I honestly cannot rate the staff at The Clayton highly enough. They have been unbelievably exceptional. Danielle has taken care of our every whim without question and gone above and beyond to take care of us. Martina has been a dream, utterly excellent and she has taken superb care of me. Truly appreciate her being her amazing self. I’m away from home for 10 weeks and she has made my stay so comfortable. Luke has also been epic, as have the reception staff and catering team. Thank you everyone for everything. The Clayton is brilliant and the staff make it a cut above the rest. They also offer great vegan options, which makes my life a lot easier.

Overall I am extremely happy with my stay and the service level offered. This could have been very different do to a problem that wasnt 100% in the control of the hotel, but the professional and rapid way in which it was dealt with was an excellent example of Customer Service. I must call out Justin on reception for his contribution to this experience.

The Clayton Hotel Leeds is an establishment I would happily wish upon my worst enemy. The rooms are quite outdated, with large red stains on the carpet and minimal re-servicing. The key cards constantly deactivate and the front desk is extremely unhelpful. But the worst is yet to come. Every single night I returned to this hotel the car park was completely full, requiring me to park on single yellow lines streets away and wake up early in the morning to move my car, hoping for a parking space within the hotel. The hotel had no desire to rectify this, even though my company had paid for the parking. Worst yet, I woke up two mornings in a row to construction drilling just outside the hotel, starting at 8am and finishing at 12pm. We were promised this would only be for a night, and to apologise the hotel provided a lousy mini packet of Haribo and a drinks voucher. Not only did this drilling continue another morning, but it didn't finish until well past 12pm. This hotel does not deserve more than 2 or 2.5 stars!

The Clayton Hotel Leeds offers a comfortable and modern stay just a short walk from Leeds city center. The rooms are clean, well-maintained, and equipped with all necessary amenities, including free Wi-Fi and comfortable beds. The hotel’s contemporary design and friendly staff make for a welcoming atmosphere. They provides a good variety of options, catering to different dietary preferences, though some guests may find it a bit repetitive after a few days. The hotel’s location is convenient for both business and leisure travelers, with easy access to the city’s main attractions and transport links. The on-site restaurant serves a decent range of dishes, although some guests have noted that the menu could offer more variety. Parking is available, but it is limited and can be a bit pricey, which is something to consider if you’re driving. Overall, the Clayton Hotel Leeds provides good value for money, with its central location, comfortable rooms, and attentive service making it a solid choice for a stay in Leeds. However, minor improvements could elevate the experience even further. There is no room service for breakfast , They hotel should have break fast served in the room too so people that would not want to come downstairs will have their breakfast in the room There is no swimming pool anyways.

I would not say that this hotel is 4 stars, the rooms are very basic for the price and they need updating. The rooms need A/C also, it was so hot the room and the windows barely open. I didn't like the computer check-in and out system it all felt very impersonal, you can almost stay with the need to speak to any person - which isn't something I don't enjoy. The hotel reception is clean and has some nice decor, which correlates to their 4 star. It is sadly the basic and run down rooms that let this hotel down, I would expect the standard of the room to be around 80-100, I have stayed in nicer premier inns. Overall, it was centrally located and met most of our needs but for the price tag (140-160) I would expect more.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. We booked a twin room and stayed in Leeds for one night. The room was very spacious and tidy, with one single bed and one double bed, both featuring very comfortable mattresses. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend this hotel.

I haven't even finish my stay here and Phoenix was amazing! So approachable and lovely to chat to. 😁 Only downside I would have would be a lack of a fridge in the rooms to store water. I came down to ask for a glass of ice water and despite the amazing Phoenix assisting this was the only let down. Alot of people coming in at the this time of night from dinners and drinks and wanted to bring a glass of water to bed and were expected to pay. Location 10/10: only 10 minutes film city centre and train station Room. 5/10: bed 10/10 memory seeker mstress on both beds. Decent size TV but dirtyold remote: cleanliness 10/10. Very 1960s deco but clean. Live the pillow. By heavy and just right for me . Fantastic sleep. That's very important. Yes room is hot and had to use the fan but but not very powerful for spring hot. I cannot imagine how it will be in summer! Need AC despite both windows fully open! Bin is so small with flimsy plastic bag result just comes if if you place anything as a empty small milk container 5ml!! Menu shows most items£20 e.ga burger or fish and chips. Bathroom: 3/10 shower very noisy, okish pressure, dynamic intermittent variability of the hotness going to cold free seconds then hot. Towel only one large. Toilet not flush properly. Had to scrummage around room to find 2 hand towel and extra large towel on the doorless wardrobe! Used were not even replaced next day! Crazy Need to open door as no ventilation when having shower. One thing i like the whole mirror albeit central square shaped was steamed up each day! Wow. That i liked and loved to have such a mirror at home. Plenty of nice non allergic hand soap, body wash and nice shampoo & conditioner. 3 glasses to gargle to. Breakfast. 7.5/10 Full English was super but i saw people with difficulty to open the large glass tops not realising need to lift it up fully to be hands free then! No continental breakfast variety available. Great large sitting area in very comfortable chairs and great table top eat from. Super fast waitresses with so sweet professional lady to greet you when you enter. Gym: mainly cardiovascular equipment. Dated end parts coming off. Only upkeep 10kg dumbells. A multigym machine is nice to use. 2 benchpress but no barbell to use them! Not easy to find. Right at the back post the large conference rooms. Reception staff 2/10: to register no proactive information if where and time range or aware what is available for breakfast nor in the gym( or tell me about it). Very lacklustre service. More nosey why I'm in Leeds. Later i come back down and 2 staff screwed their faces at me. No courtesy or professional, what bias/ prejudice! On leaving the lady didn't smile or acknowledge i left my card when i told clearly polirty I'm leaving my room card. Very disappointed in this experience. Overall i had better overall service in a b&b or cheap hotel ( single room but had 2 beds strangely, was £105 a night in April 2024).

Fairly typical business hotel a short walk from Leeds Train Station. Haven't been for about a year but there have been some changes. The bar is being renovated which should be an improvement but the real backwards step is the check-in machines. You are now bombarded with emails demanding that you check in online "before it's too late". Then when you get to the Hotel the front desk won't check you in because "you checked in online" and you are directed to a machine instead. The machines then don't work so you are taken back to the front desk and checked in anyway. No more online check-ins for me or, of if it is "too late", I'll be simply staying somewhere else.

To whom it may concern, I stayed at the hotel last night and my stay was made extra special by the customer service at reception. Charis on the reception was very welcoming and friendly. Really helpful with good humour and practical advice to make our stay easier. When we left the hotel she was on reception again at checkout and she commented on the conversation we had the day prior. I was amazed that she could remember us amongst the myriad of people that she must deal with daily. I told her that I thought this was great customer service but I wanted to formalise it by sending this message. I hope her manager gets to read this and sticks it in her dossier for her annual review. She is a credit to the hotel and should be rewarded. Anyway thanks for the great stay. Overall a good hotel with friendly staff, spacious, clean and comfortable room. I had booked the most expensive Executive Super King room as a treat for my wife. This was advertised as having a power shower in the bath. There was no power in the shower at all and was very basic and I invite you to try it out for yourself to verify that. We decided to have in-room dining on the first night. I had checked out the menu at the time of booking and it had beer battered fish and chips. I actually sent an email to the hotel several days in advance to ask if they could do the fish for us in non-alcoholic batter. The hotel responded to say they could do so. I made this specific request at the time of ordering the meal. However little did I know that the chef lacked experience in this as he probably was used to applying ready made beer batter to the fish as do some other hotels and didn't know how to make non-alcoholic batter. The meal was a disaster. There was no taste in the cod, coating was soft and soggy and tartar sauce tasted totally foreign. It was an extremely costly and disappointing experience and spoilt our stay and mood. As stated in many of the previous reviews I agree that parking is very expensive at £12 charged per overnight stay and not per 24 hours stay. So despite not having stayed for full 2 days i was charged £24. This is clearly a money making scheme at the expense of guests who choose to stay at the hotel.
