Tried the masala fish very nice no batter which i prefer the chips were a mixture of battered and plain the portions are on the big side.

Probably the worse chip shop around this area! Had mini fish and chips and most of the chips was black inside like they was bad potatoes...fish was ok but batter swimming in soggy grease...won't be going back.

Mini fish and chips £6.40 on the window, but tried to charge 8.40 The reason given was when asked, do you want it in a tray or wrapped, i said wrapped. The 6.40 was for tray only. I left, went to lydon fishbar and got mini fish and chips wrapped for £6.40 You ripped me off before and i raised hiit with you. You did it a second time and now you have lost a customer. Treat customers better

Okay the chips tasted old and re heated didn't taste fresh at all so binned them sadly , the masala fish was a 10 out of 10 but chips let it down badly

Disgusting food. Found hairs on my pizza, all the food was undercooked and when re ordered it came even worse. Place needs to be shut down.

Absolutely disgusting re fried chicken from the day before and to top it off has a 3 inch hair in the batter place wants closing down

We only go here once in a while as its more expensive than any other takeaway option it's mental how much a chippy costs these days

Just got Chips sorry Chips cold tast of old oil don't know if they were from last night .

Ordered a bag of chips, received an almost cold bag of horrid chips that had clearly been there all day. The whole bag was made of the black bits of potatoes and were completely dry. If I could leave no stars I would. I'd rather travel a little further for some decent food.

Found hair in my food owner tried to claim I put it there!!😂😂 then when mentioned I’ll be called food hygiene all of a sudden he was willing to give me a refund. Food hygiene is definitely getting a call

Large cod, mushie peas and large chips between two - ample portion, we had lotsss of leftovers. Add in some battered mushrooms and you've got yourself a real treat! Large cod was a little on the small size for large imo, however, it ended up being plenty so really can't complain! Cooked well and all very tasty. Would recommend.

Horrible food! I ordered masala fish and chips and 2 piece chicken and chips. 15 quid was shocking prices. Chips oily and smelt horrid. Fish was half decent but too salty and barely tasted of masala. Absolutely horrid.

Pretty usual fish and chip shop with the usual selection of food and pizza's. Generally timely service and average prices for the area.

Food has been terrible my last 3 visits. Won't be returning. Cold, soggy fish, cold and undercooked chips. Used to be good years ago no idea what has happened. Overcharged at the till and not given items that come as part of the meal. Dodgy

Nice fish & chips. The curry sauce was really good. Opted for the standard chips and not battered, I will try them next time. The fish was a decent size for it being a small. Tasty fish, crispy ends and soft throughout the middle. Decently priced. Will definitely be back.

Very disappointed. Over charged me from the menus displayed. My meat was cold. The man serving was rude. Recently moved to the area and tried this for the first time. Won’t be returning. Have reported this.

I wouldn’t be the one to rate and put reviews on orders, considering this is my go too and have recommend this chip shop in the past, I can honestly say I won’t be returning again. Very rude staff, mimicking in their own language and laughing making myself and other feel targeted. The food was cold, laughing whilst serving the food? Randomly over charges you. Never again….disgusting.

Won't be getting my service again. Ordered a fish and chips from here and it was disgusting. The batter on the fish was falling apart and the chips were cold. Also, the prices are outrageous - there are many cheaper options nearby which serve better food.

Food usually always cold. Kebabs are usually precut and the microwaved. Looks clean, add hot food and I’d probably rate 3 stars.

Dirty place, everything reheated, coughing into his hand then picking up food with the same hand disgusting, never felt so sick in my life

I love this place, food is really good. And open Sunday which is really rare. Hard to find a chippy open on the sabbath so thank you!

food is nice but I've noticed they keep messing my order up due lack of communication problem and for this they over charge me on a few occasions, last time i had to explain my order to him

Slightly gutted that had best mixed meat kebab EVER 2 weeks ago, and today had a salad burger with cold kebab meat. And minimal kebab meat too. Even the bun was cold. Normally that was warned in microwave. Oh well.

New owners have ruined this place, prices have gone up massively since before, portion sizes have reduced and quality of food has decreased aswell...

Massively gone down hill Since the recent takeover. Most of the food is way to greasy and really not acceptable. The chips are also not fresh and are rock hard.

One of the best cod fish and battered chips I've ever had. The price was very reasonable and the portions were large (I have leftovers enough for two more meals). The place has just been renovated and I heard it's under new management.

I usually go to Lyndon Road chippy but I made the mistake of going to Clay Lane chip shop this evening. Absolutely vile! Everything tastes of soap! I’d like to think that’s a good thing and indicates cleanliness but alas I fear not. Food was inedible. Chips were anaemic and curry sauce like water! I won’t be going there again.

Excellent fisherie! The battered chips are amazing. Very good portions. The fish tastes very nice! Have been a few times now and the customer service is exceptional each time. Highly recommended! Family run business keen to impress customers!

Food here is great, service is amazing, staff here are very friendly and always make you feel welcomed, if there is a wait on food they keep you up with how long your wait is. The food is fairly cheap there are more expensive ones in the area and for this price and how good the food is I’m not complaining. Hope this helps anyone that wants to find a good local chip shop.

The lady was late to open so we had to wait in the car,plus it's ladies only salon which didn't say on groupon. Very disappointing experience.

First order tonight for ages. Cod did not have the taste or texture of cod. Batter was thick and gooey on the inside. Chips, some were black on the inside and cut narrow. Others hard. Not a pleasant meal.

This is my local chip shop and i stopped going there as the food went downhill however they have recently got new owners and i am impressed with the quality of food. Definitely recoomend

Chicken must have cooked been from the previous week maybe month - dry as a bone.......cooked, and reheated : lots of chips but soggy and mushy. Its not an isolated incident. We're just round the corner, this our local chippy and its awful.

On a recent visit to this fish bar I ordered two portions of cod & chips just before the fish was added to the order I noticed that one piece had a hair on it. I brought this to the attention of the person serving me and in turn he told the manager/owner and he did nothing. I again pointed it out saying it was not fit to eat then the owner leaned forward and removed the hair from the fish without saying a word and promptly left the fish for the next customer. This was not only unhygienic but a disgusting thing to do if the management is happy to do this in front of a customer what will his standards be behind the scenes. Clearly they have lost my custom and that of four other families in the Clay Lane area.
