Cinecescister in Cotswold

This was a takeout. Great service and welcome but Overall was disappointing. Not as good as we used to have. The sides, chickpeas and saag paneer were really nice and fresh but the rest was average. Not much taste to the starters and mains. What is the idea behind the luminous green salad dressing I can’t say! Better food at Khushi in Lechlade.

We had a really good eating experience here very recently. First of all the ambience of the restaurant is very nice; the staff could not have been more welcoming and the choice of food excellent and varied and on the whole reasonably priced. It was delicious. We would absolutely go back there again.

A Tuesday evening, but the restaurant was busy with people enjoying food and good company. As visitors to the town it is always nice to see that local people had chosen this restaurant, and good reviews helped us to decide to book a table. A mixed platter was chosen to start then selected 2 main meals from the wide choice on the menu. Quick and efficient service and without loud background music (which makes a pleasant change from some places that seem to want you not to speak to your partner!). Difficult to create an atmosphere in the space available, but the food made up for it and it was altogether a very pleasant evening.

Nice food, had a Korai Chicken and asked for it madras hot, served perfect, only in Cirencester 1 Night otherwise would have gone there again, nice decor and clean, only criticism was the stairs carpet to the toilets, really filthy guys please change it, would definitely recommend this Restaurant.

Great experience at the restaurant, interesting old building with low doorways etc - wonder what it used to be originally. Service was good, food was excellent and there was plenty of choice. No rushing by the staff to push punters through, it was nicely paced and all very tasty. Definitely going back again.

We stayed in Cirencester for 1 night, and after looking at reviews decided to book here for our evening meal. We wasn’t disappointed. The service was excellent and efficient. The food was delicious. I would recommend and we would return again.

We just had a takeaway meal so cannot comment on restaurant service etc. Our food was ready almost on time, the staff were most polite and helpful even giving us a couple of free beers. We all agreed the food was delicious and portion size was more than adequate. Would certainly return.

We hadn’t visited for a while, but we had a very good evening and meal with you tonight. We all ordered one of your lamb speciality dishes (different ones) and we all enjoyed them. Very friendly service too, thank you.

Saturday evening. Service was very slow. They took an order for drinks and poppadums but did not ask if we wanted to order the curry. We assumed they would be back to ask about food. podadums arrived reasonably fast. Several waiters walked past our table but it was difficult to get the attention of one to order food. (It took about 10 minutes to speak to someone). Items missed from main course (we ordered 2 rice and only one arrived). We ordered 3 drinks but only two arrived. Very difficult to find someone to pay at the end. Food was mediocre. Would not return to this restaurant

We went on Saturday evening and it was as busy as expected. We were met immediately and taking straight to our table. Unfortunately, the table next to us were all a bit drunk and very loud, so I spoke to Roman to see if he could move us. He was most understanding and accommodating and moved us to a different table. He gave us advice on food choice and was a great host throughout our evening. All the food was great. Decent flavours and lots of choice. Would definitely recommend and return whenever we are in the area again.

My wife and I were holidaying in the Cotswolds, and had not booked anywhere for the evening. Luckily this restaurant found us a table for two and the food and service were excellent. Particularly Alex was most helpful. I chose chicken shashlik and my wife had kastori lamb. Both were made to the highest standards and were delicious. I just wished I lived nearby. Thanks for contributing to our great holiday.

What a wonderful experience this was the best Indian food I have tasted simply amazing. The owner Roman was so helpful and attentive I we went two nights in a row it was that good. We will be back again when we visit Cirencester next time. Thank you to the staff and chef 🙏

Delighted we chose Indian Rasoi to eat in while staying in Cirencester. Extensive menu with lots of different choices away from just the normal options . I had a king prawn dish and it was exceptional . Staff were helpful when we were deciding what to order and then checked that we were happy with our choices Nice white table cloths and relaxed atmosphere despite being a busy Friday Highly recommend

I have visited this delightful restaurant many times, although I live in Cirencester. The food and ambience are first class, and the owners truly delightful and they pride themselves on making you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. We even received a gift bag during our recent visit, and you can always tell where the lady owner is by the sound of her laugh, it makes for a joyous place. Delightful

My sister and I got our families together in town with a last minute addition of food to the plan. From the moment we turned up we were made welcome and the team were fantastic throughout. Each dish was freshly made and tasted fantastic, children and adults alike cleared their plates. Indian rasoi is the place to go for Indian in Cirencester. We’ve been for both takeaway and eat in and always fabulous meals

The takeaway service was really quick and staff were welcoming upon arrival. Food was good and enjoyed it.

The first time here. What a Gem in Cirencester. Best Indian I have ever been to. The set menu created by Roman was delicious, every course. All the staff were attentive and really did care that we had the best service and we could not have asked for more. Will definitely be going back. Thank you for a great evening. Stumbled upon this amazing building, as soon as we walked staff were attentive, friendly and welcoming! Great menu selection, extremely good value, and accommodating of allergens. Food was amazing, better than rosette Indians previously tasted. Everything homemade and to order the Peshwari naan was the best my partner had ever had, (he’s a Michelin guide chef)! Would we go back..? Yes went there the next night!

Ordered takeaway and was ready on time. Friendly professional service and very clean premises. Food was excellent, vindaloo spicy and hot, sag alloo very tasty, rice spiced very well & onion bahjee portions just right. Will definitely try more dishes from here

Offers a varied menu beyond that you normally find in an Indian restaurant. However the food is overpriced and the wine extremely so, even by restaurant standards. This wouldn’t be so bad but the lamb was awful, my partner found the chicken was stringy, the rice was undercooked and the naan was overcooked.

Used to like Indian Rasoi, but ordered for takeaway tonight and we were really disappointed. The meal came to almost £50 for two of us, and that price wasn't reflected in the quality (or quantity). At £3.75 per portion, the samosas were absolutely tiny (two of them, around 2" across); the onion bhajis were really dry and several of the poppadoms were stale (chewy). The flame lamb was tasty, but there was so little meat, it must've been no more than one small leg steak.Really feel like we've wasted our money.

Visiting Cirencester and found Indian Rasoi on Trip Advisor for an evening meal. Pleasant surroundings on two floors. Two staff serving; one very helpful, the other not very communicative. Starters were reasonable though the kebab was rather bland and lacking flavour. Mains were freshly cooked and tasty but the spices didn't come through in the overall flavour Medium heat as per menu. In summary, a pleasant meal that could have been more flavoursome.

First time having Indian food and it was wonderful! Service was great and so was the atmosphere. I had the marinated chicken skewers and was surprised at how flavorful and tender they were.

We had a really tasty meal here. The menu is clearly explained, with an indication of how spicy each dish might be, which if anything erred on the spicy side (so mild was very mild, medium was mild - at least to our taste - etc) but this ensured the flavour of the ingredients came through properly. Excellent poppadoms to start, tasty starters (not too much of them to fill you before the main course) and well-prepared mains. If you like the sweet-sour taste of tamarind then go for the wonderful Kasturi lamb and for something delicate then try the Mangalorean chicken. Vegetable sides also very good. Charming service and reasonable wine list; try one of the Indian wines, which are much underrated. It always inspires confidence to see Indian families enjoying eating in an Indian restaurant; there were three in the evening we went. Hightly recommended.

On our first visit to the Cotswolds we came across this little Gem. We like Indian food but with a difference and the Indian Rasoi hit the mark. They have the usual Indian curry selection and then their specials which were to our taste The same night a family were there celebrating their daughters 8th birthday, good for her. We liked the service and food so much we went back the following night which, sadly was our last in the Cotswolds.

I maybe slightly intoxicated on most occasions that I have a curry and therefore my recollection of the meal can be somewhat hazy, however on this occasion despite my best attempts to add haze I can remember every beautiful bite of this delicious curry - the North Indian lamb curry was a fantastic spicy concoction of taste explosions which will live with me for at least a few more days...I sincerely hope that I’m almost sober the next time I visit....the staff were alright as well :-)

We were a party of 10, staying in the area for birthday weekend. Our meal was absolutely delicious, everything tasted fresh, everything tasted how it should, be it spicy or sweet. When we collected the food the staff were very friendly and even gave us a fre bottle of wine to celebrate. Will definitely return when in the area again and would definitely recommend.

We've had a couple of really good meals here recently. The menu is interesting and food quality high. Service is always very professional and accommodating.However, our last visit was on a Saturday evening and I wouldn't visit on a Saturday again.Staff still incredibly good, but our food ( we only ordered mains ) took an hour to arrive and when it did two out of three dishes were cold. Ironically they had brought out warmed plates some 15 minutes prior to the food apppearing but of course by the time it arrived they were stone cold.The bill was reduced and we had the offer of my dish being replaced, but as we had to meet with people we declined the offer. I left hungry.So, a really good Indian restaurant but a victim of its own popularity on Saturday evenings - we were told it's generally very busy. Fine if you want a leisurely meal, not so good if you need to be somewhere later in the evening.

They food and service is great everytime! The staff go above and beyond to make sure you have a good meal. Very good size portions too.

Went here to celebrate my mum's birthday. 7 of us ate, the food was lovely, it all came out at the same time with no issues surrounding the order. The restaurant itself was very cozy which was perfect as it was a freezing cold night. The staff were very accommodating and even surprised us with a complimentary birthday cake! Its was a lovely perfect evening! Will definitely be going again!

Lovely people and food was brilliant. Not one bad word to say about this restaurant. Booked us a taxi from the restaurant to our hotel. They let us stay in the restaurant until the taxi arrived a good 30minutes. Would recommend anyone to visit this restaurant, food amazing and again staff very welcoming

I go here regularly and the service, food and atmosphere is always of the highest quality. I normally go in the week and even then it is busy and lively. A great menu and one of the best (if not the best) tasting curry I have experienced!

Visited during the heavy snow in March. The food was really lovely and nicely presented to the table. My only downside was my choice of a fairly hot curry that was definitely as advertised. Medium curry choice would have been better for me but that is all down to preference. Having said this the food was really good.

Staying in South Cerney and wanted a good curry take away - saw this one on trip advisor and had good reviews - went online and selected what we wanted and rang order through - said would be 30 to 40 minutes - arrived at time stated and all was ready and staff very polite - also noted how good the actual restaurant looked - got back and opened dishes - all looked really good - especially enjoyed the mixed platter starter for 2 - can honestly say one of the best takeaways we have had and will certainly use again and also planning to eat in restaurant next time as well - highly recommended

I’ve visited Indian Rasoi numerous times and it’s difficult to find any fault with the food. The quality of the meat & fish is good and all food is tasty with appropriate levels of spice. Iook forward to returning again soon.

We visit Cirencester twice a year. The venue is run by a really nice guy. The service is friendly and helpful, no push on the extras. The staff engaged with our son. The food was tasty, plentiful and excellent quality.We had lovely meal, the wine list was varied with a great Grenache. So I would strongly recommend this restaurant, they will do all they can to make it a good evening. Naga chicken and chicken shashlik were the stars of the meal.

I was working with a large group of colleague nearby and needed to find a restaurant in Cirencester for an end of event crew dinner. As soon as I called the up I knew we were in safe hands. They have a room upstairs that will accommodate 50 (there were 42 of us) and Roman and his team put on their banquet for us - no having to think about what to eat and with a great range of their most popular dishes.I did go in a couple of days earlier in a group of four to introduce myself and can also confirm that for a smaller group the service and food was excellent.

Me and my partner booked a table the week previous to staying at cirencester for the weekend. They even txt me to welcome us and table booked. A little bit late for getting our table ready but made comfortable. So at the end of the evening our remarks are, food was amazing, only one to ask for a phall in two and a half years, free drinks if I ate it so a nice gin and tonic was followed. Recently visited with my family - party of 7. Food was good, sauces had flavor, lamb was a bit tough but chicken and prawns were cooked nicely. Service had good and bad points. Friendly staff who looked after my elderly mother with free coffee.

Very handy for parking, and a nice looking restaurant in an old building. It was quite busy when we arrived on a Saturday evening, but we were soon taken to our (booked) table. We were given menus but not offered drinks. waiters came and went, I thought I had caught his eye, but no... After maybe 15 mins, my husband went and ordered drinks at the bar, which then arrived fairly promptly. It was still some time until someone came and took out order, and even longer until the food actually arrived. On the upside, we got a plate of poppadoms and pickles along with the drinks, which were compliments of the house, and very good.The food itself was very tasty, all 4 of us enjoyed it. I had a salmon curry. Sadly, something in it disagreed with me badly and this resulted in a sick day on Monday, having suffered stomach cramps, bloat, and diarrhoea since the morning after the meal. No-one else had any problems. This has put me off slightly, I'd go back - but I'd avoid the fish.

Was recommended this restaurant from the hotel we were staying in, and it didn't disappoint,Yes the beer is pricy but it's worth it just to eat here ( or just drink water ? )We tried 4 dishes and all very different which I feel is always a sign of a really great chef/eatery. Nos sentimos muy bien acogidos ya cuando entramos en el restaurante. El servicio era excelente en todos los sentidos a través de nuestra visita. Había mucho para elegir el menú. Los precios era razonable. En la casa, nos dieron pan y cuatro pequeños platos diferentes para comer con el pan. Tuvimos tres platos diferentes para principal y todo estaba muy bueno. El restaurante es íntimo y acogedor.

Visitamos el Indio Rasoi en una escapada a Cirencester. Tengo que ser sincero, este es el peor que he probado en la India. Un amigo tenía el pollo passander y yo tuvimos la masala tikka. Ambos estaban sin sabor y la textura de la salsa era una pasta espesa. Era repugnante. Las patatas fritas eran cómico, estar más flaco que McDonalds, barato y desagradable. Lo único bueno era la nann pan.Muy decepcionado, evitar si quieres un buen restaurante indio

Visitamos aquí con amigos en una noche de marcha en Cirencester. El restaurante está ubicado en un antiguo edificio que ofrece un ambiente muy agradable. El menú era bastante amplia, pero estaba compuesto de un montón de especialidades del chef en vez de el curry tradicional de la mayoría de restaurantes indios. Fui por el cordero curry del norte de la India que estaba bien, pero no era picante, como anuncian. Y la bandeja de pickle Poppadoms eran bastante caros, como la cerveza a 5 libras. 95 para una botella grande de cobra. Aunque yo no estaba decepcionado con la comida probablemente pruebe uno de los otros restaurantes en la ciudad debería visitar de nuevo.

beutifull setting, like walking into somebodies front room, and being greated and welcomed by the manager.we were shown too our table by the manager who thanked us for coming, he explained what was included in the prize this included a starter and main course. we were given the menu along with complimentary poppadoms and accompniments and left to decide what we wanted to order. we ordered the mix grill tandori to share, 2 chicken jalfrizi pilau rice and garlic nan breads. the meal was cooked freshly, when the meal was served it looked and smelt delicious, and it definately tasted fantastic, the flavours and quality were outstanding. the naan bread was so large light and fluffy. the portion sizes were very good which caused to ask for a takeout box to take home as it would of been a great shame to waste the food. the waiter brought the bill along with our take out box and all we paid for was the drinks. we were delighted with the price, we left a nice well deserved tip.we left the resteraunt feeling very full and well satisfied with a lovely meal in a beutifull setting.thank you to the staff and resteraunt for a lovely evening. :)

Realmente precioso y el servicio amable y la comida fantástica india. Cada plato es distinto. Última noche disfrutamos del Coco y pan de gambas fritas Chili, un cordero pollo tikka y Jolpai con olivas y especias - absolutamente delicioso. Hemos venido aquí por un par de años, y la comida es siempre excepcional. Hay algunos buenos restaurantes indios en Cheltenham, pero son muy caros. Éste combina cocina muy talentoso con una excelente relación calidad-precio. Totalmente recomendado!

Visited Cirencester for 1 night recently and chose to eat here after seeing it was well reviewed on here. we were v disappointed and having good expectations. we had the mixed platter for 2 to start.. it was luke warm... like as if it had been sitting around for awhile. for main we had 2 main dishes, 2 garlics naans, 1 rice & 1 chips. the chips were like french fries which i didn't expect in an Indian. the garlic naans were v poor, no garlic visible or to taste. the lamb was tough and there's wasn't much of it and the chicken dish wasnt v tasty either. it wasn't cheap too!

Four of us had a really lovely evening. Food is good and the prices are not too bad either. The restaurant is very comfortable and the service attentive without being oppressive. Have eaten here a number of times and never yet been disappointed.

Sorry guys but it was actually the worse food ive ever had, we had mix which felt microwaved food, for main it was biryani & naga chili chicken & i was up all night being sick

Evitar A TODA COSTA EL PESCADO AQUÍ. Se puso muy enferma después de comer y reporte al restaurante en sentirse mejor. En primer lugar hicieron caso omiso a la queja y, por último, respondió con dientes la crítica debajo de la alfombra. Peces muy pobre. Promedio todo lo demás pero pésimo servicio al cliente

A little quiet on a Sunday evening,the restaurant is scrupulously clean,well laid out and presented and has a menu offering more than the well tried and tested dishes but it still offers the usual favourites.Meals marked "hot" are served that way which makes a change from many bland offerings so often encountered.The staff were personable and wine list good.Our only reservation was that we were told they "could not" offer Masala tea.Upon leaving,we mentioned this to someone calling himself "the boss" and we were promptly offered this on the house,together with his apologies.Nice touch.The food was good and seemed freshly prepared.It is not "run of the mill"

Nos alojamos en el Cotswold Water Park y el spa del hotel y decidió aventurarse hacia cirencester para comer un bocado. No reservar, pero aparecimos en la India Rasoi. El personal era muy acogedor y nos mostró a nuestra mesa. El servicio era bueno y amable y la comida era muy agradable.Lo recomendaría.

The food was delicious with prompt service for a take away. They even gave me a beer on the house as I'd got married a few days before!

Little hard to find not in the main area of the town but worth a visit. Helpful staff and a good range of curries to suit all taste

Había un ambiente oscuro ambiental, pero rota con el sonido de las risas y la gente divirtiéndose. La comida y el personal era excelente y muy atento. Para mí una noche sorprendentemente buena. "sorprendentemente", porque india no es una comida favorita de la mía, pero este es un excelente ejemplo con explicaciones claras de los platos para los iniciados. Disfruté de mi visita!

Lovely food. Ordered chefs specials & delicious. Highly recommend. Lovely ambiance & staff friendly & attentive. Expect to pay a little bit more but worth the extra.

Visitamos La India Rasoi después de leer una recomendación en el libro de visitantes en nuestro B&B, estoy tan contenta de haberlo hecho. El restaurante está en un edificio antiguo, pero está decorado en un estilo moderno, con muebles de alta calidad y accesorios. Nos dieron una cálida bienvenida y nos dieron la opción de mesa. Hay un ambiente muy bueno, con música de fondo relajante.El menú es amplio con una buena descripción de los platos. Las porciones son muy generosas y todo, incluyendo las placas, estaba bien caliente y las bandejas climatizada en cada mesa se aseguró de que quedó de esa manera. El servicio del personal amable, no podía ser criticada.Todo lo que pedimos fue de primera clase. Disfrutamos de nuestra comida y no dudaría en volver si estamos en el área de nuevo.Este es un excelente restaurante. ¡Bien hecho!

We had a tasty meal with some interesting options including fish and dishes I haven't seen before. We received great service and flexibility when we needed to change the table booking. It was a really pleasant meal and evening.
