Quaint little French cafe tucked in the by-lanes of the Leicester city center. Attentive & pleasant staff & tasty food! We were very happy to have delicious french molten hot chocolate & tasty almond croissant. Highly recommended!

Gave this cafe a second chance after a dismal first impression and I was even more disappointed this time. I paid £4.50 each for three slices of extremely dry lemon poppyseed loaf which included a burnt, wonky-looking end piece. Wish I could say the apricot and pistachio cream tart was better but as with my previous order it was essentially flavourless except for the vague taste of freezer burn. Disappointed again and have definitely learned my lesson this time. Also noticed they only have a 3 hygiene rating. Will not be returning.

We went for afternoon tea on Mother’s Day. Not all of us got the afternoon tea as some of the party requested breakfast food. The food came at different timings, two of us finished food by the time the afternoon tea was ready. We specified we wanted afternoon tea for 2 and it took us 50 minutes to get the tea. The tea was given for 2 people. And then they charged us for 3 people instead of 2 even though we specified we wanted it for 2 but because our booking was for 3, they gave us food for 3 and charged us for this also. Won’t be visiting again

All I can say is wow. The quality and craft of the food and drinks from Chloe Gourmet exceeds all of my past experiences with patissieries. The Nutella and strawberry crepes were the best crepes I have every had: perfectly cooked, layers of flavor, and beautifully plated. I was also shocked by the hot chocolate's quality. It has been the best of my past week of hot coco in Leicester. The staff is also fantastic, offering helpful, charming, and fun suggestions and service. The atmosphere resembles that of stepping into Alice in Wonderland - fantastical, homely, and welcoming. I will be returning again and again just for the crepes, but these other elements simply add to my desire.

A perfect patisserie. The food was delightful and the design of the place itself creates a truly European atmosphere.

My wife and I visit here regularly for coffee and a pastry and occasionally a meal with our grandaughter who loves the curly fries. The baking here is in a word stunning and the coffee is the best in the city centre ( unlike mainstream coffee shops you don't have to ask for your coffe to be hot). I've seen comments saying the service is slow and the staff rude but we've always been treated fantastically by the staff and if you're not prepared to wait for your food and drink to be prepared fresh for you go and get bland fast food instead

A lovely visit today after we noticed this cafe last week.Larger inside than you think.Lovely warm welcome and food was spot on.My son loved the kick of the peppered sausages with his breakfast. Plenty of cake choice and the best Chai latte I've had.

The excruciatingly long wait for food could be excusable if the food was even relatively worth the extortionate prices. Unfortunately i will not be returning.

I came here with me wife, had to book it a day in advance... When we went inside it was a nice little cafe with good seating arrangement, there were already people there which was nice. The lady at the counter came to us on our table, I told her I had booked the afternoon tea for 2, she got it ready for us, asked us our drinks and brought it out for us.... The mini sandwiches were a combination of club sandwiches and a French sandwich, Croque monsieur... They were both very good. The patisseries were very nice and petite but full of flavours, they lovely.... I must say, the chef has really got great skills to make all these by hand. It was simply beautiful and fantastic. We ordered some patisserie to take away for home..... I will be coming back here again

This authentically French café is in a pedestrianised street. We enjoyed two flat white coffees which cost £5.60 in the pleasant interior. There was a very tempting range of cakes and patisserie which we managed to resist.

When I was in Leicester last June, I was ecstatic to find that a French pâtisserie had opened in the centre of town. Having previously lived in Aix-en-Provence, I loved the French desserts and viennoiseries on offer and I was excited to sample some more in the UK. I was not disappointed with Cholé Gourmet... When I first arrived, I was greeted by the Charming interior decor and a mouth-watering array of French desserts. The produce on display not only looked irresistibly mouth-watering but were by far the best French pâtisseries and viennoiseries I have ever tasted outside of France! The croissants were had an delightful buttery taste, the pain au chocolats were divine and contained a generous amount of chocolate inside. I could go on about the desserts but there is far too much to say as they were all absolutely delicious! The nuage was especially delightful as it was both light and had a delicious salted caramel sources and the tarte tropézienne was even more tasty than the local equivalents in St Tropez! The were all absolutely lovely and the owner took a great deal of time to get to know me in french and introduced me all her staff. I was especially pleased to discover that the chef came from Aix-en-Provence. The best part of Cholé Gourmet for me, was the fact that it truly felt like I'd stepped into France. Once inside, you felt as though you had stepped through the wardrobe in Narnia. No longer were you in the streets of Leicester but you were in fact in a glamorous Parisian café. They even served the tea with hot milk like they did in France! All in all, I could not recommend Cholé Gourmet enough! This amazing place has the best French pâtisseries and viennoiseries I have ever tasted in the UK! No matter where you are in the UK, just book a trip to Leicester to come here, you won't regret it!

After trying them a few times since they opened, I can definitely say : exquisite cakes, the best French like that we have tried in Leicester. Everything tasted fresh, clearly made on site, not overly sweet, brilliant balance of flavours. Staff are welcoming and humble, great central location, the quality for the price is excellent.

We went as a group, taking a friend for a treat. We had croque monsieur (with chicken rather than ham, I'm guessing because it's not halal - I had it without either as I'm veggie, still very good), followed by Chloe Royale (which looked amazing and involved a lot of chocolate mousse) and a religieuse. They were so nice I bought some eclairs to give to friends. We weren't in a hurry and while it wasn't especially quick to arrive, it was fine for a leisurely late lunch. It took us a while to be served initially because none of us saw the notice asking people to order at the counter so this is something to bear in mind for next time. Lovely cakes, nice coffee, nice to have mocktails at a cafe too and really lovely to hear French spoken in Leicester.

I ordered a Chloe Frasier cake for my mum’s birthday. It was AMAZING! 🤩 I’m no expert, but it’s a strawberry/creme pat kind of cake. It looks really fragile but beautifully and light. What I’d forgotten was that we were having mum’s party in a canal boat - in the heat, on a vibrating boat! With no fridge! I feared the worst! BUT the cake held up admirably - the four of us tucked in and it was FANTASTIC! And the rest made it home, I to the fridge, and was wonderful the next day. It was the first time I’ve ever used Chloe, and I went in with a last minute order. She was so helpful and made my cake I super fast time. I will definitely use Chloe again in the near future, and also can’t wait to try some of her croque monsieur the next time I’m there. Thank you, Chloe and your lovely, friendly team. The cafe also seemed very covid safe and clean, for anyone who is wondering. And I have no connection to this place at all, except one wonderful cake order.

Nice venue but poor service. Very long delay from ordering food too receiving the food and when the food arrived was disappointing as it was cold as well as missing the extras that i had opted to oay for. Bakery cakes and biscuits were nice and used as temporary filler as a starter whilst waiting for the food... won't be rushing back in a hurry can name plenty of better places in Leicester for food

I’m sad to say that I was very disappointed with my first (and last) visit to Chloe Gourmet. Having seen the gorgeous photos on Instagram I couldn’t wait for a visit. I went with my parents and daughter on Saturday. The decor was nice, the service could only be described as dreadful. We ordered drinks, sandwiches and cakes. The drinks arrived over 20 minutes after we ordered them and after asking for them twice. The sandwiches arrived so far apart that I had finished mine before my dads had even arrived. My dad was very disappointed with his club sandwich which contained sliced turkey meat. I also ordered a chocolate eclair which was stale. I’m sorry to have to write a negative review but we asked to see the manager while we were there but we’re told that she was too busy and would come out in 15 minutes. Which she didn’t. I also feel it’s necessary to balance out the 5 star reviews clearly written by the staff or professional paid reviewers.

Really not worth a visit.Ordered a sous vide pork shoulder which arrived at the table as tough as leather. How the cooks managed that in a sous vide i have no clue. Sent it back and was sent an overcooked steak in place of it. Left.Typical chain restaurant garbage. Just walk on past, as to be completely honest you will be better off at Mcdonalds.

Went out for food yesterday, Sunday. 2 waiters running around trying to take care of a handful of tables and a waiting time of around 50 minutes after ordering the food. Waited another good while just for 2 drinks when we ordered a refill, and didn't even get the coffees we ordered with dessert. Overall, very poor service and, considerably understaffed. Food was good, yet the portions were slightly disappointing in relation to the big plate given to you, presentation was great and really appetising.
