The custard filled taiyaki are to die for and only £2.50 for 4 they're so worth it. The batter is so light and fluffy, while the custard is sweet and moreish. Definitely recommend, the staff are just so lovely too.

As a dessert lover, I couldn’t resist trying the custard buns and chiffon cakes in Central London China Town—and they didn’t disappoint! The custard buns were incredibly soft and fluffy, with a creamy filling that wasn’t overly sweet, making them absolutely perfect. Just make sure to peel off the outer layer of the custard bun before enjoying the creamy goodness inside! The chiffon cake was light, spongy, and melted in my mouth with every bite. Both were vegetarian-friendly, which is a huge plus! The best part? Everything was super affordable—I got these delicious treats for under £10. However, I was disappointed when I asked for tissues and was told they didn’t have any. It’s a basic necessity that every bakery should have, and it was surprising to hear otherwise. Overall, the flavors and textures were incredible, and it’s a must-try spot, especially if you prefer desserts that aren’t overly sweet! The bakery is located on one of the streets in the China Town district. It's easy to get here, because from a distance our attention is drawn to the beautiful smell of baked tayiaki fish. You can buy them in a large version, already made, waiting for us in the bakery. The price is around £4 per fish. Or choose the option of smaller fish, baked hot after placing the order. The price is £2 for 4 small fish. The bakery operates in a self-service system. At the entrance, there are lunch trays waiting for us, on which we collect the things we are interested in, and when we are ready, we go to the cash register and add up our order. Despite the traffic there most of the time, thanks to this solution, everything goes quite smoothly. All the baked goods are very good and the prices are pleasant. I highly recommend trying the rolls with a sweet shell and bean paste inside 🥰

Wo! Here I am guys, once again, me, myself and my matcha’s cravings. If you love matcha and want to try something special in London, do go straight away to this bakery. They make it an ice cream. Can you believe it? There is more. You can choose between having it in a cone fish shaped or in a mango flavoured sweet bread. I have chosen the mango bread. Followers, it does taste like mango as well as the ice cream which tastes exactly like tea. This is kind of a dream. It is also so warm, just baked for us! For some reason, I have the impression to eat a healthy treat…crazy stuff over here. Very quick service and friendly staff. Will try the red bean ice cream next time. Cheers you all 👏

They have 3 bakeries all within a small area, very busy with tourists and unfortunately pickpockets. This is my favourite branch for no determinable reason, the ladies that work here are brilliantly no nonsense. The food in my opinion is both delicious and incredibly well priced. I limit myself to one trip a week (work local) normally get the roast pork bun and red bean roll for myself and a pandan triangle cake for my daughter. Delicious. When the day comes that they jack up the prices it will be a very sad day indeed.

One of the best bakeries in China Town! My personal favourites and recommendations are the Custard Taiyaki and Sausage Buns. Although the food here is definitely something to marvel at, there is often little to no space in the bakery itself due to the large abundance of people in a cramped space especially at peak times, making it difficult to navigate the shop. Aside from this, it is still worth checking it out!

The bread and cakes were nice. However the movement in shop was really poor: customers need to get in the shop, then go to the counters in other room to pay and finally squeeze themselves out to the door when they originally come in. I don’t understand why it is designed like this.

Chinese pastry with a lot of variety. They sell freshly made taiyakis directly outside and there is usually a line. To enter you do it through a door, you take a tray, you fill it in self-service with everything you want and they charge you for it at the exit, which is a different door. The prices are a little high for my taste.

Used to come here from time to time but most recently a short, dark and heavy Asian female staff working on packaging and stocking buns was absolutely rude even by Chinatown standard… She aggressively complained to customers for them being in her way in such an offensive manner that we just put down the selected products and left. There are plenty other options in the vicinity if you want the same or more variety of exactly the same buns but without some staff seeking to insult customers.

🥐🎉 **Chinatown Bakery: Bun-believable Delights!** 🎉🥐 If you find yourself wandering through the vibrant streets of London’s Chinatown, do yourself a favor and make a beeline for Chinatown Bakery. This little gem is a carb-lover’s dream, where sweet and savory buns beckon from the windows like fluffy clouds of deliciousness. The moment you step inside, you’re greeted by the intoxicating aroma of freshly baked bread. The selection is vast, with most treats priced at a friendly £3-4. But let’s cut to the chase: the must-try here is the soft, puffy sweet bread. Imagine biting into a pillow of sweetness that practically melts in your mouth – it’s like a warm hug from a bun. Don’t overlook the savory options either. Whether you’re craving something meaty or cheesy, there’s a bun with your name on it. And for those with a sweet tooth, the small cakes are the perfect pick-me-up, adding a touch of elegance to your bakery haul. In summary, Chinatown Bakery is a delightful mix of flavors and textures, all wrapped up in a cozy, bustling atmosphere. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, it’s a stop that promises to satisfy and surprise. Just don’t blame us if you leave with a bag full of buns – resistance is futile! 🥯🍰🌟

I normally love this place but I got custard fish from here yesterday and they were honestly not very good. They gave me pre made ones already bagged and they were cold and the custard wasn't melty. So basically cold batter with tacky custard. Not nice and not worth it. My friend got an ice cream and it had a hole it so it was melting everywhere. It's such a shame! The issue could easily be fixed by going back to the system on giving out fresh custard fish.
