Chip Stop in Wolverhampton

Food delivered early which was a nice surprise. Piping hot, not just thrown together. You could tell that the chips and fish were cooked freshly. This is the first time we have had food delivered from here and it certainly won’t be the last. Thank you.🙂

Gone right downhill, service is poor. Can wait 10 to 15 min just for sausage and chips. Literally just been in , completely missed off a large sausage. Delivery food gets priority everytime

The chippy was good but they didn’t have the ice cream I ordered so they gave me a different one and the ice cream was out of date

Food is decent but takes an absolute age to get served in person, even when you have a simple order. As others have said they seem to prioritise their online orders over the poor sod who has taken the time & effort to go there in person.

Used here for a few years now but tonight was not very good I’m afraid, will contemplate using again going forward.

Always used this chip shop but last nights food was worse chip shop meal we have ever had. We asked for 1 mixed meat kebab and mixed meat and chips... server got the order wrong in the first instance ... the pitta bread was stale, salad wasn't fresh and chips under cooked. Under staffed. We won't be going again!

part of the order was missing so one of our party had to wait for their food and this meaning us all eating at a different time

called restaurant twice , chasing after my order second call to inform them the food was stone cold , and I had to reheat so I could eat it very dismissive ( you got your food ) will not be using again

Last time I ordered mixed meat came with chips only now chips not included,not much mixed meat in tray,not very good value for the money

We have used chipstop for many years. Always had great food but tonight's food was the probably the worst fish and chips I've ever had. Period. Firstly my Mother waited 50 mins for the food...and the manager had the cheek to offer a bottle of coke in condolence? Terrible service! Then the chips were full of oil, disgusting and heavy. The doner kebab was dry with no flavour. Fish was tasteless. You missed out multiple things from the order including salads, sauces and curry sauce. I don't think we will be coming here again. Certainly gone downhill. Not impressed at all!!

I’ve never had a problem until now I ordered a cheeseburger. It was so hard. I could literally knock someone out with it

Been here many times and it has been extremely good. However my last 2 visits were not so much. I waited almost 30mins. For just 2 small specials. They served more towards the online orders. I had the food but by the time I got home my partner had to head off to work. There were only 4 people in when I placed my order. I will not return for a while I will go back to Penn chippy for now.

Chips ok but fish didn't smell very nice. Ended up throwing it away just incase off

The plain chips were terrible - pale and greasy, hard outer but squidgy inside.. the chicken portion was overcooked - you couldn't bite the wing it was so hard! Overall disappointing - wouldn't reorder sadly...

Fish was tasteless, chips were undercooked, southern fried chicken smelled like it had gone off and was insanely hot in the middle so had definitely been microwaved. A shame, as Chip Stop used to be the best chippy around but standards have slipped.

Had the chicken donner meat and it was dry as a bone and burnt on the outside, I had ordered this around 5.30 pm so I'm sure this should be very fresh but it tasted like yesterday's left over meat, terrible, you should be ashamed of yourselves serving food like that

Disappointed with the food. Southern fried chicken had little or no coating on it and large curry sauce was only half full. Though the food was delivered within the specified time, it was too long for liking.

Ordered food, didn’t come so I called the shop and their attitude was so horrible, they kept passing the phone to other people and when I told them I was returning the food because it was cold they started kicking off

we ordered two tinned roe that once taken out of the wrapping we found it un eatable as it was like liquid very soft and watery. disappointed as we use the chip stop on a regular basis the rest of the order was ok.

We ordered one chicken kebab in naan and on lamb doner and chips with sauce and chips. The lamb doner had next to no sauce. The chicken kebab was lamb doner meat which I don't eat. The shop don't answer the phone. Used to be great but obviously gone down hill since the owners left.

Not the best roe and sausage was over done burnt and the chicken kabab wasn’t edible even the dog wouldn’t eat it

Tried Chip Stop for the first time tonight and I found it be a very decent chippy. Pros Great tasting chips, the plain were nice but the battered were very good, a very light batter, not too heavy with the right amount of crunch. Not oily either and we're freshly cooked, I watched them prepare and fry fresh. The price I found to be very fair, mini fish and chips with a choice of sauce was £5.50 OR £6 I can't remember but for that you get a decent sized portion of fish, bang on for the money and a decent portion of chips, so not sure what other people have stated below about portions being small, they definitely wasn't. Good friendly service but was a little slow, it was expected as there were queues the whole time I was in there waiting for my food. All food was prepared fresh and because of that I didn't mind waiting. Cons The masala fish I had I think contained red food dye, please guys if you're reading this just do your masala mix without the dye or add tandoori masala in for the red colour. The shop I felt needed a little updating, tiles were cracked and loose on the floor and the menu boards really looked old. Apart from that a great overall experience. Any customers in Penn if you're thinking of popping here get yourself in and at least try their chips, definitely a decent chippy! All the best

Disgusting service, waiting 2 hours for food. In the end we called the shop, to be then told certain items we had ordered were not available!!! When food finally arrived, things were wrong and was also stone cold. I have used Chip Stop for years and after this experience I will never use them again and I will be telling friends and family too. Absolutely appalling.

Would give 0 if I could, already feel ill, wouldnt even give it to the dog, tasted like they had chewed it up and spat it back into the bag, absolutely rank.

Early delivery tonight, not always so, but they do always deliver within the time stated. Food is good, specials are great value and the delivery drivers always find our house!

Only person in shop staff to busy on phone

Decided to pop in here tonight as we were passing having not been in a while and to say we were disappointed was an understatement. The kebab meat was cold and I had more salad than meat, the mini fish special was tiny for the price and they forgot to do the mushy peas, we got home to realise that, we won’t be returning.

As always cooked fresh piping hot,delivered on time .

The food was terrible. The southern fried chicken had no coating on it. The texture of the chicken was as though it had been defrosted in a microwave. The chips tasted re-heated. Poor effort all around. I will not be ordering again.

Food arrived it wasn't just warm it was actually cold.Had to warm everything up in the microwave. Also no drink was delivered with the Happy Meal. Poor quality with orders is happening far to often ( something wrong virtually every other order) especially when prices continue to rise

40 mins to get my order in the shop, because just eat customers seem to get priority. Mushy peas left on side, so by the time got home they were cold. Lovely food, but not worth waiting 40 mins for, especially when I could have made it at home in half the time. Also prices have been creeping up in the last few months. Will be looking at other options in future. Priority should be to the customers in front of you not the customers sat on their sofas waiting for you to deliver their orders. If you know the wait is going to be unacceptable you should make the customer aware. Not leaving them in a shop, squashed up the wall, because you can't move due to customers waiting because just eat customers getting priority.

Meal came 15 minutes early, caused us a bit of a problem.

As always lovely hot food, would not order from anywhere else.

Let me start by saying this place in person is the best chip shop in wolverhampton, but my first time ordering delivery was awful. My food was cold, and when opening my large kebab and large chips, half the kebab box was filled (literally only the right side of the box), and i had barely any chips - same amount as a regular in person. I think maybe my food has been tampered with by the delivery driver? Or they have just gave me half of what the portions are supposed to be. Wish I could get a re

Disappointed Not the first time either, ask for plain chips and you get battered chips. Ask for a little bit of salt and it was really salty Curry sauce was horrendous, you could drink it it was that watery. Lovely food but disappointed with tonight’s meal

I’m a young person that works here currently, I saw someone else’s review that said the place treats young workers like trash and exploits them but I have been treated really well. All the other staff are friendly and sweet, the working hours fit with my afterschool times, and the occasional free food at the end of the day is a bonus. My dad sometimes orders from this chippy and the battered sausages, and chips, are really tasty especially

30 min late wrong items recived twice

Ordered food to be delivered unfortunately items were missing called the shop and the lady’s attitude stunk refusing to send fresh warm food and put the phone down on me. Will never use them again shocking service and attitude.

My wife is a coeliac so has to have gluten free. We live in Wednesfield on the other side of city, but make the journey because the food is okay. Tonight, I put in my order £25.30, and was made to wait almost half an hour for the order. You’d think, surely, if people can be bothered to walk in, that they would be served first, or perhaps, have a dedicated member of staff to look after them and not have all staff pandering to Go Eat or whoever. A 30 minute wait for fish and chips is very, very poor and I shall try to find somewhere closer to home.

Paid £7.30 for the Cod but it was the size of a mini fish, NOT worth the money, A felt a bit ripped off. Also, had to go out and find the delivery driver, he couldn't find my house...

Everything was bangin as usual apart from salad tray because I requested no tomatoes and got tomatoes & last time I requested no doner meat in mix pitta but got doner with the 2 types of chicken when i only requested the 2 types of chicken on their own, but anyway, it's No big deal and were all human and make mistakes but i just can't eat tomatoes and doner meat as they don't go well with my digestive system, and then I obviously had to pick everything out separately then eat. I've never complained before the mix kebab was Dona kebab it was the smallest kebab I ever had hardly any garlic sauce really disappointed fish was smaller than normal large chips would normally go around the four of us it didn't wanted battered chips looked more like normal mushy peas was cold

Took forever to turn up was half cold and tbf for the amount it cost the portion size was shocking also with delivery being £3.50 you would think it would be a bit more speedy
