Waited nearly 2 hours for food to turn up cold, soggy chips, soggy chicken and over cooked ribs. Wouldn't recommend

If I could leave a -5 review I would, the food was absolutely horrible , so greasy and literally just tasted like Grease , called up the restaurant to get my money back, and all she says is no refund, I would strongly advice to eat anything you have instead of this restaurant , absolutely dreadful.will never ever ever recommend or order from here again, VILE!!!

Had a takeaway from here last week, the food smelt vile and tasted disgusting had to put it in the bin. Contacted Chopsticks for a refund which they refused to give only offering replacement of the order placed. My family had a small amount of the replacement and we were all very poorly with food poisoning that night and the next two days. I had to take time off work to look after the kids as they were so poorly. AVOID THIS VILE PLACE!!! Disgusting food and disgusting service no wonder it has now been given a 1 Star rating never ever will we have food from here again!!!

Rubbish!!! I would highly recommend not to choose “wondering dragon” on the special dishes. Honestly, it’s made me Ill I have severe stomach pains from the dish, it didn’t taste nice at all , the chicken tasted like it went out of date a year ago, it was so rubbery. The prawns was vile. No taste or texture at all. I will never be going back to chopsticks again put it that way.

Didn't enter the stop. Ordered over the phone. Everything was great!! Salt and pepper share box was great value and was tasty!

Not tried the Chinese dishes yet but the fish and chips are extremely good.

It's hit and miss when you get a take away from here. Some are decent but the last one we had was awful. Tasteless noodles, crispy beef inedible. Lemon Chicken chewy. It was poor and a waste of £17.

We ordered food at 6.10pm and still no food by 8pm having chased it twice ! My husband phoned to cancel the order only to find out that we were never going to get our food anyhow. The delivery driver couldn’t find us and couldn’t be asked to ring the number we gave when ordering. He just went back to Chopsticks and no-one had the courtesy to tell us. I am absolutely disgusted with this service and will never use them again. Shame on you Chopsticks

I really don’t like leaving negative feedback but I feel completely ripped off! Woeful. Zero flavour, CAKED in dark grease, RAW batter, the curry sauce came out in one greasy ball with almost like a skin on from the pot leaving the pot almost clean, bizarre! Genuinely gross! Threw away the entire order as it was astonishingly GRIM!!

when ever I go back oop North I always go here just for the potatoe savoury cakes cos they are ace 👌

I really like this Chinese, I would class it as old school, the chips are proper chippy chips and the curry is thick and spicy. Love it.

Thought I'd try this place but wow absolutely horrendous. Got a something I never even ordered. Very greasy food, want good Chinese go to hasland house.

The meals here are great and so tasty, it was brill, it is my favourite Chinese takeout and i recommend coming here! THE BEST CHINESE TAKEOUT IN CHESTERFIELD BY FAR!! highly recommend!

Not too impressed. Scruffy establishment, looks quite grimy at best, not too tasty food, seems overpriced. Bit like somewhere off a Gordon Ramsey programme. Not somewhere I intend to use again in the near future, if at all.

This is a fish and chip / Chinese which is a bit confusing due to the larger menu however every time we have had a Chinese takeaway, it has been beautiful and we will no longer try anywhere else! The chow mein is always delicious.

Chips tasted and felt like rubber they poured an excessive amount of salt on anything and everything . The staff didn’t work half the time and was very slow in anything they did . Everything was vile . WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

A worryingly large menu. I presume a large proportion of the menu isn't freshly cooked and unfortunately that reflected on the taste. One dish was actually inedible. Chips not good, noodles and rice very greasy. Lemon chicken was OK(ish). Curry sauce was decent though! Might try the English Fish & Chips menu one day soon as i thought it always used to be really good years back when I lived more locally.

We had a Chinese meal from them the beef in black bean sauce was dry the beef currys were cold the chips was old and it all went in the bin the only thing was all right was the ribs and prawn crackers

Honestly, the first impression of this takeaway were not bad at all. I had amazing service and the food were affordable and delicious.

Utterly VILESOME chips, honestly the worst I've ever eaten. Savoury cakes also were completely HORRIBLE, most of the meal quickly ended up in the bin. Complete waste of time and money

This used to be a great Chinese! Tonight's meal was terrible!!!!! Stale, soft pawn crackers, tasteless noodles and rice, greasy spring rolls, over cooked, dry, tasteless chicken which was like eating plywood. Will not be returning, onwards and upwards! Disappointed to say the least 😔.

Excellent place & excellent service to, your best bet is to just ring in for an order, that way it's a lot quicker instead of waiting around for your order. Good staff to, very friendly. As it's been taken over by new owners.

Not just a chip shop as you can order from the whole Chinese menu upon opening at 11.30am Quick service, good prices and quality food. Always polite. Definitely worth trying. 👍

First time I’ve had a meal here and it was delicious, usually use another Chinese in Hasland but I am converted to Chopsticks now . Young lady serving was so polite and friendly under pressure as she was busy . Thank you Chef amazing food

Used this Chinese chip shop for years and years. But until they get their Scores on the Doors hygiene rating up, I won’t be eating again. How can they go from a 5/5 to a 1/5 rating?! 😞😞

Been here many times and never had a bad meal. Staff are always friendly and food is lovely. IMO Best Chinese in Chesterfield and even though I no longer live locally I still return whenever I can because its still the best around.

Unfortunately the original owner moved on, since then it's not been the same. I have been rather unwell after my last two visit, sorry to say I'll not be going back.

Food has gotten better in recent months. Can't speak about the Chinese, but pretty decent fish and chips.

Always queues but that's because it's good food. Regular staff missing from serving area. I think they've left

Genuinely this by far is my absolute favourite chippy in the entire world! I have been coming here for years, even moving for London for a few years. When I returned it was just as good as it used to be. The rumours of new management are false... Peter just does something else now so isn't always there. Which after around 40 years is more than fair! Highly recommend so what are you waiting for?!?!

Recently taken over, the food has become VERY TASTY. Be it Fish & Chips or Chinese, you get it hot, clean, well cooked and massive taste bud overflow. Well done guys.

First ever bad experience at Chopsticks, chicken chow mein was boiled chicken lacking any taste and the crispy duck was too fatty and dry rather than crispy. Only good thing we're the chilli beef strips however not worth the £20 for what was paid. Shame Pete and his dad have left the takeaway after 20 years - I won't be returning any time soon!

Good for nothing. Ordered 2 meals and was told to collect a whole a hour later. When collection time finally came around, meals still weren't ready - had to wait another 30 minutes along with a full shop of equally disgruntled customers. They seem to lack something: I think it's everything. The finished product was bland and the majority of it was missing anyway which I actually feel relieved about - bin collection day isn't for ages and inevitably it would have rotten down to a nasty stench (even worse than the aroma of the shop) by then. My advice is simply not to go there. Ever. Their regular customers seem happy just to have some edible food on their plate; not food that is of any real quality.

Waited well over an hour for Chinese for 2 people and chips for 1. Everyone who came in after us was served before us - no communication as to how long we would be waiting. One man was sat down while everyone else was working hard. No apology made for our wait.. Money just taken and food handed over. Food tasted ok but the long wait was shocking.

I've been using this chippy for over 25yrs. If not the best it's one of the best. Pete (owner) is a real decent top man

Always go here for fish 'n' chips. Great taste and a great price. Always busy so you may have to wait a minute or two to be served, but worth it. Had the odd bit of Chinese food as well, mostly noodle dishes, and that's great as well.
