I'm so glad we went into this cafe. The drinks were delicious, but the music and singing were what made it brilliant.

Light and airy dining room, with artworks all round the walls. Modest tables with wooden chairs (no cushions), but with comfy sofas in the corners. Service was a tad slow, but the friendly staff warned us food would take about 15 minutes, which proved about right. Soup, panini & cawl were all enjoyed, in good size portions, although some of the meat in the cawl was a bit chewy. Very reasonable prices for good tasty food.

order was missing 2 milkshakes

A lovely place for coffees and lunch. I’ve been here with friends several times and we always have a lovely time. Friends always comment how good the paninis are, while I enjoy the omelette or fish finger sandwiches most. Coffees are wonderful and the overall presentation of everything is great. I enjoy seeing the local art on the walls too. Staff have always been warm and helpful, certainly a place I will visit again.

What a lovely discovery as we stopped on our long journey. Such a warm welcome on a cold, wet, June day. The bacon and cheese losded chips were delicious and great value. Ciao, Ciao is one of those great places where you feel so welcomed as soon as you step through the door.

All day breakfast was customisable and tasty without being too much or too little. Service was friendly and helpful if a little short staffed on the day. Worth trying 😁

As soon as my wife and I entered we were greeted with a hello and a smile, staff were so pleasant, we loved how spacious, CLEAN and homely the cafe felt. Our order was taken swiftly considering it was very busy.. the cafe was full.. people came in and weren’t turning around to walk back out but waiting for a table, clearly we chose the right place for food if people were willing to wait. Our coffees came in good time, and they were hot and tasted great. We ordered main meals and sides and we were impressed with the presentation and portions. Amazing. Food tasted GREAT. You can consider us loyal customers in future and we are looking forward to bringing family here when they visit in the Easter holidays. A very firm 5 stars from me. I certainly look forward to my next visit. I had a chat with the chef (the owner) what a lovely chap, all the best to him and his family. Who in their 2nd year of business are doing terrifically well. I hope they are here in years to come.

Good, freshly cooked food. Nicely presented. Reasonably priced. One of my reasons for going there is that no dogs are allowed...obviously service dogs would be. So many reasons dogs should not be in restraunts.

Went for breakfast and the best vegetarian sausage I have tasted. My husband doubled up on breakfast, and his plate was overflowing.

Ive become a regular at ciao ciao over the past few months and am continuously blown away by the customer service and food quality. The breakfast deal is really good value for money and the coffee is delicious. Would highly recomend!

Overcharged. Also Expensive for a pot of tea £5.50. Toastie was a thinly squashed effort. I won’t be returning.

Found this lovely place by chance after the Carlton closed. I wish I had found this place sooner. Cannot faulter any of it. Service is,of a very high standard, staff very tentitive and the food is,well presented, delicious and you get decent portions so you leave feeling full. 10 out of 10 on all levels. It's, a,credit to Aberystwyth and thank god for a lovely place too eat and drink. Place is,spotless clean and toilets spotless. Compliments too the chef and all front of house staff.

I am (very) coeliac and the staff were helpful about what would be safe to eat. I wasn't at all ill afterwards. Portions are large, café is clean, and staff were helpful and polite.

Clean nice decor staff friendly welcome...Let down was food. A salad of plain lettuce and 2 small pieces of tomato. Quiche was bland. Poor Coffee alone would put me off returning.

Absolutely superb, so great with kids, quickly served with a delicious meal for all! By far, best lunch in town!!

The place was well-decorated and quite clean. The staffs were very nice and friendly. They were very welcoming and care. The price was acceptable for the portion. However, the quality of the food was quite bad. It felt like they just grabbed the instant or semi-instant products from grocery stores and cook them for you.

Such a shame - things have certainly gone down hill since it's changed hands. Mikey's was a great place to go as a family - we visit every year when we holidaying in Aberystwyth. However, when we arrived this year it was a shock to see that Mikey's was no longer, but we thought we'd give them a try anyway. Initial thoughts are that it seems to have lost the warm feel that Mikey's used to have. The decor has changed, as have the tables and the layout. The constantly flickering ceiling lights didn't help either. The serving staff were polite and friendly, but the food took an inordinate amount of time to arrive and it was bland "back street cafe style grub" rather than the hearty home cooked meals that Mikey's used to provide. The staff visited our table twice; once 10 minutes after ordering to tell us that the kids' burger and chips wasn't available as the "burger looked past its best and the chef didn't want to cook it due to his concerns regarding food hygiene". At this point we changed the order to macaroni cheese - 10 minutes later we were visited by the staff again who explained this wasn't available as the chef had just walked out. We then chose a hot-dog just to the meal over and done with as quickly as possible. The food took so long to arrive I had to leave the cafe to go and put some more money on the parking. When I returned my son and I received our hot dogs (this was after my wife and daughter had already finished their meal). The hot dogs weren't actually traditional hot dogs, but rather two breakfast pork sausages served in a dry bun. The serving staff didn't charge us for the hot dogs which was a nice gesture but I'm afraid we'll not be returning any time in the future. I think if you want to survive in the competitive hospitality business then you must do better.

A very reasonably priced restaurant with a good menu and plenty to eat.

We stopped off on a isserable Sunday for a snack lunch. It was excellent. I had bacon quiche, large slice (veg option available) with salad, new pots. My wife had leek & pot soup with roll. with hot choc & coke £19. Given that our friends had just had 2xtuna/mayo rolls + 2xteas for £34 in London, what we had was superb value - and tasty.

Have had a better pizza in a Chinese restaurante 😂. For an Italian place serving Pizza base from asda and not home made is just not acceptable regardless of the £13 price tag. Apparently they only do fresh pizza in the evening, but feel its acceptable to charge the same at lunch time.

Food was just meh, nothing special and definitely isnt authentic Italian. Server was lovely and sweet but the place itself lacks atmosphere and feels empty.

Lovely place run by lovely people, great service and great food. I'll make it a point to visit whenever we're in town, very much recommended.

Very cosy and quiet cafe/restaurant on the day we visited, the service was great, the food on offer was good and somewhat tasty.

Really enjoyed our recent lunchtime visit. Good food, quick and friendly service and a lovely bright uncrowded area to eat in. Particularly enjoyed the lack of loud music which meant our group could talk to each other. Would recommend.

I’d give 0 star review but that’s not possible. Ordered a pepperoni pizza in this “Italian” restaurant and what a disappointment when the base was pre made. We complained to the owner/chef and I never been badly treated in a restaurant before. Avoid this place. Rude owner, overpriced food, pre made base pizza.

Avoid this place as if it has covid The restaurant was empty on a Friday night, while the pizzeria down the road was fully booked the entire weekend. Red flag. Should have paid attention We ordered 2 pizzas in what labels itself an Italian restaurant. Italian pizzas are well known for their neapolitan dough, fresh tomato sauce, and simple toppings. Usually cooked in a wood fired oven The pizza that arrived was nothing like this. The base was shop bought, you can see the perforations on the bottom, a telltale sign. The sauce was not fresh, neither were the toppings. I'd hedge my bets that the entire thing was taken out the fridge and chucked in the oven. When we complained to the (very lovely) waitress, she said the chef was the owner and pre bought the bases as he's on his own in the kitchen. Quite a feat to already be struggling to cope with no demand. We said we'd pay for what we ate (1/2 a pizza) When the owner arived, with his already fragile ego battered, his first comment was that I have a problem with taste. Yes, the problem is, I have good taste. The fragile ego took more of a battering when, upon him commenting he's had no complaints all evening, I looked around the empty room remarking 'clearly!' The aptly named 'ciao ciao' should wave 'bye bye' to being able to compete with any local pizzerias. Avoid.

I always come to Ciao Ciao, when in Aber, for their delicious All-day Breakfast. Excellent food, served by lovely, friendly staff in an exceptionally clean, bright space with plenty of room. If you want a great breakfast, there's no need to look elsewhere 😋 Lunchtime meals are also excellent. I have yet to enjoy the pleasure of an evening meal here, but I look forward to it tremendously

Loved the food - pizza, vege lasagna and pasta all fantastic, but the best part was chatting to Ruby, who was an absolute star!! Would definitely recommend!

I recently came here for brunch and was nervous about bringing 3 lively children. I was pleasantly surprised with how welcoming they were. The food was served hot and within good time, the kids chicken was lovely!!!- As was my cooked breakfast. My children enjoyed their milkshakes and speaking with the one of the owners. I was very happy with my positive experience at the restaurant.

Shame Mikey's is no longer here. This new establishment serves dishes that resemble supermarket ready-meals microwaved and sold at the prices of a much better restaurant...
