Cibus Pizza in Manchester

He estado aquí un par de veces antes de mi visita más reciente, esto fue de lejos el más memorable. Tenía unos calamares frescos preciosos para empezar, mi amigo tiene las mejillas de cerdos estofados, ambos estaban deliciosos. Para el principal tuve pulpo cornish bebé guisado en vino tinto con garbanzos, estaba de nuevo delicioso, terroso, el pulpo todavía tenía un poco de bocado. Mi amigo tenía el poussin, que también era muy bueno. El único plato corriente era el pastel de almendra y ricota (bastante aburrido) , que se salvó con una mermelada de naranja fresca, y un poco de helado de pistacho que estaba fenomenal. Ambos tuvimos cerveza sin alcohol (muy agradable). El servicio fue maravilloso, el personal me cantó feliz cumpleaños!

Absolutamente impactante estafa abrumadora. Pedimos dos filetes de costilla que llegaron picados con un cargamento de cohete y virutas de parmesano tiradas encima. Parecía una cena de perros para alguien sin capacidad de usar un cuchillo o un tenedor. Las patatas dauphenoise a un lado eran buenas y afortunadamente poco saladas, pero un plato pequeño. Básicamente quien cocinó esto fue sacado de su zona de confort de pizza (la mayoría de la gente parecía estar comiendo pizza, lo que no es sorprendente ya que el Ribeye principal era de £ 28 cada uno y teníamos dos ) Estaba absolutamente cargado de cristales de sal con un fuerte sabor de ajo / aceite de trufa que era abrumador por decir lo menos. Cuando nos preguntaron cómo estaba su comida, señalamos la sal, el miembro del personal se desentendió e incluso agregó una propina del 10% a la factura de la comida ya sobrevalorada. £ 84 por una pequeña copa de vino tinto, una pinta de cerveza lager, los dos principales, y algunos profiteroles compartidos que en realidad eran decentes. Pero nos sentimos destrozados y no volveremos. Tonterías absolutas para Levenshulme, no es más que una pizzería, tratando de hacer comida italiana, tan molesta.

Otros fantásticos 3 platos y vino! Esta es nuestra segunda visita y una vez más, la comida era absolutamente increíble! El entrante de pan de ajo siempre es increíble. Pasta y pizza 10/10 y la Ricotta un pastel de queso fue absolutamente increíble! Un lugar encantador, con un ambiente fantástico. Gran personal y un pequeño espacio de asientos al aire libre encantador también! Muy recomendable, ideal para parejas y familias. También hacen pizzas sin gluten y opciones veganas!

Fantastic food and perfect service. We were warmly welcomed by Pablo and the team who were expecting us and knew it was a special occasion for our daughter. Our table was perfect. Food was truly outstanding - one of the best Italian meals we’ve had. Sea bream (amazing), lasagne and pizza, all delicious. The summer menu has so much variety and has been put together extremely well. Would love to return. Highly recommended. Thank you Cibus.

Fantstic Saturday pm pizza served in time to watch the FA Cup Final. I was on a deadline to get out to watch game and the pizza was on time and sumptuous. Will be back next week defo.

Great local Italian with a good selection of pizzas as well as small plates, pasta and sides. Pricing is reasonable for food and the restaurant itself is small yet buzzy, with a great rear covered terrace. Gets very busy so book in advance if you plan to sit down! Moretti and Menabrea on tap as well as wine and cocktails.

Our first time here, but it was a booking made by family who had been before. Very impressed by the quality of the food and the great staff. I've not seen 'Salted Doughnuts' on a menu before, but I can thoroughly recommend them as starters - though you may be tempted to say, "actually, just feed me these until I'm full" But that would be a mistake, the pizzas are great too. Not too large, not too small.

Recently visited Cibus for my nephews birthday. From the moment we arrived, the staff were very welcoming and attentive. Service was first class, and the food was delicious. The donut starters are so moreish anyone visiting has to order these!!!!! Menu had a varied choice of dishes. Will definitely visit again, and I will be more adventurous with my food choice (as it was.a 4 year old birthday I had pizza as a main).

Visited Cibus for the first time tonight for ‘tea’ and a chat with an old friend. The welcome was warm, the atmosphere relaxed, the service amazing and the food excellent. All very fresh and obviously made to order. It very quickly became very busy and this is mid week so I guess booking is recommended. We will definitely be back.

We were visiting our son in Manchester and he booked us in at this restaurant. Table was already for us and the staff were very welcoming and attentive. They were happy to advise/recommend food. The doughnut starters were amazing and very moorish. I definitely recommend the Crab risotto it was so flavour some. This has to be one of the best meals we've had in a long time. Hopefully be back when we're next in the area. Book you will not be disappointed.

Visited this place for the first time for lunch after reading all the great reviews - & can confirm they are all true! The food is gorgeous, really fresh & different. The service is outstanding, informative & friendly. Last but not least they serve Pecorino by the glass! What’s not to love. We’ll be joining their fan base!

Went for dinner on a Saturday night, busy, bustling atmosphere with great service and even better food! We had a couple of small plates to start….the caponata and the arancini. Both dishes were delicious with the caponata having just the right balance of sweet and sour and every ingredient in the arancini filling being able to be tasted. My partner loved her home made ravioli which was perfectly al denté and served in a fresh tasting tomato pork ragu. I went for the stuffed porchetta roll, mash, prunes and red wine sauce….again everything was perfectly balanced and left me licking the sauce off the plate! My favourite UK Italian has always been Locanda Locatelli……Cibus is giving it a run for its money! We will be back……and soon!

After visiting twice before last year we took some friends. We were a party of 9 at 8pm. Had to wait 30mins for our table to come free. Waiter service was shocking, had to ask several times for table water, where our was and extra glasses. Considering we booked a month in advance and it was a Saturday night, no specials left, not enough starters or dessert Really disappointing

We have followed Cibus from its pop up days to its unfolding as a restaurant in its own right . This is a jewel in Levenshulme and would be the envy of any other south Manchester eateries . The Cibus experience is the whole deal , the staff are like family , welcoming and warm , which is a refreshing change from the push to order online with little interaction with staff . The food is fresh vibrant and tasty. We love the small plates and had a fantastic lazy sunny afternoon lunch, in the tasteful court yard at the back of the restaurant. We first visited cibus in its new home after a few years moved away from the area - it was a joy to see what was once a hidden gem above Fred’s sitting proud on the main road where it belonged, a chic trattoria amongst Levenshulme’s budding social scene. Expect to be greeted by waiters who are as attentive and charismatic as they are good looking, and if you are lucky you just might catch the main man Giorgio buzzing around serving and pouring, chatting to customers like old friends, that is - if he’s not in the kitchen cooking up the bountiful fare that fills his seasonal menu. This is a restaurant that exists because it has a passion for food like an eternal flame - food is seasonally fresh and inspired by the changing of the months but faithful to its Italian routes. Prepare to forget all you think you know about traditional Italian food and have your mind blown by the likes of whipped salt cod, smoky sweet caponata and ice cold creamy burrata, traditional Italian roast chicken or the plethora of stylish summer ready spritzes concocted to wet your appetite. Today in the summer sun, in their modest and tastefully decorated garden we could have convinced ourselves we were in Sicily in the restaurant you dream of stumbling upon while on holiday. The food and drink at Cibus is rivalled only by something you can’t get anywhere else - the people. Special thanks to Lou for always being a bright shining sunbeam - understanding our tastes and breathing Cibus’ passion for real honest cooking with her recommendations, and making us feel like family coming home each time we dine. It really is the highlight of our month when we can get away to sit down and eat here - don’t delay and believe the hype - we will be back again very soon.

A good friend recommended his local pizzeria so, naturally, I had to check it out. Cibus is very cosy; neither too big nor too small, with romantic lighting and calm, well-chosen decor. We were greeted with warmth and shown to a table very quickly, which is always a good thing (especially when you're hungry!) The well-presented menu had a welcome variety of food under different categories: small plates and treats alongside the usual pizza and pasta. Vegans aren’t left out, with at least two pasta dishes and many small plates to choose from. It’s a menu that seems authentically Italian - ‘trattoria’ vs hipster pizzeria. I ordered a Marinara (not on the menu) and shared the restaurant’s famous ‘salted donuts’; my friend ordered a pizza with bresaola. Chinotto on the side, refreshing as always! The donuts were the star of the show, covered in tangy marinara sauce and a flurry of crispy fried onions. Be warned, however - they’re very moreish!! Our pizzas were a reasonable size, more lunchtime than dinner - perfect for my tetchy end-of-week appetite. The sauce was fantastic - peppery olive oil with subtle herb notes. The garlic was a shade bitter, cutting through the umami hit of the tomatoes, but that’s usually the case! The dough was crisp, the star of the show, with a pillowy crust and an impressive presentation. My only (minor) criticism is that I’m not a fan of olives and didn’t know they’d be on this pizza - but ordering off-menu has its risks! To finish our meal, we shared sips of two spirits: Frangelico and another, sharp and bitter apertif. The Frangelico was sweet, nutty and creamy; the other … quite a powerful acquired taste!! Overall, this was an enjoyable meal. Pricey, I’ll admit, but the service, atmosphere and food quality were high enough to dismiss that... plus, it's always great to see a team as dedicated as this thriving in your community. Cibus is a place you could easily imagine yourself becoming a regular at! Whether you need a warm and convivial date venue or a place for good food and philosophical chat, Cibus is bound to go above and beyond to satisfy.
