Great atmosphere and service. The breakfast was excellent.

Food was lovely but tiny portions very poor value for money restaurant has no atmosphere at all wouldn’t recommend unless on a voucher deal

We ate here as part of an overnight stay package with Brandon Hall hotel and were extremely happy with both our dinner and breakfast. There was a good selection of starters, mains and desserts and all were faultless in terms of presentation, flavour and value for money. Breakfast was superb with a good selection of cereals, pastries and a very well appointed hot buffet of eggs, sausages, bacon etc... I would definitely recommend eating at the restaurant if you are staying at the hotel or happen to be in the area.

Food was great, 3 courses included with our package…good choices, very tasty. I had baked salmon for my main was delicious

The food at the Clarendon Restaurant was incredible. After a slight issue at the start we were catered for with great care and attention. My partner and I both had the Aberdeen Angus sirloin steak. I honestly cannot remember eating a better steak! It was cooked perfectly to our asking. And then breakfast the morning after didn’t fail to impress either. 11/10 in our eyes. Thank you to the staff and back room team.

The restaurant is functional in style & had little soul or atmosphere, but credit where due, our meals were tasty, hot & well presented. Nil points for having run out of Sauvignon Blanc & English mustard. But a very hearty 5 out of 5 for the warm & efficient service.

Visitamos aquí durante su estancia en el hotel, y para ser honestos, fue un poco decepcionante para mí. Mis colegas sugirió comer en el Pub cerca de Royal Oak, me hubiera gustado ahora. El menú no especialmente buena relación calidad-precio, y era difícil encontrar 2 campos por menos de 20 libras. 00, la mayoría de los tipos de restaurantes brassiere ofrecen un precio fijo de 2 platos. Así que empecé con sopa de verduras, Este se servía con 2 piezas de pan seco de color marrón, sin ninguna mantequilla, sopa estaba bien pan como se describe. Para principal tuve la ensalada Cesar con pollo, esta fue servida con Pan croutons, sólo trozos de pan de perritos! Uno nuevo en mí, me quejé y me enviaron algunas preparado, este es tan básica para un restaurante de 4 estrellas realmente impactado, simplemente la pereza en la cocina, probablemente para ocupados viendo Inglaterra perdiendo en iPads debida atención a lo que estaban sirviendo! La ensalada era tranquila sabroso. Márgenes bien! 2 cursos de 175 ml casa rose fue a menos de 25 libras. 00, como un viajero de negocios este para mí era mala relación calidad-precio. En el registro de entrada, me dieron un vale para una bebida, 175 ml vaso de vino de la casa, en el bar pedí una rosa, entonces me preguntó si podía pagar la diferencia para conseguir un cristal 250, deberían haber sido alrededor de £2. 00, me cobraron un fiver extra 75 ml este precio el Pinot en £50 una botella! Apenas un buen servicio al cliente! Para ser justos, que fue eliminado por la mañana cuando hicimos el check out, pero toda la cena con el fiasco vino fue decepcionante para un establecimiento de 4 estrellas. No cabe duda de que será el Royal Oak la próxima vez me quedo aquí.

Αποφασίσαμε να δειπνήσουμε στο ξενοδοχείο, αντί για την τοπική pub για να έχουμε πιο γρηγορη εξυπηρέτηση. Είχαμε ήδη κανει κράτηση. Παραγγείλαμε αμέσως...αλλά χρειάστηκε να περιμένουμε 45' και να ζητήσουμε να επιταχύνουν τις διαδικασίες...Μετά από αυτό, η όρεξη και το κέφι είχαν χαθεί...Τα παιδιά γρινιάζαν...εμείς είχαμε πια "χαλασθεί"....Το φαγητό ήταν μέτριο και τελικά πολύ ακριβό γι αυτό που πρόσφερε. Δεν θα το επιλάγαμε ξανά. Σπαταλήσαμε το βραδυνό μας και φύγαμε πεινασμένοι...

Hi I booked a table with my family for my 50th birthday. The food was amazing and the staff were very attentative, friendly. It was overall a great night. If you want something special which is a little bit more expensive and different, go here.

We had a very pleasant meal in this restaurant. Food was excellent, good value and the waiter was very attentive throughout. Unrushed, comfortable surroundings makes for a very relaxing evening. Thoroughly recommend.

Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice.Waiting staff friendly and helpful. Good size portions of meat but few vegetables. Staff happy to cater for "picky eaters" Guinea fowl, chicken and pork dishes good, but ceaser salad uninspired

the bread and olives are really nice. the goats cheese tart was ok but heavily laden with onions. the duck risotto was really nice but a big portion and i was so full i couldn't eat even half. dessert menu is a bit weird. not a normal dessert on the whole menu. very odd combinations. cocktail menu is new, expensive and extremely limited.

Very good food. We went for the Fish and Chips which was great. Starter and dessert also very good and well presented. And to top it all, the house Red was a very drinkable Merlot, better than most house reds we have experienced. Ambience could be better, its very brightly lit so you cannot escape the fact you are in a hotel restaurant but pleasant all the same and service was excellent.

While staying at Brandon Hall went for dinner and I had the Fish and Chips which was amazing. My wife had the Caesar Salad

Was looking forward to a good steak .. Good choice on the menu. I like my steak rare and of course it arrived medium, I was tired and Hungry so I finished it... The cost was quite expensive. Given the choice again I would use the local pub...

Supposed to be gourmet burger, tasted more like a frozen Iceland burger but that was a delight compared to the attitude of the staff. The whole hotel is a complete farce and should really consider closing it's door to prevent anymore misery to those who stay there,

Excellent canapes enjoyed before a delicious 3 course lunch. Dietary requirements were catered for without problem.

We were a little reluctant to eat in house as stated previous night at Mercure daventry which was awful but we were tired and just needed food ! However, food was absolutely delicious. Looked a bit pricey at £16.95 for fish and chips but was worth every penny and probably one of the nicest meals I've eaten in a while. Restaurant also offered to mix and match anything for my daughter as she is veggie. Next morning for breakfast we wanted a quick getaway and staff went out of their way to make us a packed lunch style take out which was really appreciated.

Mi marido y yo pasamos 2 noches muy agradables en el restaurante comiendo suntuosa comida en ambas noches sobre todo el cordero, que era tierna y muy jugoso acompañados por una botella de Prosecco, no puedo esperar para volver, que espero que sea muy pronto.

The restaurant is very average, to the point of being boring. The food I was served was bland, and there was no "wow" anywhere. I'm actually struggling to write a review as the food was so unmemorable. Very disappointing and definitely not worth the money. Unfortunately if you're a resident at this hotel there aren't any other options.

the food was delicious, we had a large group with some very bespoke requests and the restaurant were more than accomodating to all our needs!we'll definitely be back

The restaurant is well decorated, with windows on both sides overlooking the gardens and outside furniture.

I ate dinner here with five colleagues whilst staying at the hotel for training. We didn't pre book but staff were able to accommodate six of us straight away as it was a Monday night. We had the choice of three menus and there were plenty of options, including a range of vegetarian options. Waiting staff were polite and helpful. Decor and atmosphere were nice. However, we ended up waiting nearly an hour for our food. Considering we only ordered pasta, burgers and curry, and the restaurant was not particularly busy, this wait was quite long and with no apparent reason. However, once we left the restaurant we found out there had been a conference room of 30 people being served whilst we were in the restaurant. It would have been helpful for the staff to have informed us of this so we at least expected a wait for the food and understood why.Once the food arrived, we had to send one of the burgers back as it had mayonnaise on which hadn't been mentioned on the menu and the diner was unable to eat mayonnaise. However, she was given a free drink as an apology. The food itself was average - definitely not worth the upmarket restaurant prices being charged, I've even better in pubs before. For example, the chunky chips were clearly frozen chips, quite possibly Aunt Bessie's, which is disappointing for a restaurant presenting itself the way it does.If I lived in the local area I wouldn't return, as I don't feel the standard of food matches the prices.

Excellent food waiting staff were prompt and we just relaxed an took our time. The restaurant was busy but then I.d dont mind waiting a couple of minutes for good service an food.

My girlfriend and I decided to have food at this restaurant as we were staying at the Mercure Hall Hotel. Not bad at all, I found the starters a bit small, but in general quite satisfied with our dinner!

The last time we ate here the food and service was dreadful.We wanted somewhere to host a 25th wedding anniversary for family members. There were 3 reviews on trip advisor all giving 5 stars so we decided to give it another try. The menu looked interesting. We went for Sunday lunch and ordered 3 courses with a drink and coffee at £23.95 each.The restaurant setting and decor is very pleasant. The food was very good. Each course the food was tasty and well presented but some of the starters were very small, which was disappointing. The meal was let down by the service which was slow and surly. There were only 2 tables of diners so there wasn't much atmosphere in the place.The restaurant is handy for my family so we may give it another go in the future but we won't rush back

I visited with friends recently. They are having their wedding there early next year, and we went along to help taste test some of the menu options.Boy there had a been a lot on the standard wedding package to choose from - I can't imagine anyone not finding dishes they would want to try and be happy to have served on their big day. The staff were really happy and friendly. The restaurant was very nice. The staff who help run the wedding events were very helpful. We were only there a short time before they started bringing us out the dishes we had asked to sample. They also brought out the red, white and rose wines that are in the standard wedding package to try. The dishes we tried were all very pleasant, but there are definitely some exceptional ones in there, I cannot recommend the beef in guinness main course and the lemon posset dessert highly enough. I think they are makiing the cut. The wines were all very palatable too, and very middle of the road in terms of not being too sweet or dry, so you are unlikely to offend anyones palate too much. I'm very much looking forward to attending a wedding there.
