Chubby's in South Somerset

The kebab here is very good, not greasy and very well cooked, also the salad was fresh and the service pleasant. Overall a good takeaway

Love this place! The owners are extremely friendly and greet you with smiles. The food is very fresh, wonderfully tasty and plentiful. The prices are spot on in todays current climate. I highly recommend the chicken kebab (juicy marinated chicken breast cooked on bbq, fresh salad with a wonderful homemade chilli sauce) and the pizzas, again fresh ingredients, plenty of toppings and comes with a free garlic dip. A real treat, has never disappointed in 3 years.

Chubby's are hindered with having to take cash only due to the lack of infrastructure on that side of the street. A card machine never connects. As to the food I am very satisfied with it. The owner has taken steps to provide me with meals that don't affect my allergies. He came up with a meal specifically tailored for me in the marinade he uses. Can't fault them and can't praise them enough. Very pleasant people with a good friendly manner.

In lockdown but as takeaways are permitted I went to try Chubby’s. I asked if I could pay by card and the person behind the counter didn’t even look up. He just barked “cash only” at me. Surely with a pandemic going on they should not be insisting on payment by cash. If he’d been a little less hostile it wouldn’t have been quite so bad. Also, there was no attempt at all to encourage social distancing. It’s a tiny shop but there was nothing asking people to stay apart. The only reason the customers kept their distance and queued outside was their own common sense. I definitely won’t be going back or recommending anyone else to.

The Chubby’s special kebab was excellent,the flavour was amazing and salad lovely and fresh. The fish and chips were okay but not good chip shop quality. The chips are nice and chunky. Good work guys.

Nice enough staff. Food was quick.....Salad was good.....Veggie burger was tasteless and bun was soggy....chips were fried within an inch of their life..... Doner kebab was good.......

As an exercise in overall value, we decided to try this place, because it is the closest pizza shop to our house. Previously, we'd travelled to Yeovil or Taunton, to major brand pizza shops, but the cost of fuel suggested that it would be sensible to try the local provider.They have a "special offer" outside, offering any pizza of a particular size for a fixed price. They are true to that offer and we have now been back a further three times.The quality of the food seems constant and the value is fine. No more travelling more than twenty five miles to get pizza!
