I’m going to post this on here for anyone thinking of going to have a meal at the ‘Food Palace’ on whitegate Drive blackpool, don’t bother!!!! Yesterday was my dads birthday so we went just to celebrate there for meal. The starters were ok and hot. However, when the mains came they to say they were substandard was an understatement but not only that it was the absolute diabolical attitude of the waitress who served us that left us with a bitter taste in mouths and disappointment all round. The rice was disgusting thick stodgy and claggy we could not eat it so complained - the waitress said it’s always like this same every time which isn’t true as I’ve had takeout from there many times before and been fine. Then she changed her mind and told us it’s a different rice they have had to order in as usually get it from America 🇺🇸 well that’s obviously contradictory then!! So she had already brought our main course dishes out when she said I’ll bring you noodles instead to which we agreed 👍 and wouldn’t charge us for rice. While our mains are just sitting there going cold and waiting for the noodles to come a second batch of rice came out.!! Not sure why as we’d just agreed to noodles instead? I said to her my meal had gone cold whilst waiting for this to come and the batter on my prawns was now soggy, mum was eating her main on its own!! and dads hadn’t even come out yet! so she took mine away to get a fresh hot prawn one for me so then we are left to eat rice on its own with no mains!!!! wait it gets worse!! Didn’t think it could but it did. So the second batch of rice was not much better but at least edible eventually my salt and chilli king prawn came back and it was so heavy with thick batter on outside and was soggy inside I couldn’t eat it the first batch that went cold was better I’m certain the chef just reheated same one added more batter I ended up having to take out the prawn only inside I couldn’t eat the horrible batter!! So when we went to pay my dad and myself said to the waitress how poor the meal was and it was £76!!! The rice was £12.80 for a small portion to eat in you’d expect it to be at least edible !!! So we said we should not have to pay this full amount as it was dreadful and she had said initially we wouldn’t be charged for rice and as we couldn’t eat 3/4 of it. This was when her attitude changed completely she started to argue with me and my dad about it all she said well you’ve eaten it I said no we haven’t as we have had left over half of it after all this we could not eat it due to all these issues. Jesus Christ we ended up in a heated debate! we told her no wonder the restaurant is always dead inside with an attitude like this she said oh we do fine was busy last last night find that hard to believe always empty when we collect takeout she said she’d have to ring the manager about it he’s not on site as he has a chain of restaurants!! or we can wait till 11pm to talk to him when he comes into restaurant it was 7:30pm at this time! I said are you serious is this a joke ? I said I would never come back here again she said she didn’t care if we don’t come back we were gobsmacked in all my life I have never argued with any serving restaurant staff about a meal like this and my family have never been spoken to like this before over a meal I’m totally and utterly disgusted and fuming as it spoilt my dads birthday meal! Needless to say we are writing on here and I’m letting my friends know! We did get a reduction in the bill in the end but not without an absolute disgrace of an attitude and fighting for it and this should never have happened in first place. This place calls itself a restaurant! And for the extortionate prices nowadays they are charging you’d expect at minimal something you can eat !!! My advice to anyone thinking of going don’t because the food and service was disgusting and disgraceful!!! If I could give us no stars I would but it won’t let you.

Honestly had the best meal here last night with my partners family. So well priced, a beautiful atmosphere and our waitress Fay I believe she was called was incredible. So attentive and lovely! Honestly can’t fault it one bit. Will definitely be returning

Absolutely shocking ordered takeaway was advised 45 and turned up nearly 2 hours later food was inedible rice all dried up and food really stodgy on top of it chips freezing cold and the squid was completely inedible god knows how they can serve it the way it was served to us. No apology off driver for how late the food was and Absolutely shocking customer service. Worst chinese I've been to in Blackpool completely avoid.

We have recently moved to the area and chose Food Palace as our 1st takeaway on the day we moved in. We were delighted and thoroughly enjoyed our meal, no complaints. Fresh ingredients and piping hot, plenty of it too. We have since had another delivery and it was just as good. We will not be using any other Chinese takeaway, the Food Palace is perfect.

I ordered takeaway from here, the food was lovely, they were accommodating to my partner’s onion allergy and also allowed us to order slightly off menu which we appreciated. The additional spring rolls were a lovely surprise.

We've been using this local restaurant for takeaway for several years now, and have always been impressed. Good food and good service.

We had visited Blackpool for the day and called on the off chance there was a table. We arrived and the atmosphere was lovley and relaxing. The food was hot and fresh with great portion sizes and the staff were lovely. Highly recommended.

My husband & I had a weekend at Blackpool & enjoyed a very delicious meal. We was very pleased with everything. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back next time we have a weekend break there.

Went last night with family,the place was empty and had no atmosphere whatsoever.The waitress was capable enough but never smiled once and was unhelpful.The shared starters were dry and my quarter crispy duck was drier still and was tasteless.The curried king prawn I ordered was stodgy and not very nice.Tried to order Irish coffees but was told we couldn’t have them or any coffee due to COVID-19 laws which was ridiculous.Decided then to finish with a brandy each but was told it was too late and brought the imaginary COVID law up again.We used to visit this establishment regularly (under a different name and ownership then)but won’t be returning again.We also thought it was quite pricey compared to similar restaurants.

we ordered mixed starter for 2 and sweet and sour chicken.it arrived very quickly about 10 minutes,obviously had been served precooked,prawn toast was soggy satay chicken had no satay and was dry,sweet and sour chiclen was stodgy and inedible with a horrible bright red sauce

My wife and I had a delicious takeaway from here last night. The mushroom foo yung was fresh and tasty and the beef in blackbean sauce was also excellent. Added to this, the salt and chilli chips and egg fried rice were piping hot and tasty! Highly recommended!

We ordered a good sized order for the 5 of us, it was 1 hr 20 mins still not arrived , we then called twice to see where our order was to be told it is on its way and the boss is out delivering the food, from the time we 1 st called to see where it was it took half hr, 5 min drive and the roads are dead at the minute too so where was it, the food was just warm and had to be put in the microwave, so the battered foods were soggy and chips were dry and like rubber. The boss on delivery did Not want to know at all he just chuttered something and dashed off NEVER AGAIN WILL WE USE THIS SHOP!

We had a wonderful meal at the Food Palace on 23.1.2020. We chose the super buffet at £14.99 fir three courses. Very good value and big portions. All food hot and delicious. Would recommend this restaurant.

tried this place for the first time last night..order came really fast we were impressed!! we ordered mix starter for two... ribs ,seaweed,mini spring rolls,chicken on skewers and prawn toast with a tub of sweet n sour sauce.. the chicken on skewers were rather dry and the prawn toast was rather greasy and not freshly cooked we ended up leaving it..the rest was ok ..we also ordered a crab meat n sweetcorn soup and a chicken and noodle soup ..both were delicious they also sent free salt and pepper wings which were awesome...the mains were prawn balls with sweet n sour ..bit doughy but still nice and a special chow mein a special fried rice and a tub of curry both really tasty ..I'd definitely try it again but prob sweve the mix starter

This is my favourite Chinese place fresh non greasy dishes, always delivered on time. Took me a while to find a good Chinese, tried and tested many other local places. This is leagues above others.

Came here to eat within the last week, place was empty which really rang alarm bells, they were more concerned with their takeaway business than in checking the customers who were eating at the table, the food was not the best we have eaten and some of the portions were not very big the noodle dish which at the end of the day is mainly noodles was very small in comparison to the meat dishes, our son and his partner ordered the set meal , prawn crackers were placed on the table before we had even ordered drinks let alone food we didn't eat them as they looked very greasy and old, and when we asked where the prawn crackers were off his meal we were told these were them, said how can this be when you did not even know what we were ordering ? lady came out and asked if they both wanted rice or a mix of chips and rice , we requested both and were only given rice and when we questioned she said she never even asked us, when her exact words when approaching the table was i need you , and then asked question. her memory might have to do with two things one the concentration on the takeaway side and the second thing the arguing from the kitchen, although i dont speak there own native tongue it was very clear this was a heated argument, especially as the poor waitress didn't know what to do with herself, we wont be eating here again and wont be recommending this place either

Once again party at food palace staff as usual friendly and very attentative couldnt have better service food excellent as it always is for those that have the buffet or set menus please go to main menu selection is excellent and portions are enough for 2 so ideal for sharing sui mai and dim sum fantastic this place cant be

We had a meal early on the Sunday evening. The restaurant was quiet, but welcoming. I had the beef and ginger with rice, my wife had lemon chicken and chips. Everything was very tasty, the beef tender, breast of chicken good quality, lovely chips. Both meals were very good size portions.Best Chinese meal we have had in years. Wish they were in Blackburn.

The food is is excellent. Quite simply the best Chinese food around. Plenty of choice on the menu and at a reasonable price too! Staff are very friendly and accommodating.

I have live in the area for 7 years and when this was chu Phoenix. It was absolutely wonderful. Higher priced than most take aways in blackpool but well worth it.but since it has changed hand( or name)The quality has dropped significantly I took my family here on a few occasions in the past.I work in one of the best restaurants ( Indian) in Blackpool so I know rice.I ordered a Singapore fried rice and curry sauce, that’s it. Nothing spectacular.I got it home . And I live less than 100 yards awayIt was cold soggy mush when I opened it.And as I was hungry I thought I’d try it.One mouthful I spat it out as it tasted of soap/ bleach. Absolutely horrible.I have kept some to report to health and hygiene.Will never go again.As I sad I work in a restaurant this place should be shut down if this is their standard

bought a meal got wrong meal had to pay again for what we wanted. total rubbish. the prices have gone up and the food is not that better. I will go somewhere else next time

Lived in Blackpool two years and tried many Chinese takeaway, (some with a four or five rating?) some was passable others disgusting, so wasn’t expecting anything above average when I ordered from here for the 1st time. Best Chinese I have had since moving here! Definitely recommend and I will be ordering again.

This brilliant Chinese restaurant is nice and local for us and we love it! The food is fantastic and we enjoy eating in the restaurant and also have a takeaway meal on a regular basis. We enjoy it so much we take friends and relatives there. The staff are brilliant, friendly in the extreme. Great value for money too! DandJLancaster

We often eat here, they do an all you can eat buffet which is great value. The food isn't greasy at all which is unusual for a Chinese restaurant. Staff are very friendly and the restaurant is licensed too.

We came here with our grand daughter last Sunday for a Banquet meal. We had been previously under old name, but thought we would give it a go.

Had the belly buster all you can eat banquet with friends visiting. The food was very very tasty and we had plenty of choice . There was more than enough to eat and the service was impeccable. Staff were also very friendly and helpful. We could have ordered more but there was more than enough for £15.99 . The whole bill with drinks for 5 people was less than a £100. Enjoyed it very much , great food , fabulous atmosphere, great service and good friends. Would defiantly recommend a visit and will be returning for more .

The Chicken and sweetcorn soup was excellent.

Got a menu through the door and was impressed to see a whole vegetarian section with faux meats. Was such a nice change to be able to have a take away. Put some veggie options on your buffet menu please please please. Food hot fresh and delicious. First chinese since giving up meat. Very happy.

Cant be beat for value as much or as little as you want as waitress said try belly buster amount but all the food was excellently prepared and presented to a high standard in fact even real duck as apposed to shredded up crumbs most people do today service immaculate a real treat faultless

The best Chinese meal I have ever had food was gorgeous and plentyful well presented and the service was second to none will definitely be going back again

We eat here regularly or have a take away - food always very good quality and good sized portions - haven't eaten from the cooked-to-order buffet menu - we eat off the main menu but even top of menu prices won't break the bank - Staff and management friendly and welcoming. It's our convenient local eatery so we may be a tad biased but friends and family from out of town have also commented most favourably when we bring them here fir a meal.

Decided to give this place a try after falling out with the ignorant bunch at “taste” over the road. Been in here 4 times now and every-time the food has been very good and staff friendly and helpful. The beef in black pepper is excellent and the crispy duck is very very nice. The chilli chips aren’t quite as good as other places but still ok.

Not good Chinese food, slimy tasteless Chinese food that I ended up throwing in the bin. I would not recommend.

This place is literally a minute from our front door. Not tried the buffet (cooked to order), but can definitely recommend the à la carte menu. Very good value for money. Well cooked, high quality food. Very good level of service.

We were a group of four. We had some lovely starters big selection to choose from. Main courses were numerous too the food is very English though rather simplified Chinese, the sauces on two of our dishes were heavy and sweet the others were a bit bland. All in all quite a nice meal but not the best meal in a Chinese we have had, perhaps it was our choices that were at fault.

Chu Pheonix is out of the town centre... And that's a good thing...I have been to Chu's many times as a local resident but never written a review before, so I thought I would.On Sunday evening we had the buffet for 7 people and every single one of us loved the food and the atmosphere. A few of the group were first timers but said they will absolutely be back again and the buffet knocked the socks off any of these "specialist" buffet places that seem to be trendy at the moment.The staff are very approachable, chatted with us but respected out time as well. The buffet covered a broad range of food, soups, starters and mains and every single dish was tasty, hot, and very pleasing on the eye..This rest has been serving the community for many years now and I expect it to be there for many years more.Oh and they do take away... and you can have a pint while waiting for it (Which I do all the time... Double Win !!!)

I am local and often get a takeaway.. but for how much longer ...I find I am increasingly disappointed as time goes on.Lack of imagination / ingrediants There has to be plenty of choice other than green peppers and carrots

Chinese's are hit and miss at the best of times. Have about 1 a month and this is consistently excellent. I had a sit down meal here once and the food was excellent. The staff although friendly lacked a bit of personality. The place lacked a bit of atmosphere. However the food is top banana.

I visited here with my boyfriend and 2 friends on a Saturday night in September. It was fantastic! We didn't pre book and just walked in and we were welcomed and shown to our table straight away. We ordered some starters and mains which came within about 5 mins! We had a sharing platter for 2 and it was huge with big portions. The rice and noodles were served in lovely containers and there was more than enough for 4 hungry adults (we actually left quite a bit of food!) 3 starters, 3 mains, (the chicken curry was delicious and there is easily enough to share main dishes if you don't want a ridiculously huge portion) rice, noodles, prawn crackers and a couple of alcoholic drinks only cost us about £60 in total which I think is great value. A gem of a restaurant in Blackpool! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the restaurant is nicely decorated inside. This would be a great place for a date night, meal out with the kids/family or a celebration meal. I am looking forward to eating here again!

This is a restaurant that my wife and I have visited many times. Nothing is too much trouble, the food is always spot-on. Excellent menu, quick service, and reasonable prices.I can recommend this establishment with total confidence to anyone.They also offer a takeaway service on a local basis. Again, excellent value.

Went here for a meal with friends. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. They were attentive and the service was quick and efficient. The food was to a very high standard and was delicious. We all left full and will definitely be returning.

We ate here recently as a party of 16 as a surprise birthday celebration for a friend. We were seated in a private room hidden away from the main restaurant meaning the surprise was not revealed until the very last second. We opted for the all-you-can eat buffet option. There was plenty of food presented to the table allowing everyone to get their fill of everything they wanted. I was very pleased to note that the all-you-can-eat dishes had changed since my last visit meaning I was able to sample dishes from the menu that I hadn't previously tried. All the food was delicious but my favourite was honeyed chicken which I was experiencing for the first time.....I think I probably had more than my fair share of this!As well as delicious food, the staff at Chu's are lovely and exceedingly accommodating. My daughter is vegetarian meaning a lot of the all-you-can-eat food is not suitable for her; Chu's were very happy for her to choose alternatives from the menu that she could eat and presented her with her own dishes along with ours. Having visited Chu's a number of times over a period of 8 years I can honestly say I have never been disappointed. Excellent, as always.

As a Blackpool local we regularly attend Chu's as a family. I am surprised it is so low on the list on Tripadvisor but I suspect that is entirely due to it being located in a residential area so I though I ought to post a review to correct that. The menu offers a great selection and the All you can eat buffet during the week is great value, however we have also visited at weekends as the price is still reasonable. The restaurant is spotlessly clean and food is outstanding.

Excellent service with absolutely first class service. Indeed it sometimes seemed like there was no pause at all between courses.Absolutely ideal for lunchtime business people I would have thought.

We have been here on a number of occasions and the food is always lovely and always great service as well as being very cheap!! Although, our most recent visit food and price was exceptional as always however, received some very rude treatment off staff. Including watching over us whilst we ate and also looking unsatisfied when we entered and exited the restaurant. This has put us off returning in future.

Phenomenal in every aspect service, food, atmosphere and quality. The wine is nice and is complimentary to all food. Others may say oh it was to noisy or the bartender wasn't that friendly but they aren't really complaints so I would say it's a no-brainer. The buffet is also great value.

We have only ever had takeaway from here. We love their food - won tun soup, king prawns and noodles. Their wandering dragon is so delicious. Sometimes the egg fried rice has too much egg in it for our daughters liking but we find it good quality and good value.

Visited for a family celebration and indulged in the 'Buffet'. Choice was very limited and what turned up was not good quality. The soup lacked taste and was very watery. We were given a selection of starters, small spring rolls, chopped up ribs, duck and pancakes, prawn toast and crispy chicken. All were ok apart from the ribs, they hardly had any meat. We were then brought a selection of main meals. The chicken curry was like chicken gravy, no spice and no flavour. One of the other mains, beef in oyster sauce contained 6 pieces of beef for 6 people, not a good portion. Overall, for the price, the meal was not worth it. There was also no atmosphere. The Chus in Lytham is 10 times better.

When I read bad reviews for here I wonder where they have been eating,never had a bad meal in all the years been visiting here,grandchildren wouldn't go anywhere else for a Chinese Meal.Staff always attentive and courteous,a very friendly place

Spotted this restaurant on Google during our Blackpool getaway. The place was nice but seem to be a bit small for a restaurant. However, they have a variety of foods to offer. I first ordered Crab Meat and Corn Soup while my bf ordered Chicken and Corn Soup. As for our main dish we ordered Beef with Mushrooms and Sweet & Sour Chicken. Per serving is big enough for 2 people. The rice as well was so nice.The sweet lady who served us was so nice and attentive. She even took a photo of us while eating with my phone.Overall the foods are nice. The place is clean. The staffs are attentive. Highly recommended when in Blackpool.

Fab food fab staff very friendly and attentive if ever in Blackpool this Chinese is a must very clean and very good seating. Food was served quickly and drinks refilled without a wait. Loved chatting to the man in charge even though he said I shouldn't be eating my partners mint as id not had coffee. Hahaha really good night thanks

We decided to try Chu's Blackpool restaurant for a takeaway as we have used its lytham one before.We choose from an extensive menu and decided on ribs and satay chicken along with some seaweed for starters and it was scrumptious. The mains were king prawn curry along with fillet Cantonese and chilli beef with sides of fried rice and noodles.We ordered and collected within 30 mins and price was good.The best takaway Chinese in Blackpool by far but it is a restaurant so I shouldn't be surprised.

Waiter at the bar was so rude, banging drinks down, seemed stressed although we were the only party in (party of 21 on hen night) . Same waiter took our food order but wouldn't let anyone see the buffet menu, so got a strop on, as people kept asking what was on the main course. I asked where my soup was after everyone else had started theirs, so another rude outburst from said waiter who then thought it was good customer service to swear at me under his breath, which was overhead by one of our party. The food was bland, lukewarm, and mediocre, drinks expensive, and have never come across such bad customer service in my life. Would definitely NOT recommend to anyone.

Had a takeaway from here last night . Chips smothered in salt beef was like shoe leather and the egg fried rice was boiled rice with scrambled egg, it certainly wasn't fried and wasn't worth the money we paid . Won't be going there again

Have been eating as this restaurant for at least 5 years now and have never had a bad experience. The food is always perfect and the service is great. Would definitely recommend the hot and sour soup

We were welcomed when we came in and shown to a table. The food was lovely all tasted really fresh. The portions are massive though so don't have a big lunch before you go! Table service was really good and good value for money can't fault the place.

Party of 25. The bar staff banged drinks down on the counter and actually walked away after only serving half the people waiting at the bar. Complete lack of awareness of waiting customers. As for the food, three of us just could not eat our main courses. My 'steak' could be described as a spongy red meat that actually made you feel sick, I genuinely had to just stop eating it after 2 mouthfuls. My friend ordered crispy shredded beef and all it seemed to be was deep fried fat...there was definitely no meat in there. Another member of our party could not eat her duck as, again, all it seemed to be was fat. After complaining the three offending mains were crossed off our bill...we declined the offer of a replacement dish. A fourth dish, my wife's chicken, seemed bleached reformed chicken meat that was mushy (but nowhere near as bad as the steak!) The rice was rubbery. I would never ever ever ever ever eat here again. Unbelievably this place gets some good reviews, a member of my party said it is his favourite place to eat and that the mixed meat curry is his favourite dish ever. Londo not understand this, the food is truly awful! I can accept customer service that falls short of the mark on a busy Saturday night with a full restaurant and busy take away business running alongside. It is the standard of food that is the real problem with this place....think Turkey twizzers in the school kitchen and you are getting somewhere. Imagine chicken slurry packed into a hard spongy mass and served on your plate and you're getting closer to understanding how bad it is. I am honestly really not sure what that red meat served up to me last night was but it did not resemble any steak (or cut of beef) that I have eaten before. this place presents itself with some nice signage and well presented menus but these are just smoke screens for the very poor quality / cheap food that they are serving up to you.

We visited tonight food was gorgeous, service super and speedy. We had all you can it Buffet the food was freshly cooked and plentiful. Will definitely return again very soon.

On arrival things seemed ok although I could not help noticing the place was empty now I know why I was served at the bar by possibly the rudest man I've ever met slamming things about I was presented with a tin of "multipack not for re sale coke" and a glass with no ice even though I asked for it and the tin was still sealed shut obviously too much trouble to open it .sat down at table and ordered my food starters came out in under 5 minutes so had obviously been re heated and on tasting I could tell it was the spring rolls were mediocre as was the ribs the prawn toast was soggy not really what id expect for a £12.50 share platter for two . My main course arrived which was special fried rice the only thing special about it was the amount of time it took to locate any meat in it rice was dry and over cooked with frozen prawns I had also ordered crispy beef which tasted like burnt beef scratchings as it was deep fried beef fat .My advice AVOID !!

Just what the doctor ordered on a cold night didn't feel like coming out but soon glad I did friendly staff a warm welcome fantastic food as always and value for money 5 star

I have dined here a couple of times before and enjoyed both food and service,but tonight very poor and seems like they are running on a budget with food ok but drinks very average.(service good)This maybe small thing but the picture on the wall at our table was hanging out of the frame,simple I know but means so much to the experience.

I ordered a takeaway last night. The prawn toast was dry overdone and looked like it was left over from night before. The salt and chill chicken wings tasted like they had been reheated a couple of times. Salt and chilli prawns were hard over cooked and chewy. Satay chicken as tough as old boots and no sauce. Chicken curry as bad the rice was ok. The worst take away I've ever had a complete waste of thirty three pound. Never again.

I came to Chu Phoenix as a party of 8, we booked the table for 8pm on a Tuesday evening. The restaurant was very quiet, however far from the staff being more attentive they seamed intent on rushing us from the moment we sat down. We were rushed into choosing the Buffett, we did not get a chance to see the full Buffett menu as the waiter simply took the paper from us and scribbled 8 over every course. The staff were continually hawking round our table and swiping plates the minute we put our forks down. The food was of average quality nothing amazing. When we received our main course it was clear they wanted us to go home, a female member of staff put her coat on and started walking round the restaurant gangling her keys- it was only 9.45ish. Very rude staff -very disappointed. We will not be returning and recommend you don't either.

We eat here on a regular basis during the week they offer a buffet banquet for £14 great value , everything brought to table hot and appetising , presentation always good and always plenty of taste which is hard to find with the majority of Chinese restaurants in blackpool!! Service always good staff very friendly!! If I were to have one pointer I would suggest mixing up the menu on offer with the buffet banquet doesn't seem to vary week on week , but a great place to fine and would recommend

Just had a buffet and choice of food wasnt great food was ok but not the best if u go here order main menu foods not buffet

We have used this restaurant for Take Away's a few times and never been disappointed, their Duck Dim Sum is fab, the best Plum sauce I have had in a long while, the Singapore noodles are very good and also the sui mai, flippin yum.Its not he cheapest in town but you know what they say 'You get what you pay for'Highly recommended, give it a whirl next time you fancy a Chinese

This weekend we took take away food from this restaurant. Restaurant situated along the busy White gate drive, parking bit of problem on a weekend evening. Beautifully decorated clean restaurant. We ordered Special mix noodles, Chicken noodles, Singapore vermicelli, Egg fried rice, Roast pork with mushroom and salted chilli chicken. Bit of expensive, but dishes worth for the price. All dishes enjoyed by our whole family. Worth a try!

Loads of colleagues and friends had mentioned how good it was and they were spot on. The sauces taste freshly made and actually have some flavour to them and the meat used is fresh rather than frozen which is rare. Starters such as ribs and their amazing chilli salt chicken wings are freshly made instead of the usual frozen stuff quickly fried that you normally get in Chinese. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed..... Unless you like bland 'normal' takeaway!

We decided to order a takeaway from Chus Pheonix Blackpool believing it to be a fine takeaway we didn't mind spending the extra cost as opposed to other takeaways. However the food arrived and it wasn't up to much at all….the chicken was that of the processed type… the beef was like rubber… the best bit of all was the chips…. WE WILL NOT BE USING AGAIN.

I've been a few times now. Once for my birthday and it was brilliant I'm so glad I had my birthday there. The food is always nice . The Staff are nice also. A must try.

I went here with friends for the all you can eat buffet. The food was excellent value for money and the service was great. I saw the 'famous' grumpy waitress, but all the other staff were lovely. I have to agree with other reviewers that the ribs were a bit gristly, but apart from that no complaints. I would definitely go back!

I have driven passed this restaurant thousands of times during my work as a Blackpool cabbie, I have also picked up and dropped of passengers numerous times here. Out in Blackpool for the afternoon doing a bit of the tourist scene decided to eat here with my wife and younger daughter (21). What a good shout. Do not be put off by its location, it's nowhere near the tourist trap of the prom, or town centre. Inside the decor is fantastic, you just know your in a Chinese restaurant by its authenticity. The staff were professional, helpful and pleasant providing an outstanding service. This was more than matched by the standard of food provided. We had multiple dishes all of which were superb. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. Well done Chu's Pheonix, we will definitely be returning.

Cannot explain how amazing the food was! We had the buffet and there was lots of it all tasting amazing. I'm not a fan of soups but the mushroom and noodle soup was out of this world. We asked for more duck and pancakes and they brought us very quickly without any problem, they even brought more sauce and cucumber and spring onions without having to ask. The service was excellent and both waiters who serves us were fantasic and friendly. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone and will deffinately be going again, just excellent xx

After reading some of these reviews I was not expexting to much..but o was pleasantly surprised. . A group of four of us went for our sons 15th birthday.. we had the buffet and after just the big bowl of soup we all knew we would be struggling to finnish the meal and we still had starters and the main to go.. the staff where very friendly men and women the food was plentiful the table next to us was repeatedly ordering more food and the staff where very happy to supply ...as for us we honestly could not eat the amount we had. ...I must admit this is not the best Chinese I have had but you really could not complain as it was all very edible and the amount you got for what you pay was well worth it ...my only tip to those odd people out there is if you are going for a all you can eat buffet for 14 pound... you are not goong to get top quality resturant food you are going to get a resturant with a nice atmosphere ...nice staff...and a plentiful table of food

Been here before great Chinese restaurant but this time tried their buffet which is extra good as thye serve everything to the table.no lines to wait in no warm food everything cooked fresh to table absolutely brilliant and great value

Been here quite a number of times and the food quality is excellent, as are most of the staff. However, the past two visits I have opted for the all you can eat buffet, they leave a sheet on the table which asks how many portions of each item you would like. No matter how many you put, they always will just put one portion of each item chosen on the table, even if all of your party want the same thing, leaving some to pick at the remains - the staff are reluctant to serve anymore, we didn't dare ask. Certainly not an all you can eat buffet, would pay half the price for the portion sizes on offer, could probably have ordered all dishes on their own for a cheaper price. That said however, the food was nice. Also, we asked for drinks with no ice, and so they were served lukewarm, not to be expected of a restaurant!

This restaurant is a firm favourite with our group of friends. I am not a great lover of Chinese food but I always enjoy my meals here. The buffet is good value and there is a good choice of dishes on the a la carte menu. Service is friendly and efficient and the restaurant has a great ambience. Highly recommended for a great evening out with high quality food.

This place is a real gem in the heart of Blackpool! These venue is great and service is fantastic! High quality food and amazing flavours! We keep returning with friends and think it is really good value for such great quality! Definitely recommended!

Been here quite a few times over last year, the buffet menu is changed regularly and can be a little hit n miss for me as I'm quite fussy, this time though they excelled themselves, I loved everything, the soup, the duck and salt n pepper wings, honeyed chicken, spring rolls, need I go on. Also house wine is very good, the decor is lovely, and the two male waiters are very pleasant, however as many other reviewers have mentioned the female member of staff can be very surly, it's as if she doesn't want you to have any extra though it is an eat all you can buffet. It was still an excellent meal though

Have dined here on many occasions over the years and been very happy but can honestly say I will be hard pushed to go back in a hurry after tonight. Arrived with a party of 20 at 6pm and was nearly an hour later before we were brought out the soup for the 'EAT ALL YOU CAN BUFFET'. No complaints on the food at this time just how long everything was taking as the place wasn't very busy.Onto the starters which again took another hour before they came out. The ribs are nothing like they used to be. Small fatty examples with more gristle than meat, with crispy (dry) battered chicken strips, not the salt & pepper chicken wings like on previous visit's. Only saving grace was the duck pancakes. After the first round of starters were quickly polished off, we asked for more ribs, chicken and duck. Ribs (smaller portions) were begrudgingly brought out in dribs and drabs but no sign of the chicken or duck despite repeated polite reminders. Kept being told we had mains to come which would have been ok if we had been given the second round of starters and felt like staff thought if they left us to it we would get fed up of asking. 2 hours in and all we had been given was soup and very little else. For an 'EAT ALL YOU CAN BUFFET' the service was dreadful and the attitude of staff was ' if we ignore them long enough they will get tired of asking;. By the time the mains came at 8.30pm I'd lost any interest in eating, the kids especially, one of the main reasons for going early and certainly felt the £13.95 each I was charged for the small amounts of poor quality food extortionate.
