Food was listed as "out for delivery" 35 minutes before it arrived (luke warm, at best). I am less than a mile from the origin. By the time I was halfway through the chips, they were inedible due to being too cold.

Ordered delivery the chips were not cooked through cold and soggy, fish (cod)wasn't even warm, onions rings are ridiculously big with no flavour and the onions tasted old, considering how much they charge the food was absolutely disgusting, and couldn't eat it so a complete waste of money Will not be going there again, and would not recommend to anyone

Excellent service, excellent food, But no matter the shop name, for 50 years odd, as far back as I can remember, it's always been the best chippy. And the meal deals make it an affordable treat. Portions are big too, we know to be hungry 😁 (Sawston branch)

I ordered on Chicken Wednesday and the southern fried chicken was lovely, juicy, and delicious! A nice portion of chips and everything was still hot when it arrived. The only flaw was there was no vinegar on the chips. Still the best go-to chippy!

I love getting from this chippy! the chicken burger was perfect, unfortunately my usual order wasn't the best. the 3pc sfc was 2 dry chunks of breast meat & 1 small dry leg, all underseasoned. Usually its very juicy & well seasoned so I think it was just a bad batch. the chips were a good portion but oil soaked this time & not as crisp as the usual. I'd still return hoping it was just an off night.

Not happy ordered on just eat the other day and it all came cold .Disappointed .Thanks for your reply but what can you do for me as I spent about 25pounds .I tryed this place again recently to see if it got better nope. The sizes are stupid I ordered two large chips more like to small chips. In one large chips there was about 15 chips really not on something needs to be done .large chips more like Childs small size

Definitely the best fish that I've had in years.. Consistent every time... 👌 fantastic staff, well mannered and courteous an absolute treat to go to. Love it.

Food good but 1 portion of chips missing

Food was good but what is going on with this place. Prices go up and portions get smaller. The chips portions is day light robbery. You seriously need to have a rethink. Your food is nothing special, so i dont understand why you would think people are happy to pay more for less. If it was decent that would be another story but its just over priced and bland.

Don’t know wots goin on but don’t order large chips u only get a small portion for the price the kebab van gives u loads they the best always queues up there

I visited the shop last Tuesday, the staff were friendly and there was a large selection. I only order curry sauce and chips but this was excellent even though it was near the end of the night around 9pm. Chips were fresh and curry sauce was 10/10. Will definitely go for this again!

Went into the chip shop and the walls were nice and clean, the staff were very presentable there was a nice selection of fish and chips( very handy). Would highly recommend, clean and tidy and the food was delicious 👌🏽👈🏽

Ordered via a food app, ordered on Saturday, and screaming hot food, really quick delivery and genuinely decent fish n chips. Curry sauce was banging too. Will return!

Overpriced, undersized and generally not very good. The young lady serving completely forgot that salt and vinegar exist. Wish I'd seen the other reviews first. They clearly don't care about how disappointed their customers are. How is this place still in business? Fortunately, they can copy and paste that my 'feedback will be passed to the Operations Manager' 😄 Definitely won't be back.

They started off so well but I guess nothing changes. It was busy but the server was just rude. The portion size for a large chips was ridiculously small, wish I could post a picture because it is laughable.

Really disappointed in the portion sizes. Used to highly recommend Churchill’s Sawston. Paid nearly £24 for two large cod and one large chips and although they were tasty, the portion sizes are much smaller than they used to be. If what we had was large, then a fish finger must be the small. Don’t go here if you’re hungry. Please also update your board to what is actually available.

Chip shop that doesn't deliver chips ordered a burger and chips burger came fine. Missing a crucial ingredient the chips. Tried calling to find out after 6 mins of ringing get put through to the head office which of course is closed. How can a chip shop forget their main ingredients chips. .

Best local chip shop. Would recommend pre ordering from the App as it gets busy at times. Never too greasy, and I just love the curry sauce.

45 minutes late and cold. This is a fish and chip company, how difficult can it be?

We've had take away from here quite a few times and always been happy until this evening. Portion sizes for the chips were tiny. My son's l kids meal had more chips then an adults fish and chips. Really disappointing and we all were still really hungry afterwards. Can't imagine we'll be back in a hurry.

Food never fails to dissapoint. Sawston deserves better. Heven knows what the awards are for. Saffron walden has two amazing fish and chip shop, both wipe he floor with Churchills.

I ordered a cheeseburger & chips & large cod with chips got no chips with the cheeseburger & hardly any chips with the cod won't be ordering again .

What’s going on with the portions?! Ordered a large portion of chips, which at most Chippy’s is enormous, and it was absolutely tiny! I dread to know how small the regular portion is! Paid £4.49 for what looked like one potatoes worth of chips! The chips themselves tasted fine but please sort out the portions!

Late delivery of food and it was lukewarm at best

Large portions of chips are no larger than standard, which is small anyway. Last week they switched some of order with another order so we were down one meal. Emailed with photos to point out the mistake and no response. It used to be pretty good, but all the staff are really young and overwhelmed. Won't be going back.

Very tasty only one small complaint I ordered a gherkin expecting one off those large sweet gherkins got 2 smaller ones that where a bit sharp .

It was very quick! But unfortunately the order that was delivered was wrong. We ordered 5 piece chicken meal and only 3 pieces came.

My food arrived an hour and 40 minutes after I ordered. The food was cold and the sauce was spilled.

Curry sauce lid wasn’t on properly and the pot was upside down so spilled out everywhere all over the rest of the items. Ended up without curry sauce with my chips which was the main thing I wanted for my dinner.

Went in here tonight for the first time . I ordered one small chips and one large. The chips were absolutely awful, did not taste like how chip shop chips should. Didn't even put salt and vinger on them and then charge me £7.80!. Wow rip off. Will never use these again , how they are still going with them prices I never know!

Usually we enjoy food from here, and delivery has been very quick in the past, tonight however it was over an hour after ordering that the food turned up - I know Friday nights can be very busy. But the food was warm at best. Portion sizes were disappointing also, my regular sized battered sausage and chips had the same amount of chips as the kids meal. The batter on the sausage tasted old but my partner and daughter enjoyed their cod. For the prices charged it's not acceptable. I'm hoping it was just a busy night and because of that standards slipped. We will try again because like I've said we have had great meals from here in the past.

Ordered large cod and large chips,cod cooked nice chips nice , but a very very small amount of chips not enough for 2 x85 year old people ,usually get more in a standard amount elsewhere. If you like chips be aware .

Please tell driver how to get to Babraham- yet again it was cold and how does he get here via a roundabout? Ice cream partly melted yet again. Do not follow sat nav - sends you to science park.

Had a few cod and chips from here. Comes well presented in a cardboard box. Apart from one occasion where the standard was mediocre (but no worse than other chip shops), this was at a busy time On other occasions its been delicious. You can't get better than Churchill's. Beats all other chippies for miles and miles around. Proper old fashioned fresh Fish n Chips! We bypass our local chippy to come to Churchill's, a 9 mile drive.

Haven't been here since this place was fish'n'chick'n.. but my god it's gone downhill. It was never amazing in the first place, but since this new crowd took over, it's even worse. Chips were burnt on the outside, but were still almost raw on the inside. How can a chippy mess up chips this badly? Insanely expensive for what you get. Such a shame. A new franchise that can actually cook food properly is well and truly needed to replace this poor excuse of a fish and chips shop. The 3.4/5 rating is definitely from piggy-backing the reviews from fish'n'chick'n.

Very expensive, skin still on battered cod even though it didn't taste fresh and had flat chewy batter. It was the driest and least flavourful fish I've had in a decade. £13 for medium cod and large chips is barely enough for 1 person. Chips were stodgy and undercooked

Food arrived hot & earlier than expected so drinks were still ice cold! everything was lovely. Sfc was well seasoned and chicken burger was delicious. Only thing was the salt & vinegar was missing from one chips & vinegar missing from other chips. Otherwise perfect & tasty always our go to chip shop 😋

Burger was over done and Luke warm but the chips was still very hot hot they might of cooked the burger to early before the chips were done delivering was early but overall not to bad.

Lovely gluten free fish and curry sauce good portion and piping hot. The chips were a bit sparse, rattling around in the box a bit cold and hard which is unusual for Luck of the draw I guess, usually good portion and hot. Definitely will still order as my favourite chipshop

We ordered our food separately as we don't eat at the same time, we are paying for delivery each time, the delivery driver started complaining and swearing at my friends son when he answered the door to get his delivery. I've complained to the manager. If she doesn't like her job maybe she should leave.

Delicious,but today was a small portion of chips in comparison to normal regular size, and curry sauce was only half full. It's not normally like this though so must be an off night, was still delicious and hot though

Really disappointed, I ordered a medium cod and chips to be delivered to 1.5 miles....cost me £18.44, thought this would be worth it....when it arrived it was a tiny portion that didn't surfice...and a extortionate price, never order again

Very expensive for what you get.

This place is my go-to for good food. Their burgers are top tier (hands down best in Cambridgeshire), fish is always cooked to perfection, chips are mouthwateringly delicious, and their menu is pretty substantial for a fish and chip shop. Delivery is always on time, and the food gets to you pretty warm. The staff are absolutely lovely too especially the two delivery drivers, always polite and friendly. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a decent take out meal.

Way too expensive, portions ways too small.

Good choice of food, albeit a little dear. Plaice and chips, burger and chips and sausage and chips, with curry sauce came to around £30. Maybe that's just the going rate these days, and I'm the one out of touch!

Small portions. "Large Chips" in any other chip shop is enough for 2 or 3 people. Here it's more like a small or medium sized portion. Of all the things a chip shop can skrimp on chips shouldn't be one of them.
