Excellent pizza and cozy atmosphere makes you feel like a local!!

Saw this place on Instagram and the pizzas looked unreal and so I had to try it when I came to Edinburgh to catch a flight. It delivered. The pizza was fantastic, I had the wild mushroom one with normal buffalo moz and it was delicious. The venue was nicely laid out, with a range of booths and tables. They also have extra seating downstairs. The staff were fantastic too and very welcoming, Emilie was super helpful and even assisted my choice of pizza. Will deffo be back!

My husband was craving pizza and I wanted pasta, so we popped in here. Food was really good and hit the spot. Our server, Rue, was delightful and made it a great experience.

Cute little spot on the edge of Old Town - so not as crazy crowded as mid old town! Fun atmosphere, really friendly lovely staff and AMAZING pasta! 🤩🤩 if I lived here I’d definitely be back. Reasonably priced for a full dinner portion as well. 10/10 !!

Food was amazing, had the pepperoni pizza. Will go back for sure and service was amazing. Very friendly staff. Wife left her phone behind and one of the waitress’s ran after us in the pouring rain!

Plates served were not clean, and the service could have been better.

We had a really tasty dinner here, service was very attentive and our server was charming (I believe her name begun with M? Undercut in a V shape in her hair.) Pizza was really good & we got so carried away we actually missed a show. We'd return again happily, go easy on the cordial in the Hugo would be my only sticking point!

Service was good but unfortunately the food a big let down. Ordered the pork ragu and it had zero flavor. Tasted like pasta with plain tomato sauce, I added burrata which helped (because cheese makes everything better), but no way it's worth £17.50 (including burrata). My own ragu is better and I don't consider myself a good cook. Were seated in one of the downstairs room which was too hot. Won't go back.

This is the best pizza I’ve had in any part of Europe, it’s more American tasting which is my preference. Pizza was thin, cooked perfectly and had excellent pepperoni.

I love pizza and after a day of long travel this was an amazing place to be. The staff were amazing, super nice and accommodating. I will say the pizza dough is softer than I am accustomed to, but the flavors were so fresh and delicious. I even had trouble with having to book a new hotel room and even though it was nearing closing time they allowed me to hang about to use the wifi to make sure I found a place to stay. I would definitely return! Love the 90’s vibe! I got a mushroom type of pizza and added chicken with a Caesar salad. The salad was definitely bigger than I thought it would be.

Amazing restaurant just off the Royal Mile. We went in when it was very busy, but they still served us brilliantly, and the food still came very quickly even though the restaurant was full and the kitchen full of orders. Friendly, considerate and helpful waiting staff, and a great selection of meals on the menu. The pasta is particularly delicious - and they catered so well to our dietary requirements too. Would 100% recommend and will definitely be visiting again when we're up in Edinburgh in future. Kyle and the team do a great job and deserve all the praise.

Heather was great, welcoming and proactive about how the food was and offering solutions due to being sold out of Detroit slices. Pizza was nice, would have liked it to have cheese though. But nonetheless it was great highly recommend!

We unfortunately had a terrible experience here. We ordered the Chicago style deep dish pizza and were told to wait a few minutes after the pizza arrived for it to set; no worries so we did so and began to cut slices but then the pizza collapsed in on itself. We waited a good amount of time before cutting and as well as it not setting, it was cold, bland and watery. The sauce that had spilled outside the pizza began to separate on the plate and the base was soggy. This was comped and we ordered a Margherita pizza which was also unimpressive. The drinks were alright but perhaps expensive for what they were. After the meal we both began to feel unwell and were both sick that night and the following days (which happened to be our wedding!). I can't recommend this place and will not return.

Truly an excellent establishment! Your tiramisu, mamamia 😍 I highly recommend it. A real taste gem, and what's more, the place is dogfriendly with an excellent music playlist. (Only small downside: the hygiene of the toilets 🥲 without that it was a 5/5)

The food is delicious. You would prefer to have a Margherita and spinach pizza with chicken and delicious red pasta. The staff are excellent. Amazing food and staff also nice atmosphere

Service here was amazing! The gal working was very kind and attentive to us:) We got a whole pizza which was great, however we didn’t realize you can’t order by the slice at this location, they have another location down the road for that! We sat outside and it is on a hill so the tables are kind of slanted but other then that it was great!

Fifth time ordering that it's been 40-60 minutes late. On tonights occasion we were offered a refund with the pizza which was appreciated, then got a call back 5 minutes later to retract the offer, to now say the pizza would not be delivered so only a refund would be provided. We had only ordered one Margherita pizza. Better and more reliable pizza places in Edinburgh. Let down.

Great pizza option that's near all the action in the city centre. What sets this place apart though is the friendly service.

Came during the Taylor Swift weekend so had to book. Food was lovely and so were the staff. We appreciated Taylor Swift playing as we had come to see her. Service was prompt and prices good value. Portions are rather large so order accordingly. Will return!

Mediocre food, good service. I am not sure how it ever earned a 4.4 Google rating, I would grade it more of a 3.5.

I was super excited to visit this restaurant and I was a bit disappointed, I wouldn’t recommend this place if you love real Italian food. I had the worst ragout pasta ever. I would describe it as a cheap pork bolognese. Taste was never found in it. I didn’t love it. Plus we were seated by a tall blonde guy. Not friendly at all. The waitress was way nicer. Thanks to her to make this time here more pleasant

Had a great service and delicious pizza served fresh. Fantastic quality at a great price. I would particularly like to commemorate the staff member Adam for such a warm and friendly reception. He made our evening and couldn't be more accommodating!

Ordered three pizzas ahead, when I got there said 5 minutes, it was busy and raining so had to wait in rain, even though a couple ot tables were empty. 20 minutes later opened the door and put 4 boxes in my hands, Asked if they had a box and they were to busy to answer. Ended up with 3 wasted pizzas they wouldn't refund. Really great experience =)

Pizza was fantastic. Got the giant mozzarella stick which was great but the cheese sprinkled on top of it wasn’t great.

Nice little restaurant. Me and my partner ordered a Chicago pizza each when it definitely is a sharing dish - no idea how anyone could finish it on their own! Our server was absolutely fantastic and so helpful. Was a nice place to visit.

Disappointing drop in quality. Gave them a few chances. Greasy and stingy with toppings. Also, be warned that olives means “green olives”, which seem to be heavily pickled and ruin the pizza.

The £20 Chicago Pizza was the greatest pizza experience of my life. Come with an open stomach.

Large portions, very nice service and delicious food. Prices reasonable for GB. Reservations are an advantage on weekends.

i visited her with my partner a few weeks ago. the food was super good and everything came out warm execpt the mozzarella stick which was a bit cold. overall we had a lovely dinner and the staff were super friendly and catchy. unforntuatly they had ran out of the frozen margarita but they made me the non-alcohic slush with a vodka shot instead. i will say it is a little pricey but they give you the option to take leftovers home if you cant finish it all which is a good bonus. i would sya this is a must visit spot in edinburgh but be aware of the prices and the business and it can feel as though you are on an in and out basis. we felt that we didnt really get much time with our food and we were in and out with in an hour and a half which isnt a long time.

The civerinos pizza was very disappointing and all the toppings just slid off the pizza and pretty poor in flavour. The deep dish was nice but certainly wasn't 12" inch pizza as was written on the receipt and the civerinos pizza wasn't even 12" either. The price points the civerinos pizza was £15 definitely wasn't worth half of that price. The deep dish at £20 although it was nice the size of it let it down I would say only worth £13-14. Only reason it never got 1 star was the staff were friendly and professional. Also over charged for the juice was supposed to be £2 charged £2.50. But a very severely overrated place and there is far better and cheaper places in Edinburgh won't be back.

I really enjoyed the deep dish pizza. The place was rammed when we came and with only a small restaurant it was a squeeze to get into our seats. But I’d definitely come again if I was ever back.

all i have to say…GET THE FOCACCIA. get it NOW! ignore the pizza lasagna and just order pounds of the focaccia. please. it’s for ur own good. i dream of this focaccia.

I went to eat there and Irina served us very well! She explained to us what dishes I could eat due to my gluten intolerance and was super attentive at all times, they take cross contamination into account. The food was delicious and the place is very beautiful! I recommend it 100% I will return for sure!

It's a nice place but a bit overpriced. Next time I wouldn't choose Chicago deep fried pizza it's tasty but classic Margherita was so much better.

Went for my nephews birthday. We ordered the Civerinos pizza, tortellini with wild boar and mushroom and the bread with oil. We couldn't have been happier. Food tasted amazing. Service was great and for 1 starter, 2 mains and a wine as well as a juice it cost £44. Great price, service and food!. Would definitely eat here again. We were on the hunt for the best pizza in town. 9/10

Very nice place and furnished in street style. Menu with choices between appetizers, pizza and pasta. Overall good. Friendly staff and prices quite high compared to the quality but in line.

GET THE CRUST BITES! Staff here are fantastic. Special shout out to Lisa, who was so much fun, so kind, and an absolute treat. But the best part about this place are the crust bites. Little pillows of joy. Get them as a side order, save room for the dessert version, and then you'll experience true happiness.

Quite disappointed to be honest! Restaurant was pretty quiet when we eventually got in… most people finished eating so assumed our 2 pizzas would come out the kitchen pretty quickly. Ended up waiting more than half an hour so we had to ask for them to takeaway. Needed to catch a train. They didn’t slice the pizzas for us so we are on the train home just waiting for the pizzas to get cold until I can find a pizza slicer. To top it all off they gave us like 1 teaspoons worth of sauce… I hope they didn’t actually charge me a £1 for that. Hope it tastes good. Looks like the boy in front of me on this train is gonna spew tho.

We visited here after seeing good reviews and hearing from others. I must say I was disappointed. The pizzas were small, they were average tasting but expensive for what it was. The waitress was lovely but didn't really dig the atmosphere/decor.

Despite some of the poor food reviews, we ordered pizzas as the delivery time said 20-40 minutes. Almost 2 hours later they still hadn't arrived. Eventually the restaurant just cancelled the order. What an excellent service!!

Went here to sit and have nice food, was seated in a booth that was too enclosed, and near other people “enjoying” their food. Food in general was okay, nothing special nor “over the moon” looking for an italian restaurant with formally dressed staff, a decent menu and good food, don’t go here, value for money just isn’t there.

My wife and I love Pizza so had to stop by Civerinos, especially when we saw they have Chicago Deep Dish on the menu. Having been to Chicago we are always on the lookout for deep dish in the UK. The Hunter Square location is smallish with an 'american dinner' influenced decor. It was also pretty quiet for a Saturday night which surprised us. We ordered the frozen margaritas to start which were okay. I would have liked to order a beer but they only have bottled beers at around £5.25 a piece. I was disappointed by the lack of a draft option and further disappointed by the lack of American beers in a pizza place serving deep dish. Having Goose Island, Samuel Adams or even something like Lagunitas on tap would have been a nice touch. We ordered two deep dish pizzas and no starters as we felt they wouldn't be needed. The deep dish pizzas came out in around 20-30 minutes as expected. The pizzas themselves were large and filling. My wife only had about half of hers. I personally thought the sauce to cheese ratio was a bit too heavy on the cheese side. Deep dish is a very cheesy pizza so the sauce is very important for breaking through all that dairy. The base felt like it was precooked, I'm not sure if the pizza was actually baked in a pan or not - it felt like maybe the bases are precooked and then filled and cooked again. All up it was a decent dining and pizza experience. The deep dish was good but could have benefitted from more of the tomato sauce. I would like to come back and try some of the other pizzas to see how they compare.

Ordered a Margherita pizza for delivery. What came to my door was shocking. A cold, uncooked and hardly any cheese on the pizza. The dough was raw so I called the store up. Spoke to Charlotte and said there was nothing they could do as they were closing. No effort to speak to somebody superior than her or anything. Terrible service and pizza.

Booked here in advance for our work night out and they were able to accommodate our large party in a great space. Amazing food and service as always. Our server EJ was a star, super patient and helpful!

I wanted to love this place, but it's meh. It's just okay, the pizza was alright, but not really tasty. They don't put salt out and we really needed it. I'm glad we never ordered the mozzarella stick, as every table who did had left it uneaten, so it must have been bad. The thing I really disliked is that the staff took half an hour to even take our drink order. We were trying to catch his eye for so long and deliberately being ignored. What was he doing instead? Having a good old chat with one of his mates who walked in and hung around the door as we tried to signal that we were thirsty and hungry. Like, seriously? We arrived at half 7 and only got noticed at 8, thanks to another staff member finally walking by. The food didn't even make up for it, considering how overpriced it was.

Staff were nice to begin with. We were sat downstairs and it was quite cold. Our starter arrived and that was nice then our mains arrived and that was a major disappointment. 3 different mains not one of them was nice. Carbonara was bland and my lasagna di pizza was cold yet burnt. No salt anywhere only pepper on a side table. The waitress (bless her lovely young lady who was rushed off her feet) asked if our food was okay and we just looked at our basically full plates as we asked for the bill and went up the stairs to who we think is the manager and said about our food. At first he said he would take off 2 of the mains from our bill but then came back with a new receipt and rudely said that as we had the chance to tell them about the food he would only take off 50% of the 2 mains, he also made a few comments about us telling the chef. Overall we won’t be back and wouldn’t recommend.

Was expecting so much more from this place and was really disappointed with the pizza and pasta dishes I tasted . To say they like basil is an understatement. Pasta dish lacked salt with to much basil and the Civerino pizza was very soggy even tho we asked for well fired . It just had an overpowering basil taste to it . Couldn’t fault the staff and service tho . Really nice and helpful and very quick . Was seated downstairs and music was a bit loud to have any sort of decent conversation and lights at the booth were a bit bright . When leaving there seemed to be a better atmosphere upstairs . All in all I won’t be rushing back any time soon . Still trying to figure out why it’s world famous !!

I've been to the other civerinos but first time trying this restaurant, pizza is always delicious and great quality. Really good size for the price. My pizza had a whole ball of burrata on top, how could you go wrong! Great service, civerinos do the best pizza in Edinburgh

Civerinos is a restaurant in the middle of Edinburgh's old town. It's a little restaurant with a little menu but is enough to have a good time eating. We took the pizza-lasaña and the Civerinos pizza. Very big portions and very tasty. Very good staff and atmosphere.

Amazing pizza and carbonara would surely want to come back again later.

Lovely spot for italian food right off the royal mile. We went for lunch and had no wait. The civerinos pizza was delicious! The waitress was lovely and helpful. And this was definitely worth the money, as it was decently priced compared to other dining spots in the old town

Absolutely smashing service, our waitress was so lovely! Food was OK! Our grandson loved it, he had spaghetti with sugo sauce! My husband and i shared the arancini which was lovely, I had risotto was OK (not much taste and was fed up pulling out rosemary leaves) hubby had pasta quite spicy but not much else taste wise! Focaccia was nice! Menus were very sparse not much choice and not really very explanatory!

Nice service and lovely staff but unfortunately the food was not up to scratch the pizza was dry and I also got food poisoning from the tortellini :( the giant mozzarella stick was also pretty disgusting, was cold in the middle and kind of soggy, overall felt very queasy after our experience here and the meal wasn’t the cheapest
