CUSTOMERS TALK ABOUT DISHES WITH.. coffee

comment_iconOpinions

Never had a bad experience here until served by a man working at the hot food counter. Incredibly rude and belligerent. Genuinely horrible guy don’t know why he’s working in hospitality with the attitude he has. Every customer is an adult and quite frankly very intelligent and he speaks down to them as if they’re stupid children. Decided against spending money here due to him and hope I never see him again!!!!

The clements coffee is a pleasant, comfortable and calm place, coffees and teas are good, lattes too 🫖☕️. The staff is friendly and helpful. I come regularly and this time I ordered the soup of the day 😋 with 2 slices of bread, it was good. It also has scones, croissants, sandwiches, paninis🥐🥞🥗🥪 Wifi is free and there are plenty of plug socket to charge your phone.

Needed some coffee & tea this afternoon, so based on local recommendation, Clements was chosen out of the dozen or so on Botanic. And it was a good call. Coffee was excellent, they had a “Belfast Blend” of tea, and our baristas/waiter was excellent.

Closes at 8pm, used to be open much longer pre pandemic and better service and food options, prices now more expensive too. Now they will serve you at cash till instead of at the table.

Horrible! Horrible! Myself and my sister called in here for breakfast. We were placing our order and the person at the till (dark hair tied up with an undercut style, glasses, very tall) was so impatient and rude to the point she rolled her eyes. Awful place! Waited ages for food which was not of great standard. We couldn't wait to get out of there the atmosphere was so uncomfortable. Never again!

Abysmal! One member of staff in particular has a boorish, aggressive attitude. When I was trying to order a breakfast he rolled his eyes and made ordering difficult with their butting in and rushed aggressive tone. I think this member of staff. Tall, glasses, very poor attitude, rude as hell, needs to take a course on delivering quality customer service. I wouldn’t go in to this establishment even if my mouth was as dry as the Sahara! The food was thrown at myself and my sister like we were pigs in a pen. Horrendous. Mediocre food at that. Sort your bolshi staff out. If they hate the job they shouldn’t be working with the public.

Dropped into Clements this afternoon for a coffee. There were 3 staff members on, and not one of them took a table order during those 10 minutes. The 3 of them spent half that time chatting behind the counter, and then 2 of them spent the next five minutes chatting to a group outside the cafe. Got up & left after 10 minutes to get a coffee somewhere else. Woeful customer service.

I would visit Clements @ Queens most Saturdays as my son attends a class there. Can't fault the standard of hot drinks and tray bakes. Always plenty of staff on, they just don't seem to do much. Time and time again waitresses/waiters bring orders down to customers and completely ignore the tables besides which are covered in the plates and cups of previous customers. Not one of them would think of running a dust pan and brush around the floor. I was wearing flip flops on Saturday and I was really sorry that I was. The floor was disgusting. As I was leaving, the sea of crumbs on the floor and the used cups and plates on the tables 5 members of staff stood chatting behind the counter with no sense of pride in their workplace. Seriously!!!!!!

Went to Clements for a coffee with my friends, we had never been before but always thought it looked nice when passing so wanted to give it a try. On arrival I did not know it was table service as as I said I had not been before. The waitress at the till rudely told us it was table service as if we were stupid. The waitresses on the floor, in particularly the one who took our order and serviced us were lovely however, the one at the till who had an accent (I presume she was not from Belfast or Ireland as English seemed to be here second language) was unbelievably rude. My friends card was playing up and instead of taking the time to help to sort it out and show courtesy as she used another card she had an extremely obnoxious facial expression, pulling faces with impatience and demonstrating a terrible attitude. I understand she English was not her first language however, she has a very good grasp of the language and this does not excuse her facial expressions and body language. I have worked as a waitress before in which there have been problems with payment due to technically constantly playing up however I would have never dreamed to treat a customer like this. I don’t know about her but this is not the way I expect to be treated when going out for a coffee of which I am paying for. The atmosphere and coffee was nice however it was ruined by her awful customer service skills displayed at the end. I will certainly not return simply because of the possibility she may be working.

I used to love Clements, it was always my go to place for coffee but a few years back after bad experiences I turned my back and started going elsewhere. I revisited a few stores again recently and was saddened to see that the service was terrible and the coffee was nowhere near as good as it once was, it's like they phone it in now, it's no wonder the larger chains are destroying them. What I also find amusing is that they still come off with the same old cries of "support local" etc, being local is no excuse for bad service, seeing their stores close one by one, it's safe to say their days are numbered which is not a bad thing.

Bought sandwiches on various occasions in the MBC, Queens. Very rarely would you get a fresh one. I have complained numerous times and have been told by staff that they freeze their bread. The fillings are minimal. I have cut my mouth on the soft part of the bread on numerous occasions. For some reason the middle of the bread is like a heal. Try to steer clear. Use the centra or other sandwich outlet

What a great way to start the day excellent coffee and very nice breakfast. We had two x Clements breakfast, one x Clements Wheaton with eggs and one bagel with cream cheese and jam (never will eat bagels again without cream cheese and jam). Table service was bright and friendly. Obvious many regulars around. Our order taken quickly and served quickly too. Not that we felt rushed at all. The Clements Wheaton bread (more a loaf) was the winner. Really nutty and nice. Excellent coffee would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Visited Clements Coffee House whilst on a short visit to Belfast. I do believe having walked around the city there are several Clements located in various streets. The Coffee and in particular the fruit scones were light and lovely. The shops are very reasonably priced and it makes a change to have a coffee away from one of the more famous high street brands - would certainly recommend to any visitor to Belfast.

If you want a quick snack and coffee then Clements is a good place to try. I came here a number of times during September and regardless of whether I chose tea or coffee it was good quality. The sausage rolls were also pleasing. At times the staff could be a little slow to pay attention but for the most part they were good and managed to get my orders out in reasonable time. My family have been coming to the various Clements places around Belfast for a number of years now. The menu seems not to change very much but customers come here knowing what they want and at lunch time the place is always well patronised. But whatever, the coffee is always great.
