Such a disappointment. Over priced for very small portions. Had a very long wait just for coffees and cakes. Hot drinks were lukewarm by the time they arrived. Cake very small portion. Ice cream was a tablespoon portion rather than an ice cream scoop. Had run out of soup, scones and tuna sandwiches by 1.30pm. The waitress who served us was pleasant but the lady behind the counter was not friendly at all and very slow to serve. I would not recommend this place at all.

Overly priced, small portions, bad staff mannerisms… would not recommend! It has definitely went downhill, which is sad.

We were looking for a light-ish lunch in Alford and happened upon this café. It's bright and airy and the young woman serving (not sure if she's the eponymous Chloe) was very engaging. We ordered a soup and a sandwich and generally when you do this you get half a sandwich. However, this was the whole thing, so tremendous value for money.

We visited CKC to try the food after being recommended their catering services by our wedding venue. We enjoyed a delicious brunch in modern surroundings, and the presentation of the food was beautiful. I've never seen such pretty pancakes! Needless to say, we were very glad to have CKC provide catering services across two days for our wedding. Chloe was responsive and clearly put a lot of thought into making our day special - she worked with us to design a menu that met the varied dietary preferences of our guests, come up with ideas for special touches like a sweet table, and sourced matching decor working with our florist. Across both days the team were fantastic. Our guests were impressed with the variety of food and friendly service. We highly recommend Chloe and the CKC team to anyone looking for a caterer that is willing to go the extra mile - and we'll be back for brunch!!

We have been here before a few tomes and love the friendly staff, gorgeous food and bright spotless interior. So for Valentines we bought an Afternoon Tea Voucher. We were welcomed by a lovely, friendly waitress. The tea and coffee plentiful and hot. The sandwiches were fresh and fillings delicious. Cup of homemade mushroom soup delicious and oh boy the best sausage roll we've had at an afternoon tea. The staff obviously made an effort as all the cakes and scones were fresh, mouthwatering and homemade. This lovely place is a hidden gem. The owner and staff obviously care so much about service and quality. Will be returning again soon. Thank you for a wonderful Valentines afternoon.

Was at Chloe’s today with a special friend we enjoyed a really beautiful afternoon tea, so much goodies included, every single thing was lovely, soup, sausage rolls, sandwiches, scones and an array of fancy cakes all finished off with a piece of Scottish tablet, perfection, coffee pot topped up whenever needed and all most pleasantly presented and served with a smile, would thoroughly recommend afternoon tea here.

Awful lunch experience after hearing some good reviews of this place. I ordered the club sandwich which sounded lovely, 15 minutes later I was told they had no bacon and asked if I would like something else. Quite surprised that they had run out of bacon at 12pm. I decided to go for the steak burger as there wasn’t much else that I liked the sound of. 20 minutes later I was informed that the order was taking so long was because they ran out of burgers and had to pop down to the local Co-op to buy burgers! This really got my back up and I didn’t expect to be served a burger from the local shop. Burger finally arrived over an hour later, to my disappointment the burger was cremated and not edible. We informed the staff members and showed them the cremated burger. They asked if I would like something else, but by this point I was done with lunch and the time it had taken. Simple solution would have been to send someone to the shop for bacon for my club sandwich. Lessons to be learnt and don’t tell your customers that your burger is currently being purchased for the local convenience store. Owner didn’t seem to be very sympathetic to my situation and looked glad to see the back of us.

We (me, dad and 3yo daughter) walked into the village for lunch and stumbled upon Chloe’s after seeing a few other places were closed on Sunday. Even looking through the window, straight away we noticed the cafe was stylish and inviting. We walked in and asked for some menus and took a seat. Plenty options for breakfast and lunch with a full separate menu for kids. The kids menu had a colouring in picture on the back and a member of staff soon brought over some pencils. The place caters for children very well - it has a little play corner and lots of books which is great to see. Dad had the open BLT, i had the poached eggs with avocado on toast and daughter had pancakes. Service was very friendly and even asked if we wanted to move closer to the play corner once a table became available. Lovely food and atmosphere. Toilets were well equipped with nice soaps etc. Will definitely return next time in Alford, maybe try one of the tray bakes which looked fantastic.

What can I say really, the woman left us 20 mins before we were acknowledged, and the table was very dirty , we asked her to clean it, she kept saying how busy she was , We then got a menu , and then she comes back to say there was no bread , and she couldn’t do sandwiches or anything like that , so we chose a couple of cakes and a drink instead, waited and waited , and eventually my friend had to ask where our food was , to be told they forgot about us! And then he goes off to serve someone else, and we were again forgotten ! so after 45 mins we left with nothing and won’t return. Sad , lovely looking cafe , and quite bright and modern. not my cup of tea (pardon the pun)

Went for afternoon tea today. Our first visit to the cafe. Spacious, bright, minimalistic modern decor. Lots of young attentive, well mannered staff. The first platter was sandwiches and savouries, served with a huge pot of tea. The bread was delicious, you could taste it was good quality. Lovely tastes of home made chutneys added to fillings. The sweet platter was gorgeous. The hostess was polite and explained the beautiful food. Such a really nice experience and a great place to drop into for a day out in the Shire.

I was in for an afternoon tea with my mum, daughter and baby boy and we were warmly welcomed to a beautifuly decorated cafe. There was a great amount of food with plenty delicious sandwiches, a mini quiche, a sausage roll and, of course, the fancy pieces, which were all home-baked. I've had many afternoon teas but this was absolutely one of the best ones we've had. Can highly recommend and I can't wait to go back!

Breakfast at Chloe’s. We were really looking forward to a Sunday treat with friends, who were visiting, but unfortunately we were slightly disappointed. We managed to get a table for 5 on a walk in on a quiet Sunday morning. We ordered four mini breakfasts and one eggs Benedict. The eggs Benedict was great, really tasty and our friend said that he would definitely recommend. Unfortunately the rest of the party were slightly disappointed with the mini breakfasts. The portion was in our opinion, quite mean considering the cost. The breakfast came on cold plates and the food was cold. In fact some of the food was stone cold and had to be sent back to the kitchen (twice). The scrambled and fried eggs were lovely but unfortunately the poached egg was close to hard boiled! What made up for the breakfast was the fact the coffee at this place is fab and they do great cake. However you shouldn’t have to fill up on cake after a decent breakfast. This was our second visit and we were definitely underwhelmed. Again we got a partial refund but would have preferred just to have enjoyed our breakfast. The staff are friendly and the cafe is fresh and clean. With a bit more effort on quality and detail this could be a destination cafe for Alford.

Sunday stop off. We had hoped to get a bowl of soup or a light bite. However the kitchen was closed and all that was on offer was tea and cake. The tea and coffee were fine, the coffee (latte) was average and quite weak. We ordered a pecan tray bake and banana loaf. The tray bake was lovely but unfortunately the slither of banana cake must have been sitting out for too long as it was dry as dust and falling apart (I asked for it to be taken off the bill and it was). Not much of an atmosphere, would be great to see something on the walls. We’ll give this place another go and hopefully land there on a better day!

What a lovely experience from start to finish. We had booked for afternoon tea and were delighted we did. We were warmly welcomed and shown to a table that was set with beautiful tea cups and side plates. The service was faultless, warm, friendly, helpful, and it was lovely to see the care and attention that was shown to every customer. The food was excellent, everything had been made with obvious care. The bread was fresh and great quality, there was a lovely range of sandwiches. The sausage rolls were well flavoured with light, crisp, buttery pastry. The scones were light and fresh, and came with jam and clotted cream, you can't beat a good scone. Every cake was a triumph from the mini cream meringue, which had a lovely chewy centre, to the rich chocolate brownie, and the empire biscuits that melted in your mouth. My favourite thing was the lemon posset, it was rich and creamy with a lemony zing and came with the cutest tiny spoon. The coffee was also excellent. This is quite a new place, and it's been beautifully renovated. It's also super clean, even the toilets were photo worthy, not often that happens.

Right next to where we stayed this little cafe was calling out for us to get coffee and cake. The cake offering was very good with lots of choice and the same with the drinks. Both were delicious - however, the service was so slow due to there being one member of staff trying to manage everything with a queue forming outside and orders coming in on an app. There needs to be more people helping.

Went in for a quick take away ice cream for me and the kids. There were 2 young girls behind the counter. 1 person was paying for their sit down meal and a mum and push chair were at the ice cream. Seemed to be struggling with Apple Pay and took an age to serve the ice cream. The other staffer was making coffees. A queue started forming and the mum left. Unfortunately I was ignored and the person who just walked on got served. I walked out and got served instantly next door. Not the first time happened in there. I won’t be back

Was having a family Christmas lunch there were 4 adults and 2 children, we were welcomed in,all proper procedures were adhered to, server asked about allergies before we ordered great but went down hill fast from there 3 of the adults had carvery we were asked what meats we wanted 2 wanted all 3 1 wanted gammon and turkey that was all we were asked. When the meal came she did not know what was on plate.Potatoes, vegetables etc were already on plate not in dishes to take what you wanted (as we were not asked what we wanted) the food was not even look warm and there were very full plates went back, it was not even asked when the server saw the full plates if there was a problem, as this was a Christmas family lunch and £60 we were very disappointed and would think twice about visiting again.
