Flavours really bland, wouldnt recommend. Definitely need new chefs, City Centre branch has proper flavours

Ordered Malaysian spice medium noodles to pick up, The Malaysian spice noodles were absolutely ghastly. Tasted nothing like it use to taste. This one had no salt and had this awful after taste. The noodles looked and tasted like dish water. The spring rolls were drenched in oil and so were the prawn crackers. Food made with absolutely no care whatsoever. The shop itself looks like an abandoned warehouse. Cold and dingy. Won't be going here ever again. Absolutely disgraceful!!

Still waiting on my food (which is only 3 items by the way) 50 minutes after it was supposed to get here and the restaurant don't want to pick up the phone. We've called 10 times. Shocking service. I just received a call from a mobile number (not the restaurant number) while writing this to say that the driver is on the way but the restaurant is too far and I need to pay the driver an extra 3 pounds when he gets here. It's not a lot of money but it's the principle! It doesn't state anything of the kind on the website nor did it present as a problem at checkout. I already paid £2.50 for delivery too. He quickly waived the extra charge when I started kicking off but cut off the phone to shut up my complaint and request for compensation. What cheek! No doubt my food will arrive bearing icicles now. Not happy and will not be ordering from this branch again.

If only I had read the reviews before we had placed an order! Mixed platter came with half the contect(no shrimp toast, chicken satay and sweet chilli dip) mentioned on just eat, called them and they claimed they don't do it. Got a meal for 2... Beef and black bean sauce with medium noodles was dry and tasteless. Roast Duck with schezuan saune and thin rice vermicelli noodles which was very disappointing, only 4 pieces of duck and tasted horrible. Positives... Crispy chicken wings, potato wedges and bottle of pop. Although boxes are small, they do hold alot. Most of the food went in the bin. Very dissatisfied!!!

Normally use the chop and wok in hall green which we as a family love the food. Tonight used the stechford branch as its more local to us. We had a bad meal from here appox a year ago and was hoping it would have improved by now. It hasn't!! Child's meal we always have from the other chop and wok is normally mild chicken noodles as its a kids meal well my sons one from the stechford branch was spicy and unbearable to eat! I'm sure they don't change the cooking equipment when using different sauces etc Second meal was also no ediable and not enjoyable. Will never return to this branch again!

Ordered from here the other day for my little girl. Charged me more than advertised! My order should have been £8.75 and they charged me £11.50 absolute robbery!!! Charged me £2.50 for prawn crakers and i only recieved 6????? When I went back stating that the menu shows otherwise they replied with "our prices are different" say what??? Who's ours? And who owns the shop because it's on your menu!!!!! There was hardly any chicken, mostly noodles. Box was tiny. Nothing like other chop n woks!! Absolutely appalling.

This is by far the worst place you will ever order from. I don’t mind the food from chop n wok at other places but avoid this branch. I guarantee you will wait hours for delivery. They will claim it’s with the delivery driver then it’ll still take way over an hour if not more. I ordered from here and waited 2and a half hours to then be told when I rang the chef hadn’t shown up an they had to cancel my order! (Ive ordered multiple times in the past and this branch is ALWAYS so late) I’ve now taken the risk an ordered again and it’s now late and the phone number doesn’t work so I think it’s not even coming. It’s a disgrace. Beyond a disgrace

I've ordered via UberEats & the experience was better than the Suffolk street branch as they were missing items but this branch never messed up my order. The portions are decent. This place is halal too. Keep it up guys, will order from this branch again . I would recommend to family & friends.

Phone line strangely disconnected… more than positive this is so they don’t have to deal with complaints because the food here is utter garbage. Do not order food from this awful establishment. Overpriced and it seems the people who prepare the food can’t count or even see with their eyes. What a waste of money. Please, please close down this shop. EDIT: 1 week later and this establishment is still not accepting phone calls and willingly stealing money from customers. I have been unable to sort out my issue because no one cares. Do yourself a favour and order food from somewhere else. Literally anywhere but here. Worst fast-food in Birmingham. Period. PLEASE CLOSE THIS SHOP, do everyone a favour.

Alot have said previously and I must emphasize, the portion size and any extras you order will be significantly reduced. You can forget extra vegetables or tofu, forget it and don't bother wasting your time with this franchise, the Erdington branch are far more generous thus reasonably portioned. Cutting corners at the expense of your customers is not on. Definately reporting to the head office it is abundently clear you are ripping consumers off for pure monetary gain; profit and dissatisfied customers do not go hand in hand. Furthermore, when I addressed this directly to the branch, they had no care to resolve issue simply attributing it to chef error, this in actual fact seems to be a chronic, habitual issue with many other disgruntled customers. The branch claimed to be closed at 22.30 otherwise they would have delivered a good will box, when I asked why they were taking customer phone calls after branch closure, the response 'oh my manager asked me to pick it up'. The complete lies and utter wilful disregard for customer care is quite frankly appalling, they had no intention of rectifying their mishap which now certainly appears to be deliberate. I will be escalating this to head office as mentioned in the phone call. I will want a resolution, and moreover for Stechford chop and wok to be exposed. This is quite evidently not a one off!!! I'd rather go to bed hungry then eat from Stechford chop and wok. Update: No further communication had been made following the review. To shut down your response, no one from chop and wok recently spoke to me. Nevertheless, Chop and Wok continue to thrive on such contrivances, adding insult to injury. HEAD OFFICE couldn't care less, ignorant and dismissive, they're just as bad if not worse than the branch in question. Save yourself the headache, boycott chop and wok. #boycott

Great customer service, quick and top tier food, workers are all kind and friendly they make u feel not left out especially a worker named zane, he’s an absolute great worker and a great asset to chop and wok with his skills and confidence I went last time and had to wait an extra 5 mins for my wok and he threw in a free drink for the inconvenience, this is the type of customer service we love.

Ordered a Ramen noodle soup, there was some carrot, red onion, pepper, red cabbage. No spring onion, ginger, garlic, bean sprout, coriander, or boiled egg. The soup was not infused with anything. It was boiled water. Never ordering from here again. It was honestly very bad.

The food was awful. Ordered katsu chicken and rice and it looks like they ran out of sauce so they watered it down massively.

After 2 hours 40 minutes, 5 phone calls, 10 minute phone call giving the delivery driver directions, food is finally here. Foods decent but wanted it at 8 not 10.40! Wouldnt recommend, will never be ordering again

Used to love chop n wok years ago so thought to try it again from this branch. Noodles weren't bad but quite pricey for the portion you get. Also I ordered Korean chicken *wings* and received 4nchicken dippers with some sweet chilli sauce on it lol was too hungry to ring and fix order...don't think il be ordering again sadly.

The only place to go if you want guaranteed food poisoning. I wouldn't even recommend it to my worst enemy.

It is NOT POSSIBLE to pay £25 for a plater for 2 to receive a box half full of wedges, 4 chicken wings and 2 prawns. It is DISGRACEFUL!!! online menu does NOT contain informations about this product or what this is contained of. Not worth the money, not worth the quality and quantity. Very disappointed! Phoned the shop and the guy wasn't helpful at all!! Useless!

I'm not a big fan of Chinese food but who doesn't like noodles? With these guys, sorry to say they cannot cook Chinese to save their life. Been ordering here and there for 2 years and I have disappointed with the food most of the time. I only order because I don't know any other halal Chinese place. Let me know if u know an alternative place. I feel like I need to teach these guys how to make oriental food. But good service hence 2 stars. They always over do it with the sauce in the noodles. The katsu curry was a joke! They really don't know what a katsu curry is. I do like the spring rolls and they do give give generous about. Chef at chop and wok, please follow basic recipes on Facebook or Tiktok and learn about the basic dishes. Many thanks

I came in today to order and I received excellent service from the server. I think it was the short kid today, but normally when I come in the guy with a beard serves me. The kid was very welcoming, he greeted me and it was generally just a good vibe inside the shop. The food was excellent and it tasted really nice. Hope to come here again soon!

I don't ever leave reviews but I need to warn people not to go here. My wild mushroom rice which is supposed to be vegan smelt and tasted like seafood. I have no idea what they did but I would rather eat my dogs vomit because that would have probably been a better experience. Also the costumer service was shocking, 2 hours to arrive, all meals and sides were cold. It cost £47.00 I would have rather donated that money to charity because that was not money well spent.

the worst Chinese meal I have ever had. cold burnt seafood starter wrong chowmein and it tasted disgusting wild mushroom rice smelt fishy and tasted dreadful. cold chips. plus when they rang as they couldnt do one order they were rude and impatient. plus then sent wrong dish not good value for money either save your money

First visit for collection, not bad food really, hot, nice big portions, chef looked happy and professional but the counter server had no customer relation skills at all, front of house personnel should be leaving a good impression for folks to return 🤷‍♂️

I have never been so unhappy with take out food. The food was ordered at 19:51pm and at 20:20pm you said that the food was out for dispatch. Despite me then waiting till after the delivery time of 21:00pm to contact you. You said the food was out to order. I had to contact you two times further to see where ny order was. When the food arrived it was cold. Rice was mushy like mashed potato so i could not even re heat that in the microwave. Chips were stone cold. Curry sauce was like a yoghurt i had just taken out of the fridge. So disappointed as i have never had a bad service normally. Also there was no beef in my noodles. Disappointing and annoyed. Food was cold and late. Considering i have paid so much money for the food, the least i would expect was for it to be hot and on time. I want a response to this!!!!

The fiasco started with the online ordering which did not work in any format. I called and mentioned this was told the 20% discount only applied online. I stood my ground and the manager reluctantly gave it for cash only. This was the second visit to this branch and I only went back because it supposed to be under new management. It wasn’t. Same owner same Asian cook. There was no change to the food. NOT GOOD AT ALL. Even with a Asian cook, the food tasted less authentic then ever. They got our order wrong so we ended up with 3 of the same dish. Flavourless, lacking seasoning or taste of what it should be. My beef in black bean sauce was truly terrible. The beef was chewy and the noodles and veg were smothered in a tasteless sauce. We honestly took maybe 2/3 bites and threw it all away. Plus points. The potions were hugh but what the point if the food is no good. Also the 3 free fortune cookies that came with the order were fabulous. Really tasty. I truly hate putting up bad reviews unless it’s justified. I have no guilt for this review. Come on guys, get it together and offer something fantastic.

not good 1st of all chicken was very very hard burnt ,so they changed it for me which was nice of them . but the food is not even mediocre i am not a qualified chef but i can cook way better than this. nice guys and was helpful but it comes down to the food . just bit of advice try acha halal and get tips from them their food is absolutely perfect . i hate wasting food had to bin it.

I’ve been ordering for 2 years. Great food, great options, diversity in choosing what to eat(vegan option as well). I see so many bad reviews, but that’s not reflecting exactly what’s going on. Will keep ordering.

BLAND I ordered the chicken scezhuan stir fry box which was bland and tasteless. Had to add my own homemade spices in to it to give it some flavour. The malaysian sauce prawn stir fry box I ordered only had 3 pieces of prawns, that's just not on considering I paid 70p extra for the prawns. The prawn crackers and spring rolls were okay but wouldn't order again.

Avoid. Absolutely rubbish - normally I eat every little strand of noodle but with the beef and noodles from this place ate about a quarter and left the rest. Just could not stomach any more. Tasteless. Three pieces of chewy beef. It was just a mess and a waste of money.

AVOID! Delivery driver has broken down. Had to find this information out for myself after 40 minutes of waiting over the given time. Not great customer service. Food arrived and the noodles were wrong and so was the flavouring. Ordered udon kungpo and got thin noodles with something way to spicy. Called restaurant to get a refund they said a driver would come back in 1 and a half hours to get the food, if the food was half eaten they would not refund. I had to go to just eat in the end and get my money back via them. Driver never came back for the food!

Ordered th ramen multiply times and every single time it's different, tonight drew the line for me, just noodles and bamboo shoots in broth with a few bits of boiled chicken. Discrace to call it ramen Also took over an hour and 15 to come.

First time ordering with them and never again !!!! My order was supposed to come at 20.20.After 20 min I tried calling the restaurant and had no answer. Fortunately I ordered through Just eat and manage to chat online trying to sort out my order. Apparently they tried to deliver my order early and my phone had no signal ..... !!!! Anyway got a message from the restaurant saying my order was late and was supposed to be delivered at 21.50.Got a phone call from the restaurant and in the end I decided to cancel. All well ..but on the site there was no change in the status of my order. Finaly had to call Just eat and sort it out with them and got my order cancelled !!!! I will never order with them again and stay away..seems like a scam to me ..cheating people with their order !!!!

If I could give 0 or minus stars I would. Person taking order had no interest in or understanding of what we were asking. 40 minute delivery was 1 hour 10 minutes. Driver phoned for us to go out to car to collect and didn't even ring bell...we live in a house not a flat. Food was disgusting, chips cold, tiniest portions of noodles and curry sauce was chip shop mix sauce and had burst out of the carton. Disgusting is an understatement. PLEASE DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE even if you're desperate!

Ordered platter for 2, forgot to send the coke bottle. Phoned up and they said they would send it straight away, 1 hour later and we still don't have it. Chicken in the platter was very dry, like it had been cooked earlier and reheated.

I’m VERY disappointed, being a first time customer in this Chop & Wok. I have tried numerous other chinese takeaways similar to this, but this was not what I expected from here. The noodles were black in colour, due to the high amount of soya sauce added to them, and the beef was very chewy. I ordered four large boxes which is pricey, but I was not happy with my order. I’m not sure if I’ll be ordering again, as my first impression of the place hasn’t been a good one. 😕

Unfortunately my experience here was not GOOD. The food was bland. I had ordered a chicken Schzuan. I had requested for extra spice but it turned out no spice was added. Either the guy serving me was hard of hearing or he forgot to tell the chef what I requested extra spice. The service was extremely poor. The person serving me was more focused on having a good old chat with his mate on the phone. Totally unprofessional. I wouldn't be at all surprised if this place shuts down soon as you're trying to compete with the local Chinese takeaways. Honestly, there are far better takeaways then this. Be warned.

This is a good chippy but they have mucked up our order 3 times we always ask for the cucumber to be off the kebab but it never is even though we say they are allergic they also mucked up the meal deal we only got one small chips instead of 2. The 1st time we complained the manager (naz) said he would bring us another one out personally he did not he got a driver to do it, it took so long to get here we complained at half 7 and we got it at half 9 by this time it was cold. The second time they mucked up was again on the kebab they completley missed it out of the order and once again they took forever to send it out and for the third mess up they did not get the cucumber out of the kebab and we again complained but this time they didnt even send another back out. I dont think we will be ordering from here again we gave them 3 chances and they mess up all the time. ;(

Normally the fish is good. This time it was clearly old and I got food poisoning. Won't be going again.
