Churchill's Restaurant in Lincoln

I came yesterday at 8:30AM for breakfast and this place was closed, even though it says it opens at 8am!! Wasn't happy

Food was of reasonable quality and of large quantities. However, it was barely warm. Nice engaging staff with good skills, I think the kitchen let them down.

Great food great atmosphere. Music not too loud and staff are friendly. Would definitely recommend. I'll be back next week!

We had a breakfast and avocado chicken salad and they were lovely. Really enjoyed and glad we picked here as there is a lot of choice. We will go back if we go to Lincoln again.

Says it closes at 5pm...walked in at 3.45pm and was shouted at saying they were closed...don't know a business who would turn away customers

Been here a few times, always made welcome by the friendly staff, great menu and great coffee.

Nice food, reasonably priced. Coffee OK but pouring cream with coffee would have been nicer than milk.

Really nice place on the high street. We went for breakfast. My partner had the veggie one and had the classic. Very good.

The attitude of waitresses was very bad.

Look, not trying to be a Karen but here’s where you’ve lost my custom. I order breakfast, I get cold beans. I say I’m not trying to be that guy but can I get some hot beans, don’t even need to clear them off my plate. Proceed to get fresh beans completely steaming like lava, wasn’t able to eat them after 10 mins as still burn to the mouth hot and I had to go work. Mentioned it to the server, she was just uninterested in general and said nothing in reply… paid anyway as that’s the right thing to do. Just tiring, taking things personally. poor service. Won’t give you 1 star because I don’t think the place is bad. Disappointed.

I love coming here for a nice meal in the afternoon with my partner, the food is great quality and always filling. As far as im aware this is the only proper English cafe in lincoln and being in here feels like im back down south in one of the regulars

Always a favourite place to go when out shopping as a family. Traditional English restaurant with plenty of vegetarian options at reasonable prices. Cheerful staff, comfortable seating, clean, fast service.

Always pop in for a breakfast whenever visiting the city, great service & great food.

Really nice lunch today here ; food was top quality and well presented. Only visited Lincoln for the day but if we return , would definitely eat here again.

The best burger I have ever had and the chips are a good size and you get plenty, the coleslaw is a bit meh but the ketchup you get is delicious and very moreish great little place

My friend and I had a pot of tea for two and I had a delicious home made scone with jam and cream it was very nice and the staff are wonderful.

Great little place for a coffee

Absolutely spot on, lovely little place, where can you get a full English of that standard these days,, absolutely nowhere, usually full or cheap sausages etc poorly cooked, but not here, quality goods cooked to perfection,, 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼

Bacon pancakes & maple syrup 😋 Pot of tea for one was probably the best tea in Lincoln, two teabags in pot made for a nice strong cuppa 👌

I'm a slave where a lot of people opt for Costa, Starbucks, or Greggs, this place holds its own. Indoor and outdoor seating, it was busy and we were served quickly, food and coffee were good and the cafe was clean.

First time I use it and yes very nice I would go again 🙂 10/10 nice staff in there too .

Enjoyed lunch which was tasty. Set us up to do more shopping.

The staff were simply amazing and welcoming, great with dealing with allergies, very customer conscious and polite. Was a lovely atmosphere and amazing food. 100% would recommend.

Fantastic all day breakfast which comes with toast, black puddping, mushrooms, beans, egg, bacon, sausage and hash browns all freshly cooked to order.

Great gluten free full English breakfast available here and a really nice atmosphere.

Avocado Salad consists of salad leaves, cucumber, tomatoes, red onion all for £9.00. The Avocado was the worst thing I've ever tasted. It was mashed, watery and slimey with a very weird taste. It was all over my salad. I couldnt eat it, when I mentioned it to the server she assured me that the avocados are fresh on the day. She offered me another and bought it over on a small plate, this time it had been sliced, the plate was warm and so was the Avocado, I took a taste and it was just as awful and spat it out. So when they say fresh they mean frozen then defrosted in the microwave. Frozen,watery,slimey with a funky taste. As apposed to soft and creamy with a nice subtle taste. It's a very simple thing to get right. Needless to say I will not be returning. No apologies from the server that seemed more interested in her mobile phone, and when we left, the member of staff that had prepared the thing was front of house and he didn't say a word.

Food was amazing as always. Was clean and tidy and wasn't busy at all. We have been to Churchill a few times but this time was a bit disappointing. The woman that served us, it was clear she didn't want to be there. Her mannerisms and attitude came across rude and as if we were the inconvenience for coming in. The food was amazing, and the woman served us as expected but a smile makes a big difference.

Churchill's is a bit of a staple when I come to Lincoln to visit my sister. The service is always fantastic, and the breakfast options are great (especially when it's a "morning after the night before" kind of situation 😂)

Amazing, full gluten-free breakfast - including sausages and toast. Definitely recommend.

A coffee and baguette for one person. Lovely staff, friendly and fast service. There are tables both inside and outside.

Walked in with partner went upstairs and sat down,order was taken quickly tea and a full English Breakfast tea arrived pretty quickly unlike the actual Breakfast sat for nearly an HOUR waiting for it eventually asked waitress who said we are busy 10 mins later arrived was ok but not worth the wait no info given that food would take a while spoilt my whole day out will never go to the cafe again One other thing Old people struggling to get upstairs to loo should have one downstairs 🙄 😒

Came here today, and the staff are so miserable; the lady who served us did not even look at us when taking our orders, and were on their phones behind the counter, which is unprofessional. We both ordered breakfasts, the food was OK, although it went cold quick and cutting my tomato was like trying to chisel into a rock. Will be sticking to Stokes Highbridge Cafe from now on.

I visited this location a couple of times for breakfast during my stay in Lincoln and was extremely impressed with the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff. I highly recommend this location for anyone looking for a great breakfast experience.

Really good food but service excellent.

My meal was very good. The toilets were very clean. My only complaint was the food came on a piece of wood which made it very hard to cut any food without it sliding off. It may be trendy but useless.

Quick to serve. Lovely chips. Clean. Fairly quiet for a Friday? I just hate it when they bring your food on a narrow board! Only been here once as out of my area, and I usually only give my thoughts after a few visits so can't comment long term.

Alway brilliant food and friendly service and atmosphere

First time eating here and it was a pleasant surprise to find this place. The restaurant itself has a very traditional look to it and has a nice cosy interior with plenty of seating. The full works deal is a tenner for a full english and a hot and cold drink so very happy with the price. The front of house staff were very helpful and accommodating and the wait was about twenty minutes also so no complaints there. The beans were a little cold but other than that everything else about the full english was bang on, I could however hear a lot of noise and shouting from the kitchen upstairs perhaps the place could benefit from a bit of music in the restaurant 😂 I could definitely see myself coming again 👌🏼

Full breakfast was well prepared and delicious.

Fabulous food. Quick service & attentive waitress'. I had the salmon & cream cheese bagel, so much salmon :D! My partner had the full works which includes orange or apple juice and a hot drink! Hash brows were delicious and crispy. We have definitely found our new go to breakfast/brunch cafe!

This is a real shame I have to do this... Went into order for lunch time, happily gave my order for a hot drink and a breakfast meal, once ordered, waited for 45 minutes and got no service or updates about my order. During these 45 minutes, 2 other groups order the same coffees and the same breakfast meals, and were given their order way before mine. Never coming back!

Food was mid af Geography and atmosphere are okay Waitress seemed like she wanted to be anywhere but work. Deadpan and moody as, kinda ruined the whole thing.

sat down and ordered, 45 minutes later and the four tables around us that sat down after us got their food first - no different than ours, full english breakfasts. when we asked where our food was, the lady said they were busy and would be 2-3 more minutes. 10 minutes later and we are still waiting.

Negatives: Coffee and juice took entirely too long to come after our breakfast was ordered. (Around 10 minutes) Ordered a coke and a chocolate milkshake, was told I can't have a chocolate milkshake, not because they were short of ingredients but simply because "We are too busy to make one." Laughable considering there were two servers stood at the till chatting and eating. Positives: Seated fairly quickly eventhough they were busy, brilliant! Order was taken quickly Food came fairly quickly and the breakfast was spot on!

Went in for a late breakfast, food was quite good for the price, but the menu wasn’t great for veggies. The main issue was how dirty the cups, teapots and plates were. Was really unpleasant looking in my drink and seeing stuff floating in it

What a lovely place! They made us feel so welcome after being turned away by 3 places with excuses like no tables for 2 yet let table for 4 in afterwards, no chef and we’ve haven’t got what you want, you’ll have to wait thirty minutes and we’ll serve people before you for your order… all very rude. So finding Churchill’s was an absolute godsend, brilliant and friendly service, lovely food, lovely surroundings and nice clean place that was comfortable welcoming and felt safe. When we’re in Lincoln again we’ll definitely be visiting again, thank you

Happy smiling staff. Good choice on menu. I had a Farmhouse salad which included fresh ham and pate. Delicious.

We ate a wonderful bunch consisting of 2 regular breakfasts,1 large breakfast, and a cheese omelette plus hash browns.We also had 4 orange juices and tea's and coffee.The service was excellent and the the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this to anyone who who wants a great cafe in the Lincoln area.

Been looking for a decent vegetarian all day breakfast for a while now and finally found one that didn't disappoint at Churchill's. Tasty food, hearty portions, great value. The staff were also really helpful and accommodating.

Fast service but a limited and simple breakfast menu.

Our first visit and really liked the food. I just had the beef burger with the chips and coleslaw. Basic meal but very very tasty, and the bun didn't fall apart either which is a novelty. My husband had the lasagne and enjoyed his too. I knew he did because I didn't hear a peep from him until he had finished. Clean tidy with lovely staff. In a beautiful city as well 👍🤓

We walked in to see how busy they were. We needed to meet our son at the train station and come back. They kindly held a table for us. There were few vegetarian options that ended up being available on the day. This could have been to the shortages post Brexit

Stopped here for lunch on Saturday after finding the menu at the Botanist limited. The menu here was far better but after waiting 10 mins for someone to come up and take an order I left.
