Have been using this amazing chinease take away for over 10 years now, we love the family and staff, we’ve never had a bad meal from there or items missing, we travel from Treharris to there and back and the food is still piping hot. Satay sauce is top tier ❤️ Love you guys Dannii&Ja

Joke of a place ! Food can be nice but the service is absolutely diabolical, how can you just randomly close on a Wednesday ? Lazy if you ask me.

The food here is great, but the management really need to be better with their customers. We've been customers here for many years and live locally. We had an issue last time with payment method due to conflicting information from staff. Placed an order tonight and asked if we could do this around three times, during the conversation and the person who I wont name because I dont intend to be as disrespectful as I felt treated, told me yes I can. Great, got there and went to tap my card and the person and I can only assume a shift leader came out and proceeded to explain and go on about why they don't like to take contactless and why I shouldn't have asked to do it. I felt like I was in school being told off. Well if you don't accept it, no problem, but don't lecture customers when your staff advised you do contactless, and you, in fact, don't like to use it for whatever reason. It really was uncalled for. I personally feel it's safer than providing card details over the phone to people and much quicker. I dont know if staff are DBS checked or not, and cash means increased risk of Covid and handling of money between two people. Where is the logic? Don't lecture the customer for something you need to train your staff on. It isn't the first time it has happened.

Greasy noodles, long wait for delivery . Definitely will not be using again. Its a shame because their food was good !

Lovely food, terrible service! Definitely the most yummy food in the area. Unfortunately I've ordered a few times and I've ever been given the correct food and there have been a few other issues. This weekends order took 2.5 hours to come after lots of phonecalls. They were saying it was too dark to find my house and the delivery driver wasn't from around here. If you look at delivery reviews they're all awful. Would much rather they just apologied and cancelled the order or whatever as they were quite dismissive and rude on the phone. Shame as the food is lush. Never had an issue having food delivered from other places before, I live on a main road

A great eatery, a bit of a pain to get telephone orders through. 25 - 35 minute wait for take away food on average. £20 per person spend. Best Chinese in the area though.

Takeaway delivery Threw all away duck burnt tub of spring onions and cucumber gone off soggy crispy beef cold chips reheated rice hard and appeared brown and refried...noodles cold and tasteless I could go on but you get the picture ! Absolutely disgusting rang and complained two days later 20 quid refund after three phone calls bill was 48 quid ...starter tray was just edible. Previously had good food but will never use again..

Gone downhill. Food was definitely not worth £30. I ordered crispy chicken and the batter was soggy. Absolutely revolting and horrendous. Won’t be ordering again, and would advise you not to.

Best Chinese around, definitely my favourite!

There always seem to be something from delivery. Tonight there were 2 packets of poppadoms, there have been drinks in the past. I have rung to say things were missing but nobody answers the phone and I leave voicemails. Poor service, really disappointing.

Food is ok but the delivery takes forever

This is the 3rd time I have ordered for delivery from this takeaway. I have ordered at opening hours but still have not received the food within the specified delivery window. When calling the company two hours later, I was told that the food was in the warmer and would be delivered in 10 minutes. Considering I live less than half a mile away this is ridiculous. I will never order from them again again. Outrageous!!!

They deliver about an hour after they say they will. Good food tho

I phoned and ordered my food normally they asked for my address and said that it was no problem I was sat for 2 hours waiting and decided to phone them they said that they don’t deliver where I am but didn’t think to phone and let us know

Started going to China Village a year or so ago and every time the food has been spot on, wont go anywhere else

What can I say, we ordered a few different dishes tonight. Every single one of them was absolutely stunning! Even after the 15 minute drive home to Rhydyfelin it was still roasting hot! The Chop Suey was absolutely unbelievable, the chicken is decent quality and the noodles are something else. Non of it was greasy like some Chinese takeaways. I would highly recommend this takeaway restaurant!

Beautiful Chinese, best around in my opinion

Delivery took 1 hour and 40 minutes. Not all of our order arrived, when I called I was told they could send the items missed out - after waiting a 100 minutes for our order this wasn’t an option. Was told mistakes happen, they shouldn’t - it’s not difficult to tick an order into a bag. Typical we have your money attitude towards customer service.

Ordered food at 6.08pm received message that it would be delivered by 7.30pm food did not arrive until after 8pm. Food was cold as well as being late. Delivery driver told us that they are only informed of the delivery 20mins before order is ready to go owner disputed this and told me that the driver tells them 20mins before when to prepare the food. What a joke. Never come across a takeaway that works that way. Phoned to ask why it was late and got a load of excuses. Offered a refund which I disputed as I felt the amount offered was unreasonable - refund has not materialised. Never ever again. Appauled.

We should have read all the reviews before ordering online as that would have let us know what we were in for ! The website said collection was not an option and delivery may take up to ninety minutes. Not brilliant with that timescale but hey ho, decided to give it a go, hoping it would actually be quicker in practice. After two hours waiting we rang to be told it's out with the driver. During the second phone call, almost two and a half hours after the order was made, the staff stated it was only 10 minutes late and when we requested a refund were told it was not possible!! At that point it actually arrived. I dislike giving a bad review but in this case it is well deserved.

If you are looking for the best chinese take away in the area look no further. Great food every time and always prompt delivery

Popped in on the way home from work, ordered a special fried rice....well it was special alright..!! Ordered a carton of curry sauce with chips. The fried rice was without any prawns, just a dollop of sweet and sour sauce, with a sheet of chicken and pork, it consisted of mostly brown rice with one or two peas. It was completely tasteless, and as for the curry sauce.... what I get, another carton of brown rice, got the order wrong. As for the chips, well got to be yesterday’s,they were terrible...!!! Absolute crap...!! £12.00 for a load of S~~~t...!! Won’t go there again...!!

Lovely fresh food, can't fault it

First time trying this Chinese last night and we are super impressed! The meat from China Village is great quality (which isn't always the case with takeaway food) and the food tasted clean and delicious. This will be our go-to Chinese in future. Excellent service too, really friendly staff.

The last few meals we have had delivered from here have been fantastic. Full of flavour and with a fast delivery. I recommend their satay chicken skewers 👌

Easy access and clear. Food great

We placed a telephone order for sweet and sour chicken balls, beef in black bean sauce, egg fried rice, prawn crackers and chips. The food was ready for collection within about 25 minutes. The portion sizes were great, the food was very tasty and cooked with fresh ingredients. This was our first visit, but certainly won't be the last. Great value for money.

I always recommend this place to anyone looking for a high quality Chinese takeaway, even if it means travelling for 10/15 minutes to collect!!

Called today to order a vegetable curry. I have ordered these many times. I found out tonight that is contains chicken stock!!! How is that vegetarian ?!

I've ordered a good few times from China Village, the food is always good but a little inconsistent! Last chips I had tasted like sponge therefore had clearly been re-cooked in order to fulfill the order. This order didnt arrive for nearly 2 hours and whilst I appreciate that it's a busy night, we should at least get the heads up on this when ordering online!!! The chow mein and the Kung Po chicken were great but I just wish that the chips didnt look like they had sat in a puddle on a 6 nations game night and the texture was that of a damp, old matress. Better luck next time.

Simply the best Chinese food we have ever had

My family usually go to a Chinese in Church Village, and only tried China Village tonight because the usual seemed to be closed. We have a slightly complicated order; my mam loves sweet and sour chicken, but only the cantonese/hong kong style; she can't eat eggs, so the batter is just too much otherwise. However, she doesn't like green peppers or carrots, so we always have to customise our order and not many places are very happy with that. China Village were completely happy to customise the meal, even to the extent of adding mushrooms into the dish as well. We always order the roast duck with mushrooms, and special chow mein, and I was thrilled to see that they have the large, meat pancake rolls; (lots of places only do the small vegetable ones) so I had one of those as well. Well, the food was fantastic. As good as any Chinese I've ever had, tasty and fresh, excellent portion sizes and excellent proportion of meat to vegetables, and the sauces were just right. The pieces of duck were large, melting in the mouth, with the perfect umami balance; the mushrooms in both dishes were perfectly cooked, and had soaked up the different sauces deliciously. Plenty of lovely onions and pineapple in the sweet and sour dish, too. The special chow mein had slices of chicken on top, and was packed with meat and prawns as well as the noodles and beansprouts. Delicious! We arranged to collect the food since we were going to the shop next door for some groceries anyway, and they safely brought the food out and placed it on a table in front of the door so we could pick it up while observing the social distancing in place currently. They do deliver, and in future, we'll definitely be taking advantage of that service. Well done, China Village, you've made fans for life here, and we'll definitely be regulars from now on!

Food lovely as usual but not for the first time the order was incomplete. This was a birthday meal and as the country is in lockdown we were pleased to see that China Village were taking orders via the internet. Needless to say that due to half the items being missing it spoilt the evening. The missing items were delivered but by this time 1 meal had been eaten and the others had to be warmed up in the microwave. Very poor experience.

Love the food from China Village, probably the best Chinese Takeaway I’ve ever had (and I’ve been around a long time and am very fussy about my food); my daughter even comes from Bridgend to get a takeaway from here, that’s how good it is. So glad they’re still able to operate for the time being. Waiting time was a bit longer when I ordered, presumably because of the lockdown and so many people ordering from them but nevertheless standard of food was still excellent. Highly recommended.

All time favourite chinese takeaway!

Very good Chinese. Since renovated after a fire, but much better now. No worries as the still cook the food the same. Also they have a television to watch while you're waiting.

RAW FOOD!!! Messaged these people on facebook to let them know that the chicken balls that they delivered to us were pink(undercooked) as i originally didnt want to write a bad review of the place, over a week later with NO APOLOGY whatsoever. The rest of the food is not up to much either. Bad service.

Lovely to see they have reopened back in their proper building :-) Went along, ordered for 4, no queues, great value, big portions, no complaints!

Would give zero stars if that was an option! Absolutely disgusting! Left us waiting for our order for over 2 and a half hours. Rang up to see where it was only to be told the driver collected it half hour ago (probably be cold when it does eventually arrive). Another hour passes and we receive a phone call telling us our order is not on it's way, they didn't see our order!!!! Shocking. We politely asked for a refund which couldn't be done online so asked if a driver could bring it. Manager said she would make a quick call and get back to us. Another half hour later and she still hasn't called back. We ring, instead of a refund we are offered 50% of our order which she will quickly prepare. Bearing in mind it's 10pm(who eats at this time) we decline her offer and insist on a full refund. Then she goes on to say we should have rang immediately after ordering to check it had gone through. What on earth is the point of an online ordering service if you then have to ring? Thanks for ruining my friday evening not to mention my birthday celebrations. I will never order from you again. Nothing offered to us as a gesture of good will, absolutely shocking. Told the manager I was going to leave a bad review, she proceeded to delete the facebook page. Avoid using this take-away unless you want your evening ruined 😡😡😡😡😡

What can I say, over 2 hours ago I ordered a meal to be delivered. I live .2 mile away from the take away. 45 mins was the delivery time, fine, but over 2 hours later, no sign. Rang them up, they didn’t even have a record of my order!!!! If you are considering ordering from here, forget it!! You’d die of starvation and even then they wouldn’t have turned up!! Never again.

they have taken Chinese food and magically removed all of the flavour and there is indeed a strong smell of piss as you enter the premises. There is a bar downstairs if you fancy a pint but it's rough as fook (and I'm not fussy where I drink!!).

Simply the best option in the area for a take away, I highly recommend the salt and chilli chicken!I have no issue with the food but I have recieved a number of incorrect orders. If this happens make sure to let them know as, to be fair, I have always been offered a replacement or a credit for next time. Best takeaway in Church Village area for me.Thanks!

Never been disappointed with any meal

We've ordered from China village takeaway several times due to how well they cater to my partners allergies. The menu consists of all the classics along with an incredible range of vegetarian options. Every meal seems fresh and tastes great with very little of the grease or excessive salt you seem to get from other places. The only downside is it's location, hidden away upstairs in Scott's hotels.

Not worth a visit. Fire damage some time ago - not repaired premises at the takeaway. Not the best place to consider for a takeaway in the area

Absolutely appalling service rang up and ordered a take away for six people was told it would be delivered in 40 min , after an hour rang to see where the food was I was then told it was on its way , after another 40 min no food rang again this time I was told that the driver was definitely on his way , after waiting 2 1/2 hours I then had a phone call of a young girl saying that my order hadn't even been cooked yet and that it would take another 1/2 an hour I told them to cancel the order . Never again terrible service .

No vayas al Scotts Hotel en Pontypridd. La comida para llevar chino está al lado del hotel y se refieren a esto como el restaurante! Hotel me recuerda a Motel Bates. Olor a orina de aseos en la recepción. horrible bar, indómito clientela y llevar chino es el peor que he tenido. Una estrella está sobrevalorado!

Decidimos probar China Village como nuestro habitual Haunt está cerrado por el momento, lo que por desgracia no hacer mucho para impresionar.

He usado para conseguir comida para llevar desde aquí mucho cuando estaba en las antiguas instalaciones. Me dieron una noche pasada y me alegro mucho la comida es aún tan bien como yo estaba un poco preocupado después de ver que ahora estaba en el primer piso de un hotel sucio con una pequeña cocina. La comida es sabrosa y una buena relación calidad-precio y no había una larga espera para colección incluso el viernes por la noche muy concurrida. Lo recomiendo y seguro volveré.

Best Chinese in the area, but know that you can request the food without MSG and it's so much better without it !! I'd recommend the salt and chilli ribs!

China Villiage has to be one of the best chinese I have ever been to, the food is outstanding, the customer service is 100% and the service is really quick, you guys will have it up and running again in no time, and it was amazing before, so it's going to be outstanding this time, cannot wait to see it re opened.

I was a freaquent customer at China village and would often visit there restaurant as well as order a takeaway. I'm so devistated to hear that it's unfortunately burned down! Their food and service was always impeckable and I can't wait to see it up and running again soon!

Definitely recommend!! Outstanding fresh food with staff that are lovely & friendly always welcoming...I travel 10 miles on a weekend to collect my food as it's well worth traveling the distance to eat the nicest & tastiest Chinese food around.. I've yet to experience a bad dish. Trying the food here is a must!!

the entire China Village building burned down a few days ago and will be out of action for a while. It looks like they'll have to demolish what ever is left. Just in case anyone was thinking of travelling a distance or wondering why they can't place orders for delivery.

The food was worth the wait but before sorting out my order the young girl was talking to as I see it delivery driver and then when I told her my order and payed for it she carried on talking about her driving test to where I had to look at her and say my order gonna take longer now your here talking. apart from that it's a lovely looking place and tasty food .

You must try this chinese restaurant. It's the best in town! The atmosphere was lovely, the staff very friendly and the food was lovely.

The food is always of a high standard of which I can never find fault with. I usually have a takeout, however, I thought I try out the diner with friends, once again China Village has never failed to disappoint. The food was served really quick and the waitress was very friendly. I loved the presentation of the food and it was as tasty as ever. Would definitely be returning.Highly recommend.

Gorgeous food, great value for money, very clean and a nice atmosphere. Myself and 5 friends had a wonderful meal here recently, we were well looked after and would definitely visit again.
