Went with a friend for dinner, we were there before 7pm and they were doing a deal, 3 courses for £30 with a limited menu, don't know how long this offer is going to be running. The food is very good, the staff are very friendly and helpful. Good choice of wine. Worth a visit

Perfect example of a restaurant that really hasn't changed for 40 years. Sonny's reincarnated. Same wealthy 60+ well-dressed locals. Enjoying excellent food and service, and bed by 1030. What is interesting is that, although this is good enough for Chelsea or Kensington, unlike Rick Stein down the road, no tourists. A good thing.

came here post-cinema for a birthday meal and absolutely loved it! our waiters were so lovely and attentive, food was amazing and quick so we weren’t waiting long but had enough time between courses.

We were a party of 8 on a busy pre-Christmas Saturday. The service was really good - friendly and attentive but not intrusive. Menu was quite limited but in a good way. Nice selection and everyone was happy with their orders. Mine was simple - steak and chips basically but all delicious. And prices were reasonable. All made for a great evening with friends.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch here with my family. Beautiful food, excellent service and a good wine list. I've given it 4 stars for atmosphere simply because there weren't many other tables in when we dined there. Other than that I simply can't fault the place - highly recommended.

Lovely local neighbourhood restaurant in Barnes. Tried the lunch set menu which was excellent and great value. To start we had the macerated yellow & green courgettes with olive oil and herb ricotta, and the duck parfait with homemade sourdough bread which was delicious. We then had the Cornish fishcakes with spinach, lemon and tartare sauce and also the cheese soufflé. The homemade thick cut triple cooked chips were so good. And for dessert we had the Morello cherry sorbet with lime granita which was amazing! Nice relaxed atmosphere for lunch with not that many people although it’s much busier in the evenings. The staff were very attentive and chatty.

This was our first time at Church Road and the first time leaving our little boy for the evening. The experience at Church Road was unbelievable and we are so happy we chose to spend our first date night with the team. We can’t wait for the next experience here! Thankyou

Fabulous! Very stylish. Lovely atmosphere, great food and excellent service. We dined with my in-laws, our 4 year old and a 5 month old baby. They made it super easy - with child friendly options. Next time I would like to go without the kids. The setup is so lovely to enjoy. :)

A friend hired the downstairs room for a special birthday. The food was excellent and the service was also very good. I had the crab bisque, pollock and pannacotta - all super.

Nice atmosphere but the whole experience felt extremely rushed. The bread we ordered didn’t even have time to get to the table before our (quite meagre) main courses arrived - about 5/6 minutes after we ordered them. The food was quite nice but didn’t feel worth the high price. We left in under an hour feeling rather stung by the short time we were there. Sadly don’t think we would return.

The food here is always absolutely delicious. We go regularly with family, friends and kids. The price is very reasonable and the food is consistently amazing. Definitely our favourite restaurant in Barnes/Putney area.

Wonderful restaurant. We are so lucky to have this locally. Have been many times but yesterday's set lunch was so delicious I felt prompted to write. Always welcoming, a beautiful space and actually good value for money too, considering the level of cooking.

Been wanting to come here for a year or so, but what with covid and life the stars never quite aligned. But managed to finally pay a visit taking my friend out for his birthday. And we had a fantastic experience! The food was incredibly delicious with excellent presentation. The wine selection was great. Every member of staff were super welcoming and friendly. And the venue looked great, would have stayed longer had it not been for a surprise to get to for our friend. Will definitely be coming back! Hopefully soon!

Simple but elegant, tasty food. Good service also. A request to swap out potatoes for mixed vegetables was accommodated without hesitation. Couldn’t really fault it!

Set in the beautiful village of Barnes in SW London,this is a modernised,spacious restaurant.We went for Lunch on a Saturday.We found the menu offering a choice of 5 starters,8 mains and 5 desserts.Our party of 5 included 2 children aged 4 and 1 and a half.Although there was no kids' menu per se, the children enjoyed their starters,which we used as mains for them.Service was swift and efficient,exactly what you'd like for a lunchtime sitting.The adults in our group had Coq au Vin,Ribeye Steak and a fishcake.The food was tasty and we washed it down with a very acceptable Shiraz.We felt we got value for money in our visit to Church Road.Being very adjacent to the Thames lends itself to a lovely stroll along the banks after our meal.Worth a visit if you're in the vicinity.

Modern and chic style, perfect for special occasions. Reasonably priced and generous portion sizes. The pork chop is incredibly tender and melts in the mouth. Highly recommend it! Also they have a private room available to book for larger parties

First meal out with friends for a year and we decided on an old favourite. Church Road (which we still refer to under its former name "Sunny's") surpassed expectations. The menu is not large, but I could have chosen any of the four options for starters and main courses. In the end I went for the crab tart starter - light, heavenly - followed by lamb - an explosion of delicious flavours accompanied by ludicrously delicious veg. It set us back £100 a head - but that included some serious bubbles and red wine. (The wine list is large!) Food excellent. Service friendly and courteous. A great night out. As always.

I think it goes to show the nonsense of reviews. This is not a 5. The food, even after Rishi’s discount, is over priced. I had the sirloin. I’ve bought better from Asda. That said, it’s a nice environment with pleasant staff. But I doubt we’ll be back.

The food is fantastic. From the presentation to taste. We were greeted by the owner, and soon we were having our coats taken care of, nibbles and bread. Great wine menu. The restaurant is divided into 2, being one the Common Room, I guess for parties. The food took a while to come, as Christmas Eve lunch time the place was busy. Alan took great care of us and keeping us informed. I like that. Recommended

It's a new place in Barnes, and worth the visit. We went for their Sunday Roast, I had the chicken which was amazing, my family took the beef which they also found outstanding. The starters and desserts are also very special and unique. The only reason I gave 4 not 5 stars, just because of the wait, we waited a bit longer than desired for the food to reach, but it was so much worth it. I strongly recommend

Attractive refit, with good balance of being “sophisticated” but “lively”. Food was delicious and service was great.
