We asked for a delivery 7pm Saturday night, and that's exactly what we got. The food was all piping hot. My very adequate steak pie was accompanied by 3 scoops of mashed potato, broccoli, peas, carrots & parsnips and best of all real gravy, said my gravy expert wife. I've totally forgotten what she had but she was very satisfied with it. We both chose raspberry pavlova - loads of it. All at a very reasonable price.

We were looking for somewhere to have lunch whilst travelling along the A17 and picked this establishment at random from Google - and we were extremely pleased with our choice! I had the belly pork served with delicious vegetables followed by apple crumble with vanilla custard. Both dishes had excellent quality ingredients and were well cooked and presented. All washed down with an excellent pint of IPA. If it was closer to us, we would become regulars!!

Due to an illness and bei no registered disabled I politely asked to use their toilet facilities. A blonde elderly lady gave me permission and understood. Whilst on the toilet a dark haired female goes by the name of Sofia on her badge kept trying the door which was thankfully locked and shouting at me, I’m sick of people like you using the toilets. I explained I had an illness all whilst sitting on the toilet and she began shouting at me. I exited the toilet and attempted to to take her picture which I have of her holding her hand up and pushing my phone at me, stating she was calling the police. I don’t know why, I was then approached by a man of whom I have no idea what position he was who threatened me. The blonde elderly lady seemed very dismayed and I am totally shocked by this behaviour. I really go hope they never find themselves in my position today where I couldn’t walk to another facility due to my disability and illness. Most disgusting I have ever been treated by young individuals with a clear disregard for empathy and respect. I will be taking this up with their head office as soon as they are open

Nothing wrong with the place but asking for a tap water you suddenly get charged £2.50 for a bottle. Try to query and there’s nothing to be done. Turns out there’s not responsible people in this pub that I’ve visited for years…

Very Disappointing Stay – Not What You Expect from a Hotel & Spa I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but I feel it’s only fair to share our experience to help others make an informed decision. From the moment we checked in, we were met with a strong smell of urine and general dirtiness in the room and unable to open window as was strong smell of fertilizer. The chairs were badly stained, and the carpet was in such poor condition, walls and doors that the hallway outside actually smelled better. The TV remote didn’t work either. While waiting at reception to ask for a room change, I overheard another guest being told there was no bed in his room upon check-in, which was honestly quite shocking. We were eventually given a second room, but even that had no hand soap, no robe, and no slippers — basic items you’d expect, especially from a hotel that calls itself a spa. To make things worse, we were unable to cancel the booking with few days before (made via Booking.com), which already raised red flags. I believe if a place doesn’t allow cancellation, there should at least be a minimum standard of quality guaranteed. The restaurant menu was extremely limited — just six main dishes, and two of them were out of stock. We asked about bringing our own wine and were surprised to learn there was a £15 corkage fee. The most expensive bottle they offered was only £25, so we decided to just order a glass each — which unfortunately tasted very cheap and diluted. Also creme brulee was cold and on top of it, there was a sour jam. The breakfast was also very poor, with minimal variety and low-quality options. Overall, this was not the relaxing getaway we hoped for. I expected far more from a hotel and spa, and sadly, I left feeling disappointed and frustrated. I will not give ANY star for this location!!!! JUST TRIED TO LEAVE A REVIEW ON BOOKING.COM WITH my booking number and their pin and is not ALLOWING me!!!!
