This place has been a place to go for good fish and chicken in the neighborhood for years. Great customer service, family own.

I heard Tammi Mac talk about this place. I ordered lemon pepper and BBQ wings. They were fried too long, which made them dry. The lemon pepper wings smelled different, like they were washed in soap water. Was not worth taking a picture, I only ate one of each.

It was New years eve and i ordered on line. They gave me previously frozen pre cooked wings. They were still cold in the center and so hard they weren't edible. We had to get some other food for the nite. I also got fish which was hot and fresh $80 down the drain. I wish i could have had fresh food.

We are visiting LA from Florida. I found this restaurant on Google in search of some southern good food. The reviews to this place were pretty good so we decided to try it. We spent $70 on four dinners. That was the WORSE thing I could ever do. After eating this food, I was up all night with diarrhea and vomiting. My family didn’t get sick but they only had chicken. I had chicken, snapper, shrimp, and tossed salad. The snapper was dry and didn’t taste very good and the salad dressing tasted weird. I thought it was maybe because I’m in a different region. I’m not sure what part of this dinner got me sick, but I just wanted to make people aware. Maybe the fish was old or the lettuce was bad. It could have been the salad dressing. I certainly did not plan spending a whole day of my vacation sick in bed!

This is my second time eating wings from here. Try it you will like it, it's not over season, but you can always put your own seasonings on it if you need to it's in the neighborhood. Also they have a variety of foods they got snapper they got shrimp they got a variety so take a look at it enjoy

We're still fairly new to the area and heard Tammy Mac mention this place on the radio. Great food. The young man at the window was so patient and kind despite all the requests that all the "auntees" were making lol... He never got unkind or rolled his eyes or anything. He was impressive. My husband and I both noticed. The food was AMAZING!! THE HUSHPUPPIES WERE OUTTA THIS WORLD! So was the catfish and shrimp. The chicken was tender and crispy.... I would have preferred a teeny bit more salt and maybe a little spice.... but it was still good. But those hushpuppies though. Lol

I’ve been here 3 times and 2 out of the three times I had a hair in my food the first I didn’t want to make a review gave them a second chance just to come back and have it happen again although your food is good your quality how it’s served is bad where are your hair nets I went from wanting to come here all the time to not wanting to return I don’t know where you’ll hair has been I wanted to support black business but this is why you cannot…I’d rather have clean eating experience over good tasting food with hair in it I’ll pass

I have been to the Rayleigh brand lots of times and the food there is fabulous, but I was in the Brentwood area and I thought I would stop by. The chips were nice by normal standards, but weren't as good as the brilliant standards of the Rayleigh shop. In my opinion Rayleigh offers the best in the country, alongside another favourite of mine in Hoddesdon, and I was hoping that Brentwood would be another great alternative. While the chips are tasty and nice, they aren't as crispy and fluffy as at Rayleigh.

The fish tasted really funny so don't know what oil it was cooked in but won't be going there again.

I've never been to this establishment in my life, but on September 7, 2023, someone at this restaurant manually keyed in my credit card number and processed a $100 hot wing order followed by another order. I have since reported the fraud but definitely suspicious activity....

Wings were good fries was horrible I told him about it, went back, and got them again same result .And when I told him Cris about he made me pay for fries 🍟 after u told him they was no good

While they used to be exceptional, it seems that Chris fish and chips has now fallen into the same category as your typical, mediocre corner fish and chips joint. Unfortunately, they seem to be on a downward slope. Despite this, I will occasionally give them another chance in hopes that they can recover and return to their former glory.

It's sad to say but the quality of food & service has dropped a lot, couldn't fulfill my order correctly, wouldn't give a refund for incorrect order, and to top it off, cash only!!! & still no refund. I doubt I'll be returning after being a regular loyal customer since Chris opened the shop, apparently he sold the shop 18 months ago 😕

Have been ordering from Chris’s fish and chips for quite a few years.Have always been excellent quality up until I place my order via Deliveroo yesterday. Ordered 2 large cod and chips.Chips were fine but the fish was awful.Way too thin and the batter was uncooked.Just fell of the fish and not even covering the bottom of the fish.Was also dripping in fat and was the worst I have had from anywhere in quite a while. Shame as was top quality but unsure why you would send my order in such a bad way.Have recommend this place to loads of people but seems the quality has gone downhill. Had to request a refund through Deliveroo. Chris, please sort out your quality issues you seem to be having as you were 1 of the best in Brentwood

Chicken lover like me? Forget Nandos & get the JD fillet burger you will not regret it! Juicy chicken breast in a toasted bun with fresh lettuce, CHEESE and that jack daniels sauce is the best in Brentwood! The chips are very tasty too, unlike others where the chips are there to fill you up, these chips here are to fill up your taste buds at the same time. Always friendly staff, never had a bad meal, will be back soon!

Got the fried fish dinner with 15 extra shrimp. A lemon cake and sweet potatoe pie. Fair prices, great food, not salty. Customer service was great. 1 side order was missing. But other than that I'll be back.

The service is excellent, but the food is really salty. The first time I went it was really salty as well, but I thought I'd give them another try. It appears that's the normal practice. First time, shame on them, second time, shame on you." Salt does not take the place of tasty well seasoned food.

Disappointed. Haven't had seafood in a while and this is one of my go to places. Never had a complaint til now. My fish smells musty and some pieces are cooked to a crisp. Anyone else dealt with this lately from them?

Always a great place to get made to order hot fried chicken. Wish they had more sides like yams etc. I understand that there's greens and potato salad from time to time but for some reason I always miss it. but the fries are always great so I never really lose😁Oh and by the way I had to call to see if they were still open on this particular night and the young man's customer service was impeccable! Just got chicken. Seasoned well, like homemade. Pieces are kinda small. Legs weren't much larger than the wings lol. But good home tasting fried chicken.

I been knowing the family for about 50 years the late C.W. who passed was one of the most generous people you ever want to meet and his son Chris is a chip off the old block.Now let's omniscient to the food CHICKEN is a great experience fish is just as good, if you've never had C.W. & Chris you missing out on life.

We've been going to Chris' fish & chip shop for a few years now but had to switch to deliveries because of the Covid virus etc. I don't know hie they do it but the fish is almost as crispy as we would collect from the shop... light, hot and virtually oil free. Chips arrive crispy also. It's clear that the fish hasn't been waiting on a hot shelf... straight from the fryer into the delivery box. Really very tasty and good size portions (unlike the place in Hutton Village). I'd highly recommend the shop to either collect or delivery.

Red snapper is well seasoned and perfectly fried. I normally don't eat oysters but even the fried oysters were good. Food is freshly made to order. Be sure to grab a lemonade!

Great food always a must have. Everything is made to order I don’t mind waiting and their service is good. I saw a few people being impatient but I always see them working hard and the food is great. The honey BBQ WINGS ARE FIRE!!! Fish Fire!!!

Really good food if you are in the mood for some fried wings or fish. They do have other items on the menu. I love their Buffalo Wings, they are so good. Ok, so here is a disclaimer, the neighborhood may not be the best but it really is pretty safe...don't let that discourage you from driving in to experience this neighborhood gem and I am so its a neighborhood favorite. It is not really a sit down spot but who is really sitting and eating anywhere nowadays, lol. I have been going there as a treat for years and no matter where I may live I am always up to make the drive to eat some of CW & Chris' deliciousness. Try it, you will be back.

As a northerner, I can be a bit snobby about my fish and chips and wow, these were phenomenal. Tasty fish, perfect batter and lovely chips. I ate the lot! I can’t rate these highly enough!

Food is okay. Ordered Whiting that had bones, unable to enjoy my meal because there were so many bones. Maybe I should have said filet the fish. Other fish markets Whiting have no bones. My church purchased lunches from them few weeks ago. Food was 😋delicious but today, I wasn't thrilled. Won't be returning. Finding parking👎is a hassle.

I eat in this lovely place many times a year! This is the best place to pass a nice evening. I visit this place regularly. The cooking is very good, the staff is polite and the rates are fair. I enjoy eating in this restaurant to have a decent dinner.
