Absolutely one of the nicest places to eat Italian food I've had in years the staff is so friendly and highly recommended!

The owner needs to adjust how she rejects her customers when she is unable to seat them for dinner. Dismissive and rude, shame as it would have been nice to try the food. Perhaps she was having an off day but we won’t be trying again. There is a way of saying no we can’t seat you and a “NAT” isn’t it!! You can secure the customer for the next visit with a sympathetic rejection.

A fantastic dining experience. We met up here and were met with a friendly greeting - the staff were very polite and friendly. An extensive menu choice, all of which is great value. The restaurant filled quickly and was very clean and tidy - the food was well presented and did not fail - all meals were delicious. We'd definitely return here, you can't go wrong.

Some of the best Italian style food we have eaten in a long time. All was cooked beautifully with lots of flavour. Portion sizes spot on and a good selection on the menu. Between the 5 of us we had for mains a Rabbie Burns Pizza, Lasagne, Ravioli, spaghetti marinara and Venison steak. We drank a bottle of the Organic red wine (Bin 7) and a couple of beers (peroni bottled). Fabulous service from knowledgeable, friendly staff. The only thing that didn’t score full marks for us was the Apple Crumble. Couldn’t recommend this place more.

Enjoyed a birthday meal with the family. Service was great and quite reasonably priced. Always book for here as super busy. Restaurant was tastefully Christmas decorated. Haven't been for a good few years but won't leave it as long the next time!

Really lovely meal, top quality food, friendly staff/owner. My 14 year old and I had Scallops, butternut squash sauce and courgette fritters to start - amazing! Hubby had caponata - great. Son had steak for main - really tasty and they made him a plainer peppercorn sauce on the side. I had a pizza which was huge and delicious. Hubby had pasta which he polished off. Desserts were Crolla ice creams/sorbet. Highly recommend this gem and will definitely return when we’re back in the area again.

A gem of a place just off the main street. Lovely atmosphere and friendly folks that welcome you from the door to the table. The service was very efficient, a little banter here and there and we were well looked after. Definitely a restaurant worthy of a second and third visit, or a few more.

Excellent freshly prepared food with good sized portions. Friendly staff who did a wonderful job even though restaurant was busy. Nice cosy relaxed atmosphere. Well worth a visit and we will definitely go back. Highly recommend if you’re in Moffat to visit Claudios.

We have been to this restaurant many times. It is a really friendly and welcoming place and all the staff are so helpful. When we discussed where to go to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary there was no discussion, we both wanted to go to Claudios. They were brilliant with a decorated table and a bottle of fizz cooled ready for us, The food is perfectly cooked and the service is 100%.

Loved this restaurant great variety with daily specials. Food was well presented. It wasn't as expensive as we expected. Well worth a visit and I would love to return here and would definitely recommend.

Have eaten here on a number of occasions over the years when in Moffat and were fortunate this time to be able to visit twice. Davide is excellent as front of house with great rapport, Claudia’s food is superb, and all the staff do a good job. On our first visit we had Davide’s recommendations of the specials cod and hake fish cakes then fillet of pork filled with haggis both with wonderful sauces. Next time we chose starters of pasta marinara and mackerel pate wrapped in smoked salmon for mains we both had the special wild boar stew. I even managed the lemon tiramisu for dessert. A perfect end to our holiday

Very good meal here for my birthday. Food was fantastic and owner - who took order - very knowledgeable on each course. Enjoyed the sharing platter as starter and then the chicken dish which was very tender and tasty, with sticky toffee pudding to finish it all off.

We were staying at the campsite, so had no idea where to choose to eat. I need to eat Gluten Free and ordered a small carbonara for starters and gluten free pizza for main. My husband had a soup and chicken dish. The food was amazing and very reasonable. The service was superb, we are back in March next year so will be booking here again :)

We first came to Claudios in 2017 and have been meaning to come back evert since but the stars did not align. Finally made it back and it's as good as ever. The staff are very welcoming, accommodating and friendly and the food is great! Between us we had pizza, gnocchi, sticky toffee pudding and an enormous piece of Tiramisu which was delicious. Will definitely go again and would strongly recommend!

Are here as a family on the happy hour menu. Our food was very tasty, wine delicious, staff helpful and it’s a well presented restaurant. Would return.

I have visited this restaurant on previous occasions and, once again, I enjoyed good food, good wine and good service. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone whether they are on business or visiting the area. However, ensure that you book as they are very popular 😉

Our Saturday night dinner here was the highlight of our overnight stay in Moffatt. It was very busy, but they squeezed us it at short notice. Highly recommend the salmon pasta. It's fun to see the old police cells when you pop to the loo! Generous portions and great service too.

We were staying on the caravan site just a few yards away & found this restaurant by accident. We tried to ring & book a table but they were having telephone problems so we took a chance & called. We were lucky as they had just one table left. We took advantage of the early bird menu which is 2 courses for £16.50. I chose a starter and main, while my partner settled for main & dessert. I picked garlic mushrooms which were probably the best I have ever had and came as a good sized portion in a tomato sauce. My main was spaghetti bolognese which was just as good. It came as a decent size helping with plenty of meat. My partner chose lemon pasta & again it came in a good size helping & she said it was delicious. For dessert she went for pistachio posset-type mousse (from the specials board - can’t remember it’s name). She loved it! Three bottles of Moretti, one bottle of Italian cider & a glass of house white and the bill was about £60.

Another lovely night, we were there with friends and they loved it as well, atmosphere food and staff all make you feel special. Thanks to all.

Second visit and definitely worth it. Food was delicious; service friendly and attentive. Can recommend the calzone and smoked salmon pasta. Liked that I could have a starter portion for my main course, which meant I could enjoy some of their delicious garlic bread. Tiramisu was stunning and I’m told the sticky toffee pudding was also very good. Really reasonably priced too. Worth booking as it was a busy Saturday evening and we had the last table.

First positive impression subsided quickly. Service was faux-polite. Food was bang average. My Salmon pasta had bits of pasta stuck together in clumps and the salmon had long since lost any relationship to a fish. The source was watery and tasted mainly of salt. My partner faired even worse. Pizzas are difficult to mess up but this restaurant managed the task well. A flabby, soggy undercooked mess was what she mainly had to leave. The house wine was particularly bad. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant.

We ate at Claudio's on Saturday night for my husband's birthday & all I can say is WOW! The food (the Haggis Arancini in particular was amazing), the atmosphere & the service was second to none. You are always made to feel welcome & treated like friends. We frequent the restaurant quite a bit, but I never leave a review but everything about Saturday night was outstanding & I had to give praise, where praise is due. Will definitely be back soon to try more of the new menu.

It was a good meal but not excellent food. The lasagne portion was quite scant, the pizza was tasty and the starters were average. We do wish that they wouldn’t always ask the embarrassing question related to leaving a tip, via the credit card transaction....

Went to this restauarnt after reading the reviews as we were only in Moffat for two nights. The first night they were fully booked which is always a good sign but they squeezed us in for the Saturday night. This was one of the best Italian meals I've had in the UK, just superb. I went for the steak, again having read the reviews, and also being very hungry. I like mine medium rare and it's not often I get it like that, but this was spot on. My friend had sole which looked excellent. Staff were great, wine excellent and chairs made out of heavy wood I could hadly move mine. It's a funny old building, the old jail I believe but forget all that: the main event the food is done very well indeed. If I lived in the area I would be a regular customer. 5 stars

A lovely little restaurant just a few minutes walk from the village centre, lovely staff and great food, good service at a reasonable price, a hidden gem in the village.

We had the most beautiful meal last night, the service was brilliant. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. The food was superb, we had the fillet steak with sauce. All in all a very pleasant evening for my wife's birthday. Top notch.

Superb restaurant. The waiting staff were so attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, their recommendations were spot on. The food was utterly delicious and there was a very good wine list. The decor is lovely, with gorgeous tables and chairs, it was a lovely atmosphere where you can just relax and enjoy your evening without feeling rushed. We came here for the last meal of our holiday and it certainly ended it on a high. I wish we lived closer so we could visit more often, but we'll certainly be back when in the area.
