Chozen Noodle in Taunton Deane

I always try to stop at a chozen on the motorway, it’s better than the usual motorway stuff. This one the staff were unhelpful and tried charging for soy sauce with the sides. I go to loads of them and I’ve never been charged before.

Turned up to break up a long drive and wasn’t open even though advertised as open to 7pm and it was half 1 a joke and waste of a stop wouldn’t bother stopping at this services at all to be honest toilets were awful I wouldn’t even use them!

I thought this would be similar to the other motorway noodle store but I was wrong. The chicken was dryyyyyyy 😭 The sauce was stodgy. The whole experience saddened me to my core.

Stopped for food! Looked at Chozen closing times before stopping and said it closed at 19:00pm. So we stopped and went in to find it closed at 17:30??? Maybe update the opening/closing times needed!! And left disappointed not having any food at all (trying to be healthy)

Waited 15mins in the queue to be told rice will take another 10mins. Ordered noodles with katsu chicken for husband, it was overpriced and tasteless and dry. Slow service, one person serving queue of 20 people. I wanted big mac but wanted to try as I like Japanese (this was far from any Japanese I had). I ended up without food bcs I would have to queue again for Mcdonald. Avoid and go for Mcdonald

Get absolutely nothing for your money. Wish I never spent 30m queuing for their food. Don’t waist your time and money!!!!

We received great service there Friday night - the chap had been working from 10am and was about to close up and went above and beyond to serve us - thank you Food was amazing

We called at Chozen Noodle at the roadchef Taunton South M5 Southbound, and I must say it was terrible food, both taste and quality .........it was the worst sweet and sour with noodles I have ever had and the Katsura was not much better, awful food.

Should gone to McDonalds. Got both a noodle+duck and rice+chicken curry @ £14 Curry was watered down and I'm not sure where they get their recipe but nothing about it come close to the real thing or anything on that matter, just overwhelming cinnamon spice. The noodle is dry and the duck portion is just a 4,5 tinny bits. Only good thing was the fact it came with 2 chicken fillet even though it was dry even though it's drowend in the watery curry.

Stopped at taunton deane services and decided on a change to mcD. Food was good and portion sizes more than adequate. Choice was very limited no katsu and no rice left

Had the vegetarian red curry with rice. Was lovely, and the service was great as well.

Doesn't worth buying food from them, A waste of my time waiting in the queue.

Enjoyed my noodles last time I visited. So much so, that I googled where they were and I will be planning my pit stop here.

Awful don’t waist your money! Sweet and sour was bland noodles cold and dry will not be returning don’t waste your money!

I’m vegan & always have issues finding food at motorways so was pleasantly surprised to find an option at Chozen Noodle. A catalogue of terribly bad service & terrible food resulting in my partner getting food poisoning so spent the rest of our journey stopping for him to vomit (he was driving as I don’t have my licence yet!). His sickness continued throughout the day & all of the night so he missed the event we’d paid to attend. Here’s a list of our experience: Tell my partner not to eat McDevils & go to order from Chozen. One server was clearly finishing his shift, looked at me, handed something to his colleague without alerting him of my presence & walked off. Remaining server continued doing something with stickers with his back turned. I alerted him to my presence & his indifferent greeting should have been an indication on what was to follow. Food was labelled incorrectly. Didn’t know if the veg dish was vegan. Asked if he could recommend something for my partner. At one point he did say he’d eat any of them but I wasn’t convinced! The fried/baked items looked as if they’d been there since the previous day. Dry & dark in colour - exactly as you’d expect from the situation of being left out. The other dishes looked ok if not a little gelatinous. I ordered the veg option with rice as directed by the server as the noodles have eggs in. Something wrong with the rice. So he went to ask for help. He left me at least twice at the counter for what felt like 5 mins at least each time. A colleague from another food outlet (the one we should have gone to but it was expensive) came back with him to advise him that the rice cooker was not on properly. She was a fine example of customer service - apologised & offered basmati rice from her place, I accepted & she care back with the rice. Then the issue finding pot lids.... Then the issue finding forks...... no forks! I went via the very helpful server for a fork & rushed off to the car for my partner (he’d been walking the dog outside) to eat. The ordering process took about 20/25 minutes! Pots were practically empty. Mine was tasteless - good rice though! His was ok - not impressed. May have mentioned a few times he should have just bought a McDevil option. 20 mins down the road my partner feels ill with stomach pains. Approx 30/40 mins after purchase we’ve pulled up so he can vomit. This continued through the journey to Saltash, all day & most of the night. I tried calling the services to discuss but there was no answer. NEVER EATING AT CHOZEN AGAIN!

We thought we'd give this a try instead of plumming for the usual McDonalds. It was awful and the service terrible. We chose the deal where you got a drink and a bag of prawn crackers for £1.99. They were stale so were took them back. We got another bag and they were the same. The response was simply a shrug from the woman on the till. Such a shame.

Sweet and sour chicken had no taste. Sweet chilli chicken was far too sweet did not eat them . Prawn crackers had no taste left them. Tea poor quality. £15 wasted will not eat there again

Inattentive bored server. Tiny portions hardly half filling pot. Gave me the sauce but scooped around the meat ! Extremely stale prawn crackers.

I had been travelling all day from Sweden and looked forward to dinner on the motorway home. I chose Sweet and Sour Chicken and my partner chose Teriyaki Chicken. One mouthful was all we could take. They were both extremely glutinous , probably because they had been simmering away all day on the counter front. We got up to take them back, but Chozen Noodle had just closed, at 7 pm. Maybe early in the day the food is quite palatable, but make sure you don't eat later as we hoped to - unless you want to superglue your lips together!

Seen this place a couple of times and to be honest only tried it because the queue at the other fast food locations was way too long. Menu is adequate but food is good quality and you get enough to fill up on something healthier than the regular stale sandwich or burgers. Service was quick and efficient; the only downside I would say was the price as I thought it was a little high but looking back if we had all had a burger meal it would have been about the same
