Cinquecento Pizzeria Notting Hill in Kensington and Chelsea - Phone Number, Reservations, Reviews

Way better than other pizzerias. As an Italian and a restaurants expert in my view 500 is way better than any other pizza place in London. Having recently moved to Portobello, on Easter Sunday I went with six friends and family to the local 500 where on all counts I found the same quality of their Notting Hill Gate branch that was my favorite London Pizzeria when I lived there. This shows that the 500 pizzerias are consistent in products quality, service and atmosphere. I ordered a classic Margherita that was as good as any that I have had in Italy. Not in the least rubbery, chewy and extra thin or thick as most other London pizzerias serve, I’m afraid. It was just perfect. All the others were equally satisfied with their choice. One of us had a lasagna that according to him, who is a well know Italian chef, and unusual for a pizzeria, was as delicious as the one that he makes in his restaurant in Monza.. The place is small but cozy with a warm Italian country style interior that straightaway makes one feel at home. On entering we were welcomed in typical friendly Italian style by their likeable manageress who with her staff attended us admirably. For dessert I had a delicious panna cotta covered with raspberry coulis, while all the others were happy with their choice. For wine e had a Sauvignon Blanc plus a glass of red for one of one of us, and surprising for me they also serve a very tasty Sicilian orangeade that I didn’t know. Prices were adequate and affordable for a place located in one of the busiest touristic areas in London where rents are spiraling high. If I have to put a tiny criticism is that they didn’t have decaffeinated coffee that evening. This said their coffee was of the finest possible quality. I feel very lucky to have found this lovely pizzeria next to where I live. As, out of gratefulness, I always mention the names of the staff of the restaurants where I go who serve me well, I wish to thank the manageress Natasha, her assistant Federica and all the rest including the pizzaiolos who did their best to give to us a memorable pizza experience definitely worth repeating Full kudos to 500, a one hundred per cent genuine Italian Pizzerias. Pizzeria fantastica abbiamo pranzato la domenica delle Palme ed è stata un’ottima scelta, location eccezionale, pizza buonissima con prodotti di qualità, personale cortese e gentile, responsabile di sala eccezionale e soprattutto italiana, (pugliese) quindi garanzia di ottima Pizza prezzi nella norma! Consigliatissima!

I wouldn't normally post a negative review but our meal was sooooo bad I had to share. Food cold and terrible! Ragu pasta with no ragu, minute portion size and served cold! When we gently complained the bowl was taken away and returned, still with no sauce and tepid. The lasagna, was equally poor and served at room temperature. Our simple starter, bruschetta, was a small, hard piece of bread with a chopped tomato - no dressing, it resembled cardboard. We waited 30 minutes plus for our starter. I have visited here several times before and the food was fine. On this occasion it was super disappointing. Our waiter was lovely and when we justifiably complained he apologised. I asked to speak to the manager who wouldn't oblige. We received our bill with no concession for inedible food and slow service. In summary, anywhere can have an off night but when it isn't recognised by the management, it demonstrates a complete lack of pride in the establishment. There are other places to eat in NH, I would proceed with caution if you eat here.

Lovely evening at Cinquecento pizzeria! Friends night out and it was our first visit at Cinquecento Pizzeria, been recommended by a friend. absolutely stunning, friendly sraff , lovely atmosphere, pretty cosy place and the Pizza I got to say is the BEST IN TOWN. The pizza is great but perhaps it would be better to order it. Tiny place, tiny tables, crowded, loud.

I am really sorry to say that the pizza wasn’t how expected. We previously had the 500 pizza delivered from Chelsea area and we really enjoyed it. We went to the location in Notting Hill with the same expectation but it was a disaster. I am happy to pay money for good food but the pizza We had was definitely to expensive compared to the quality. The topping was lacking and the dough was really terrible. The dough was uncooked on top and burned in the bottom… definitely too thin in the middle. As there are better pizza places in the area I am sorry to say I won’t give this place a second chance.

Servizio un po’ lento, però la pizza era buona, merito del pizzaiolo italiano(semm napuli e paisà). Da Portobello a portapizza la consiglierei comunque.. ma.. metteteci qualche parola in più d’italiano che a parer mio fa comunque scena. Dai bravi ragazzi!!! Alla prossima guaglió… 😆

Food was quite average - nothing amazing but nothing to complain about either. However, what was horrible was service and price point for the food/experience. In terms of service, it took them one hour to get to us the starters (which did not need cooking) and another half an hour to get us pizzas - when we enquired about the delay multiple times the answer was “what can we do, we are busy serving deliveroo customers” In terms of prices, as an example, san daniele prosciutto with mozzarella was £20 and it included exactly four pieces of prosciutto. Parmigiana, which was also generously priced, was so small it was a joke to share it.

Called a couple of branches to ask about the GF option and was told that the pizza was super tasty. Was given a frisbee that was super cooked and crunchy, which is far from a pizza should be. I did tell a manager on site and the reply was a cold and sharp "That's the GF, cannot expect anything else"...the type of answer that froze me on the spot. Then an Italian manager came (Rita) and I plainly told her that the pizza served that was unacceptable , that I was "sold" something completely different over the phone. Obviously I could not be given anything else and was told there was no point in making another pizza as it would have been the same. I was expecting something to apologise for my awful experience, nothing came our way, not even a limoncello in the house. Surely I won't be going into any Cinquecento, but so will not one of the friends that was with me who did not like the icy answer of the first manger. People with GF intolerances must be treated better and not offered an overpriced based that is not worth to be called pizza.

Overpriced pizza. Bought a takeaway. The massive list of ingredients made me believe I was getting a simple pizza. Prices are £17 on average. Found the guy at the desk to be rude from asking what I wanted to order to taking my money. Hopefully the novelty will wear off & Portobello can say ‘bye’ to this one.

Decent pizza, it is one of go to places. Service can be hit or miss, but a great take out. have a quick pint at the Castle and your ready to go.
