Service was great, super curries. Only criticism was that the food was a little salty for my palette but was told that was common for the local taste.

Paid £20 for a curry (pick up), it was stone cold as was chapati & rice. Defo won’t be back

Yet another great meal from Classic India

Delicious hot food, people are very friendly and helpful! They still served me although the kitchen was technically already closed! In the end we had a very nice little chat and the owner even offered me to camp on his parking place, so nice and welcoming!! I fully recommend this restaurant:))

Nuestro lugar mensual de curry fue el "Classic India" Milngavie. El restaurante es acogedor, pero tiene una decoración muy sencilla abajo, nunca llegamos a ver el entresuelo. El personal es muy amable y servicial. La comida estaba un poco decepcionada. La tikka de pollo estaba ligeramente dura y la salsa bhoona muy movida. Nos sorprendió gratamente la factura total, ya que hay un descuento del 20% en la red eléctrica en martes y miércoles. Los puntos que le íbamos a dar eran un 6 a 7 y un 7. Después de recibir la factura y hablar con el gerente siempre tan amable decidimos un 7 a 8 y un 8. Así que en general es un 7. 75 de 10 . Hasta la vista. Volveremos.

Tuvimos una entrega a domicilio desde este lugar. Es la peor comida india que he comido en mi vida. El Pollo Rogan Josh se cocinó como Korma, el chapati se hizo de harina vieja rancia. Me puse en contacto con el restaurante y ni siquiera respondieron. Un montón de otros buenos restaurantes indios en esta zona.

Just moved to the area, thought I’d order a meal deal before a spend a fortune on food a don’t like. The naan bread was cold and the restaurant is only 5 min away, had to get delivery as I had 8 week old puppy n couldn’t go. The food was ok, the curry tasted like it was a packet or jar of sauce with chicken tikka added. The pakora came with a spicy sauce not the mild one I like and no lemon slice to squeeze over pakora. I won’t order from here again

Can’t go wrong with Classic India. I had the meal deal and everything was spot on. Poppadoms, mixed pakora and a Rogan Josh with rice. Great deal and very tasty. Delivery was very quick and the driver was friendly.

Arrived at the time stated. Onion bhajis very spicy. Not overly impressed with the flavours of the curries we ordered. Two were very bland. Naans a bit dry too. The food wasn’t bad and I know it’s reading that it was. But it also wasn’t good.

It was the only time (so far) that I visited this restaurant. The service was very helpful, prompt and quick. Our 5-member group chose different starters and main dishes, and all were excellent (so other foods on the menu are likely to be very good too). The layout is not my favourite (too much privacy), buying is personal. The quality of the dishes and the service gave an excellent dinner time experience.

I've ordered a few times - always get the South Indian Garlic Chilli Chicken Garlic Nan and rice, it always arrives really hot - and I don't mean just the temperature of the food, it's hot!!! Really good flavours in the SIGC, it will always be my go to!! It never takes too long to arrive, and it's one of their own drivers that are always friendly.

Delivery -great, food hit the spot

The second time I have tried a takeaway since new ownership and sadly most definitely the last . Ordered a korma and butter chicken and sides. Chicken pakora, was mediocre vegetable was nice. Chicken korma was quite nice but the butter chicken was the worst I have ever tasted in 35 years ! Pinkish sauce and super sweet it was actually inedible and got thrown out . Never again ! Shame as it’s my local .

Visisted on a Friday night, a few people in but it died off quickly. Staff were pleasant and efficient. Food was below average, best things were poppadoms and the lamb chop starter. Everything else just seemed over spiced or bland.

I'm nearly 60 years old and Indian Cuisine has been my favourite since I was growing up in the Midlands. I've had many favourite restaurants over the years, both takeaway and dine in. I have now tested this place about six times and it's without doubt one of the best I've ever experienced! I think the mark of a truly great food establishment is not to try your favourite dish and compare it to others, but to try as much of the menu as possible. I've tried different dishes every time, and I've never had a single dish that is less than stunning! Also, a great 20% off discount when dining in on certain days. A fantastic, benchmark Indian Restaurant! Well done.

Really nice, just what I needed. I was by myself and had just finished the West Highlands Way and really fancied a curry to celebrate. Came here and, despite being a very popular spot, they were able to fit me in. The restaurant was very busy (always a good sign) and despite this the service was exceptionally good - food was at my table in a timely fashion and, most importantly, the staff all were all very friendly and welcoming. I had a really good feed here, eyes bigger than belly I'm afraid though. Would absolutely come back here and would totally recommend the place to anyone passing through or living in Milngavie.

Beautiful food great customer service

The south indian garlic chillie is FAB!!! Its always my go to. Staff are friendly and attentive. Nann bread is always huge and fresh, as is the rice. Whenever I want an indian meal locally, I know where to go.

I was a regular takeaway customer however on this occasion it was a poor amount of lamb in a weak Bhuna curry sauce, by coincidence relatives of mine ordered a takeaway family meal and had the same experience . I am wondering if it is a new chef or owners but I will go elsewhere very disappointing.

People who knows me knows I'm a observer. Went upstairs to this restaurant and lil kitchen door was opened so I peaked through and can't tell you all, that even the kitchen was so neat and cleaned . It looked so very much hygienic like home kitchen and that's the reason the food was so fresh from a fresh kitchen. Fantastic restaurant and a lovely lovely staff. Service was very quick and we had a wonderful meal in a peaceful soothing atmosphere. Loved all the decor too. Thanks for the beautiful service. Highly highly recommend CLASSIC INDIA for pure authentic Indian food.

Sad to say but it was one of the worst curry dishes i have had. Ordered the south indian (chicken) garlic chilli, as this was recommended as one of their hot dishes. I ask if i could have it extra hot, which they said was no problem. The aroma coming from the bag once i left the premises, was amazing, but when i took the lid off the chicken carton, i was greeted by a dish that could only be described as Coloured water. It was that watery, i could not pour it onto my plate, so had to eat it from the carton. It was NOT hot, and as for making it extra hot for me, well all i got, was ONE chilli pepper!! This was one evening meal that was a waste of money, and it wasnt reasonably priced either.

Fast, friendly service with great presentation Some of the best Indian I've had in Glasgow, with generous servings and cheap prices to boot. Garlic naan was fluffy, flavourful, and perfectly done. Chicken Jalandhri was beautifully spiced, juicy, and filling. Absolutely recommend. You'll have to excuse the mid-meal picture. I couldn't stop myself once they put the food in front of me.

Just ate out meal for 2 from the classic india in Milngavie. In general the food was very flavoursome and tasted good. It was hot and promptly delivered by a smiling driver. Im just offering a little constructive criticism as I'm in the food industry and have worked with Indian chefs for several years. The sauces tasted great but were a little watery. The chicken was not pan fried, it had been pre cooked and diced and re heated in the sauce. Thats a little dissapointing as it says all the chicken dishes are like that. Its misleading. The nan bread was slightly undercooked The poppadoms were soft/not fresh. It was a bit of a shame because your sauces(korma amd South Indian garlic and chilli were very tasty, and the total including delivery was nearly £30. For £30 im expecting something withought faults. I read somewhere you recently won curry awards, I wish you were just a little more consistent.

The food was lovely, the only downside was the fact that the waitress needs to shower more often.....the smell of sweet was terrible... But in terms of food it was very good.

A one hour wait is beyond a joke. Table next to us ordered 15 minutes after us and got there food first ?????!!!! Another table came in again after us and got there food before too. - clearly don’t do orders in the order they come in clearly give preferential treatment to regulars. I won’t recommend coming here. Writing this review still waiting for main debating popping round the corner for fish and chips I know it was Saturday night but really disappointed

Though carrying a slightly heftier price tag, it is however an establishment of high food and staff quality Unlikely to disappoint. Portions are big, food is cooked to perfection. I truly can't mark down the quality at all.

Wow wow wow! We are extremely pleasantly surprised, because this restaurant is a bit hidden from a passerby's view. The food was the most authentic Indian food we have tried in Glasgow. Prices are suberb, extremely good quality. Every dish has different spices and nothing is mild. Staff is very kind and great mannered. Overall it was great and definitely we will come back many times!

My wife and I have eaten in numerous curry houses across the UK and the globe so feel we're able to benchmark appropriately. We booked here based on the positive reviews but unfortunately we found the food to be very average tasting. The starter (onion bhajis) were far too salty and the main course (lamb curry) just lacked flavour. The rice (pilau) was particular bland and tasted like something purchased from a supermarket. The food wasn't terrible but just not up to a standard of most other Indian restaurants we've dined at. The venue was very nice but overall very disappointed.

We have eaten here on several occasions and had lovely meals with great service and have also had lovely meals delivered but tonight unexpectedly we were disappointed. Firstly one dish was not delivered which was fine, they brought it later, but sadly the quality as a whole was not to their usual standard- the onion bajis were over salted, the spicy onions were really bitter (presumably given as an apology with poppadoms) and the garlic naan tasted really odd and couldnt be eaten. The pakora, rice and chicken dishes were delicious and up to usual standard. Don't know what went wrong tonight guys but might be a long time before we order again. Sorry.

Curry a bit watery, and lacked salt and depth and heat. Veg Pakora Lovely, if it wasn't for pakora my lamb curry would be a two star. Sorry

Extremely welcoming on arrival, table for the baby with us rather than having to ask for a highchair, the food was excellent and the staff were great. One of us also has allergies and they couldn't have more accommodating. This was our first visit and were pleasantly surprised that there was 20% off on a Wednesday. Will definitely return.

We had a great dinner. If you are going to hike the West Highland Way this is a perfect place to eat before you are saying goodbye to non-Scottish food.

Family of five visited Classic India last night. Service was polite and quick. The starters were impressive and set us up nicely for lovely mains. Prices are fair and competitive, including drinks.We'll be back.

Had my all time favourite, South Indian Garlic Chilli Chicken, it was best I’ve had in over a decade…….. 5 ✨ isn’t enough! We were particularly impressed that the menu has little icons explaining if the item contained any allergic/intolerance ingredients….. well done Folks!

Always a delicious curry and always as requested e.g. "not too hot" or "thin and crisp naan" The new owner has made the restaurant as comfortable and atmosphere as possible, given the quaint structure of the building.. Don't let other reviews put you off, go and treat yourself to an excellent meal.

I realised I had been overcharged by about £8. Very bad attitude from staff when I pointed it out. Eventually got my refund with no apology and bad feeling. The food was disappointing. The Lamb Rogan Josh was swimming in sauce and very small pieces of lamb.
