Cinta Chinese & Malaysian Restaurant in Huntingdonshire

Phoned for a takeaway and were told it was an hours wait. It was really busy with eat in customers. It was not worth the wait. BBQ ribs were big but greasy, devoid of sauce and flavour and did not taste of BBQ at all. Satay chicken was poor quality chicken. The spring rolls and vegetable rice were OK and the sweet and sour chicken was also not very tasty and the chicken was again greasy. We had been recommended but it was well below par. Don’t know if the quality was affected by how busy they were.but it was not a great experience and not one I will be repeating

I have eaten at Cinta on two previous occasions, the last time around 10 years ago. My wife had never been so we were really looking forward to it. Our first impressions were that we received a very poor welcome to the restaurant from the management. The gentleman that showed us to our table was very pleasant. Within a couple of minutes we were asked for our order. We had actually downloaded a menu from their website, so had already made our choices. When I produced a print out of the menu with my choices I was swiftly informed that dining in prices were more expensive. No big deal, or deal breaker, just a little annoying straight after the lukewarm reception. One last comment regarding the downloadable menus, the take away menu and the dining in menu are exactly the same. I have visited China on 20 occasions, and Malaysia twice, the last time being 2023, so I was really looking forward to the Chinese/Malaysian cuisine. And therein lies the disappointment for me. The food isn't bad, its's ok, it's not particularly Chinese or Malaysian, its a fusion of fairly bland Vanilla/Magnolia Asian cuisine. I love spicy food, I love Chilies, one of my favourite snacks is raw chilies and very strong, sweaty, salty extra mature cheddar cheese. So when I order dishes that are labelled "spicy" and have chillies in them, then I expect "spicy" a good punch or a kick. None of these dishes tickled my taste buds, they only tickled my wallet. I also found it almost impossible to get our waitresses attention, or indeed to hold her attention for more than a few seconds. I would ask her something and she would walk off before I had finished. The most attentive person was the young lad that brought us the credit card machine. We left the restaurant without so much as a "goodbye, or thank you for coming" from the staff. All in all, very disappointing, I didn't even bother with photographs.

Went for lunch with my husband. I’d like to point out three highlights: food, service and environment! Food 🥘: Would give it 11/10, especially the Nasi Goreng Rice and Mas Berwangi? Chicken, very authentic! They had desserts too, not too pricey, but we were filled! Service 👩‍🍳: A young lady named Jenny? Jessie? Was very helpful, as we are not from around here, she recommended places to visit and attractions! As well as the whole service. Thank you! Environment🍴: We went when it wasn’t too filled, they played very good music too and it’s just so warming and nostalgic! Would definitely visit again, would like to try their “night service”. Quite simply some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. The shredded crispy beef is sweet and sour sauce was amazing. Will certainly be going back

We came in on Sunday at 2pm, the lady asked: how can I help you? We did we want to eat! 💡 She said that they are going to close in 30mn and can't serve anymore! She didn't help! Lol I suppose to like their food but this hosting today was so awful!

Cinta is by far the best Chinese around! I drive 30 mins to pick up this amazing Chinese! The curry sauce is different to others and the chicken balls are different but the best! The rice is cooked just right, not hard, chewy but fluffy just right! It was so busy! There was at least 50 orders going on! The staff was so calm and professional. Amazing customer service and food! I can't wait to sit for a date with my hubby, that would be nice. One day soon!

I've been eating here for as long as I can remember, most recently getting a large takeaway for my son's birthday dinner. Always great food, and never remember any mistakes in our orders. Will keep on going again and again.

Not impressed at all. Cinta is a Malay/Thai style restaurant. After spending 30 years in SE Asia, we have recently returned home. This is the type of cuisine that we enjoyed on a regular basis during that time; we were looking forward to a fine Malaysian meal. The menu is extensive - can be a bad sign. I had the normally reliable old favourite – cashew chicken. Steamed rice is extra at £4 per bowl. The cashew chicken is nothing like I had ever experienced – steamed chicken and a reddish sauce, nothing else (it was listed as being in a yellow bean sauce). The penny finally dropped – the sauce tasted as if it had come straight from a jar, something like Hoisin or one of the related sauces. I figure that the sauce was just poured over steamed chicken. The pad thai was equally uninspired. In summary – expensive and unauthentic. The only authentic part was the printed menu and the staff who came from Malaysia. Will not be back.

I visited Cinta with a friend on Friday 17th February for a nice meal and I was not disappointed, the food was amazing. I had deep fried crispy shredded beef with chilli and extra chilli this really was the best crispy sticky chilli hot dish I've had in many years 😁 the Thai rice I had was perfectly cooked with nice heat and flavour, and the szechuan chicken was delicious, my friend could finish the dishes he had so I started on those too 😁 The service was quick even though the restaurant was packed and the staff very attentive and polite, regular cold water was brought to the table, the staff were easy to talk to. I'm definitely going back to Cinta hopefully soon, I would give this full marks well done Cinta ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cameron

I first went here went it opened, not exactly sure but I think about thirty years ago! It won’t be thirty weeks before I return though. From walking through the door we were treated as special. The waiting person was friendly but polite and efficient. The food was outstanding and the little extras such as warmed damp tissue to clean hands and a fortune cookie to finish with made the whole experience memorable. I’m already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you everyone at Cinta.

My wife and I decided to have a valentine’s meal at Cinta this evening. There was a set menu and it was absolutely fantastic - very tasty and a great selection. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and as always the staff were lovely. Thank you Cinta

We were a group of 6 and food was excellent with a huge range of options on the menu. All of us were very impressed.

Second visit for lunch to this restaurant was totally disappointed. No decent proper noodle " char koay teow" and should not be advertised in the menu as "Penang char koay teow" Food was tasteless and ingredients were sub standard. Worst meal I had !!!

Visited last night. Were quite late for our table because of the parking situation (some park event taking place nearby) but didn't seem a problem for the restaurant and any other night it shouldn't be as difficult. Staff extremely polite and efficient. Food was excellent....

Cinta has great ambience, unless you're the first customer of the evening, the place is buzzing. The staff are very helpful, seeing you to the table, taking coats if you don't want them over your seat; very polite when providing menus and taking drinks orders....

Absolutely loved it. Had pretty basic starters and mains but everything was really good. The tea smoked chicken was a highlight. The choice on the menu is vast and the service was excellent. Efficient and certainly very friendly. Look forward to going back.

Visited family and went tonight to Cinta this evening and due to the whole experience being beyond even acceptable I have to write this review 20 minutes from leaving. We all ordered the Cinta Feast for 4 as the menu looked varied with lots of dishes containing meats fish etc.The Hors d'oeuvres came and to be honest they were very ordinary. The ribs looked insipid and looked to have been reheated at best. Everything else just tasted the same.The duck course was as it should be. From then on the meal drastically went down hill. All the dishes tasted exactly the same - very bland, no depth and no differentiation of ingredients. The meat dishes we could not identify what meat it was and to be honest we are not sure some dishes were actually meat although I'm sure they were but due to the cooking it was difficult to tell.Unfortunately when we did complain feeling it was our right to as paying customers the whole evening went far beyond unacceptable and went to being openingly and loudly challenged at the table by the waitress to the extent she tried the food at the table using our cutlery and then declared the food to be fine suggesting we wasn't aware how the food should taste. Basically the waitress was rude, accusatory and openly hostile to our polite complaint and then she accused one of the party that we were making the complaint for our own ends and insinuated we were just trying to get money off the bill before we actually walked in. All in all an appalling experience never to be repeated.

Came here on saturday night and the food was amazing although the table we had for the 4 of us was very small and cramped. The place was packed out and made it very noisy as ceilings are low, but the food more than makes up for it. Will certainly be back

Our first visit to this local Chinese and Malaysia restaurant and we were not disappointed. We had pre-booked our table, which is recommended for this very popular eatery.With a warm welcome we were shown to our table of two and provided with their drinks and very comprehensive food menu, which was almost bordering of being to much, which made it very difficult to choose our starters and main courses.The service was fast and efficient for taking our drinks and food order and our starters followed swiftly. Our main course only came after we were asked if we were ready for it, which was a nice touch.Both our starters and main courses were of excellent quantity and quality and will certainly be making a return to this restaurant soon.

Thought the food was delicious but slightly rushed. It was a Saturday night, but 7pm booking. I felt like they were on a tight table turn around which put a slight damper on the night.

When we arrived I told the owner of the restaurant that this time I wanted my bill in English and not Chinese. The problem with Cinta is that at the end of the meal when you finish your meal they bring the bill in Chinese ! This has happened twice in a row. The owner just laughed and said he can not write in English. When the bill did arrive it was still in Chinese so I refused to pay until I was shown in English what they were charging me for. The owner still refused to issue me a bill in English and I refused to pay. Consequently a till printed bill in English was presented to me ! Easy to read and check. I paid and was then told that I could not keep the receipt ! Very dodgy. The food was OK but the beef rendang was cold.

Very tasty & varied dishes indeed, beautifully cooked. The rave comments of previous reviewers about the shellfish dishes are entirely justified .. spot on. The service was very friendly and attentive, too. We will certainly return despite the slightly tired decor. Judging by the busy restaurant on this midweek evening, we are not the only locals to share that view.

What a disaster, thought we would try a cheeky Chinese on a Tuesday night. Went to Cinta as we had heard good reports. Well we had a very different evening. To start my wife asked to try the house wine and was given a drop in a water tumbler that wouldn’t drown a fly. She then ordered a glass. We then ordered sizzling beef and sizzling chicken. Neither were sizzling even though we were warned not to touch the metal bowls as they were so hot they had come from mars. We then challenged the non sizzling chicken and were told it was sizzling in the kitchen. They then served Hot Chinese leaves on a cold plate and put it onto a warmer. Again we questioned the cold plate and was told they always serve their food on cold plates, obviously the sizzling dishes too. All round a very disappointing visit. The food its self wasn’t bad but really dismissive service.chi

Cinta is the place of choice if I want something tasty, reasonably priced, with friendly staff in a cosy atmosphere. As usual, it did not fail to disappoint!

The Cinta is an excellent restaurant. We’ve been going for around 10 years now and have never had a bad meal. From friendly staff to superb food, it is simply excellent. Don’t hesitate - just go and enjoy!

Coming from a South East Asian family, it is really hard to find Malaysian cuisine in East Anglia so discovering Cinta got the family pretty excited. Booking was easy enough but the woman on the phone was very abrupt. Service at the restaurant was the same, not exactly rude but very curt and made you disinclined to ask questions about the menu or chat. It was a mid-week booking and not busy, and there was no atmosphere so you didn't feel like you wanted to linger and eat at leisure.

First try at Cintas after recommendation and at first the starter of chicken stay was great then it all changed when we started our mains and after we asked numerous times on the phone to have these dishes extra spicy - they were not. at all in fact. Complete disappointment and wouldn’t trust them in future bookings. Also the king prawns were almost deep fried in the chow mien which I find completely unnecessary for the delicate flavour that they are.

I love this place - not only does it serve the most delicious vegan food (has it's own vegan menu), but the staff are so lovely and incredibly efficient.

Our food tasted of cleaning products when we said to take it away they then claimed their food ‘tastes different to other places’. They refused to take any money off the bill even though the food was hardly touched! Very disappointed and wouldn’t recommend to anyone!

This restaurant has a very extensive restaurant menu catering for all types of meals. We were gluten free and vegan and there was plenty of choice for all courses. Although very busy, being a Saturday, the service was excellent.

Booked our table Thursday for Friday night for two people, they advised us that they were busy and wouldn’t be able to seat us until 8.30pm, later than we wanted but we booked anyway, arrived at 8.30pm Friday night greeted quite rudely by a waitress when we asked for a table, she responded that we don’t have one and laughed but I then told her we had booked, she then sent for a man to come over who was looking through and checking with me to be told we don’t have your booking! There was no attempt to try rectify this and look to see if we could wait for one just a very half hearted sorry so we left. The last time we went as a table of 8 for New Years the food wasn’t up to the usual standard so after their lack of customer service tonight we will not be returning.

Great food, cooked to perfection. Having been to Malaysia a few times always wary that the food will not meet the standard of local food, no need for concern the food is really good, nice and spicy if that is what you like.

Our previous visit to this was a couple of years before and the food hadn’t been that great but we thought we’d try it again for mine and my friends birthday.

What they lack in headroom they more than make up for in quality of food. I've been coming here for more than twenty years and have never failed to be more than satisfied. There is an extensive menu to choose from, the staff are courteous, attentive and helpful and the food is simply a delight. Next week, for the first time we're going to have a takeaway from here so it'll be interesting to see how it stacks up. Yes, the ceiling is extremely low and gives the place a cramped feel but please don't let that deter you. You'll be glad you gave it a go!

This place is amazing- often pop on after work just for their wonderful soups! Everything we have tried on the menu is 100% gorgeous and high quality. If you are passing through godmanchester it’s definitely not to be over looked.

This place has excellent and good quality food! The service here is fantastic and very welcoming! But the only thing need to consider is that you need to book your table in advance for both Fridays and Saturdays as they can be fully packed easily.

As locals we can't believe we haven't tried Cinta until this evening. The food is amazing! Can highly recommend the duck for starter. Decided to try this place with family as we live local on a Sunday night before the bank holiday. Glad we did as food was superb. The menu was huge and lots of selection for everyone including vegetarians. We had a mix of Thai Red Curries and Garlic and Chilli Curries. They are the most authentic Asian meal I have had since I was last in Asia. The servers (apologies I didnt get their names) were extremely attentive, on the ball with everything and had a great sense of humour. I will be returning for more and this is 100% my new go to for Eating out (will also be using it for takeaway)

Had a wonderful dinner here with my husband, daughter son in law and granddaughter. We had the two different types of platter starters and a collection of main courses and a couple of extra dishes. The food was excellent along with superb service. Definitely not the cheapest restaurant, but we go there every time we visit our family. Highly recommend it.

Wonderful menu combining the best of Chinese and Malaysian eating experiences. Brilliant seafood recipes and fantastic coconut-enhanced curries. Small and very often full to overflowing the atmosphere is friendly and sometimes frantic but well worth a visit.Staff are efficient and welcoming and service is good.

Chinese New Year , back to Cinta Restaurant after 6 months out of the country , and it was a pleasure , the staff are very attentive and the food Delicious ,we had the Cinta feast and Fusion feast ,shared between 4 , there was so much food , You need to book as its really busy .

Wonderful choice of great tasting food - freshly cooked and superbly spiced! Flavours you will not get elsewhere. The best Thai green curry I have had anywhere. We tried 2 kinds of spicy squid to start both equally delicious followed by the king prawn Thai Green Curry, seafood peanut satay and king prawn noodles - perfect! Plenty with some to take home.
