconsidering. My latest visit was a bit of a spur of the moment decision and I already had sandwiches with me at work but my daughter needed food and we both wanted drinks too. I said on arrival to the waitress that I would like to eat what I'd brought but of course order hot food, drinks and cakes for my daughter and myself - there was no issue, she smiled, said ok and took our order. If I'd been asked not to eat what I had I wouldn't have had too much of an issue, but there was nothing said.

Have been to Cleopatras a few times now but always when it is very busy in the summer. We went yesterday and it was much quieter but the service hasn’t dropped, neither has the friendliness from the staff. Great coffee, great cake, great food all round

Came upon a Bistro in Holt, North Wales, following recommendation from my brothers friend, while I was visiting from Australia.

We really enjoyed our evening at Cleopatra's. The atmosphere was cosy and the staff really welcoming. My husband was offered a taster of the beer, which is always a good start. We opted for a steak and chicken. The steak was very good and the vegetables and mash with the chicken were lovely and garlicky. The chicken was okay, but not to my taste. I would have preferred some sauce or gravy on the side. To be fair, it came exactly as stated in the menu. The tiramisu was fabulous as was my cake and ice cream. The staff couldn't have been nicer. We'll definitely go again.

As always, staff and food excellent!! We will certainly be going back soon, its such a relaxing place to eat.

Came here last month for an evening meal, after a long walk in the area. We were handed the huge main menu, a specials menu and a lunch menus and were told we could order anything from any of the menus. Several items eg. the pizzas appeared on all 3 menus all with completely different prices on each. A Margarita pizza was around £8 on the main menu, yet £14 on the lunch menu with salad. Who would pay £14 for lunch? We all joked that they must have used a random number generator to set the prices as the pie, chips and side salad was around £7, yet a pizza, chips and side salad would be around £18

We went here after a final fitting for my sisters wedding. It was recommended by the lovely lady at the dress shop Tilly Annas. We loved the food and the place was decorated beautifully. The staff were so welcoming and friendly as well. I'm definitely going there again when I'm next up around Wrexham (where my sister lives).

This is an upmarket Bistro as can be deduced from the decor and the menu. The foods are well presented and delicious. Everything is homemade and thoroughly appetising. A well stocked bar serves alcoholic drinks as well as a range of coffees. Inside and outside seating is yours to choose.

My American friends and I stopped at Cleopatra's en route to a castle in Wrexham. After a few weeks in England and lots of lovely food, we wanted something Mediterranean and "different." We were not disappointed here. A broad menu, eclectic decor, a bright and sunny day (truly) and wonderful food! The desserts got the attention of several of us, even though it was early lunchtime. Great hospitality. It was worth going a round-about way to get to our destination.

A nice place for a coffee and snack in the beautiful village of Holt. Plenty of choice on their menu and always a nice welcome. I'd recommend a visit to Cleopatra's.

As I write this, I’m sat in this beautiful Cafe in Holt. Me and my friend decided to visit here after an amazing experience in the past. (More on that later).

Lovely village place to stop for food and drinks with inside and outside seating. Great pint of Carlsberg Export and snack overlooking the village square. Also Open in evenings as a restaurant. Great friendly staff and cyclists who stop on their travels. Will be back as wonderful.

Tasty food and good service, especially from a waiter named James. They also had a reasonably priced lunch menu.

I visited several times while I was in Farndon for three weeks and was impressed with the excellent service and the friendly staff. Usually I just had tea and cake, but it was lovely to be welcomed so warmly each time and I particularly enjoyed...

Called in to see why so many people were milling about outside Cleopatra’s and realised why after our enjoyable meal.....service, food and coffee was excellent. We will certainly return to try other items on the menu. Fellow diners raved about their choices!

Found this quaint bistro on trip advisor when we were looking for somewhere decent to go out for a quiet quality meal that is not mass produced. We were not disappointed.

We’re a small Cycling club based in Chester and our routes regularly take us to Holt and this great cafe.

We visited on our way home to Manchester, from Wrexham. The food and service were exceptional. A real hidden gem.
